Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Mattie Y.

I've actually never been to a Johnny Rockets before and I had a great experience here. Of course it is not the best food in the world, but they have just what you want before a flight. The service was great and prices were cheap, especially for an airport restaurant. I got the grilled cheese and my boyfriend got the chicken tenders. Love the local beer on tap!

The food was excellent just as I remembered from years ago. Fast and really friendly service. The prices really wasn't that bad I will definitely go there again

Great food and experience. Their homemade ranch dressing is my favorite condiment ever. Our waiter Steve hooked it up with multiple ranch dressings to go and was really charismatic and made the experience enjoyable :). My husband raved about his rocket double and my grilled chicken salad was delish. Thanks Johnny Rockets!

You can do better anywhere in the mall. We were sat by Steve who put us in high top seats right next to the food prep area and walkway for the servers at 11:45 am when the restaurant was empty. The food court would've been a more desirable and comfortable place to hangout in terms of sitting down than where they put us. While I sat at this table behind me was the whole crew and they all gathered in to start singing the 90s rock that was playing from the overhead speakers. The manager Steve was spinning menus in the air at full speed, the waitresses singing every word loud as they can to an overplayed awful rock song, all the while back to Steve who is grabbing some silverware now and head banging his extremely long hair and playing air guitar to the two girls he's seating behind me grasping for a laugh... just wow... then more head banging, and back to playing air guitar with a menu again... Just anything and everything to make this experience so awful and uncomfortable for us he was doing. He didn't get us drinks or waters but sat three tables after us and got all of them drinks and waters while we watched him put on his Rock concert and sing every word of "This is how you remind me of who I really am"!! While we waited with nothing to drink watching Steve and the crew dance n sing away around us serving everyone but us... He Finally pointed our waitress Shauna to our table who was so professional and such a dear. The problem was Steve and how unprofessional the rest of the crew was being. They were singing at the top of their lungs, Steve was changing the words to already awful music n putting in his own lyrics "he doesn't wanna be here no more" instead of the lyrics in the song. Clearly hating every moment of the start to his shift my kids and I just looked around like this can't be happening, and if it is, why sit us right next to it all. Feeling trapped with the entire staff singing was one thing, but paying 80$ for THIS food we got was another. The burgers were dripping in grease so bad my son stained his shirt, the mozzarella sticks were so dark from dirty fryer grease that they were un edible, n my steak... it was all cheese and no meat at all with no seasoning. The tots were under cooked and gross because of the dirty fryer plus the bacon on the top of them wasn't even cooked it was just raw bacon bits. Burger King would've been 10x better for 1/4 the price. Do not go here. Steve, please stop sitting people right next to the workers if they are going to act like that. No one can enjoy themselves in that atmosphere; if you want to sing and headbang put your customers away from the comotion and in seats they can be more comfortable in.

The Spicy Houston Burger

Stopped by Johnny Rockets for the first time in a long time after wandering around the mall. Stopped in at about 2:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. There was no wait to be seated and the restaurant was maybe 30% full. I sat at the counter. I ordered a Spicy Houston double with fries and an unsweet iced tea. Food came very, very quickly. Everything about the food was pretty average, certainly not bad, but nothing to write home about. My server, Ashley, was friendly and provided prompt service. I only give it 4 stars because altogether my meal was 18.01- a little steep in my opinion. Probably won't be back for a long time, but it was still a good experience.

We were happy to see a Johnny Rockets when we walked through the mall. So on our following visit, we decided to prioritize a long overdue visit to Johnny Rockets. Rosa was our server and she seems to be holding the place together. She worked really hard and was incredibly pleasant. Meanwhile, we witnessed three other servers basically sit while she pretty much served the entire restaurant. She mentioned something to one of them, but they didn't seem to budge from their seats, instead they conversed the entire 30/45 minutes that we were there. We were pretty let down to say the least. Our burgers and fries were pretty average and lacked the overall taste that they once had. I had the veggie and my husband had the original. We ordered cheese fries. The cheese was too salty and had a sticky consistency (see photos). Our food arrived eerily fast and there were plenty of patrons around. Ironically, it was the same quality as fast food.

A bit pricey for the portions. The burger was ok but didn't realize it didn't come with fries.

