My wife needed alterations for our wedding. She was told to come pick up the dress on the Wednesday before we were leaving. (We were leaving to drive 3 hours on Friday to start our wedding weekend.) We get there Wednesday and were told they needed more time and could we come back on Friday. We agreed because we really had no choice but this caused extreme amounts of stress. We arrived at 4pm on Friday to find that the person working on her dress wasn't there and it was not completed. They called her and asked if we could come back in an hour. We went to grab dinner and came back an hour later. My wife went to finish things up at 5pm and myself and our six year old were left in the car waiting for 2.5 hours while we waited on it to be finished. They did take $50 off the $400 dollar bill but by that time and needing to drive three hours in the dark and rain due to it felt like WAY too little WAY to late. Will not being using them in the future. Wife also informed me the quality of service was also not up to what was promised and there was no time to fix it. This was my first tailoring experience, ever. I knew that you can't just drop something off and pick it up an hour later. And I'm a poor planner. I have a jersey (two, actually, so I still have another) that needed altered. I normally don't think about it until it's too late (actually, I suppose I'll admit to not washing it until it's time that I need it- Every two to three weeks or so. It really just depends. Sometimes it hangs out in my basement). Then bam- It's game day, and I am swimming in my jersey. I yelped for some alterations places, and I couldn't find anything. I googled "same day alterations," and I found Express Alterations. And to my luck, it was right down the street from our lunch reservations and from our sports facility. Score! I had called Express Alterations, and they told me they would need about three hours. When I got there, they told me they could have it done in two. The guy at the counter was very friendly, fast and energetic. He talked to me about soccer (his favorite sport). He got me in and out quickly and told me I could come back in as early as two hours if I wanted to. Will not be using Express Alterations again. I paid for my service ahead of time, and I was told it would be ready August 1st. (2 days after I dropped it off, just to have a button added) I walked in August 1st and it was not ready. They told me to sit down and wait and they would hurry and get it done. Not the best job was done. While I was in there, there was a gentleman who came in with a suit that had been tailored from here less than 2 days ago. He told them that he didn't like what they had done and there was a pucker in the shoulder. The lady told him that in order to fix the pucker they would need to charge him $75 dollars to add a shoulder pad! On top of the money he ALREADY paid to have it tailored the first time when they messed up! Unbelievable, will not use them again. read more

I usually do not leave reviews very often, so this one is a must to warn others NOT TO VISIT!!!! I visited Express Alterations of off 96th street in Fishers, IN on 8/9/23. I usually get my child's skirt hemmed every year and this is the first year I encountered unprofessionalism and ignorance from the employees. This location advertises same day service on their windows and website, which I have used before. There has been staff changes, so maybe things have slightly changed since last year. When I arrived the girl that helped me was very nice, when I asked her if it was possible to hem one of the 2 skirts for same day pick up she called the seamstress over to the counter. As I stood there, they assumed I did not speak Spanish and started talking about me right in front of me and how they were going to charge me more because I showed up at 5 and they close at 6. I didn't respond because I needed the skirt, and I knew they closed within the hour. They both had attitudes and made comments like " charge her more for coming in so late, maybe then she will learn". I was told the skirt would take 15 mins so I waited in my car. I walked back into the store and there were 2 costumers in front of me. I sat down to wait for my turn and all I can hear is the 2 employees in the back talking about me. I heard them say "the skirt lady just walked in, didn't say anything and sat down with a face", the seamstress replied with "she just sat down without saying anything? ok don't talk to her let her wait until she gets tired". When I heard this, I said in Spanish to the lady at the counter "can you let your employees know that I speak Spanish and understood everything they just said about me. During that time one of them walked out and the lady at the counter informed them that I understood what they said. The lady at the front apologized, and that was it. This unprofessionalism is unacceptable. If this is how the employees treat costumers, I recommend people take their business elsewhere. PRICES ARE HIGH, RUDE EMPLOYEES and HIGHLY IGNORANT. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. If I could leave a negative star I would. read more

This was my daughters first major alteration experience and it was for her wedding dress. After several fittings the dress was ruined due to poor alterations. Uneven work, stitching visible on the outside and cuts made in the fabric without her permission. Completely altered the look of the dress. In an attempt to discuss this with the owner and another employee, they were rude and unprofessional. Poor customer service and did not show up when we had agreed to meet in person to discuss. Took the dress home anyway so that no further damage could be done. My daughter has had smaller jobs done here and they were ok. Seems like it's not the best place for an important gown like a wedding. Thankfully we were able to take the gown to another seamstress who saved the dress and the day. Great deal of stress two weeks before the wedding and the poor customer service and unprofessionalism made it much worse. read more

I took in two pair of slacks to be hemmed (one had side slits on the cuff and I asked them to make sure to replicate the slits). Upon arriving to pick up my slacks, I found out that they had not included slits. Said the mistake would be corrected and I could come in Monday to get them. I waited until Wednesday and they hadn't even started on the correction. The place seems very disorganized and the young woman at the counter was very defensive and rude. A manager finally came to the front, apologized and gave me a $10 credit. While service recovery was nice, the final product was sub-par, with marking chalk still on the pant legs. With all of the business they're getting, I would hope they would be more organized and attentive so this does not happen to someone else. read more

I had ordered an Amazon prime dress for a wedding on a Sunday, revived the dress on Monday and it was slightly large in the chest. I called Express and stated I needed it before Wednesday because the wedding was out of town and I left Thursday. Express got the job done so quickly and even refunded me because the way they planned on altering it didn't work. They were amazing and so fast! I will be taking more items back to them! read more

First time here. Had a leather coat that the zipper had broken, I was ready to get get ride of coat. They replaced the broken zipper, I can't tell that the zipper has been replaced, coat is good as new. Price was reasonable and cheaper than other places, coat was done when they promised. Had another coat that I enjoyed wearing, the pockets had worn out. I purchased material with their recommendation as I did not want the silk material they offered. It was also done when they promised. They even gave me a discount for bringing in my material. Greatly appericated. Quality of work is AWSOME. It was finished when promised! Great job! read more

I got a pair of pants altered and they did a great job. 8 bucks is hard to beat. My only issue is that they charged my card twice. I called and was told to come back in for a refund but only if I had the receipt. I got my money back but will definitely bring cash next time! My fiancé got her wedding dress altered here too. This is my new favorite alteration spot, all thanks to Yelp! I was in a major need of an alteration shop, due to a formal event coming up (pre-quarantine). We all know the same routine. Buy a formal gown, maybe a size smaller, hoping you can "diet" or "work out" your way to get into the dress. Well I tried that method, and in some areas, worked great. In another area, the stubborn back fat, not so much, so I needed back up help (pun intended). I needed to have part of the back lowered (backless dress) and loosened up just a tad. I brought the dress in on a Monday, and they had it ready by Friday! When I tried it on, I had a whole "Cinderella" moment. The dress looked as if it was handcrafted for my body! They did such an amazing job, and the ladies that work there are so nice! I have several more items I need worked on so I will be back soon. The prices are fair. The dress alterations were $35 and repairing a shirt with a tear in it was $6. Very satisfied customer and highly recommend to anyone looking! read more
