My friend moved away a few weeks ago, but she missed the DMV so much she came back to visit last week. So that means we had to grab dinner. We made a reservation for Joon in advance. The ambiance felt luxurious and elevated, and there was even complimentary valet parking right outside the restaurant. To start, our server brought a piece of pita with a small plate filled with feta cheese, chimichurri (?), and an herb-seasoned butter. I loved the soft texture of the pita, and my favorite was the feta cheese. HUMMUS - 11 +14 for braised lamb shoulder Another friend recommended the lamb hummus to me, and it was delicious but very heavy. The pickled onions really helped cut the fattiness of the dip, and the lamb was very tender. PISTACHIO SOUP - 16 The soup was super thick, so it was very filling. Overall, pretty savory and delicious, just incredibly dense. My friend and I agreed that we should have just gotten one bowl of soup to share instead of each getting one because we were pretty full at this point. LAMB CHOPS - 58 Sadly, this one was a bit of a miss. I don't think four lamb chops were worth the price of $58. The lamb chops, while flavorful, were really chewy and tough to eat. However, the rice (chelow rice with tahdig) that came with it was phenomenal. When our server placed the bowl down, we could smell the warm, buttery smell instantly. I could literally just eat the rice on its own because it was seasoned on its own. SAFFRON & ROSE WATER ICE CREAM - 16 This came with two scoops of ice cream and a cookie in the middle. The cold dessert was a refreshing way to end a heavy dinner on a hot summer day. While it wasn't incredibly sweet, we thought it was sweeter than most ice creams. The saffron and pistachio flavors were very prominent. Delicious, and we were very pleased with our dessert selection. I'd like to revisit Joon eventually because I think I would have much preferred their chicken harissa and their kabob selections over their lamb chops. I saw other tables order platters of kabobs and those looked phenomenal. Joon is also on inKind, so we were able to pay with the app and save on our meal.
Beautiful ambiance and good Persian food, just wish there were more vegetarian options for brunch. I came here a couple of years ago when the walk-up Kitchen Collective window was open. Joon's French Toast - The decadent French toast made with focaccia bread had a bold delicious lemon flavor, topped with raspberry compote and pecans. It was very rich and indulgent. The 4 large slices of toast was generous and the entree doubled over for dessert! Perfect for sharing. The Mango Mimosa was okay, for $12 - I wish the restaurant used fresh mango puree instead of housemade syrup. My friends enjoyed their meaty lamb meals. I would come back to try more vegetarian dishes (besides the omelet and falafel).
Amazing food, service and atmosphere overall. Went for brunch and the space is very big with multiple rooms and some private dining areas. The service was fast and food came out at a good pace. It wasn't too crowded at noon on a Saturday. All the food was very flavorful with unique characteristics for each. It wasn't heavy which I was surprised about. The French toast is so fluffy and made a great dessert. The best dish we had was the lamb meatballs and pistachio. Pomegranate seeds gave it a great tart balance that blended well with the sauce and lamb. These plates are meant to be family style. You must try a little of everything
It's been a while since I've said I wanted to try Joon so I decided to opt for their lunch prefix menu! It's an upscale environment and for lunch there were a lot of corporate-looking diners. It's a pleasant atmosphere and the staff carefully seats you tables apart so you're not all crowded and it's not too loud. Excellent. We weren't particularly hungry so we asked share a full menu item and then ordered a salad to share. The prefix comes with either a salad or a dip(?) and we opted for the dip. The kubideh kebab was tasty. It was juicy and fresh. The rice was good. The salad was questionable. We didn't really like it but we didn't hate it. I wondered if it was just the vinegar or maybe mustard that was hitting too strong. My friend thought maybe it was stale like they'd pickled it too long. Not sure what it was but we couldn't finish it. When we had eaten about 60% the server came by and offered us pita bread. It would've been nice to have it from the beginning... Overall I would return to try their other foods.
Truly one of the best meals of my life. Ambiance, service, and food were all perfection. I genuinely enjoyed every dish, but my favorites had to be the sour cherry rice, harissa chicken with fingerling potatoes, lamb and pistachio meatballs, and saffron ice cream with a rose cookie. I can't rave about this place enough; it was out of this world and I will be thinking about it for a long time.
