I came in today 07/31. The young lady with the tattoos on her arms has poor customer service. I'm not sure if she doesn't know Spanish or just doesn't like to speak it, but a man was asking her questions and she completely ignored him! Typically when this happens employees do as best as they can to get by or apologize and excuse themselves until they can get someone to help. Instead this young lady rudely ignored the patient and was acting as if she didn't hear. When someone is speaking to you, you answer! If you have trouble doing this, start your own business where you don't have to interact with people directly. What a poor excuse of a worker. read more

I lost my prescription glasses, so I decided to get color prescription contacts. Dr. Greg Pearl, made my day! He gave me very detail information about the health of my eyes. It was great to meet such a professional and eloquent individual, and I was fortunate to have him as an optometrist. read more

Making an appt is usually a win win but not here. I've had less wait time at the DMV (with appt). And as I sit here 30 mins past my appt.. they are still taking walk ins. Front end staff seem young. They have food at the desk and don't speak clearly or look at customers when they speak. When you book your appt they ask to confirm your eye insurance... when you arrive they ask for it all again. They didn't wipe down eye prescreening machine in front of me.. so I asked them to wipe them down. Someone just left bc his appt time has come and gone... Taking off a star for that.. read more

A dr patel fitted my mom in contacts a few months ago. she rushed the exam. my mom couldn't see too good with the contacts so we came back to have it fixed. dr patel seem annoy with my mom when we came back and was rude. just because my mom doesn't speak english too good doesn't mean she can't tell your being rude to her. my mom wanted to cry after. we went to another office for another opinion. it turns out the power in the contacts were way off and the new doctor fixed it. she can see with contacts now. dr patel also needs to use deoderant. we won't be coming back. read more

Every year for four years I have came here to get my prescription for contacts and about seven for my glasses. And every single year this office fails to call when your contacts are ready. This year, it took a WHOLE MONTH and I had to contact them. They had the nerve to tell me that they overlooked the fact the my prescription is different in both eyes, so no, my order is not ready. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? They didn't even give me my prescription for my contacts(they only gave me my glasses prescription), so I can't even order any yet. This office is a complete disappointment, and I will no longer be coming here or purchasing my glasses and contacts from Costco's Optical center. This experience was completely unacceptable and I should have taken my business somewhere else the first, second, AND third time this happened Update: I received my trial contacts today(they were ready for I think two days, but I delayed my pick up). I didn't think I could be more disappointed but, I was wrong! One of my trial contacts was ripped in to fit in the ziploc baggie(the row would have fit without ripping it), and it was ripped wrong and caused the liquid in it to spill out. read more

I have been coming here for contacts and glasses for years. For the past few years service has gotten worse each time! When I came in she had me sit at one of the machines and before she started the second.. I asked if I needed to take my contacts out! She said yes as she looked at the girl at the desk... is that not part of her job? I wear them all the time, did not think to remove them till I was moved to the next machine. Then I was called to the office, a young man I had not had before asked a few questions and then put the chart up, I could not read anything! then he went through the plates of 1 better than 2! He never had it to where it was really clear! He sat down filled the paperwork out and said my samples will be here in 7 to 10 days. I go to the desk to pay and she said I owe $155.00, I asked why it was more than the $118.00 that shows in front! She informed me that is the base price... with no explanation! They have a very young staff, very unprofessional, my contacts were far from the correct prescription and had to set up a 2nd appointment and be seen by an older gentleman that knew what he was doing and was out of there in 15 minutes! It has taken me over 6 weeks of running back and forth for samples and turndowns! They never once called and said my samples were in! They need to have some supervision of employees or they are going to be going down hill! My eyes are important to me and I know to everyone else! This review is way overdue. I told myself I would write out a review once getting home from my exam but I didn't. Months later, here I am. Anyways I want to start off with saying that I honestly don't understand why this Optometrist has such bad reviews on yelp, considering it has great reviews on google, which is why I decided to write my review here instead. I honestly had an amazing experience here and I want to acknowledge everyone in the office for this. Don't underestimate this office regardless of how tiny it looks! Regardless of how busy this place can get, I was seen within minutes! My appointment was on a late afternoon and despite me being a couple minutes late (and how busy they were), the staff was quite flexible with still getting me in. I actually want to acknowledge the front desk girl, who's name is Ashley, simply because she was amazing and lovely the entire time, she made me feel welcomed from the moment I stepped in and she's always so cheerful. She was very thorough with me, and explained in detail my insurance coverage in the office. She answered every question and doubts I had, and she was very professional and nice. Things like that definitely make an affect on anyones day when it comes to getting their concerns addressed, and she wasn't like this with just me, she was like this with everyone who stepped into the office. If you go try spotting out a girl with the silver hair! She was also working with a boy, who's name I did not catch, but he too was very kind and professional. He pre examined me before going inside the doctors room and was very quick with the process. These two staff members honestly did a great job keeping the flow of patients in such a efficient manner considering how many patients they were helping and the tiny work space they are in. No matter how busy they were, they acknowledged everyone who entered the office along with having a good sense of humor with each other. It helps create a lively environment. Last but not least, the doctor. Dr. Au was such a lovely doctor. She was AMAZING! She was very professional and took her time with me in the exam room which I greatly appreciate. In no means did I feel rushed. She answered every question I had thoroughly, and she explained everything so well. She was very knowledgable when I asked her questions about lasik or just anything in general. I know she cared about my health considering she recommended me and placed me on trials on different contact brands that would be more suitable for my eyes and she was right! Thanks to Dr. Au I'm no longer having the issues I used to have with my old contacts. I'm definitely coming back here and I hope the service continues being as amazing as it was to me that day. :) read more

