My favorite part about scanning through these reviews is the excuses provided by your marketing department. Hilarious. Here's the thing though; when the sales person speaks to you about using Johnson, they won't worry too much about telling you a realistic moving spread. They'll do what ours did, "well, it could take that long... but that's the exception. Hardly ever happens". Well, keep reading folks. Obviously it happens ALL the time, and worse. Our moving spread when through yesterday for our household goods and here we sit today, no stuff. No word from anyone on when it will arrive. We had our car scheduled to be shipped as well, but cancelled that service and had my mother drive it down for us. It's an 11 hour trip straight through, approximately, and it would've taken Johnson the better part of 3 weeks to get it to us. Even after they had our vehicle in their possession for a whole week, it wasn't scheduled to be delivered. In addition, our "moving coordinator", informed us that it was just "not being tracked", obviously leading us to believe it was in route, only to find out later it wasn't even on their schedule. Part of customer service is having the guts to deliver news to customers, whether it's uncomfortable for you or not. So save me the, "well your paper work CLEARLY states", because I don't care about your loopholes and fine print. As a consumer, you need to know that these companies schedule based on how much they can squeeze into a route and a trip as possible to maximize their profits. Not getting your belongings to you in a timely fashion. They just called (after I emailed them) and informed us that our belongings won't be here until tomorrow. Most likely yet another lie. Now 2 full days outside our moving window. You are thieves and liars. The end. read more

I had a similar experience to the posters who wrote in detail about the experience of the move taking too long and items being damaged, missing or stolen. I chose this company over three other movers the recommendation of a reputable company who refers clients to Johnson on a regular basis. The estimator was extremely nice and efficient and responsive. Later I was assigned a move coordinator, whom I never met at all, but who was also generally responsive. My packer was fine. However, no move is successful when the driver is dishonest. Similar to the other posters, the company sent only three guys to load my stuff, even after I told them that I had 5-6 guys from another moving company on my last interstate move. The driver was late to load the truck and exceeded the three hour reserved time by more than 100%, taking 6.5 hours to load the truck. Among the items missing upon arrival to my home were my guitar. I know it was stolen, along with some other desirable items. Other items were missing, broken, damaged (leather chairs stacked without padding causing each chair to scratch and rip the leather seat of the chair beneath it) broken glass on framed art. The company provides lamp boxes but one of my lamps arrived completely unwrapped and with a broken neck like a sad, dead swan. The unloading crew did not reassemble items they dissembled on packing, they had internal fights with each other on my property, and they did not bring heavy items to the rooms where they belonged. By way of example, I note that a box marked "bath" was left in the garage. That is just one example. Of course my "lost" items were never found. I will say that most of the reps I dealt with after my move were responsive in terms of returning calls and emails (I was fairly hysterical), that Johnson sent out local people (who were perfectly appropriate and nice and affiliated with another company) to retrieve debris, and also sent an employee from that same affiliated company to move things around my home that were not put into the proper rooms by the delivery crew. Johnson also covered the charges for exceeding the move out time out of my unit. However the loss and damage incurred by the irresponsibility and dishonesty of the driver and his crew is inexcusable. I have moved numerous times and never, ever had one single item either missing or damaged. I do not recommend this company because there is no way to guarantee a reputable driver and crew to move your precious belongings. read more

Wow....surprised to find out they have no accountability for the safe moving of your goods. If they drop, break, or ruin something even through their own negligence, their liability is $0.60/lb. Of course you can buy additional insurance to cover their negligence. What other business in the country can get away with this type of extortion? read more