Beautiful setting but highly overpriced and overrated. Party if 8 for mom's birthday otherwise I wouldn't go there. Love her cookbooks and have them but the ratio of portions and prices don't correlate.
Loved this place. Reservation for 7 around 6:30pm on. Tue, wasn't too busy. Was sat right after arriving and the vibe in here is great. The decor was modern and really felt like you're in a different world. The lady who assisted us (forgot her name) gave great details about the menu and what to order as well as helped me pick between the lamb chops and lamb shoulder. We ordered all kinds of appetizers, octopus, hummus with lamb, meatballs, and then the lamb shoulder for the main course with the saffron rice. Everything was delicious, and the rice was a large order. Everyone got their own and we could have easily split three between the table. If I was local I would have taken it home. Tisk tisk. I'll keep this on my short list when in the area.
I came here for their brunch, and the food was well worth it. We shared with a specialized brunch for around 35-38 dollars. I wasn't sure how much food it would be considering we were sharing but it was way more food than I expected. My favorites were all the dips. They also had a lamb with potatoes which was not my favorite. We did get plenty of bread though. The French toast was so good but by that point. I was very full. The service for this place was okay. It seemed like there was some preferred treatment for other tables, and we had to ask a few times for some extras. The ambiance is great! It's a huge place and they have free valet outside. If you're in the mood for some great food, definitely check this place out.
Absolutely loved the ambiance, the interiors are breathtaking. I loved that they have different dining areas which creates a cozier dining experience. We came for lunch on a Saturday and despite the restaurant being pretty full, it wasn't loud at all. Great acoustics! A lot of families with kids, which is great, since we came with our kids too. The food was great! The chicken kabob was tender, juicy, seasoned to perfection. Came with a huge side of rice that was enough for 4 people to share. The breakfast smash burger was also very tasty, the kubideh was very flavorful. Portion was big, specially in comparison to the chicken kabob. A big side of Joon fries comes with the burger. We loved the spices on the fries. Service was impeccable. Overall a great dining experience!
Overall: 5/5 Amazing experience from the aesthetics, acoustics, cuisine, and everything else. Food: 5/5 More often than not, when a restaurant has a short menu, the chef has mastered each dish. From what I tried, I'm pretty sure there's nothing on the menu that doesn't invite your taste buds for another more bite. Aesthetics: 5/5 Luxurious but not pretentious. The space is significantly larger than it looks from the outside. Despite dining during peak hours, I was able to have a conversation without raising my voice. Service: 5/5 Staff was very sweet, from the greeter to the waiter who knew the menu well and gave great recommendations.
This was my first time to Joon and it did not disappoint! I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick bite and tried the lamb hummus and a beef kabob. Both dishes were exceptional, as well as the dessert cake. I'm looking forward to returning for the dinner service. The interior of the restaurant is open and clean and staff were polite.
I love love love when I have a great experience that's the perfect culmination of food, ambiance, and service that makes me want to not only come back but not want to leave. No really they turned the lights off on us lol. Thanks to Yelp (Big Ups) I found this awesome gem Joon and was able go to experience their brunch this past Sunday. It was perfect to hang with a good friend and enjoy being catered to while falling in love with so many of the dishes that we had to catch a second and third breath. Paul did a great job taking care of us and making sure our bill was correct. He inquired if there was anything we enjoyed as much as to have seconds for and brought those items out. I really wish I could have taken home the dango and kashk-e bademjan but I was being cutesie and only had a small purse with me LOL. Paul also gave us a lot of information about the restaurant and changes they've recently made. We got up to leave out and as I stood next to the bar awaiting my friend to use the bathroom, I noticed they had multiple items on my favorites list stocked. That's when Gerard approached asking if he could be a service. I soaked up more information about Joon and vowed to come back. This was an overall great visit and I really appreciate being able to talk with team members to get more insight on how restaurant's foundation and goals. We bid our goodbyes and walked around to the other side of the bar and was greeted by a bartender who also answered questions for us and gave us information about upcoming events. This was a really good experience and it definitely helped restore my faith in dining out.