I've been getting my eye exams for contacts here for many years now and when my 13yr old daughter asked me for contacts I brought her in. Dr Pearl was very helpful and kind when helping her with her exam. It was a great experience I highly recommend him. He took the time to ensure she had the prescription she needed and we didn't leave until she was comfortable with putting them on an off. 5 years ago I went to Dr. Greg Pearl on a whim, I was out of contacts, called a few places and lucky me, Dr. Pearl had availability to see me that day. Dr. Pearl is GREAT! He is a friendly and patient, he gives a VERY comprehensive eye exam. He attentively listen to my questions and addressed all my concerns. I have sent several family members to Dr. Pearl and they have also been happy with his prefessional service. He office staff is also very nice, attentive and professional. They are open late and have weekend hours so you can always find a convenient time for an appointment. A big plus for me is that they send me a reminder for my appointment each year, so I never have to remember. read more

Doctors- Amazing! The 2 Front Desk Receptionist girls- another story! They have the worst customer service in the world! 1. Both did not acknowledge me when I stepped in the office- on their phones. 2. Argued with me and talked to me slow like I was dumb when I was just trying to explain my prescription contact lens 3. Gave me my items and walked away leaving me in silence as if they want nothing more to do with me. WOW, if you don't want to help people don't be in customer service! Stay away! I explicitly told them I wasn't interested in an angiography for an additional $20. They went ahead and snuck it on my bill anyway. I called back and the receptionist tried to blame the doctor. Offered a refund if I drove all the way back. What a shitty sales tactic. Most likely getting a small commission for upselling the angiography.STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHADY BUNCH!! read more

Love Dr Pearl he is awesome. He genuinely comes across as a doctor who values and loves his profession, just ask him about his volunteer work in Central America and he lights up. He is knowledgeable and takes his time to explain and answer all your questions. He is mindful of your comfort and usually provides you with samples to make sure your contacts are right for you. His support staff is questionable at times. Ive seen a couple of cranky ones but aside from that everything is good for me. I highly recommend him :) read more

I was long overdue for an eye exam. Fortunately, I have vision coverage through my employer, so I looked at the list of providers in my area. I was quite pleased to discover that Dr. Pearl, with an in-store practice at the Lakewood Center Costco store, was on the list. I was able to schedule a Saturday appointment. On the day of the appointment, I was given some paperwork to fill out. Then one of the front office staff had me take a few eye tests prior to seeing the doctor. I couldn't help but notice that the two ladies in the front office have to share a rather cramped corner. There were a lot of patients to see the day I went, so both of them were constantly busy and amazingly enough, despite their cramped space, they never bumped into each other! When I went into the exam room with Dr. Pearl, I sat down and he proceeded to conduct the exam. It had been a number of years since my last exam, as I mentioned previously, and I was impressed with the technological advances with regard to the exam itself and the equipment used, which is now automated with the doctor controlling it through his computer. I enjoyed Dr. Pearl's friendly and comforting demeanor. He was willing to answer any questions I had and he was very patient. He told me that since my vision has gotten to a point where very little changes are expected, he recommended I come back in two years instead of one year. This review is for the front desk workers only. The doctors are very nice, but the front desk is so un-professional. I had been going to this doctor for a few years, but this time I had a new insurance. I called and told the girl on the phone, she ignored me when I said that I had a new insurance I paid myself. She told me that my social should be enough, so I gave it to her. My insurance info didn't come up and I told her that I had a member number if she wanted to use it. She said no, and that she would have to call the insurance. Did she? No because I called about an hour later and she said she hadn't been able to call. Ok I get it, they get busy I made my appointment and went. When I got there, it was horrible. The tech was rude, impatient, and didn't even give a friendly smile. I continued to ignore all this because I liked my doctor. I went ahead and finished my appointment and got in line to pay. A man walked right in front of me in line, and the same tech took him without asking who was next. I ignored it again, and asked the girl that helped me what the problem was with my insurance, and that's when the tech butted in and started arguing with me. I told her that I was trying to help her over the phone but she wouldn't have it. She continued arguing with me to the point that I just asked for her name and left. I called a few days later to talk to the manager of the area and complain but for some reason, she was on her side saying things like "She's my best worker" uh really? Then why is she rude, why isn't she friendly, why can't she even smile? Horrible service and I let them know I wouldn't be returning but of course, the manager didn't care. I suggest looking up Optometrists out of Costco's because the Costco one's are small and un-organized making it a recipe for disaster. read more