Preference would be to issue 1.5 stars. Had a move from Denver to Southern California earlier this year. I had a positive experience with United Van Lines a decade ago, so I decided to give them another chance. Oops. Victoria, the sales rep, was prompt in returning calls. The move coordinator regularly did not return my calls. Even 24 hours before we were supposed to move out, we did not have confirmation they would show up the next day. They did eventually show up the next day. Told the one-hour window when the truck would arrive and to expect a call from the driver. Never got the call, the truck arrived 45 minutes outside the window. Move-out was excruciatingly long. We gave and/or sold a LOT of stuff, so we did not have a tremendous amount of items. Took six hours to get our stuff out. Driver said he would have our stuff at destination the coming Sunday or Monday, and he would call. Never heard from him. Tried calling the move coordinator, she said she would call back...didn't. Finally, the truck driver called late Tuesday night to say he would arrive Wednesday (after his original estimate of Sunday or Monday). Three items were scratched or broken, including a framed picture, dining room table, and a vase. The most troubling was that it didn't seem like they cared. I even got lectured via e-mail from Victoria about "airing dirty laundry" to a group of people I hit 'reply to all' on an e-mail she sent. I regret my choice in using this company. read more

Quick follow-up on this nightmare of a moving company: The delivery date was changed 4 times before our things finally arrived today. We found that my roommate's citizenship papers had been removed from a packed box and crammed into a random piece of furniture. Additionally one of our boxes was just plain missing. Very strange. Now we have to monitor for identity theft for the next several months. This company is a nightmare. read more

no...you did nothing to please me. You NEVER contacted me...you did nothing to make me happy. You did not follow our initial agreement (boxing the mattresses BEFORE you put them in the truck...you did it after you ruined them at the warehouse). Before I decided to ruin your online reputation I tried on over 20 occasions to work the issue out...with NO CONTACT from you company. I will never give up in my sincere care for future potential clients to let them know what type of business you run...and to make sure Realtors do not tell their clients to use your company. To date I have diverted 11 moves away from your company. I will continue to due so until the day I die...pretty stupid decision on the part of your company to ignore me read more

I understand that no estimate can be exact. I also feel that since an inventory of items was given, and part of giving a quote is knowing about how long these moves can take, that the estimate given to me should have been much closer to the actual time it took. We were quoted 4 hours to move 6 items, and it took almost 7.5 hours. We did not even get 2 of the items rebuilt at the new location because we were so far behind schedule already. The men who did the move also needed to borrow tools since they came unprepared. Besides not having the right tools for the job, the men who moved the furniture were very friendly and polite to work with. I feel like the estimate was very far-fetched. We got several quotes that were less than what we paid, but we chose Johnson because they had the best price overall price quoted. I understand a quote being an hour to an hour and a half off, but the time it took to move these items was almost twice the time actually quoted. We sent them the above information as a complaint and asked that something be done to reconcile the situation, and they refuse to do anything to make the customer happy. They have not only lost a customer in me personally, but they have also lost customers in the two men that I arranged the move for. read more

Not too bad....they're notoriously difficult to get in touch with, good luck having your messages returned. BUT, when we got our stuff, they were very prompt, and quick. None of our stuff was broken, and the guys were super nice when they delivered it all. read more

Review update. Accounting fixed the storage billing error. I received a settlement for the four damaged items. The moving insurance I purchased was for "replacement cost". The compensation was less than 1/3 of what I paid for the items and nowhere near replacement cost. read more

I had to relocate from Colorado to California. I got a few quotes from different moving companies. I have to say, depends on which agent you have, you will get different quality of service. I happened to have 2 different agents from the Johnson Storage & Moving come in for quotes (by accident). As far as manners and services went, the older agent was much more professional and I went with her quote in the end. The movers did a good job loading/unloading my stuff. The dish-packer did a really great job wrapping everything I have in the kitchen. The inventory and bingo sheet they provided helped a great deal when it comes to making sure everything got delivered. The truck arrived as scheduled. All the furniture and boxes were in great shape. I am still in the process of unpacking but have yet to find damages to anything! I am very happy with their services and would use them again next time I move. read more

