Service was quick and professional! I ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon on an everything bagel! OMG!! first of all for a pregnant lady who is very picky! This is THE BEST SANDWICH I HAVE ADD!!! their eggs were so soft and so perfectly seasoned. Better than my favorite scramble eggs from the Ritz Carlson! I'm coming back every morning! I always take a picture of my food and I DEVOURED THIS MEAL! They take cash or card. Parking is free in the front.

Stopped in around 1 on a Tuesday. Was a few people, but it wasn't crowded- I had to wait behind two people to order. The place is absolutely tiny so any people makes it look pretty hoppin'. I ordered an evidently (based on the signage) steak sandwich, a bag of chips, and a bottled drink. The wait wasn't too bad, maybe 5-7 minutes. People who ordered behind me continually got their sandwiches before me, but I reckon that this is due to using the grill for my sandwich. The sandwich itself was a pretty standard cheesesteak. Nicely shaved and chopped ribeye, peppers, onions, and provolone. It wasn't mind blowing but it was pretty good. The French bread it was served on was also a nice touch. I've eaten here before and while this sandwich was totally good in it's own right, I've had better offerings at prior visits. The place has very limited seating so I had to sit outside. At least on other times when I had gone to Boulangerie there were tables set up along the outside- this was not the case today. I had to eat sitting on a bench, kind of an awkward and messy experience truth be told. Total came to 14.47 for the sandwich, chips, and drink. About what you would expect. Also, this place is in the middle of nowhere so you're not just going to stumble upon it. Overall, I'd say while it's certainly good and worth your time, there are other sandwich places (I'm looking at you, Darwin) that do things just a hair better.

Opened in 1991, Boulangerie Ltd has been serving up gourmet sandwiches in the redeveloped area for almost 30 years. The small eatery, tucked away on Plum Street, functions a bit more like a sandwich shop that has predetermined menu items and less like a made-to-order delicatessen. Those predetermined selections however are really interesting and creative. There more than 20 of these creative sandwich items on the menu and each sandwich comes with your choice of bread: French, Sour Dough, Multi-Grain, Wrap, or Foccacia, in addition to paninis, salads, wraps and baked treats. The interior is small, but large enough to enjoy lunch with a group. Seating consists of several tables with a long, cushioned booth along the wall. Windows cover about half of the place which provides it with a nice, scenic view of Plum Street. But it's small enough that, when busy, it's hard to find a place to stand in line to go to the counter or wait for your to go order. There is a parking lot next door for patrons of the building to park in as well. I tried the place on a whim while looking for a new sandwich place for lunch. I tried an Italian wrap, filled with salami, ham, lettuce, tomato, onion, choice of hot or sweet peppers, provolone, parmesean and balsamic vinaigrette. I found it to be a bit on the small side, but not small enough to be unsatisfying. There wasn't a ton of meat inside, but the meat was sliced thick enough to be filling. The balsamic vinaigrette was tasty, but scarce. I went again later in the week and tried a buffalo chicken wrap, as I love anything buffalo chicken. I was a little disappointed with it, as with most buffalo items, it was heavy on blue cheese and scarce on buffalo. But it wasn't bad. Thick chunks of white meat chicken inside for a hearty wrap. Feeling I'd played it a bit safe the first two times, I decided to try one of their paninis today. I got a Smokey Robinson, filled with smoked turkey, ham, lettuce, provolone, tomato, roasted red pepper and garlic mayo. I also got a chicken caesar salad. The panini was much more satisfying and tastier than the wraps, and the salad was also very good, with a good, strong caesar dressing tossed on it. The employees are never mean or rude, but can seem rather indifferent at times, especially the guy at the register. Service is usually pretty fast, even on busy days. Prices are fair, but some of the items can seem a bit on the small side. I'd definitely recommend for a light, tasty, creative alternative lunch if you're looking for a switch from your usual, plain sandwich places.

My favorite lunch - #11. Chicken Salad, Grape and Nuts Sandwich!! Of course add chips!

The food is great! Love the chicken salad so much that it's hard to order something new!! The service is friendly and fast. Can order in person, online for pick up or through grub hub.

Interesting little place. Nice variety of foods, wraps sandwiches. Liked the menu. Beverages in cans a bit boring. Sandwiches fresh. Only thing is they should spend more time cleaning. Floors, glass between customer and cook. Could be cleaner.

