I cannot say enough good things about The Other Side Movers. I had never hired movers before and didn't know what to expect- in addition to this being an incredible program, the team that I worked with was communicative, efficient and gentle with my items. I moved within Denver, and they met at my first location, moved the boxes to the truck quickly- I mean SPRINTING when they weren't carrying my items. They got to the new location and the team split in such a way that two guys were running up to unload items as one guy in the truck was putting items on carts/ handing them down so items were always moving and there was no moment that they weren't keeping everything flowing. In addition to all of these, the cost was within my budget and I cannot say enough how great this team was. Nate, Anthony and Tyler, you guys are AWESOME and (though I hope I don't move any time soon) you can bet that I'll be using The Other Side Moving again for my next move! My parents had 3 nearly new twin bed mattresses that they wanted to donate and got a referral to The Other Side Movers. My dad called them and they said they could pick up on Monday and would call Saturday with a window of time. There was no charge for their pick up service. They called on Saturday and the window was 2-4pm. Exactly at 2pm Bo and Mark showed up. After wiping their shoes on the rug they went upstairs to check out the situation. Then they wrapped the mattresses in plastic, covered them with a big pad and carefully brought them down the stairs, outside and into their truck. They were so polite and careful and couldn't have done a better job. My parents are elderly and can't do a lot for themselves, and my dad asked them if they could help him by cleaning some pine needles out of a 3 foot section of their gutter. Bo and Mark, after some hesitation, agreed, and it took 5-10 minutes. My dad was so appreciative and I told the guys that was their good deed for the day. They were perfect gentlemen the whole time they were there. If this is an example of their moving services, I would gladly hire them. They are very conscientious and all the money they earn goes towards supporting The Other Side Academy - such a worthwhile program. They also have The Other Side Furniture Boutique that sells items to raise money for the Academy. I would not recommend The Other Side Moving to my family, friends, or strangers on Yelp. My two stars are for their speed and mission, but they will not get your belongings to your destination undamaged. We used The Other Side to help us pack a truck for a long distance move in August. They did a sloppy job packing our truck, and our belongings ended up being damaged. The movers we hired to unload our truck even noted how badly packed it was. Some of the problems: - Boxes and furniture were "tossed" on the top and not secured - Labels on boxes were clearly ignored. Boxes labeled fragile were carelessly loaded at the bottom and crushed. Boxes labeled "this side up" were loaded upside down. Our television was placed at the bottom of a stack of boxes screen side up, which ended up cracking the screen. - They broke a plastic packing box while loading, which we only noticed after we checked the truck later. They were not upfront about the broken box. I would have appreciated more honesty about the broken box, so we could have correctly packed it again. - We provided plentiful moving blankets (still had many left over after loading), but they did not seem to want to use them despite our insistence. Our leather couch was not well wrapped and protected when loaded, and ended up getting scratches and large chips on the exterior wood frame. read more

Hands Down the Best Moving Experience - I'm Never Using Another Company Again I had to write this review because The Other Side Movers blew my expectations out of the water. I had heard horror stories from two friends who recently moved with different companies, saying the movers dragged their feet since they were paid hourly. Because of that, I only planned to have them take my big furniture (couch, bed, desk), and I set aside all the smaller boxes for me and a friend to move ourselves. For context, we're two mid-20s girls who like to think we're stronger than we actually are. When the movers showed up, they immediately questioned why I wasn't letting them take everything--including the boxes. I told them we'd see how fast things moved and go from there. Let me tell you, my jaw was on the floor. These guys moved my entire 1,000 sqft apartment--including all the boxes I originally planned to haul myself--in about an hour. They wrapped everything carefully, didn't damage a thing, and sprinted back and forth to the truck like they were on a mission. On top of that, they carried everything into my new place, put things in the right rooms (even up and down stairs), reassembled my bed and desk, and even offered to put together my couch that was still in boxes. For reference, my original plan required at least 6-8 car trips per person--but after watching these guys work, my friend and I only made 2 quick trips each (and that was just because we insisted on helping). Aside from being ridiculously efficient, their story and mission really hit home for me. The experience left such an impact that I will never use another moving company again. I've already told all my friends to hire them, and I will recommend them over and over. We chose The Other Side for our recent local move and had a great experience! The company is unique in that it's also a NPO affiliated with The Other Side Academy, "a school where students learn vocational, pro-social, and life skills so they can succeed on 'the other side' of addiction and criminal behavior." They replied to my Yelp Request a Quote asking that I fill out an estimate form online or give them a call. I decided to call, as not all of my items were showing up online. It was really easy to chat with Luke about my needs and he sent me over a quote soon after. Their price was competitive and so I decided to book with them! They arrived a little before the scheduled start time and got right to work! I had a four men crew and they were all very kind, polite and super hard workers. The move went as fast and smoothly as possible. They had a great attitude, seemingly having fun throughout the day, and handled some of the more complicated pieces with ease and teamwork. These guys rocked our move from Colorado to Iowa-- we engaged them to load a 26' UHaul (we had done our own packing). But their estimate was spot-on and the truck was loaded so well and we had a lot of super-odd items to get in. Nothing broke or dislodged in the move.