Occasion: birthday brunch. Reservations were easily booked and our preferences were honored. The hostess was friendly and patient with our seating accommodations and the waiter was knowledgeable and had perfect timing. Decor was less impressive than advertised online. Considering location, we expected a smidge of opulence. Nevertheless, there is adequate seating and the layout was inviting. A la carte menu was how we decided to go because we like to sample and graze but definitely need to carryout the rest, and this is not an option with the unlimited $55/person. Fair notice, it does explicitly state this at the top of their menu. Ordered: Nargesi Esfenaj | Persian Spinach and Feta "Omelette" | 14 Sosis Bandari Sandwich | 14 Lamb and Potato Hash | 22 Barg Kabob | 38 Beverages: coffee and flat water We didn't try the desserts but they seem intriguing. If it matters, we arrived at 1:30 pm. Brunch is over by 3 pm. Max 2-hour window. Bottom line, the omelets are not worth ordering. Sosis sandwich is like a can of Bush's baked beans and hot dog covered in gravy. Filet mignon is as average as Mexican skirt steak. Tahdig not bad. I rarely give 5 stars, but today is the day. This was my second time coming back to Joon for their weekend brunch and we were blown away again. The website says a Michelin starred chef works here and I believe it! The unlimited brunch portions are full sized, so plan to share them with others at the table. Everything was superb, but their French toast stole the show! Everything was superbly plated. We wanted to try one of everything from the menu, but we barely got to half the menu. My friend and I went here for their weekend unlimited brunch and it is hard to put into words how above and beyond the service was. I have a host of dietary restrictions, and so the staff ensured an incredible dining experience with constant communication with the kitchen, annotating the menu to make me aware of safe and unsafe foods, and then explaining each dish as it was delivered. Having extensive allergies can be burdensome, so the effort, intention, and compassion put into ensuring we had a good experience was so incredibly meaningful. Loved this place! Definitely get the seasonal vegetable hummus and the Persian love cake. You won't regret it! The hummus is drenched in extra virgin olive oil, a balsamic glaze and topped with roasted tomatoes, eggplant and Serrano chilies with some herbs. It also comes with feta but we asked them to hold it. The kabob meals come with a large serving of toasted saffron rice, roasted tomatoes and onions plus pickled onions and herbs. But the star of the meal was the Persian love cake. I've read about it and dug up some recipes, but I've never actually eaten one until tonight. The combination of the saffron, rose water glaze, pistachio cream and peach jam has to be experienced. I had a moment! read more
Came here with a huge group and we feasted! Lots of fresh pita, dips, falafel to start and then every type of protein from branzino to rib eye kabob to chicken kabob. Everything was delicious. For dessert we had a sampling of everything. The custard cheesecake was amazing and I think my favorite was the raspberry sorbet. So good. The servers did great with our big group. The restaurant was definitely loud but beautiful and worth every bite! read more

Fantastic dinner at Joon this week! This was our 1st visit, and will NOT be out last! Came with another couple for dinner. First, the decor is elegant and tasteful. Service, from the start, was exceptional, and food perfect. Once we finished the ample appetizers we found ourselves needing only two meals and the highly recommended cherry rice. Wow... The lamb "velosh?" was off the hook! Another big surprise was the cherry rice... Another wow! In addition to the meals we ended up ordering two bottles of wine, both tempranillos. Reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! The girls ended up ordering the dessert, so I'm honestly not sure what it's called, but it's a traditional Persian dessert with marzipan. Absolutely perfect way to end the evening! I can't recommend this place high enough. I came in not expecting much - something more like an upscale Moby Dick's or Shamcherey (sp?). This place is awesome! Our first time dining at Joon (brunch) and they had me at the Hummus! Just perfectly seasoned, not too coarse and served w. warm, chewy bread that's crisp around the edges. Wife had the Caesar w. chicken kabob and I had their breakfast burger. The burger was seasoned w. Persian inspired seasoning and came w. generous side of crispy shoestring fries, also seasoned- it was one of the best burgers I've ever had, so yummy and different in a good way! This place is a remarkable value considering the fine dining setting, kind service and quality of food created by a pair of celebrated chefs w. Michelin experience, located in a luxury retail strip in prime Tyson's real estate! All of this, yet I've paid this much or more for bar food, made by a line cook, served by a kid in a t-shirt! Joon deserves all of the credit and praise! read more
