The food was terrible. We have been to this restaurant for happy hour before and the flatbread was soggy but we didn't say anything and just chalked it up to a bad night. We came again tonight and the garlic parmesan(dry rub) wings were completely tasteless. I sent them back because they were just that bad and I honestly just couldn't see paying for that. instead of the manager coming out and speaking to us about it the server had to come and tell us that the manager said that was just how the wings are and they're not going to be any better if they remake them. I truly felt this was inappropriate and the server should not be tasked with this explanation as most times it is the server that people blame when something isn't right. Being that I really just wanted wings I ordered the garlic mild wings(wet sauce) hoping that they would be good this time. I ordered a side of the sauce as well in case they needed more flavor. The sauce was literally just mild sauce. So, my wings were mild wings with possibly a little garlic in the sauce. This is very disappointing! No manager still! We are 0/2 with food at Jonathan's Grille in Franklin, TN. They have a great happy hour listed but if happy hour food is subpar then there is no point in going to eat food there. 0/10 recommend. The server was good to begin with but after the wing issue she was not in it mentally so then ended up not really taking good care of us. No manager ever came by our table. What a disappointing trip to Jonathan's. It's going to be very difficult to talk ourselves into trying again. Thanks to Yelp, we found this restaurant, and it's now one of our favorites outside the city limits. Sports bar ambiance with TVs on every inch possible, airing whatever sports you can think of. Got seated right away and got instant service. Ordered pretzels, a wrap, and a burger. Everything came out as expected and was very filling. Get the onion rings, they are delicious. Only thing that bothered me was that we were given the check. Then we were stared at until we paid said check, which we were watching something and not ready to pay. But I feel as if the waitress wanted us done and that's what warranted the stares. Was awkward! read more

Our visits are becoming less frequent, however. Tonight, after being seated, we waited 7 minutes before our server arrived to take our drink order. TL;DR - the service was poor, the food and drinks are mediocre, and there are so many better places to eat in the area. The reviews for this place seemed decent, so we stopped for appetizers and a drink while waiting for an evening wedding reception to begin. Based on our experience, I would recommend skipping this place and trying another restaurant instead. We were greeted by several employees inside the front door who told us there was a wait for a table but that the bar was self-seating and we could go look to see if there were open seats. There were not, so we returned to the host stand where they then suggested we go look in a back room (he gestured vaguely in the direction of the room) to see if there were open seats back there. As we started to walk that direction, we saw a table that had just been cleared by the bar, so we sat down. At this point I was already a little annoyed since they had multiple employees standing at the front but told us to go look around for seating ourselves. It took a few minutes after we were seated for a server to stop by and ask what we wanted to drink. My boyfriend ordered a soda, and I ordered a margarita. Before I had a chance to also ask for a water, our server turned and left without even handing us food menus. We looked up the menu online and waited a while for him to bring us back our drinks. He turned to begin walking away and I asked him if we could order food. He turned back around and was like oh... sure. So we placed an order for some wings and nachos and I asked for a glass of water. He never brought the water, so when the food runner brought our plates out, I asked her for water. She also failed to bring any to the table. Eventually when our server stopped back I asked for water a third time and finally received it. At this point, we were running short on time and needed to leave for the reception, so I tried to get our server's attention to ask for the check. He never returned to our table, and I couldn't catch his eye, so I got up and asked one of the bar tenders for the check for our table, grabbed some cash out of my bag, and handed it to our server on our way out the door. My wife and I had the pleasure if dining at Jonathan's Grille in Franklin last night. Overall, it was a good experience; the food was tasty, the service was adequate and the prices are reasonable. Then the check came. Imagine my surprise when I see a "Hospitality Fee" added to the check which amounted to about 3% of the bill. The fee, which is suspiciously similar to the credit card fees charged by some restaurants, except here, everyone pays. There was no notice on the door or the menu. They just sneak it in. What is worse, when we discussed this with our server, she said that she is seeing reduced tips since the new fee kicked in. For me, I am done with this poor behavior and wouldn't eat there again. read more

If you like really loud places, this is the place for you. If you do not stay away. My watch measured 100 decibels. Everyone was friendly. The food came out in a timely manner. The teriyaki chicken bowl was amazing. The pizza rolls were okay. Haven't been there in awhile and stopped in for a quick dinner! Staff was nice and quick for the most part. They were sitting us in this area that had a leak so asked for a new table, not sure why they were seating people there, they had a bucket right next to the table. My kiddo liked the grilled cheese but not the fries and it was a bit pricey for a kids meal. House Salad and spinach dip was great! The food is delicious and the service is always good. We sat outside for our last visit and it was a lovely patio. They have a BOGO happy hour for beers which is amazing. However, if you order ANYWHERE but the bar, you get both beers at once. By the time you finish your first, the second is warm and flat. They claimed they "can't keep track of beers" so they have to bring both at once. They also charge an additional 3% on all drink purchases. We love Tin Roof and they give chips for your second. There was nothing special or wowing about this place. We drove from Virginia to Franklin. We hadn't eaten since breakfast at 10AM. We sat down to eat at 725. We had to call our server over on three separate occasions for assistance and once she was sitting with other staff texting. The food was basic. I've had better pizza from Dominos. Outdoor seating is the big draw. Though being nestled among three hotels, it can be unusually busy during off-peak times. The service was slow and inattentive. Fish tacos and the kale salad were good, healthy, and generously portioned. The chili was sweet, so meh. The southwestern salad with the "blackened" chicken was bland. We stayed across the street from here for a week. We ate here almost every night. The food and service was so great. We could not believe the huge portions of food you received. One night my husband had end cut of Prime Rib it had a bit of pink in it & was the best prime rib we ever had. Wish I knew what seasonings they use for their meats & chicken. Best cheese sticks ever!!! Sure wish it was here in Il.. Will defiantly go back on our next trip to Franklin.
