We stopped in here for shakes/floats while shopping in the mall one afternoon. Service was quick and good, my float was great and the waiter offered to refill my soda. My biggest complaint is the smell of the place. Like the floors just needed a good cleaning. Hoping to go back and try some of the food since people seem to enjoy it and it always seems busy. read more

Carousel Mall, that behemoth bastion of shopping, has shit restaurants. There is JRockets, an Unos and a food court. Not at all fancy like our Buffy Galleria with Melting Pot, Cheesecake Factory, Jack Astor's or Bar Louie. Wanting to grab a quickish bite to eat, we headed to JRockets. Since the kitchen/diner prep area is right in the middle of the restaurant, you leave smelling like a fryer. Most of the patrons looked like they could have used some time away from said fryer. Our waitron was an oddity. She was from outer space. I don't get the little ketchup dishes that they draw ketchup smiley faces on, and I find them to be wasteful. I can dump ketchup on my plate. The upsell is annoying, the free refills on soda rock. My chicken club was MASSIVE and TASTY but I took out the middle layer of bread. I wish restaurants made "normal" sized food. There is no beer, which would have helped the experience. read more

One word: Amazing. The burgers melt in your mouth. I got a bacon burger, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. I got tater tots on the side and they were just right. I was full after a couple bites, but it was so good I had to keep eating. They always have great service and the people their seem genuinely happy! Highly recommend! read more

Johnny Rockets - Burgers Near Me - Syracuse, New York

Other than the restaurant being similar size to that of a storage closet I'd say the food is superb.

Our server was Shannon. The staff was jolly and festive on January 1st , a day that usually is a drag to work. I always enjoy this place. The service is great. Thank you read more

Johnny Rockets is always my go to if I'm in the mall and want a delicious burger. You can always count on this place to deliver a hot, juicy burger and deliver it quick. I love the smiley face they do in ketchup when you get fries. It always make me smile. I recently visited the new location and while it lacks some of the old school charm the other one had the food is still delicious. Also, we sat at the counter and had great service from a super enthusiastic server, I wish I could remember her name. read more

Johnny Rockets - Switched things up tonight and got a Philly cheesesteak. The picture doesn't do it justice. Mm mm good - Burgers Near Me - Syracuse, New York

Just an over prices burger chain, the milkshakes are very good, just wish the food was too Last visit our waitress was to busy fooling around with her phone to bring us silverware to eat with do after asking twice we asked someone else who took care of us quick. Haven't been back sense and don't plan on it. There are many better choices for a burger read more

Milkshakes and endless fries what else could a burger want? We were in and out in a snap! Quick friendly service and the small eater of the group was allowed to order off the kids menu. Great place for a fast burger especially when comparing to the "fast food" giants. read more

Johnny Rockets - Burgers Near Me - Syracuse, New York

The service wasn't very good. Not super friendly or helpful. The food is good! Just know that the prices are for the burger or sandwich only! Fries or a side are extra. I love Johnny Rockets but was disappointed with the service here. This location seems more like it should be a fast food/no waiters location. read more

Was here Thursday night/early Friday morning for Black Friday shopping, the bar area was pretty empty so my girlfriend and I decided to stop by and grab a late night meal. Had great service, our food came out in a decent amount of time and was very good! I got the Smoke House Double and it was so good! Meat was delicious and had a good proportion of toppings on it. Girlfriend got the Chili dog and she seemed to enjoy it very much! Fries were a little mehhh but overall a great visit! To those who are worried about the service, try coming here when it's not as packed and/or sit at the bar, always easy to get ahold of your server! read more

My two friends and I arrived at around five o'clock on a Saturday, there was a short line to sit down but we did not have to wait more than five minutes. We sat a long table with another party to the left of us, but it was not an issue. We all ordered burgers with fries and one of their famous milkshakes! I ordered the original burger (served with tomato, onion, lettuce, pickles, and mustard and mayonnaise on top) and was not disappointed. Their fries did not seem very fresh and did not taste great, but I ate them nonetheless. We were served very quickly and our waitress was great! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a greasy bite to eat. read more

When I'm at the mall, Johnny Rockets is one of my favorite restaurants to go to for my guilty pleasures (french fries, onion rings, milkshakes), even though their fifties-style diner fare is a bit overpriced. The service is friendly and the food is tasty. Besides their fried goodies, I also enjoy their deliciously toasted tuna melt. read more

