We were at the mall for my grandson's birthday and knew he would enjoy it here. I had great memories of taking my kids and my daughter remembered how fun it was. The restaurant was very clean and so was the bathroom. We were greeted nicely and told to sit anywhere we liked. ( When I have been seated in a restaurant and absolutely knew I needed to change my seat....I very politely ask to change and have never been refused, unless of course the place is full). Menus were brought quickly and our server took our drink order. My daughter and I got root beer floats, my grandson got a kid size chocolate shake. Even though I prefer a float with hard ice cream and they use a soft serve it still had that creamy delicious taste. Our server was so friendly and when he came over to give us the ketchup decorated smiley plate...he made our day with a SONIC for my 4 year old grandson ( he had just gotten a Build a Bear stuffed Sonic). I got Pokemon and my daughter got Chucky from Rugrats!! He helped make our day special. We all had different burgers which we enjoyed, they were cooked nicely and the buns were fresh. This time we decided to get mozzarella sticks. 7.49$ for 4 of them, cool, there's two of us so we upgraded to the 8 piece for another 7.49$. The wait time is good. We get our food, open it, and there's only 4. We talk to the cook respectfully about how we ordered 8 but only got 4. He told us we have to reorder, that adding it on like we did isn't how it works- despite the fact we were charged. We weren't offered a refund- just told to submit another order so I can get another four. I'm not paying AGAIN to get what I should have already gotten. Stopped by Johnny Rockets for the first time in a long time after wandering around the mall. Stopped in at about 2:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. There was no wait to be seated and the restaurant was maybe 30% full. I sat at the counter. I ordered a Spicy Houston double with fries and an unsweet iced tea. Food came very, very quickly. Everything about the food was pretty average, certainly not bad, but nothing to write home about. My server, Ashley, was friendly and provided prompt service. You can do better anywhere in the mall. We were sat by Steve who put us in high top seats right next to the food prep area and walkway for the servers at 11:45 am when the restaurant was empty. The food court would've been a more desirable and comfortable place to hangout in terms of sitting down than where they put us. While I sat at this table behind me was the whole crew and they all gathered in to start singing the 90s rock that was playing from the overhead speakers. The manager Steve was spinning menus in the air at full speed, the waitresses singing every word loud as they can to an overplayed awful rock song, all the while back to Steve who is grabbing some silverware now and head banging his extremely long hair and playing air guitar to the two girls he's seating behind me grasping for a laugh... just wow... then more head banging, and back to playing air guitar with a menu again... Just anything and everything to make this experience so awful and uncomfortable for us he was doing. He didn't get us drinks or waters but sat three tables after us and got all of them drinks and waters while we watched him put on his Rock concert and sing every word of "This is how you remind me of who I really am"!! While we waited with nothing to drink watching Steve and the crew dance n sing away around us serving everyone but us... He Finally pointed our waitress Shauna to our table who was so professional and such a dear. The problem was Steve and how unprofessional the rest of the crew was being. They were singing at the top of their lungs, Steve was changing the words to already awful music n putting in his own lyrics "he doesn't wanna be here no more" instead of the lyrics in the song. Clearly hating every moment of the start to his shift my kids and I just looked around like this can't be happening, and if it is, why sit us right next to it all. Feeling trapped with the entire staff singing was one thing, but paying 80$ for THIS food we got was another. The burgers were dripping in grease so bad my son stained his shirt, the mozzarella sticks were so dark from dirty fryer grease that they were un edible, n my steak... it was all cheese and no meat at all with no seasoning. The tots were under cooked and gross because of the dirty fryer plus the bacon on the top of them wasn't even cooked it was just raw bacon bits. Burger King would've been 10x better for 1/4 the price. Do not go here. Steve, please stop sitting people right next to the workers if they are going to act like that. No one can enjoy themselves in that atmosphere; if you want to sing and headbang put your customers away from the comotion and in seats they can be more comfortable in. read more