Visited in October 2024 with a small group. One member was Persian, and he ordered for the table. Overall, a very nice experience. We had a secluded spot in the restaurant, which was very nicely decorated. Food was all very good, would highly recommend the ground beef kabob. Service was decent overall. read more
I came here for a business happy hour and subsequent dinner meeting. The place is conveniently located in Tysons corner, although parking is a bit difficult to find, you could use the valet if needed. The place is pretty nice and modern, but extremely loud with poor acoustics. It does have a interesting variety of Persian food although it was a bit bland for my taste, the service was pretty good and it was good to go to a new restaurant in the Tysons area. Having said that the food is expensive making this once in a while kind of a place to go, definitely worth giving it a shot if you haven't tried it before.. read more
It's a bit tough to find. It's not in the main plaza but right next to Tiffany. When you're facing Tiffany, look yothe right and it's in the loop on the left side. The place is beautiful and quite spacious. A side note, they allow casual dress but we were waaaaay underdressed after our trip. We both got the Tuesday special. He got fried sardines and loved them. I got falafel and they were just ok. The hummus was good but runny. Second course he got salad and I got pistachio soup. Wow. The soup was excellent. It was creamy and the zereshk on top made it alive. Main course he got soltani. Added Barg was $35. I got joojeh wth baghali polo. Honestly we were both disappointed with the main course. First time I ever saw him not finish his rice. The rice was slightly mushy. Dessert was also underwhelming. The bastani had no pistachios. I thought the love cake was good though. Overall I give the food a 3.5/5. I got the Tehrani cocktail and it was good. Definitely overpriced for $19 but still nice. Dinner cost us $200 plus tip but we were super full when we left so the portions are generous. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed, as was he. The food was not up to the hype and we didn't find anything overwhelmingly special about the entire experience. I would come back, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Friendly service. Had a near perfect night at Joon. Was home for the holidays and wanted to meet up with my uncle for a nice dinner somewhere we could have a traditional Persian dinner. Joon checked that box while providing over the top excellent service, fantastic flavors in every single dish, impeccable ambiance, and an unforgettable evening. We started with two appetizers: lamb meatballs and falafel. I highly recommend you order both of these items. They both come with 5 portions, so good for a group to split up a taste. The lamb meatball may have been my favorite dish of the night, with a huge sour flavor explosion from the pomegranate glaze followed by a hearty finish. Falafel was seasoned very well and had a nice spice. We opted for 2 kabob platters for our group of 5. One with lamb shishlik and one with prawns. These skewers were a nice addition but only exploratory, not completely necessary. The star of the show here was the cornucopia of koobideh kabob and prime cut of barg. This was the best barg I've ever had, cooked perfectly to a medium. The chicken kabobs were fantastic as well. We ended up doing one platter with regular saffron rice, one with Fava Bean & Dill rice (baghali polo), and then added a side of the sour cherry rice. My favorite was the sour cherry but all were fantastic in their own expressions. Portions were perfect for our group and we had plenty of delicious leftovers to munch on later. We finished with the classic bastani saffron ice cream, which also came with a traditional flour cookie. Reminded me of my childhood when my father used to whip this up on special occasions. So good. Thanks to Joon for an amazing and unforgettable experience. To our waiter Eric, chef Chris, manager Carol, and everyone else we interacted with during this night, THANK YOU!! Four of us were delighted with our dining experience. Our service was stellar. An olive spread, goat cheese, feta and herb butter with pita was offered complimentary while we perused the menu. We went with fried sardines, lamb pistachio meatballs, and bademjan appetizers. All very different, and all well executed. We shared duck beryan for our entree. Presented beautifully, adorned with edible flowers, this dish had sour orange and barbery preserve sweet notes. It had a side of Persian rice where the outer layer brings a crunch and sour cherries along with spices brings a unique flavor. Our desserts included the Persian love cake , and the roulette . Both were balanced with spices that get you away from away from the typical heavy handed overly sweet desserts on many menus. Joon gives you Persian food at its finest, and is not to be missed. read more