Bottom line: this company is the model for what a moving company should NOT be like. Once they found out I declined insurance because my homeowner's covered it (which was a lie,) they packed our goods unsafely and I specifically asked them to individually repack my wife's grandmother's china. Do you think they did that?? Nope and guess what.....yep, it's smashed. I have calls in and nobody seems to care and I will tell you something....this is my 16th move and by far the worse experience I have ever had. This company shouldn't even be able to be in business. Your packing and unloading is horribly flawed and your guys are careless. My Harley was scratched and I could go on and on with everything else YOU BROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want and demand an explanation as to how your "professionals" could botch something like this so bad. Again, once you knew we declined your insurance, essentially giving you free reign, you gave us less than sub par service... Sickening and I don't know how you show up in the morning to work knowing your haphazard ways of doing business, packing and loading people's important belongings. There are certain things that are irreplaceable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No money will fix my wife's family's china!!! Does that resonate in your thick skulls Johnson Moving!!!!!???? How would you feel if it were you that was treated this way......Look at your reviews, all negative ones say the same thing....your careless, unprofessional and at best lucky to be in business. Shady, irresponsible management that washes their hands clean once you have our money. You should be ashamed to even advertise you have an A+ rating......amazing what online positive review services can do to your overall score.....I will spend my entire day ensuring your have negative reviews on every site I can find!!!! Pathetic and I hope to never have to use your services again...in fact, I'd rather sell it all or load it onto a Uhaul myself....at least I know who is responsible if it gets broken then. Furthermore, I received no apologies, the manager I talked to was a total A** to me on the phone, wouldn't help and HIS attitude sucked at best along with Angies, our so called account representative. All she could tell me is she didn't blame me for being upset!! Really??? That's it, not even an offer to fix it. Scratched my Harley and at .60/lb my 600 lb machine would get me $360 which isn't enough to repaint it!!!! I cannot reiterate enough that you are gambling big time by using this company. They don't stand behind anything they say they do and if you look at the BBB reviews (which btw are VERY difficult to get to stick, you will see that nearly 70% have had negative experiences. It's up to you, but heed our warnings. It seems to be all 5 stars or 1 star. Send your A team every time and maybe you will get better ratings. Office staff, you're hopeless and worthless... Once you had my money, you disappeared into the sunset and once your guys were off the hook and only held to the .60/lb you packed my stuff horribly, broke a large amount of items and we are only half way through the unpacking process. I do NOT believe that your crews do not know the status of my insurance selection. THEY DO because they told me!!!!!! Lies, Lies and more lies on top of receiving no valid response. The GM has a horrible attitude, is arrogant and should be FIRED !!!!! DO NOT USE THESE CLOWNS!!!! read more

I had a terrible experience with this company. They gave me their word and in writing how much the move would cost. The day of the move, the MOVERS from this company showed up and challenged the price on the contract. They said the contract that had been agreed upon was not a binding contract and that I would owe them more. They had me in a spot. We needed to move that day and everything was set up for the move. They told me that they would not start the move until I agreed to pay more. Also, there were many items broken. I know for sure that I had an item stolen. I saw it before the move and during the move and it was gone upon arrival. I don't care how much they try to apologize for the bad experience I had, it doesn't erase the fact that it happened and I suffered monetarily and psychologically from the trama they put me through. read more

I went thru Johnson and storage for my move and although the driver and crew were great at each end, I felt the office staff were really deceptive in their sales tactics and i ended up spending for 2000 pounds I didn't use because Victoria in Denver completely overestimated the weight of my belongings - she told me they always overestimate so the customer doesn't have to pay more - i then asked if i'd get a refund between the estimated weight and actual weight andt she said yes. After the move, when the driver said i'd be getting a refund, i contacted the office and they said the order was for no refund and based on the estimate - why would anyone agree to an overestimated amount - i certainly didn't and paid for 2000 pounds of empty space. Not only that, they said they'd send a gift certificate for a good review - i did that before i found out about the poundage discrepancy and when i got the gift certificate for Target there was a zero balance. Buyer beware of Johnson Moving & Storage in denver acting as agent for united van lines and Victoria as moving rep and brenda in the office. read more