Got Roast Beef/Lettuce/Provolone/ Thousand Island. Sandwiches are hard to mess up and impress when they are cold cut but the price for the size along with the roast beef being a good cut definetly make this a good sandwich and I can understand the enjoyment. Coupled with it I ordered a soup and while they didnt have the meatball medley the chicken noodle was warm and comforting and additionally they gave us a mac salad to make up for the meatball medley being ordered but not available. Love a good paprika on my mac salad and they did it well. Would go back and try something else!

We came around lunch time on Saturday August 30th 2025 - Upon walking in, I noticed the menu board was written in very small font and had no descriptions so it was kind of hard to figure out what we wanted. I asked the employee for the most popular choice and she recommend the Brooklyn special which had swiss cheese, pastrami, corned beef and prosciutto. This came on a rye bread, with a type of mayonnaise and we added lettuce, tomato and onions. We got only 3 pickles for the huge sandwich which really did not seem like enough. I appreciated how much meat there was but the overall sandwich was lacking in flavor. The "Russian dressing" tasted like regular mayo. I did not see a regular reuben sandwich option on the menu, perhaps this was something you needed to request - but it would have been better to have a toasted bread perhaps or just a different sauce. Portion was huge, pricing was fair, but the overall flavor was boring so that is disappointing.

It was fine. Would've been better if the cheese was actually hot. Expensive at 15 bucks for four pieces of bread with beer cheese and scallions on top. I had the beef on week. Partner had the CHAMP. They really enjoyed theirs. The beef on wreck was good. Horseradish had a real kick which I appreciated. The sandwiches came with "rough cut" chips which seemed to be made in house. Fine for what they were I suppose, I don't personally like homemade chips so I can't judge too hard. Came to nearly 60 bucks for two sandwiches and an app. Expensive for what it was. Not a bad experience but I'll only be back if my partner has a craving.

I ordered the Beef of Weck and Potato Salad given past reviews seemed to deem these two items as menu staples. The potato salad was fine, in need of a big pinch of salt. The Beef on Weck was a hardy, and a big portion for a sandwich, the extra horseradish wasn't necessary unless you're really a fan. However, the sandwich should be eaten with the au jus, otherwise it borders on flavorless. I did find the bun overly salty. Filling but not fufillying. Additional note... When I went to pickup the staff member wanted me to sign off on a receipt of the full amount without the discount. When I stated I paid online, he responded it had to do with the fact DoorDash doesn't allow for a tip. When I asked for a new bill representative of what I paid, the manager came and said they ask for the signature to confirm it was picked up... Then I said, I can indicate that here on the app, and he agreed and let me go with my food. Overall the interaction made me uncomfortable as I've never experienced a similar situation with pickup. Perhaps just me, but something I feel someone should be made aware of if they're ordering to-go.

Honestly I didn't even know that this little shop was hiding here until a friend of mine had told me about it. Hiding in the Mass Mutual Buildings Lobby in Downtown Syracuse at the corner of Fayette and Clinton Street, unless you happen to notice the sandwich board sign out in front of the building you wouldn't notice it. The good about this place from what I can tell you is rotating $5 lunch specials, free delivery of lunch within the downtown area, a rewards program based off points of dollars spent, and a friendly staff and reasonable prices on a pretty expansive menu for a cracker jack box sized Deli. And most of the food is fresh prepared right in front of you. Sometimes even by Joe himself! I decided to try something that was a regular item on their menu which is cleverly named with streets and areas in Syracuse. I had the "Onondaga" which is essentially a chicken bacon ranch panini. One thing I love about it is its a pressed sandwich, Which next time I try one of their pressed ones I'll get a different bread. The standard for this sandwich is a local favorite, pastas stretch bread. Which is absolutely delicious, but it just doesn't press well in my opinion and it makes it overly chewy. If I customized it a little and got a different bread, it would have helped it. But it did use a lot of fresh ingredients bacon made right on the flat top and roasted chicken breast cut right there, and a good quality ranch dressing. I got a side of fries as well which were just basic shoestring fries but were fresh fried to order for me. I can say if you want a budget lunch that is of good quality, Joe's definitely is a great choice, as it ran me less than $10 for quite a bit of lunch with a drink. I can definitely say that I will make a return trip. And even though its hard to find for the general public, they definitely are loved by the downtown workers as they probably churned through 30 customers as I ate mine in their quaint little dining area of about 4 tables. If its that routinely eaten, I think you as well might like to "Eat At Joe's"!
