I've gone to her multiple times over the years. Her work is impeccable. When I moved here in 2006 I needed someone to take some clothes in. I look through the yellow pages and I found her just recently. She took two pair of slacks for me. I go in try them on. She knows exactly what to do and it's complicated work. It's more than just taking them in at the waist and depending on style and pattern, it just can't cut if you don't know what you're doing and she does. I highly recommend her. She's a little pricey, but i her expertise and knowledge is worth every penny. The way she cut the pants you can't even tell and they still moved and flowed when I walk.

Picked up and the dress hem was crooked, puckered and open on the ends. The shoulders were crooked as well and did not lay flat. Was told I had to discuss my concerns with the owner. When at the shop she stated I ruined the hem by wearing and asked why I didnt try on in the store at timw of oick up. She refused to help or give me my money back- now here is why I am really leaving this review- she grabbed my receipt out of my hand and started ripping it up. I told her I felt forced to leave a bad review and she threatened to get her lawyer- yelling at me that all of this was on camera. Stunned. Poor work and even worse customer service. Essentially, cutting the dress would cause all the beads to unravel. We talked through any options - we had only 1. Either create darts and "rouche" the dress on the sides (which would change the look entirely) or just leave it long and deal with it. The dress was lined, so I asked her to take up the liner. It was $30, which I suppose is good for her time, but in retrospect I probably could have done it myself for free at the library. The liner isn't visible, so it didn't need to be professionally done. We left it long. I dealt with it.

She got the corset top to fit me like a glove - as if it were made for me. I wanted to add removable off the shoulder straps that would fasten with small buttons. She ended up sewing one on and had me come in because she didn't like how it was making the dress look, it was causing a bulge. So she recommended to just sew the sleeves on seamlessly and then if I want to take them off the reception, just cut them (because it's not like I'm going to wear the dress again lol!). I'm so glad I went with her recommendation. I ended up loving the sleeves so much I didn't even feel the need to cut them off for the dancing. My dress was tailored perfectly to my height with heels. My dress was pretty detailed. Had many layers to the skirt including a horsehair layer. The corset had layered lace as well. After picking it up from Laura, it looked better than it did when I bought it! Additionally, there were some buttons in the back of the corset that were loose and she re-enforced those. Even the bustle was perfect. She does really hardy sturdy work but still maintained the delicate nature of the dress. In paying for the alterations we paid for half at our first appointment and the second half at the second appointment. Laura broke down all that we were paying which was really nice. I am so impressed with her work and will continue to return to her for all of my alterations.