Johnny Rockets - Ketchup for the cheese fries! - Burgers Near Me - Syracuse, New York

Really gross. Johnny Rockets are typically decent and fun for families with small kids. This one fails on so many levels. The atmosphere isn't in line with other JRs across the nation. The food quality is poor. Actually, it made two thirds of our party sick to their stomachs. Loaded fries were too wet and soggy to even eat. Burgers were dry and lacking in flavor. They tasted overly of cow if that makes sense. Perhaps food safety corners are cut? The oreo shake was good, but not enough to redeem the main food and the poor service. This was one time I nearly felt inclined to leave a "bad tip," but couldn't muster it as you never know the circumstances to why your service was poor. Oh well. We will avoid this place at all costs. Left most of the food on the table, uneaten. This Rocket crashed and burned. read more

Served me salad in a dirty bowl. Luckily I saw it before I started eating . Chili cheese tots were good though

Hamburger was very greasy, so greasy that the bun disintegrated, I've eaten here before and had a similar experience. French fries were blah. I always try to give a restaurant a second chance because everyone has an off night. It will be awhile before I return. The server was very pleasant and professional. Food was promptly prepared and delivered. While I like retro music, it was very hard to hear what was playing due to a poor sound system. I think this type of restaurant would do better as a stand alone. Too bad. read more

You should try it's Oreo shake. It is do delicious!! Burgers and french fries are delicious. Staffs are friendly. read more

I've been going here for years and have rarely been disappointed. There's something about a Johnny Rocket burger that always hits the spot - must be something in all that grease! I'm a sucker for their fries as well. They have the right amount of starch to them, and there's nothing better than dipping them in a dish for smiley faced ketchup. What I also like about coming here, is seeing the same familiar faces from ten, fifteen years ago. It speaks to the management, and the company, which is very cool, especially for a mall location. read more

The food was great, the services was phenomenal, and the manager was great at walking around and talking with people. In addition, they've brought back the nostalgic experience. There was dancing, smiley faces in the ketchup, and straw holders. read more

It was okay. The food didn't really look anything like what was in the pictures or what it was like back in the day. Me and my friends ordered the Spicy Houston Burger and not only was it not spicy there were no jalapenos on the burgers...I was surprised at how small and flat it was..Luckily we were able to get another helping of fries because the first helping had like 8 fries on the platter and they were not hot at all. The second batch was better...Still, not a very good portion size for the price of the meal; McDonalds gives you more for less. Our waitress wasn't very friendly and forgot to put in my friend's shake. When we mentioned it she didn't apologize and when she finally delivered it she put it at the furthest point away from my friend; the opposite end of where we were sitting. (high top). I'm assuming all the burgers are cooked at one temp. because the waitress didn't ask us how we wanted them done. I think there are better places in the mall to get lunch/dinner and I think I'd rather try them out instead but if my friends wanted to go back I would go; but def just order a shake. read more

I love this restaurant! I'm so glad there is finally one in the Syracuse region! The food here is always served relatively quick and hot! It is also always wonderful, especially the Oreo shakes the staff are all always so friendly and fun but, My boyfriend has a favorite waiter, Steve. He is so fun and you can really tell he likes what he does. The fries are amazing and the ketchup smileys are so cute! Anyways, it can get pretty busy here on weekends and Friday nights, so I would suggest getting here/in line a little earlier. But It is so worth it read more

The saving grace at this restaurant is our waitress was sweet & did her job nicely. I left her a 20% tip for that. Food is WAY overpriced. For $8.50 you get a McDonald's dollar meal cheeseburger. And then you have to pay $2 more for fries. I was so disappointed as this excursion for 2 people cost $25. Stay clear of this place. Want a good burger in Syracuse? Head to Blarney Stone. If I had gone there, that $25 could have included a nice cold beverage. read more

Service was good. I ordered a Mushroom Swiss Burger; the burger was extra well done as were the mushrooms, in fact almost burnt. The Swiss cheese was almost absent as if it were melted off; I definitely could not taste it or even see it other than a small piece of burnt cheese on the edge of the burger. An $8.00+ burger should also come with fries, but you can get fries for an extra $2.00 with free refills. I also was expecting a larger burger; I know the long cooking shrunk the burger considerably. read more