Let's face it- what you want out of a move is for your stuff to be treated with respect and care, and for it to arrive intact. There will always be hiccups, and you have to roll with it; the mark of a good moving company is that they help you deal with the problems. And PLEASE read the paperwork- all movers limit their liability for items you don't declare as high value, so take the time and do it! Recently moved to Denver from Washington DC. Company was very professional in their dealings with us. Arranged for a rep to come and give us a timely estimate, then updated it quickly based on additional info and changes we provided them. Packers (from a local United franchise, not Johnson) were a bit haphazard in labelling boxes but did a beautiful job in terms of protecting everything. Fragile and high-value items clearly indicated. Art (driver) and his crew were great at communicating with us. When there was a problem that resulted in our delivery being delayed by a few days, Art informed us of it and apologized profusely. The unloading crew was careful and protected our floors as they worked. We are still unpacking, but everything of high value certainly arrived intact and undamaged. read more

Don't hire them !!! for international moving Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews about this company. I hired them because of the sales rep who contacted me, she seemed to be professional and was very fast. She was probably working for an external (outsourcing) company. It took 4 months from Houston, TX to Spain, to deliver all my stuff (two pallets), I thought they lost my personal belongings. The main problem is that you will never receive any information about where your boxes are. I sent them 3 or 4 emails a week, without any success. Fortunately, I received an email from the receiver company in the Netherlands and was easier to get information from them. However, they told me that my goods were on hold. Trying to understand why, I contacted again with Johnson International, after a bunch of emails I learnt that was because someone in the bookkeeping department kept the order as "unpaid". I had to send a copy of the payment statement as a proof of payment to Johnson, to the Netherland company, etc... Finally, they released the stuff. I never received any word like "I'm sorry" "We apologize"..... PLEASE NEVER CONTACT THEM, I HAVE NEVER WORKED WITH ANY COMPANY AS DISASTER AS THEM, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY STILL EXISTING read more

ethan miksche gave me a quote, sent me the papers to sign and then never called with appointment time--so I called him and I was not on the schedule. This was the day prior to my move. This is the worst moving company we have ever used and we had twelve prior long-distance moves. The packers did not pack properly and used 20-30 more boxes than necessary. The driver demanded a new inventory when he saw the excess. The Denver crew attempted to remove legs from antique tables and left the tables in pieces. A leg was broken on an antique country French settee and the driver tried to glue it together--just a few examples of the damage. The claim process puts the onus of adjusting the claim on the insured instead of the insurer. Try a different company. read more

Horrible communication!!!! The sales rep was fine, packing and loading truck fine but was told stuff delivered between 5- 10 days and after 9 days I had to make at least 15 phone calls before I found someone that told me I wouldn't get my stuff the next day. It would be another 3 days or total of 12. I was told I could file a claim for get $100 for each day late but have left 5 messages requesting how to file claim and no response. Part of our stuff was sent to storage and part to an apartment. The grill couldn't be found when stuff delivered to apt so they said they would bring it back once stuff unloaded in storage. Had to yell at 3 different people because after 7 days my stuff was still sitting on a truck at storage but not unloaded. They did finally bring grill but it was exasperating. I would never recommend them. read more

This company does not reimburse you for all the damages even though they tell you it will be paid. The adjuster came to our home and viewed the damage and assured us it would be paid in full. We would NOT recommend you buy the extra insurance costing $1,000 as this company is NOT going to honor this contract nor will they reply to you when you contact them regarding damages. We watched as boxes were dropped in front of us and a large expensive tree pot was dropped in the van which broke into pieces. We had carpet damage but where the contract said 100 percent coverage this was not the case. We would tell you to look elsewhere before using this company. read more

We recently used Johnson Storage & Moving for our local move in Aurora and could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. Their office staff was accommodating to our schedule changes and kept in touch daily while we worked through our closing issues. When move day finally came the crew was great right from the star, even calling us 30 minutes prior to arriving to make sure we were up and ready. The 4 movers were polite and very professional. They took great care prepping our houses before moving then took care to protect our furniture inside the home before taking it outside. Move was completed on time and with no damage, We would definitely recommend Johnson Storage & Moving. read more

