Poor quality and craftsmanship. Paid $90 with $10 tip for formal dress to be hemmed and altered. Gave them 2 weeks to complete services. Picked up and the dress hem was crooked, puckered and open on the ends. The shoulders were crooked as well and did not lay flat. Was told I had to discuss my concerns with the owner. When at the shop she stated I ruined the hem by wearing and asked why I didnt try on in the store at timw of oick up. She refused to help or give me my money back- now here is why I am really leaving this review- she grabbed my receipt out of my hand and started ripping it up. I told her I felt forced to leave a bad review and she threatened to get her lawyer- yelling at me that all of this was on camera. Stunned. Poor work and even worse customer service. Buyer beware and BRIDES - just NO! This was a $200 dress that is ruined. I can't imagine a wedding dress! read more

I would think twice about going here considering all the options around... I left a dress there to get altered and was not happy with the outcome or my interactions. to be honest I didn't have a great feeling the second they were helping me. it felt very rushed and not cared for. when I went to pick up my dress after the scheduled time, they said to come back. I could tell from looking at their interaction in the back that it had not been started. I just wanted the truth and for them to be upfront and not rush! I did come back about 20 mins later to it being done, tried it on, to find out they did not hem it to the desired length that was stated on the ticket! when I asked the lady about it and showed her what SHE wrote on the ticket, she said that must not have read it.... terrible response in my opinion and now I have to take it somewhere else to get the job finished. I appreciate their hard work and what they do as tailors but this was not handled well. I felt rushed from the start and not like a valued customer read more

Excellent service! I had a pair of shorts that needed to be sewn on the edges to make it stay in place. When I went to pick up the item, it was done perfectly and they did a great job color matching the thread as well. They did a professional job and I was very happy with it! These people are expert at alterations, always accommodating and always have clothes ready on time.

The first time I came in the clerk was very friendly and the hemming of a pr of pants was reasonable. The second item I brought in was a dress to get hemmed and I thought the price was a little on the high side because it was just a straight hem nothing extremely difficult and the person who took my item was on the rude side dropping off and picking up. There seems to be be a pricing that is very unstandard and doubtful I will take anything else there. read more

I went to this business to get wedding gown alterations. They did the fitting and I was told that I would receive a call from the owner with the cost of the alterations. Hanna calls me the same day, and tells me it would be $65 but would offer half off discount if I paid in full that same day. I told her that sounds very cheap and I don't mind paying the full price, I even told her to charge $80 to include the tip, she declined the $80 and said she doesn't accept tips until job is completed. I later receive a bank notification of a $650 charge. I immediately called them back and ask if that was a mistake in their end, to which she tells me $650 was correct, I emphasized "six, five, zero?" She says yes. My aunt then calls in for further clarification, and let's her know that would I would actually like the half off discount that she offered on the first call, confirms again that I would receive half off and confirmed the TOTAL price of $325. I received the refund of $325. I go in for a final fitting to which the owner says I still owe $325, to my confusion I explained I've already paid in full. She says no, I still owe. I explained she should be better at communication and provide detailed receipts and bills. The owner hanna then proceeds to hold my dress and tell me that she can just remove all the alterations from my dress and return it to the way I brought it in, extremely rude. I paid the $325 to receive my dress but the way they conduct their business and unprofessionalism is not okay. There is a language barrier which is okay, but they agreed to what I was saying when I was confirming pricing, repeating the number back to them and they confirmed "yes". This is not $650 worth of alterations, my wedding is 9 days away. Respectfully, do not give this place your business. read more

Every time I have to wear a formal dress I panic! As a gal who is 5 ft 2, with short shoulders and wears a 32G bra size.....finding a flattering and comfortable formal dress is almost impossible! I have attempted to use them at a variety of times and the job is always done and done it well, but I have felt in more recent visits that I have not gotten the full in-depth consultation on what I wanted done and needed to tell them whatever else needed to be done for almost ever garment I brought in (sleeves to long, hips being to wide, etc), once trying to tell me I didn't need a certain alteration done because I wouldn't lift my arms (I sing in the dress and lift my arms in the song- and I did tell them this) and still didn't do it they said because of the beading. I did have a situation where I called about a formal dresses they said they would call me back with a price for after the holiday weekend. Over a week+ went by I called to check how much it would cost me, and they continually on the phone had to ask me the color of the dress, the number, and at one point was disconnected from them and when called back basically was told they were to busy to help call back in a bit. I was worried they lost the dress- by the end of the day I had my answer and I knew it was resolved, I was scared they lost my $800 dress. I am going to say- every time I need alterations they are done and done well, but I have had some bumpy interactions. read more

I ordered my bridesmaids dress for my friends wedding, the sleeves were too large and the dress was about a half inch from zipping all the way. With the sleeves already being too large it didn't make sense to get the dress in a larger size and I soon found out the dress no longer comes in the color I needed. So I took the dress in to Express Alterations; I have never had to have a dress altered. They had me try the dress on pinned the sleeves and I have them extra fabric from the bridal store. I picked the dress up yesterday and I was very pleased with the results! The dress now fits perfectly (and zips to the top). If you have never had alterations depending on the alterations the cost can be more or around the same prize of the dress you purchased. This is not a negative, just prepare yourself. I think the cost is worth it especially if you don't want to go through the motions of sending a dress back and want it to fit to your body perfectly. Or if you are like me and can not get a new dress because they don't make it anymore. Express is the way to go. This place usually has great customer service! However, I came by about 45 minutes before closing on a Thursday and they agreed to fit me. A little after, they told me I had to come back the next day, because they were closing and could not finish the job. I feel like for a customer that, I kid you not, spends thousands a year on alterations with them, the job should be finished. Not all loyalty is rewarded! Also, I had to request for both arms of a jacket to be fitted, which should be assumed, especially if someone clearly has an asymmetry. Not the best experience here today. read more

Cannot recommend Express Alterations more. Incredibly friendly staff, very timely and reasonably priced. I went in on a Saturday and needed a bridesmaids dress altered. I was in and out in about 10 minutes and my dress was ready the following Friday. It fit perfect when I tried it on and the length of the hem was perfect as well. I paid in full when I dropped the dress off but I believe you can pay half when you drop it off and half when you pick it up. The woman who works the front counter (unfortunately didn't get her name either visit) is so friendly and welcoming. I will come here again next time I need something altered! read more