The optometrist is located inside Costco and Dr. Pearl was awesome. He answered all of my questions and I will definitely recommend this location to my friends and family. Plus side to it all, I did a little bit of shopping at Costco right after my appointment. I will 100% come back for future check ups. read more

Awesome Dr Pear a Professional knowledgeable and the best staff .. have been going since day one that blurry vision started and in the last 8 yrs. it's nothing but the best even ask for a prescription for contact lenses. I didn't care for this optometrist at all. Granted I was a walk in so a long wait is inevitable. But I get there and inform them of my insurance in a new patient etc. They ask if my insurance is accepted there? Um, I think so, but isn't that something they check out? They informed me there are appointments every 15m, I am seated for 40 min and I double check with the desk secretary to make sure my insurance is ok. She replies "I haven't checked yet" okay...so I check my website and the optometrist is listed as a provider then she questions me"you realize we are independent of Costco" something she stated twice already. And I let her know yes the doctor Greg pearl is listed as a provider. So I wait some more and she still hadn't verified. So I leave it was ridiculous. Not on the ball at all. Don't go here. I highly unrecommend it. It felt as if they had no intention of seeing me. read more

The Hoxie office staff seems to have challenges with communication. Office hours are not always accurate and they don't update phone recording or website to reflect that they aren't in office. I suggest an appointment for routine follow up. read more

From the receptionists to Dr. Winters, the way I was treated & witnessed others being treated was exceptionally great!! They were all very attentive, courteous, friendly, & quick. I've been to this office a few times already and each time I go there I'm always rushed. My first visit was when I was about nine, Dr. Pearl was actually practicing there and he took his time to answer any concerns/questions my parents had. We kept going there but discontinued when Dr. Winters began to practice. It wasn't until these past few months that I made up an appointment with this office. My questions are never answered (mainly b/c Dr. Winters is always in a rush and just looks like he wants the patients to hurry up) and my eye exam for glasses are no more than 10 mins long. Actually the last time I visited I asked Dr. Winters what my vision was and he said, "don't worry you don't need to know that"... I'm actually going back today for a re-exam b/c my prescription is making my eyes hurt. I would not recommend this office at all, it is not worth the money (consultation + frames/contacts). This is my last visit and I'm glad. read more

I was really happy with the exam. My doctor was very sweet. Pretty Asian girl. They have a new machine that takes picture of the back of your eye without dilation. Next door to the office inside of Costco is the lens and glasses. I found an awesome pair of glasses super-duper cheap. So new frames and lenses about $120 clams.....nice!!! read more

I booked an appointment with the staff over the phone, they were friendly, efficient & even sent a reminder text on the day of our appointment. Carla Iseman OD & Dora Szymanowicz OD were amazing! My sons (6&7) aren't that easy to examine but they were both so patient & willing to go the extra mile. Dr. Szymanowicz determined that one if my sons is in need of vision therapy (which our former Optometrist hadn't determined in the three years my son has been wearing glasses. She was very patient and thorough. I left with a solution to my sons vision problem & resources for his specific problems. These ladies were fantastic. Excellent customer service. read more

Last YEAR I had the contacts exam done and paid for the initial contacts, they never came in and staff had me come back 4 times to try and pick them up..but supposedly they never arrived, the last time I went to check there was a different receptionist, this time around I went only for glasses prescription and the relief DR. Noticed I had a contact exam the previous year and therefore asked if I didnt like my contacts, I told her what happened and she claimed I could pay for just the lenses exam since I never recieved my contacts. When checking out the (new) receptionist told me that I had to pay everything all at once and she couldnt find my order slip from the year prior but her system said I never recieved last year's order. Whatever. When ordering 2 pairs of glasses I was ignored by staff and was skipped I had number 168 and was upset when they ignored me but we're able to call all customer's until number 189 !!!! A woman named Vicky begrudgingly offered to help me and when I asked for frames to try on she walked away and took her break!!! Then I was ignored AGAIN until number 199 was called!!! I had to ask another employee to help me and she had Meggan help me, and I asked Meggan "is she ok? Or did she not want to help me ?" To which she replied that "oh she was helping two others shes on break now" as soon as Vicky saw I was being helped she got off the phone and called a different customer. When paying for my frames she took over the cash register I was being processed on..and had Meggan use the register 1ft away. I made up my mind and after I recieve all my items I will never come back to this location. read more

The best care ever offered. I didnt see Dr. Pearl but instead one of the other optometrists. A tall thin Woman, blonde hair, sadly i did not get her name but she took her time to listen to what i really wanted, and what i really needed, so that I walked out happy with what i paid for. The 2 receptionists were extremely pleasant and polite to talk to making it extremely comfortable for my first time visiting them. Speedy service as well. Got my eye exam, prescription and contacts in 30 minutes flat!! Definitely won me over as a loyal customer. :) read more
