It is surrounded on all sides by new apartments and businesses and a car dealership. Fortunately a landscaping company has been overseeing the conditions and there are many old growth live oaks providing much shade. There is a short driveway on which to park on, but no road running through it and it is surrounded by a 4 foot perimeter fence. The cemetery is about an acre, perhaps larger in size. The majority of the graves found here date from the late 1800s and the newest ones I could find was a WW1 sevice member buried here in 1975. There was also another WWII service member buried here in 1993 whose picture is included in this review. Some of these gravemarkers actually tell some interesting stories as are pictured below in the review. There are freed slaves and American native Indians buried here. And like a lot of cemeteries from this time period, there are several infants and young children found interred here. Boatright is a recognizable historicle name found here and more Boatrights can be found at the Oak Grove cemetery 5 miles away on Spicewood Springs Rd. There is a small rocky memorial wall which is dedicated to all the lost and unidentifiable graves. Judging by the lack of any burials past the 1990s, I think it's safe to assume this is no longer an active cemetery. If you enjoy walking through old cemeteries, this landmark should be added to your list.

The cemetery required a marble and bronze flat marker which was more elaborate than I expected. Becky made the process easy and I ended up with a beautiful marker that had a flower vase that could be turned over when not in use to make a completely flat surface. Years have passed and a few months ago I went out to the cemetery and found that the vase had been turned over and placed down in it's holder. I tried to pull it out and found that it was stuck. I was afraid of breaking it if I forced it. I went to B-Remembered yesterday and asked Becky and Randy how to turn it back over. They told me what was involved and Randy said he was getting ready to go down to San Marcos and would stop by the cemetery and see if he could get it out of the holder. I received a picture of it today, all cleaned and shiny with the vase sitting up. I asked Becky what I owed them and she said it was OK, he just stopped by on his way to San Marcos. It has been 10 or 11 years since I purchased it, I doubt I would have received that kind of service from any other company. If you ever have the need to purchase a monument, be sure and at least visit with Becky and Randy at B-Remembered. I don't think you will regret it.