My wife and I used Johnson Storage and Moving for a local move from Lakewood, Co to Arvada Co. I have to say the employees did an incredible job! The truck showed up right on time, the morning of the move, with a crew of six people along with the move coordinator. This was a large move, two story 5 bedrooms. We had to be out of the house and into our new one in 1 day and this crew stuck with it until every last item was off the truck and in the new home. They all had an outstanding attitude, were professional in appearance and treated our furnishings as it they were their own. Not one item was misplaced, damaged, or broken. The attention to detail and customer satisfaction seemed to be paramount with everyone involved. The move coordinator was in contact with me continuously during the last couple of weeks making sure I had everything i needed to make the move process successful on move day. During the unloading of the truck the whole crew made sure that all boxes and furniture were in the right rooms. After the truck was unloaded, late in the evening, the crew even stopped and took stock of where everything was. They asked my wife and me if we liked where the furniture was or if we needed things moved around a bit too different rooms. This was pretty amazing after a long hard 12 hour day. I would recommend Johnson Storage and Moving to anyone who has moving needs - Great Company to work with. Steve N. read more

Very good service. Gave me 30 free boxes so I did not have to purchase any on my own. The actual movers on both ends were great. Very helpful and very friendly. Items were wrapped and transported very well - NOTHING was broke or damaged. I think that was because of the job Johnson did in wrapping the items. Very good job!! My only issue is that when the goods got to my destination the drive said I did not need to check off the numbers. I think that because of this one item was left on the truck. It was partially my fault - but the driver said more than once it wasn't needed. Despite that - I would recommend Johnson. They did a very good job. read more

HORRIBLE experience! They screwed up almost everything that they could. The sales person promised us everything under the sun. Another employee told me that "anything was possible to take care of us". Then the day of the move came. COMPLETELY different story. Don't do it. Do not use these movers. I had moved with United multiple times in my life from NJ to Chicago to Denver to LA and back. Never once did I have an issue with any damage. That is why I chose to use Johnson for a LOCAL move. Johnson movers were careless and more worries about money and tips. Many things were damaged from gasoline on my Ethan Allen furniture to the newer washer dryer marked with dents. The topper was finding boxes stacked in the garage clearly marked fragile and with "up arrows" tossed upside down on the top of the stack. Just got a denial for the claim because I packed the boxes and they did not show any damage from the outside. Surprise surprise....things break when you throw the box marked fragile upside down. Customer service was a joke and I would never ever use them or suggest that anyone uses this company in the future. Not professional and careless!!! read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. They were 2 weeks late delivering our belongings, many items were broken or ripped, they refused to compensate us fully despite having purchased replacement insurance, and they almost never returned phone calls. They had two months to get our belongings across the country to our new home. The packed up our home and were responsible (and paid well) for storage. And yet, on the day it was supposed to arrive, it hadn't left storage in our home state. TWO MONTHS and they hadn't even scheduled the move. After calling daily - and almost never receiving a call in return - we discovered that the company had mis-entered the move date in their system. We brought this to their attention, and they lied and said it was the date on the contract. We had to fax them a copy of the contract to prove our case - to which they replied that they had had the contract all along and blamed it on a single employee. I want to point out that this was THEIR employee, so I see no way this shifts the blame. Our stuff arrived weeks late, and they refused to cover any hotel charges in the meantime or to compensate us for the late arrival - because they sill maintain that they are not at fault since the computer date was off. Again, off only because they made the error. But the only way they would release our stuff to us was for us to agree to their claim - and we needed our stuff. We were blackmailed. and many items were damaged. Luckily - or so we thought - we had purchased insurance for the full replacement value of the items. We had an appraisal, and the damage was over $3000. Finally, months and months later, we received a compensation check - for $1000. Not even enough to replace the torn, stained armchair we had bought a month before the move. Finally, we booked all of this through their parent company - United - who refuses to get involved. Apparently, this is just a loose entity of moving companies, none of which bears any responsibility for another. So why book through the large company? there is absolutely no protection. read more

