I bought my dress on StillWhite, and accidentally ordered it too small. I was hesitant to have it altered, even though it was necessary, but after reading the reviews for LD Alterations, I decided to bite the bullet. We had 3 appointments: one for the top (we added a corset), one for the bottom (hemming and bustle added), and one for final try on/pickup. She made it a wonderful and seamless experience. In total, it took about a month for my dress to be reworked a decent amount. My wedding is in three days, so I don't have any professional pictures to post here yet; but I was too excited to hold off my review any longer. Hidden gem in the city! It is on the second floor of an office building and can be difficult to find but once you find it you won't regret coming. She is one of the best tailors in Indy and very affordable! She works within your time table and professional. I needed 2 pair of pants hemmed with a side cut in less than 4 hours. I called and actually thought I would get a voice-mail but the owner answered. I explained the situation and time frame and she told me she could have my pants done before 5 pm. I was at I-70 and Keystone exit. I quickly turnaround and 15 minutes later after parking on a metered space behind Whole Foods, I was trying on the pants for hemming. I quickly pulled on a pair of pants for sizing and the owner literally only needed one needle to get the hemming down pat. As promised, I arrived at 5pm and she had 2 pair of pants ready with a side cut. Went to LD to get 4 pairs of jeans plus a pea coat tailored, and had an amazing experience! The jeans were too long and wide at the bottom for the style I am going for, and now they fit perfectly for my body. The pea coat looks SO much better on me now. Multiple friends at work have complimented the way the alterations came out. It's a huge upgrade to the wardrobe, and I feel really good stepping out in these "new" clothes! Lalithe (the tailor) is super sweet, very responsive, and made a couple secondary adjustments to make sure everything fit perfectly without charging more for it. A bit like a speakeasy, but this place is 100% worth the search. I was given a very, very short notice of getting a tux/suit for a wedding I was in. She was here to save the day. I was in and she was finished with a suit jacket, a sports jacket, a pair of pants, and a nice vest within 2 days. Y'all, yes, TWO DAYS. It was during COVID, so masks were worn and the fitting went well. Everything looked great and communication between me and her was awesome. I did have a 33% off coupon from Yelp for checking in, but it was COVID and she said that business was down heavily, so I opted to not use it this time. The best. I'm very much into fashion. I like to tailor all of my clothes and more often than not, when I buy an item of clothing I have an idea for an alteration in mind. I moved to Indi just recently from the Chi and found LD alterations. Lola is the seamstress and quite frankly she is the best one that I've ever had. I am kind of a perfectionist and Lola is the same. She sets a high standard for herself and and is really creative when it seems like something cant be done or may be difficult to pull off. She really works with you to get it how you want it. You can tell that she really loves what she does and on top of that she is the sweetest. ITs possible that I may move back to Chicago at some point and I've already decided that if I do, I'll have to make trips back so I can have her work on my clothes. read more

I used LD alterations for a formal skirt that needed to be altered quickly before prom. The alterations took three visits and it still was not correct. I was still charged full price. The very nice seamless waistband now has three visible seams in sides, back and front. I have to wear the skirt with the zipper on the side now when it was originally supposed to be on center back. I now have a seam up the front of the skirt which should not be there. And she used white thread to sew a black skirt. Overall would not recommend. I chose this place based on prior reviews so wanted to post the truth. Poor workmanship. Do not take anything of value to be altered here. read more
