The exterior and interior were both very beautiful and remind me shops that I've visited while in NYC. I ordered the #18 which was smoked turkey, cheddar, spinach, pears and garlic mayo. WOW! That's the first word that came to kind after my first bite. This was easily one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten in my life!!! I will start this as I always do by saying I do not give out five stars but I am really blown away. I've not gone here in quite some time probably 10 years. But it's just as good as it was back then. The sandwich I got was quite delicious. The pesto didn't overpower anything. And the bread had a nice crisp to it. Great flavor, chicken was tender. I would certainly get it again. The staff was friendly and the food came up quickly. The ambience is definitely casual, what you would expect for a small sandwich shop. It's too bad that I have not been here in quite some time. A friend took me there yesterday, because he loves their sandwiches. I had the Cuban which has a raspberry sauce on it. The sandwich was very good and I would eat it again. Yes, the service was prompt. In term of ambiance, it is a small place with some indoor seating and outdoor seating in good weather. Sitting outdoors, especially during the noon rush, could be relaxing. For me, this place it not near anything I go to regularly, so I'm not sure when/if I'll go again. However, if I lived or worked in Franklin Square, this is a place i would visit frequently. In terms of a place to go, get something, and hang out (or have a business meeting/see friends), I would go to Freedom of Expresso, which is across the street, because that space seems more amenable to that. read more

Stopped in around 1 on a Tuesday. Was a few people, but it wasn't crowded- I had to wait behind two people to order. The place is absolutely tiny so any people makes it look pretty hoppin'. I ordered an evidently (based on the signage) steak sandwich, a bag of chips, and a bottled drink. The wait wasn't too bad, maybe 5-7 minutes. People who ordered behind me continually got their sandwiches before me, but I reckon that this is due to using the grill for my sandwich. The sandwich itself was a pretty standard cheesesteak. Nicely shaved and chopped ribeye, peppers, onions, and provolone. It wasn't mind blowing but it was pretty good. The French bread it was served on was also a nice touch. I've eaten here before and while this sandwich was totally good in it's own right, I've had better offerings at prior visits. The place has very limited seating so I had to sit outside. At least on other times when I had gone to Boulangerie there were tables set up along the outside- this was not the case today. I had to eat sitting on a bench, kind of an awkward and messy experience truth be told. Total came to 14.47 for the sandwich, chips, and drink. About what you would expect. Also, this place is in the middle of nowhere so you're not just going to stumble upon it. Overall, I'd say while it's certainly good and worth your time, there are other sandwich places (I'm looking at you, Darwin) that do things just a hair better. read more

This place is such a gem! I found this on Yelp while scrolling for a great sandwich. It's hidden in the cutest area, around the corner from a coffee shop I frequent! Anything you would want between buns, they have it! I'd say go for the paninis! I got a turkey and bacon one that could have easily been a meal for 2 people. I ask a ton of questions generally to get a sense at what the workers enjoy the most and what's popular. I ordered a while back and realized that I never wrote a review. I had the tuna w cheddar. My food was ready as expected, and tasted very fresh. I liked the combo of the tuna with cheese, as that's not a pairing you see often unless it's a melt. The tuna wasn't mushy, and the French bread was super crusty and crunchy. I ordered once more, this time the dilled albacore. The sandwiches were good, but not too strong or distinct. I also got a caesar salad, which was standard- super crunchy croutons, and they gave me two containers of dressing. I'd be interested to try their breakfast sandwiches one day. The price is super reasonable, and it's located downtown but not smack dab in the middle of everything, so you can avoid traffic and parking issues if you take the right roads. Opened in 1991, Boulangerie Ltd has been serving up gourmet sandwiches in the redeveloped area for almost 30 years. The small eatery, tucked away on Plum Street, functions a bit more like a sandwich shop that has predetermined menu items and less like a made-to-order delicatessen. Those predetermined selections however are really interesting and creative. There more than 20 of these creative sandwich items on the menu and each sandwich comes with your choice of bread: French, Sour Dough, Multi-Grain, Wrap, or Foccacia, in addition to paninis, salads, wraps and baked treats. The interior is small, but large enough to enjoy lunch with a group. Seating consists of several tables with a long, cushioned booth along the wall. Windows cover about half of the place which provides it with a nice, scenic view of Plum Street. But it's small enough that, when busy, it's hard to find a place to stand in line to go to the counter or wait for your to go order. There is a parking lot next door for patrons of the building to park in as well. I tried the place on a whim while looking for a new sandwich place for lunch. I tried an Italian wrap, filled with salami, ham, lettuce, tomato, onion, choice of hot or sweet peppers, provolone, parmesean and balsamic vinaigrette. I found it to be a bit on the small side, but not small enough to be unsatisfying. There wasn't a ton of meat inside, but the meat was sliced thick enough to be filling. The balsamic vinaigrette was tasty, but scarce. I went again later in the week and tried a buffalo chicken wrap, as I love anything buffalo chicken. I was a little disappointed with it, as with most buffalo items, it was heavy on blue cheese and scarce on buffalo. But it wasn't bad. Thick chunks of white meat chicken inside for a hearty wrap. Feeling I'd played it a bit safe the first two times, I decided to try one of their paninis today. I got a Smokey Robinson, filled with smoked turkey, ham, lettuce, provolone, tomato, roasted red pepper and garlic mayo. I also got a chicken caesar salad. The panini was much more satisfying and tastier than the wraps, and the salad was also very good, with a good, strong caesar dressing tossed on it. The employees are never mean or rude, but can seem rather indifferent at times, especially the guy at the register. Service is usually pretty fast, even on busy days. Prices are fair, but some of the items can seem a bit on the small side. I'd definitely recommend for a light, tasty, creative alternative lunch if you're looking for a switch from your usual, plain sandwich places. read more

Popped in for lunch a few days ago; the place was packed with hungry folks. I ordered the chicken salad on french bread; ~$8 and was prepared within minutes. The bread was fresh and crunchy, and the chicken salad had big chunks of fresh chicken mixed with grapes. The sun was shining (a rarity in Syracuse) so I opted to eat by the creek walk which is just a mere few steps from Boulangerie. Overall, a great lunch experience! read more

Stopped here for lunch today. I'm glad I did. I had a Dill Tuna salad sandwich and it was delicious. My wife had the Kevin Bacon, which is a turkey club with really tasty spread on it. If you like good sandwiches/subs and lots of options, check this place out. My coworkers and I go here at least once a week, and I still haven't made it through all the listed menu items. I'm pretending to be healthy, so I usually go with the multi-grain bread, but I haven't heard anything bad about the other options. There is limited seating both indoors and outdoors, but most people just get their sandwiches to go during the lunch rush, so I've never seen all the tables full. The staff here are EXTREMELY rude and inconsiderate. Beyond that, working nearby, I ate here sporadically, and found a huge, dead, in-tact fly in my roast beef sandwich. I brought it back to them, asked for my money back, showed them the fly, and was told they check everything and this isn't their fault. Only after telling them that I certainly did not open my sandwich and have a fly fly in and die on it, did they only reimburse me for the sandwich, not the full lunch I paid for. The staff was very rude, leaned over and got in my face about this, and again told me this wasn't their fault.
