I was recommend to get my wedding dress alterations at this shop by Blue House Bridal. March 2024. It was not the best experience unfortunately. Please, save your money, emotions, stress and time and try to find a different place for your wedding dress alterations. It was NOT a worthwhile or pleasant experience. The alterations ended up being mostly what I wanted, but the issues were customer service, timing, pricing and final result. During each visit except 1, the owner was extremely rude, always had an attitude, seemed annoyed we were there and acted like she hated us. All we did was show up and be as kind as we could. As far as the pricing, we paid over $1,200 for these alterations. INSANE. My dress was that price and it came from a fancy well-known shop in Carmel. We couldn't believe it. At the second visit, NOTHING was completed, and she didn't seem to realize beforehand. It was a wasted visit or maybe not because she wouldn't have realized nothing had been done. Due to their timing and not getting alterations completed in a timely manner, I did not get to pick up my dress until THREE days before my wedding. THREE. Unacceptable. I realized the day of my wedding that the final hem on the bottom wasn't completed, so it was too long and I kept tripping on it. Therefore, they still hadn't completely finished the alterations. I am unsure why I had this experience because at the time the reviews were over 4 stars. It clearly has gone downhill. Don't give this woman your business. She does not care about you at all. Bummer. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this business. When my daughter tried on her wedding dress 2 days before her wedding, the top of the dress wasn't tacked down properly and it wasn't pressed. We had to take it back and have them finish the alterations!! They were so incredibly rude when we were the one's being inconvenienced. Not to mention we paid over $1300 for the alterations!! I wish I could give 0 stars and still be able to leave a review. Something Wonderful ruined my mother of the bride dress a week before the wedding and refused to provide a refund. I was forced to buy a second dress 4 days before the wedding brought it to Walter's bridal alterations who did a fabulous job! They were also stupor expensive. I highly recommend Something Wonderful. Welcoming atmosphere that helped calm my wedding-prep nerves. I brought in a dress from Luxe Redux Bridal that was previously a sample gown and needed some alterations. I also asked for some custom work, specifically custom sleeves. They went above and beyond, matching the lace and bead work so that custom additions blended perfectly with the rest of the dress. If I could give this alterations place 200 stars I would do so. I walked in with a 35 pound dress, it was sequined from top to bottom, and had a 2.5 foot train. A little background, the dress came from Pakistan and was not made to my specifications. It can happen sometimes. Highly do NOT recommend Suffuse, the Lahore designer that literally made me cry because of how rude, and terrible every person was to work with after taking my deposits. For anyone Pakistani, I'm not the first person to have the most awful experience with this designer. And I'll even call out the employee who was extremely terrible to work with. Her name is Nida and she answers whatsapp queries until you pay them; then she goes missing and calls you crazy for following up with her on a dress that came late 3 months, then incorrect size, and damaged. Something Wonderful helped me when I was 1 month from my wedding. They altered my 35 pound dress to bring it in 5 inches (that's how incorrect my dress was made) and used the most innovative ways to help me carry the dress carefully and comfortably. Every person helped assure me that they would be able to fix my dress to every specification and they did exactly that. Even removing my 2 foot train to something that would be far more manageable for me to carry around. I saw that some people think something wonderful was too expensive, I will counter that and say it's 100% untrue. All my alterations were in line with what my friends also paid in alterations for far more simple work. If anything, I got an amazing deal for my dress alterations. If this place can make my extremely difficult and tight timeline happen, fix 10 different issues on my 35 pound dress, and also make my dress more beautiful in 3 weeks, they can do anything. Sarah was a little more expensive than what we were wanting to spend, but my gosh did she help transform my dress! My dress had to be taken in the bust almost 2 full sizes. It was complicated due to the amount of lace & beading. She was patient with my questions and very professional. If you have any ideas for alterations, she will discuss the different options for your dress and even demonstrate what it would look like. I loved the bustle she added to my dress. It came with numbered ties which were easy for my maid of honor to figure out the day of. I would highly recommend her. Plan on 3 alterations visits with her to ensure the perfect fit. Beyond expensive, double the price of another seamstress who I unfortunately found after the fact. Offered to steam my veil and charged $30. Truly did not feel that she listened to me or my concerns. You can only go for fittings on Tuesdays and Thursday's which is not ideal at all. Just not a great experience. read more

I want to preface this review by saying customer service is PARAMOUNT, in the wedding industry. If you are a bride looking for someone to make your dress fitting an experience, to make you feel good or to make the dress altered to fit your body, just go somewhere else. There are literally TONS of other people who are happy to do your alterations and make you feel heard and important; the ways a bride should feel! The lack of professionalism and frank rudeness I encountered from the owner is something I have never experienced in a professional environment. My second fitting was mid-June and I arrived with my friend, masks in hand. I was told that only I could come inside with a mask (which is fine), but my friend asked if she could open the blinds on the door so she could see from outside the closed door. She was told rudely, "The blinds are open;" neither friendly nor accommodating. When I got inside, she told me "that's why I sent you a text message regarding visitors." I never received such text message and had no idea about visitation policies; if I had, I most certainly would have come alone. During the fitting, I was told, "that's not the way the dress is made, we would have to restructure the entire dress" for a minor bust adjustment. When I asked why the top looked the same and nothing had been done after three months she replied, "Well let me pin it! (Although it had already been pinned at the bust three months ago)." Being a bride during COVID, a lot of us have had stressful times trying to reschedule and postpone things. After three months of not seeing my dress at the second fitting, the only thing that had been done was a minor hem to the inner lining and the skinny boning/breast padding (the simple kind that goes in your average swimsuit top) was removed; that's it. This is after our first fitting when we discussed what the top needed to look like and how excited I was to see the dress at the second fitting with the top reconstructed. During an email correspondence to reschedule my second fitting, she even remarked, "Your dress is coming along great." Ultimately, I chose to pull my dress from her service due to the lack of professionalism, lack of progress to my dress and utter rudeness I experienced throughout my two fittings. I paid for the minor work that was done, was refunded the rest of the money that I paid in advance and charged a cancellation fee. I was quoted $650 dollars for my dress (I ending up paying $250 for another seamstress to alter it). When my friend went to pick the dress up for me in her sunroom, the dress was in its bag, draped over a chair (come on, at least hang it on something), and not one foot away from the dress was a bag of dog poop! I mean you really can't make this stuff up. It was disgusting and just goes to show how unprofessional this owner presents herself, especially during this global pandemic when cleanliness is so important. My ultimate advice; go to someone who makes you feel good any happy with your dress! Life is too short to have your dress done be someone who makes you uncomfortable and makes you feel as if you are putting them out for providing a service for you. Side note: I went to another seamstress the next day, and a few minor adjustments were made during my 30 min fitting and the dress already fits like a glove; the way it should be!