They usually have specials going on and I really enjoy switching it up each time. Just a heads up that this is a cash only place, so make sure you bring cash with you. I absolutely adore this place and it is definitely one of my top breakfast spots every time I come back to town.

When my husband read a ridiculous one star review, we knew we had to stop in. We both agree, we have now found our favorite breakfast place! First, the food....I ordered the #2 breakfast (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage and 2 bacon. The pancakes would be more than a meal by themselves. Thank goodness my husband wanted one of them. They were huge and fluffy and delicious! I ordered my eggs scrambled and they too were light, fluffy and cooked for the perfect amount of time. The bacon was delicious and the sausage was nicely browned and tasty. My husband ordered hash, eggs and toast. I tried a bite of his hash and WOW! We both think it had to be made in house. Second, the atmosphere....this is a classic, old school diner. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the masterful cooking on the flat top. Lastly, the staff was super friendly and attentive. Even though this was our first visit, the friendliness of our server made us feel like regulars. We can't wait to go back and next time I'm definitely going to try the brioche French toast I spied cooking on our way out!

Unfortunately, I found that despite some good reviews, this place is subpar. I paid $35 for two breakfasts. I was served a dish with two eggs, two thin slices of toast, I don't know how they slice the toast that thin, a huge plate of greasy home fries, and bacon that was so greasy it was inedible. The floors were filthy and I can't imagine they have been washed in months. This is a small space and tables are crammed everywhere making it difficult for the waitress to move around. My husband said the men's room was simply disgusting. The flies on the window next to us eagerly looked at our plates, waiting to pounce at the first opportunity. Not a positive experience.

Even though the restaurant only had two large parties and wasn't particularly busy, we still waited 35 minutes to be seated. That alone didn't make sense, but things only went downhill from there. It was my daughter's birthday, and we were hoping for a fun brunch. Our server started off friendly, but that changed quickly. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time--a chai tea for me, a specialty alcoholic milkshake for my daughter, and no drink for her boyfriend, plus three entrées and a poutine. The drinks took 50 minutes to arrive. The food took over an hour and a half. During all this, the server seemed to avoid our table entirely. When my daughter's boyfriend finally managed to get her attention--very politely, even mentioning that he himself is a server--he simply asked if she had an estimate on our food. She stood there with her hand on her hip and told us the kitchen was backed up, with "three orders ahead of yours," as if that explained everything. We then asked if the poutine, our appetizer, was at least ready. She said they had to make fresh potatoes for it but that she would "rush it." Eventually, she came back with the poutine, plopped it down on the table, and walked away without a single word. No "here you go," no "do you need anything," and--most importantly--no plates. I ended up getting up and asking the hostess for plates so we could actually eat the appetizer. For a place that markets itself as a "fancy diner" with "Instagram-worthy" dishes, the service and execution were nowhere near acceptable. If you're going to lean into trendy presentation and premium pricing, you need the staff to support it. Hire more people. Train them. Do something--because this was unacceptable from start to finish. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a smooth, enjoyable dining experience. **EDIT** I would like to include the fact of the over priced, over salted, food items don't seem to cover the cost to upgrade your cracked booths so that people's bums are hurt from sitting on them. Needs to be updated and correct staffing issues so that food will be "adequate" for the price. Go anywhere on Westcott than here.

Walking through the restaurant was nice as the space was very large and the decor indoor was cozy and whimsical. Our server was nice throughout the meal. However, I did get a water glass that had marks on it that looked like someone just drank out of it and a crumb on the rim. I asked them if they could get me a clean cup and they ended up bringing the same one as the same mark and crumb were still there. For food, our table ordered a few items to share. We got: -CAULIFLOWER WINGS: The chutney/salsa on top of the fried cauliflower was nice and gave the item a little sour kick. However, the cauliflower itself was not cooked fully so not as soft as I wanted it to be. -SYRACUSE POUTINE: The appearance of the poutine was not the best. However, the gravy it came with was very flavorful and tasty. The potatoes themselves were not fried and were in wedge form but went well with the gravy. The small globs of melted cheese on top were a nice complement. -CAJUN SLIDERS: The slider compliments/sauce went well together but the sliders themselves had grill marks on it which gave a bitter bite to those parts of the slider. Additionally, the fried shrimp inside of the slider still had the tail on and so it was a bit of a surprise to bite into a full tail while eating a slider. All in all, a cute spot to see people but food had some hit or miss components.