I feel bad writing this but johnny rockets has had a downfall. Went here today for lunch, I got the tenders my friend got a blt and we got tater tots to split. The first chicken tender was good then i got to the second one it tasted like rubber so i was like okay this might just be the bad one of the batch i go to the 3rd one, it taste like i'm eating fried breading not good at all. My friend didn't go into detail but i could tell it wasn't really good. Lettuce looked weird and bacon too. The tater tots were really good though. Can never go wrong with a tater tots! We were happy to see a Johnny Rockets when we walked through the mall. So on our following visit, we decided to prioritize a long overdue visit to Johnny Rockets. Rosa was our server and she seems to be holding the place together. She worked really hard and was incredibly pleasant. Meanwhile, we witnessed three other servers basically sit while she pretty much served the entire restaurant. She mentioned something to one of them, but they didn't seem to budge from their seats, instead they conversed the entire 30/45 minutes that we were there. We were pretty let down to say the least. Our burgers and fries were pretty average and lacked the overall taste that they once had. I had the veggie and my husband had the original. We ordered cheese fries. Went to Johnny Rockets this past Thursday came to Destiny Mall to visit family in Syracuse. The food came out super fast and the fries were fresh. I mean this is an OK place if you're at the mall and don't want to walk to the food court. I have a bad knee and sometimes i can't make it there. So me and my gorejous wife went to johnnys rocket in the Mall when we were christ mas (not sure you can say that word anymore) shopping and were seating pretty fast. The person who took our order was sweet, I didn't get their name because i broke my glasses after I stepped on them getting out of bed. I had the spicy texas houston double and my wife had 4 rocket chili dogs and we shared an chili bowl and milkshake. My wife said she started having bad gas after the 3rd rocket cili hot dog but I think it was probably the arbys we had for lunch. My Spicy austin texas burger was pretty good but I think it could have been cooked a little less it was dry like a dogs leg after you let it out in the sun. The milkshake we shared (peanud butter banana) was really thick and good but my wife has trouble using straws sometimes so I had to get a nother spoon for her to enjoy the panana butter milkshake. My wife said that besides the gas she was havving, the rocket chili hot dogs were good but could use some fresh onions. But thats just preference. Overall food was good but was room tempteratur like someone left the food outside the mall for 8 mintues. So we wanted to get out of the house and just decided to walk around the mall. I got hungry and thought I'd finally check out Johnny Rockets "new" location at the mall. Now the actual franchise has been in the mall for a really long time. But in the last year I believe it was they moved to a corner location with a bit of a facelift. With an open kitchen and lots of bars and stools and high tops. I was glad they gave us one of the four booths I saw in the whole place. Since those are my preferred tables. We were quickly greeted by our server Jamal and he was quite the character. Nice to see someone who enjoys their job and he's part of the reason of getting an above average score. Got our drinks and ordered some of one of their specials the philly cheese tots. Now nothing screams special or exciting at this place it's only a few steps above fast food to me. But I will admit, those tots were something special. The meat had great flavor and they do an amazing job with caramelized onions. Tots and two types of cheese. Including whiz which is common to a philly sandwich. Makes it a tasty "pub food esque" app. I ordered what they call a Route 66 burger which was pretty basic but good quality ingredients again with those tasty onions which brings it up to a higher level. Something I learned about this place because I was quite confused when the server came by with a small plate with a face that he'd drawn on it in ketchup has been a practice at this company for years. It started as a squiggle, then turned into a smiley face, and Jamal took it to the next level and drew a little koala on it. It caught me off guard til I googled the practice and it almost seems bad to use the plate for ketchup after the effort is made. But it was still pretty amusing after the confusion passed. Now the prices have jumped significantly since I pardoned this place years ago. Which is to be expected but it's not too far off the mark at $43 after two meals with a side and a appetizer with two drinks and tip. Not something I'd do regularly. My friend and I both got the smokehouse bbq double. I got mine with chipotle sauce and he got the smoky bbq. The patties were VERY juicy and flavorful but the brioche buns left a lot to be desired. They were very soggy and tore right apart when I tried to eat my burger unfortunately. The bacon inside my burger was very fatty which I enjoyed but some may want to order theirs extra crispy. The fries were an extra $2 which is not worth it to me. An $11 burger SHOULD automatically come with fries. Potatoes are so cheap! Who just eats a plain burger anymore? The fries were very bland. Was at the Mall and hungry, decided to give Johnny Rockets a try since the recently moved locations and did a complete image change.