DO NOT USE. Johnson Storage was the local mover for United for our move from Lone Tree to Stamford Connecticut. We previously used UNITED for several moves across country and had no problems. The easy part was paying and having the items removed from the apartment. I should have followed the movers to see how the truck was packed. I also should have looked into the truck when the items arrived in Stamford. I should have kept receipts for every item we own. Be warned! We purchased full value high item insurance instead of the 60 cent policy. The move was the worst I have ever experienced with several thousand dollars worth of damaged, lost or broken items. When the movers bringing items into your new home apologize for the condition of the items, you know you have a problem. They said that the company uses summer help, not professional movers. It took us 3 months to resolve our full value insurance claims and appeal the intial claim. DO not cash any checks until you are satisfied with the settlement. If you don't have reciepts for your big ticket items and the time to email and call the claims office in St. Louis, good luck. read more

We had used this company several times, but events subsequent to our recent cross-country move have left us astounded. We purchased full replacement value insurance, inclusive of pieces and sets cover. United's Rights and Responsibilities policy clearly enables United the option to elect cover replacement cost at "current market value, regardless of age." They damaged an Ethan Allen sectional and recliner. The furniture had been lightly used, in our former home's basement area, and is only 4 years old. United has floated an offer, with no explanation, that equates to roughly 56% of the current market value of the items damaged. They have locked down and are now forcing us to arbitration to resolve the claim. They have completely ignored all of the information we have provided (from Ethan Allen), and seemingly taken a number out of thin air. They are unresponsive, uncommunicative and I would not recommend their services to anyone. Because if you have to make an insurance claim for damage you may run into what we did ... some claims adjuster trying to ram an insufficient number down your throat and threatening arbitration to try and intimidate you into acceptance. read more

