Would happily hire them again. We hired Local & Long Distance Movers last month for our move from Lakewood, CO to Michigan. I've moved cross country 4 times, but it never gets less stressful. We decided to do our own packing this time(I should know better) but wished we had had them pack when it got to the week before. The guys who loaded the truck were so kind, efficient and more helpful than any big company we had used before. The care they put into wrapping and packing furniture was top notch. And the guys were so friendly and funny. We met the driver in Michigan with his helpers and they were fantastic. Went above and beyond. They don't price by weight but by volume. All other big companies go by weight. But LnL mostly use box trucks, which is great if you are moving into a city or area where space for a semi truck can't maneuver. We've had that happen. Big company movers end up transferring your goods to a box truck in a local parking lot to get to your new home, which adds a lot of time and money that you did not expect to pay. So for us, it was what we needed. We would hire this company again. But hopefully we won't be moving cross country again soon. read more

Great price easy to schedule I hope I never have to move again but if I do I would hire again

This is our second time using Local N Long Distance Movers. I used them in October 2023 for a move within the Denver area, and we used them last week moving the rest of our belongings from our 6000+ s.f. home to a new home in Castle Pines. I cannot say enough about how hard the team worked! Completely recommend. They were friendly and professional, they were careful with our belongings, and they were clearly committed to moving everything in the one day. We will use them again. THANK YOU EVERYONE! We gave them each a good tip for the amount of hard work they did all day long, while remaining friendly and fast! Details below. Strength and speed: We had a lot of heavy items, including large furniture, a large safe, gas grill, and a complete home gym with squat rack, 2,000 pounds of plates, 500 lbs of dumbbells, and what felt like 300 boxes. Everything was loaded up quickly and they chose to tackle the worst stuff first, so they wouldn't run out of muscles later! Value: Their pricing model is easy to understand and because they price by the hour plus materials, and they move so fast to disassemble the beds, wrap everything, pack stuff in boxes, load the trucks, move, unload, and put everything back together, we knew we were getting a fair price for the amount of labor involved. Process: PACKING DAY: Mohammed and Yevgeny came to help us pack. We had already done most of the packing, but still it took 8 more hours to help us get everything safely packaged into boxes, disassembled and/or wrapped up for the next day, and to package up some of the more awkward items. They helped us set aside our everyday items so we wouldn't lose track of things like keys, remotes, the coffeemaker, etc. MOVING DAY, 9AM: They arrived a little before our 9am start time. We had a 5 man team loading 2 trucks. Ilkhom, Alex, Sascha, Mohammed, and Yevgeny worked very well and super fast together. They were all strong, efficient, fast, and professional. Watching them load the 700lb safe onto a dolly and getting it up the ramp into the truck was amazing. They moved our heavy gas grill too - it was like a strongman competition, watching 2 or 3 people working together so fast. They got everything from the house loaded up, and headed down to Castle Pines with both trucks. MOVING DAY, 5PM: While 2 men unloaded and started moving items into the new house, staying there to assemble the beds and stuff, the other 3 men came back up to the first house with an empty truck to load everything from the garage. They barely stopped moving for a moment to eat or have water, and we got everything back down to Castle Pines in another couple of hours. Their job was finished around 10PM and they were still just as cheerful and professional as when they had started 13 hours earlier. They walked through the billing with us and stayed to see if we had any other questions. There were only a few minor things we wished had gone differently. A few items were left behind - nothing big, just some hardware for one of the desks, and a couple of boxes, and we moved them ourselves after. We had a miscommunication about one item, whether it was coming or not, and they sided with me, instead of listening to what my husband was telling them in the moment, so he was feeling frustrated. All the kitchen boxes were just marked KIT with no details like dishes or glassware or cuisinart or baking pans etc., so there was a LOT of rummaging around as we were unpacking, to find out which box had which stuff. And lastly, in the chaos of unloading, I'd say about 3% of the items ended up in the wrong rooms on the other end, even though they were marked clearly. So, 97% perfect! That's still an A+. Pretty sketchy experience. They were fine during my small move, but the payment process was insane. They took my CC info over the phone for a deposit when I booked the move. But then rather than just charge me for the remainder day of, the movers wanted to write my CC info on a form which they take back to their HQ. I have moved from Chicago to Boston, within boston, Boston to Michigan, Michigan to Baltimore, Baltimore to Denver, and now, with local and long, I moved from Denver back to Boston. Needless to say, I have a lot of experience dealing with moving... I've also had some really great movers, and some really bad movers before. However, local and long are by far the absolute best movers I have ever had, and it's not even close. My move from Boston to Denver was for a four bedroom 2500 sq ft house full of furniture and boxes. This was an absolute MONSTER of a move from a logistics and handling perspective. That said, I am happy to say that with local n long everything I owned made it to Boston in one piece. Why? They were incredibly careful. Every single piece of furniture was meticulously wrapped in blankets and plastic. Every single box was carefully handled, such that not a single dish broke (I have 100+ glass items). Perhaps the most impressive thing was how well they packed the truck to fit everything. They stacked everything perfectly and used every inch of that truck to make it work. I've never seen better organization skills in a moving truck in my entire life. They were also probably the most punctual movers I've ever worked with; they showed up at 9am on the dot for pick up and drop off. Another nice surprise was how organized the front office was; multiple follow ups, reminders, and contacts before the move to make sure everything went smoothly. Wrong. I hired the company to move my daughter's belongings from Denver to Texas. We did all of the packing, all they had to do was load the truck. The two men that showed up were efficient, fast and friendly. I paid for expedited moving. That would mean, they pick up the furniture on Monday, May 27th and it would arrive in Texas on Wednesday, May 29th between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. I contacted the company on the 29th to see if they had an arrival time. Dispatch didn't know. I called back and was then told that the truck was broken down and they were waiting on a repair truck. I asked dispatch where the truck was, and she said she didn't know and would call me back. They didn't call back, so I called again and she said they were in Amarillo and they should arrive by this evening on the 29th. Nothing. I called and left voicemails on 2 different numbers, would not get a call back, so I'd call again. I was contacted by the driver on the morning of May 30th. He sent a link to his location. He was in Clayton, NM, 2 hours away from Amarillo. So I was blatantly lied to about location from dispatch. I never received any calls back from anyone I left a voicemail to. The driver arrived on the evening of the 30th, with a different truck than what left Denver. He said the truck broke down and he had to wait for a new truck to arrive, so then our belongs had to be offloaded to the other truck.The people that were supposed to help him unload the truck never arrived. I wasn't given any updates or accurate information after the truck left my daughters apartment. The promise of delivery date and time wasn't kept. The lies about where the truck was and what was going on is NOT the way to run a business. I feel after the truck was loaded at the apartment, all service stopped then. Great movers. If you have valuable stuff, they'll wrap up everything super well. If you don't have valuable stuff, I would say have them skip some of the wrapping to save time but they work efficiently and take direction easily. They even helped us get some extra heavy stuff upstairs that wasn't part of the original move. They don't stop too, worked the entire time, assembled and disassembled when needed, packed up some extra stuff laying around in boxes they brought. Local N Long Distance recently moved my girlfriend and I, who are both handicapped, from a home in Denver to a new home in Northglenn. The move was so much better than my past experiences with movers. The team was on time, friendly, hard-working, and very focused on making sure that everything was properly handled. They disassembled a huge and very heavy desk that couldn't fit through the doors at the old house and reassembled it perfectly at the new house.