Slightly upscale Persian restaurant with a swanky decor Have a variety of authentic (and unique) Persian dishes, which vary between being individual portions and portions that are meant to shared. I came here with my family and we split a bunch of things between the 7 of us. Everything was pretty solid. They did seat us at one very long table however, which made it far more difficult to both talk and eat than if they'd had a round (or round-esk) table. This place is absolutely amazing!! I have tried countless kabobs and this one really stood out. Especially being in Tysons where food is overpriced, I really thought this was an amazing deal next to other kabob competitors in the area. We went during lunch and got the prix fix lunch special. For $20 I thought this was a great deal and the food was absolutely amazing, so flavorful and juicy. And look at that pile of rice! My favorite. Was a large portion with saffron spices. Really the best kabob in the area in my opinion. The restaurant is really cute , very comfy chairs it has a nice vibe in there. Service was fast and efficient. read more

I love Persian food and was really excited about Joon coming to the neighborhood. The place is really cute! I love the colors and the furnishing is really nice and comfy. The servers are really nice and welcoming! Sadly I think the food fell short for me. The flavors just weren't there. There was also zero sumac which I though was odd. I love sprinkling sumac on my kubideh and rice.... That spice screams Iran. Anyways, sorry I don't have much to add because I just wasn't really impressed. I had high hopes because the chef came from a restaurant that I love, so I really hope things turn around and pick up for them. read more
We came back and tried tab sodas and new some dishes. I don't recommend tab sodas because they were filled with ice from bottom to top, only a few sips of soda. Nor do I recommend the desserts because they were very ordinary. The food is the best, including appetizers, salads, rice and kabobs. Fresh and delicious! 5*Complimentary Zeytun Parvadeh Starter 5*Doogh: carbonated yogurt beverage with mint. We liked it. 3*Sour Cherry & Tarragon Soda: basically a full glass of ice, not much drink at all. 3*Black Lime & Fig Soda: interesting but too much ice. 4*Mast-o Musir: a yogurt appetizer made of yogurt, Persian dried shallots, mint, rose petals: mild flavor. 4*Mirza Ghasemi: eggplant appetizer made of eggplant, sungold cherry tomatoes, onion, garlic, turmeric, lime, olive oil poached egg. flavor was light. 4.8*Shishlik (Lamb Rib Chop): five pieces of lamb rib chops were tender and flavorful. Option of salad or rice, we selected Persian flavored rice over plain rice. The best choice, as the rice was mixed with spices, golden, crispy, and very flavorful. 4.9*Jujeh Kabob: whole bone-in cornish hen, yogurt, lime, onion, butter, saffron, salad shirazi: we were not given the whole hen as the menu indicated, but just a few pieces of chicken drumsticks. Very tasty though. It was served with tomato salad. There was an of option of rice available. 4.8*Barg Kabob Filet mignon, onion, black pepper, saffron, lime. olive oil, Persian cucumber salad: Not much meat, but tender and flavorful. I love Mediterranean food so I was so excited to come here. The service was amazing, everyone on staff was nice and hospitable but the food fell all the way flat. My favorite item was the complimentary appetizer... Given the price point, I thought the food was going to be exceptional, but it was wayy overpriced for mediocre food. If you're coming from DC it's not worth the trek, the prices at Ala and Maydan are cheaper and taste 10x better. We ordered the Duck Fesenjoon and Barg Kabob. I didn't finish the duck. It was cooked well but the sauce was bland and did not go well with the duck so I couldn't eat it. The rice that came with it was too crunchy. The Barg kabob was ok, most likely bc it was filet mignon, but it needed a sauce or something. It was just lightly seasoned meat and crunchy white rice. We also ordered lamb Sanbuseh and mirza ghasemi for the table. The lamb sanbuseh was fine, it reminded me of a meat pie. However, avoid the mirza ghasemi. It sounds good on the menu but it's a saucy mixture and the only flavor that really came out was the tomato. It's a cute spot for a date night, so maybe come here just for drinks? read more

Went for lunch to celebrate Eid with my family on Friday. All of us were pleased with the food and hope to return again sometime soon. The buttery kubideh kabob was well made and delicious. The tadig was lovely and the side of mint complimented everything perfectly. The drinks were great, my brother even order two. The servers were attentive, friendly, and considerate. The decorations and seating were both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. read more