This is a chain restaurant that is 50s diner themed. I do not recall if this one has jukeboxes the way their other locations do. This store is located upstairs in Destiny USA mall. I tried the spicy Houston burger with brioche bun (single patty is around 600 calories and the double is around 800 calories). The patty tasted like Burger King's charbroiled burgers. The lettuce in the burger was oversized but I'd prefer it be too big than too small. I got a side of onion rings for less than $5 (but was around 900 calories). They brought out a batch and said I could munch on that batch while they cooked up a new/fresher batch. I was confused what was wrong with the first batch but I realized (after the 2nd came out) that the first one might have been twice fried (re-fried older ones?) so it was darker/tougher/harder. The newer batch had a nicer crunch to it that wasn't too hard. Either way, I ended up getting two times the amount of a regular order. Their onion rings are battered with sourdough bread crumbs. I liked that they weren't as sweet as some of the onion rings at other fast food burger joints. Our waitress (a young blonde) was very smiley/friendly and drew a happy face on our ketchup plate with ketchup. read more

Last Saturday evening I went Syracuse Destiny USA to make some shopping. I had no intention to have a dinner in the mall because I don't like food courts. When I stepped up food court floor I saw Johnny Rockets and its atmosphere appealed me. It was a few feet distant from the food court so there was no big noise and crowd. Its furniture was cute and clean. Staff was welcoming, even one of the waiters was singing while serving. I decided to try Johnny Rockets. They are serving to tables but it has not a big menu. I chose grilled chicken which is served only with hamburger bun. I do not like sweet taste of hamburger bun. When I told about my distaste of the bun, the waiter (Jamaal) offered to use sour dough bread instead . With fries and diet coke my order summed up to 13 dollars. It is pricy however taste was fair and everything was clean. read more

This is the first time I've been to the new location. I was disappointed that the 50s vibe is pretty much gone. And the food was mediocre. The good is the service was fast and friendly. Overall it was pretty disappointing. I miss the old Johnny Rockets. read more

I have eaten here on several occasions but last night was probably the best one yet. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful and made sure we were content for the entire meal. The food is always yummy and this time we were excited to see that we could get movie tickets for 7 bucks with our dinner which was perfect for the occasion. I always give servers mad credit when they are mad busy but still keep a calm demeanor and take care of their tables. I'd definitely go back if I was still living out here. read more

Super fun place to eat. 50s music is always fun to listen to (well...all good things in moderation!), but the big thing is the staff. They are super friendly, easily the friendliest people in the mall. Easy to talk to, quick to laugh....they really turn a simple burger and fries into a good time. The food is basic but good and the prices are reasonable. Friday and Saturday nights from 530-8 are pretty busy, but any other time you should be able to get a seat right away. So give it a try and enjoy a nice attitude pick me up during your shop til you drop experience at Carousel Mall read more

Burgers are good. I've been coming here for years. But seriously, ELECTRONIC ORDER GAME STATION?! It's awful. And my family and I turned it around so we didn't have to see it, and our waitress turned it back. And the music is now current day!? It REALLY kills the vibe. read more

I was going to give this 4 stars because the service was SO good but the food was a little under par. My mom got a chili cheese dog which they have changed from years ago. The dog is now long and thin and they were a little stingy on the chili. I got a salad with the dressing on the side. As someone to doesn't eat meat or gluten (mostly vegan diet), it was my only option, which I'm not complaining BUT the tomatoes in my salad looked like they were taken out of another dish and put in mine. The tomato had some tuna fish on them and other had some small pieces of bread. Due to me being very sensitive to this, I was very turned off. I won't go here again, or if I do, I will probably ask for just lettuce, but the service was seriously amazing. We had Jared and he was great. Also, as someone who has been coming here for over 10 years, one server has been there the whole time, so it must be a nice place to work. The location moved for those of you who had been going here forever, and the update looks very nice. read more

They nailed the atmosphere for sure! I like this place, but you can definitely get tired of it quickly, so I don't go here much. The staff is all very friendly and nice. Their ice is actually really good haha, it isn't cubed and isn't crushed, but is small and chewable! Destiny has a bunch of great restaurants, this one is probably just out of the top 5. read more
