7/20/23 My follow up appt with Dr. Heur, it's been 6 months already? As they say....time flies…read more.. Check was easy peasy, painless. I barely sat to wait & I was immediately called in by Rene, the tech. He us instantly warm & genuine, nice to converse with. Checked my eye pressures, had my read the Snellen chart via a monitor (not the paper chart anymore . Then just like that, bam done. Next, a resident working with Dr. Heur comes in & assesses the placement of my lenses & he says it's in excellent shape & condition. Nice chap. Enter Dr. Heur, in his easy & confident stride, he's also pleasant, checks my eyes and says he seed an opacity on the right eye. He says he will be monitoring this eye and continue to assess whether it progresses or not. So far so good. Overall, it was a great appointment. I am very happy with the outcome and he says he will see me in one year. Check out was just as easy and I made my appointment for next year. Highly recommend this clinic & practice!

And the other pair of glasses I thought had scratched lenses. Walking in the receptionist was lazy, short, and to me seemed kind of rude. She was very quick to say that I have to come back between 1 & 2pm for real help (which is what they always say like every single time!) And then she followed that with and yeah they can't fix this so you'll have to choose a new pair. Like really??? I said no way, our glasses still have some life in them and our vision hasn't changed in the last 3 exams but they were not helpful. I did some reading, and it turns out what I thought were scratches on my lens was dried up salt from my eyebrow sweat lol! I used some cleaners and soaked it and got way better. And for the broken pair, we used like a gorilla glue and it's been holding up for almost 2 months now. 5 star service would have been an excellent experience if she wasn't so annoyed that a client walked in, she had knowledge and experience with glasses, cared about making it better, and at least asked to see my glasses. I could tell that she didn't care, and therefore it means her boss doesn't care.

I was previously a patient at this office, which is why I decided to call them again when I started experiencing pain in my eye. I've called multiple times trying to schedule an appointment, but my calls were repeatedly ended. I was told they were having internet issues, but that explanation was very frustrating considering what happened afterward. Another person and I called around the same time. They answered her call and were able to schedule her an appointment, while they did not answer my call when I called the office number. The voicemail also specifically says to leave a message with your phone number so someone can call you back. I left a message, but I never received a call back. When I finally did speak with someone, I felt that the receptionist was extremely rude toward me, and I also felt that the doctor was rude during the call. I was calling because I was experiencing eye pain and was simply trying to get an appointment. I don't feel that I should have been treated that way, especially as a previous patient. I also want to mention that since receiving care at this office, I've noticed that my vision has gotten worse. I can't say what caused the change in my vision, but it is something I've personally experienced and it has added to my concerns. At this point, I will be looking elsewhere for my eye care. I understand that offices can be busy and that technical issues happen, but patients should still receive basic communication, professionalism, and respect--especially when they are calling because they are experiencing pain. Very disappointed with my experience.

I called the Friday before Easter to schedule an appointment for my 91 year old father. They were able to give me an appointment for the next Tuesday. The receptionist took into consideration my father's age and made sure he would be given extra time. As he was doing the tests, the technician was very patient and caring. It took awhile for my dad to understand what he needed to do and a few times the tests had to be redone. At one point they even had to call the doctor to come assist. Through it all, they were extremely understanding and patient. This was exactly the type of office that I was looking to take my elderly dad to. Thank you to the entire staff for their teamwork and exceptional service.

DEFRAUDING a 19-year-old…read more My son walked into LA Optometry in Montebello yesterday, asked what the costs would be for a contact lens exam and fitting. He was told for $75.00 he would receive a contact exam, fitting, and training. He had just taken an eye exam two months ago, so he brought his eye prescription with him. After taking the test and getting fitted for the contacts, he was charged $145.00. When asked why it had doubled, their answer to him was "we had to give you two eye exams". So basically they're committing FRAUD, telling customers one price and charging you another after the fact. Their staff should have made it very clear to my son, that he would get charged for two eye exams from the start. That they would need to retest his eyes and test a second time for contacts separately. That was never explained to him. If we had known from the start, he could have simply returned to his original Optometrist and not have gotten scammed by adults who know better. So much for helping local businesses. We'll NEVER return, and we'd strongly recommend to anyone thinking of using their business to have the price written down before you get charged double.

His customer service is top-notch, and he is incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and was genuinely kind and patient throughout the process. Dr. Alina was also wonderful! She was very thorough with my eye exam and took the time to explain everything clearly, which I really appreciated. It's obvious that the team truly cares about their patients and doesn't rush through appointments. Overall, I had a great experience and felt well taken care of.