Awesome place - good ambiance, food, service, etc. We went for Restaurant Week and also got a variety of spreads and appetizers. Chicken and lamb entrees were great, as well as the cauliflower appetizer and the cake for dessert (delicious pistachio filling). Will definitely be coming back. read more
Nothing like having another Persian restaurant in Tyson's (where Chef Geoff's used to reside). Came in on a Saturday for lunch to a relatively empty restaurant. First area we were seated in had some condensation issues w their HVAC (hot day) and was dripping all over the table and seating area. We asked to be relocated and were seated in a new area. This might've been a problem if the restaurant had been packed. Server was super friendly and patient and brought provided us the drink and food menus. We started off with the Anar Margarita which was super tasty. Next, we ordered the mast khiyar as an appetizer which was really good and creamy. For entrees we (4 people) shared the kabob platter which included one kubideh, one barg and one chicken skewer. We also added another kubideh entree and a baghali polo. The kubideh was a bit flat and jelly like, the chicken was a bit dry but the star was definitely the barg. I'd come back and order just the barg and mast khiyar. The food was overall pretty good. I'd say that in my preferred order for Persian kabobs in the DMV: 1) Rumis 2) Shamshiri 3) Alborz 4) Amoo 5) Joon & Divan Wasn't the best kubideh I've had and wouldn't order it again. The chicken was t bad just a bit dry (also you get some boneless, some bone in). The barg had the best flavor and the baghali polo was good as well. The check at the end was all over the place. Items we never ordered appeared on it like 2-3 glasses of wine, entree we never ate as well as appetizers we never ordered. Came here for a birthday celebration with family! It is a busy place but luckily large. We had a reservation for a Saturday night. I started with an espresso martini, since it was my birthday being celebrated. Then I ordered three dishes for the the table. I ordered the Kashk-e Bademjan, a eggplant dip with crispy onions and green onions on top. It was very flavorful and a creamy texture. I ordered the Mushroom Khotesh, a creamy mushroom stew/curry kind of thing. Very very tasty, and it came with rice! The last item was the Joon Kabob Platter. It was the perfect size for four people. It came with everything - rice, kubideh kabob, barg, chicken kabob, grilled tomato, and grilled onion. It was all absolutely delicious! The three dishes were just a little more than needed for the four of us. But we brought some home as leftovers so very worth it. We even ordered dessert, saffron and rose water ice cream! It was so good and refershing, easy to eat after all the food. Definitely would come here again for special celebrations! read more

This is a solid brunch spot. I split the lamb and potato hash, breakfast platter, and Joon french toast with others. I would say the french toast was my favorite. It was nice and spongey, and I liked the bread that they used. The whipped cream with lemon curd was quite nice, and I liked the apples on top. The hash was pretty good as well, but I wish the potatoes were cut smaller and there was more crunch to them. But the lamb was quite tender and tasted really good. The breakfast platter was solid. The interior is nice, and the restaurant has plenty of seating. I thought the price for the portion size wasn't too bad. The service was pretty good, nothing really to complain about except she maybe didn't visit the table enough. My main complaint would be that they gave us water jugs for the table, and one of them was dirty near the top. It looked like there was something in it. The restaurant needs to do a better job of making sure their dishes are clean, as that was a little bit of a turn off. Overall, the experience was pretty good. Beautiful ambiance and decor and delicious food! We were a group of 3 and were able to be seated on a Saturday evening at 5:30 without a reservation, but it's definitely a busy place so would be better to reserve on the weekend. Here's what we tried: Roast half chicken - delicious, juicy, and came on a flavorful bed of mushroom stew Seasonal vegetable hummus - the BEST dish! sweet and creamy, you must order it Tahdig - we ordered the herbal rice and this one had fava beans inside so I'm not sure if those are the same dish, but it was delicious, herbal, and slightly fatty roast cauliflower and tomato - in a fairly spicy sauce, the tomatoes and pickled onions were good but the cauliflower was not particularly exciting, probably wouldn't get this one again eggplant - (forgot the name of the dish) very tasty and minty, eggplant flavor came through the flatbread was also so delicious, even on its own! and for dessert, the brûléed custard tart, flavored with cardamom, was lovely. highly recommend! read more