My husband and I decided to PPM (privately move) when we PCS'd to MS from CO. He is a hardworking member of the USAF and let me tell you, this experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. One of the key parts of a PPM is obtaining the weigh station tickets so you can turn them in and be reimbursed for some of the expense. I relayed this information to both ladies coordinating my move and even went so far as to write the request on the drivers instructions. It is now 3weeks later and I have yet to receive them! Everything about this move has been a disaster! The people are completely unprofessional and refuse to return my phone calls or emails. I have little hope that we will ever get those tickets... Zero stars: poor communication, move was NOT on time, no organization...I could go on forever! Next PCS we will just let the AF do it. Needless to say I DO NOT recommend this company. Excellent local move experience with Johnson Storage. Six movers and 3 trucks showed up on time Monday morning, loaded the trucks, and delivered all furniture and boxes to our new house. We moved from Centennial, CO to Bend, OR a few weeks ago. We contacted with Johnson Brothers Moving Storage (United Van Lines) Colorado Springs office because the company had moved us to Denver 20 years ago & had done a great job. The packers arrived promptly on time @ 8 AM. Brian & team were very professional & courteous & did a fantastic job getting all of our belongings packed in boxes for our next day move. We loved Brian's great sense of humor during this very stressful time! The driver & team arrived the next day again promptly @ 8AM... The loading team was great.. There was an issue with not enough room in the truck for all of our belongings. The driver had to "unload" the rest of his truck that evening & did arrive back the next day @ 8 AM to finish loading. It did delay us leaving until 1 PM. The unloading in Bend was delayed because the driver had unexpected engine problems but luckily we were ok with the delay because our home was not quite ready. The delivery went very well & the three delivery people & the driver had everything unloaded & set up by 2:30. We were especially impressed with how hard Tony (taller Tony) worked. The truck that came to ship our house and small office was not large enough, thus they had to send another truck 3 hours later. Instead of being honest to tell us that our overflow shipment would need to be delayed 9 days to delivery, they told us nothing. When they delivered our household goods, even though we told them to do a drive by to make sure that they could get their truck there, they did not and made us wait until the next day to receive our household goods. Packing crew was great, but the rest of the move process was not. Overall the communication from the company, particularly when the driver would arrive for load-up, was poor which caused us significant scheduling headaches. In addition, the driver's handwriting was illegible which made it almost impossible to verify that all boxes were properly accounted for and delivered. Worse, they did not have enough crew at the delivery point (only the driver, who was older and in poor physical condition, and one helper for a house full of furniture), so several pieces of furniture were damaged or destroyed due to mishandling. Worst of all, Johnson refused to cover the damage even though the driver certified the damage, we took pictures of all the damaged items (which Johnson was not interested in seeing) and we had the highest amount of insurance they offered. Will never use them again and would not recommend them to anyone; the company is not reliable nor responsible. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I have moved over seven times with different companies each time and Johnson has given me the worst experience so far. Moving is stressful enough but whatever stress you experience can be exacerbated if you contract with a company like this. Here are the reasons I do not recommend them : THE MOVERS FAILED TO SHOW AS SCHEDULED. I had talked to their representative (Matt) who confirmed that the pick-up date. I never heard from Matt again. The silence from this company was bothersome so I tried to contact Matt to ensure everything was fine. He never responded. When I finally got hold of him he dismissed my concern and stated the movers will show up as scheduled. They did not. In fact, I called the movers and they were not even aware of who I was. I was bounced around personnel and given different names to call. Finally someone called back stating I was not scheduled for my move and they, "will see if we can get somebody there." Relying on Matt's assurances that the movers would arrive as scheduled, I was scheduled to surrender my apartment within days. Johnson did manage to scramble together a crew and picked up my items later that day. I will say the movers themselves were great. BUT JOHNSON DROPPED THE BALL AGAIN. I HAD TO REPEATEDLY REACH OUT TO THEM TO ARRANGE DELIVERY OF THEIR FORMS. While I was calling Johnson to try to get someone to show up as scheduled, I was told a "Belinda" was handling my move. I tried to call Belinda several times, and left a message reiterating the urgency of my situation. She called long after I left the message, and told me she got a crew to show up. She was not apologetic about the event and informed me she would call later in the day. She never did. When we were on the phone I told her I wanted to pay by credit card and wanted the forms to facilitate a credit card payment. She never followed up. I called several people over one week to try to get this form and I kept getting bounced around personnel. In the whole, it took me two weeks to get the form e-mailed to me. A simple request should not have been so difficult to accommodate. IT TOOK OVER A MONTH TO RECEIVE MY ITEMS EVEN THOUGH I GAVE THEM MY NEW ADDRESS 8 DAYS AFTER THEY PICKED UP MY BELONGINGS. They picked up my belongings on or about 5 June. I did not receive my items until August! I informed them on 13 June that I was ready for delivery. It does not make sense why it took so long. I cannot prove anything, but I think it is suspicious that movement of my items did not begin until after 14 days of billable storage had passed. THIS COMPANY DISPLAYED A CULTURE OF INDIFFERENCE TO MY NEEDS. For weeks they were unapologetic about not showing up as scheduled. I never heard from Matt about this. Troy was not apologetic about failing to reach out to me to schedule delivery of my goods. I was getting bounced around people to handle my move and no one seemed to be concerned about that. I never got a valid reason why it took so long for them to put my belongings on a truck and send them to me. And even though I informed them I wanted a weekend move they neglected to proactively schedule a weekend. Instead they allowed my items to reach my new state of residence and inform me weekends are booked. I was asked to make myself available during the week. So I then got someone else to receive my items and Johnson still took over a week to schedule a delivery. They never followed up to see if any items were damaged or missing. In fact there were: the bolts to my dining table are gone. Now I have to do find a whole new set of screws and bolts to a table valued over one thousand dollars. Thanks Johnson! The behavior of this company exhibits a total lack of concern for this consumer's needs and circumstances. You go with them and you may be next. I RECOMMEND YOU FIND OTHER MOVERS. You have my experience and others below. I have dealt with United Van Lines in New York and had a great experience. I believed that the level of professionalism spread across all its affiliates. IT IS NOT! My experience with Johnson was so bad that I will never give United Van Lines my business again. Now that you are aware of my experience, it is up to you to give these guys a shot. Some other comments here corroborate my claim that Johnson is not reliable and unprofessional. Moving can be tremendously stressful. If you get an experience similar to mine your stress will be exacerbated. DEAL WITH JOHNSON AT YOUR OWN RISK. read more