Food - 4 Service - 2 Ambiance - 4.5 I was going to give this review a 4, as most of the food was yummy, and the ambiance is really nice. It's a huge restaurant but they do a great job making it feel cozy because there's a lot of separate rooms, and nooks. But, the waitress Madlyn, although she started great with a lot of enthusiasm and suggestions which we appreciated, was a huge a turnoff towards the last 20 minutes or so. She got really quiet, and kept coming to our table to slowly clear it off. But what got us is she went so far as to take our water cups all away, and snatched one of our napkins too. It was very abrupt and rude. There were many tables left still eating and drinking, so they were not anywhere near closing down. I have never had water cups snatched up that way, it was startling, and extremely off-putting. We went from raving to quite upset at the end, we were annoyed we even left a generous tip at that point. I learned from this not to tip until we are about to leave. Back to the food, I love the starter plate, it's a compliemtary pita plate with three little dips, delicious start. The hummus app and the lamb meatballs, again very delicious. We got a number of other main dishes to share, and I did not love a couple of them. The salad we got was way overdressed and heavy, and the cherry rice was just okay. The fish dish we got already had rice in it, so the cherry rice was an unncessary addition. The filet mignon was a little tough, and not flavorful. I would go back if I had a different waitress and would probably focus mostly on the small plates (and maybe try another meat dish) because they were the highlights of the night. Parking is a little interesting, they are located on the right side of the tiffany building, you can either use the valet or parking near the tiffany store (not right in front, unless they are closed). read more
I can count in one hand the number of Iranian Restaurants that I have ate in the US. After reading the info about this new restaurant in Tyson, I knew I have to stopped here and try. It is located in the same block as Tiffany & Co. I do like the deco and the ambience of this restaurant. It definitely feels upscale but homey. Service is great. Our waitress is very attentive and knowledgeable. Our water bottle and bread were refilled promptly. Now for the food. Instead of the usual Kabob, we decided to get the Duck Beryan and the Barg Kabob. We also orders the Lamb & Pistachio Meatballs for appetizer. The lamb appetizer is amazing . I never have anything like this before. The Duck is very flavorful and is a huge portion. Now, the meal isn't cheap. For us, it's about $250 before tips. I'm torn on this. The food is very good but I'm not sure if the price is justified. But I guess that's the price you have to pay for a chef who used to worked at a one Michelin Star restaurant in DC. read more
Situated in the former Chef Geoff space, Joon's interior design/decor was well thought out for the perfect ambiance. Beautiful spaces with perfect levels of lighting from lovely fixtures, fixated with marble tables and luxurious color tones. Our server Madison really made the night a memorable experience. She was attentive, funny, and accommodating. Each table is immediately set with a small sampling of dips and bread - great way to start the meal. The food overall was good. Branzino was fresh and tender, the eggplant dip savory, and the kebob dish flavorful. Downside - the prices are quite high, definitely upscale (dress appropriately). I was really excited about the tadigh rice..which was ok - it wasn't as fluffy as it should be, a bit dry. The chicken kebob was also a tad dry. I wouldn't order the dessert again, it was underwhelming. We'll definitely be back to try the other dishes! read more

The steak kabob was extremely tender and cooked just right. I enjoyed the various flavor combinations like the cucumber and pomegranate ariels. The chicken was juicy and also flavorful. read more

Excellent service, and food! We ate pistachio lamb meatballs, hummus, and Joon Kabob platter and this was enough- plenty!- for the three of us. This was the best way to try as much of the food as possible. Loved it all. Happy Mother's Day weekend! read more

Overall, a lovely experience! Our server, David, was wonderful. Went way back in January and ended up doing the restaurant week menu. We liked all that we ordered and left incredibly full. Rice portions were absurd and we saw a ton of waste coming from other tables as well. While this was a good experience, it's not somewhere I see myself returning. The food was great overall and elevated but the the flavor of most, I can get elsewhere at a much more reasonable price point. read more
