    Text communication with no proper explanation of the issue at hand

    I had a great experience here in 2019 but I was extremely disappointed today. Funny to read that this happened to someone else, a few reviews down below, and extremely disappointing to read the response from the business owner. It sounds defensive and again clearly a lack of accountability. I had a scheduled appointment from 2 weeks ago. I made all these arrangements - switched schedules around - to show up, I even showed up early. To our surprise, they do not see my daughter because supposedly her insurance card was outdated. I have not made any changes to her insurance and we have been using her insurance with no problems anywhere else. The girl at the front states they had checked a few days ago (on Wednesday, today is Friday 3:30) and that's why they SENT ME A TEXT (see below) to bring her card. I brought her card, that's not the problem. What they needed to do is CALL ME AND EXPLAIN THE ISSUE so that I would have figured it all out prior to me getting to the appointment on time. We could have cancelled and/or rescheduled via a phone call. She said in order for my daughter to be seen I had to call her insurance for the updated information. Everyone knows the likelihood of this being corrected on a Friday late afternoon is nearly impossible. It was a complete waste of my time. The only thing the office admin said is 'I'll make sure my coworker knows for next time'. That did nothing for me. There was no acknowledgement for wasting my time, no remorse or professionalism whatsoever.

    I've been practically blind so long I just settled in the fog, then a distant face appears and as it starts to smile, the fog clears up and I can see again! This face was Vanessa! Let's start off with, I love that they take walk-ins. Sometimes I don't like appointments and just want to do things in the spur of the moment. So it goes after a bad day and hanging out with a friend to cheer me up. So emo lol. I drove by my optometrist and thought, "Hey, it's about time I go again why not now." So I walked in and was able to be seen. Dr was nice and friendly. (^_^) After the eye exam, I was handed off to Vanessa to help pick the proper contacts for me. I haven't had color in a while and wanted to try it again. I have astigmatism so colored contacts are limited and pricey. Luckily she wasn't all about the $$$ and was able to give me honest answers and suggestions. I was able to try on the colors available and sat there for a good time trying to decide. Since she was so honest I thought I'd lay it on her that I hate my glasses and asked why when I pay to get them thinned out they're still thick. She explained to me the shape of the lens before they are cut and how to choose the right frames to prevent them from coming out so thick. Mind blown.. I never knew and no one ever told me all these years I was wearing coke bottles glasses. She took her t in me and helped me look through multiple frames to find the right one. I added on a pair of glasses and they came in quite quick.. let me tell you. I love them!!! They're so thin and dont even stick out.. HUGE difference from my last few pairs. Gosh I was so excited! This is now my forever optometrist lol. I definitely recommend this place (^_^)

    Not only does their selection include all the top brand glasses, the customer service is Great! They have state of the art equipment and they take most insurances. The decor is calm, serene and inviting. Dr. Nguyen was thorough, and explained the examination procedures every step of the way. Morena (sp) worked the front office on the day of my visit and she was very helpful and honest assisting me with my frame selection. Although my heart is still set on those Red Carpet Melodies by MJB, i was in need of an upgrade on my shades. They had a bogo (buy one, get one half off) deal going so I opted for the oversized maroon Gucci shades & some slate black Michael Kors shades (also oversized, but proportionately perfect for my face) I see myself being a long time patient of Bellflower Optometry.

    Found them through yelp and I love this place!!!! Prices are reasonable and the people are so nice and helpful not going anywhere else !!

Being so new to technology I wanted to learn everything about fist new glasses and Bamm!! I met Amanda such a very intelligent attentive young lady. She explain how to work the glasses with such detail and she was smiling all the time and was very helpful We downloaded the Meta app and connected to my phone so I can record videos and take pictures cool I was a kid with a new toy... Thank you Amanda for that experience you let me have and thank you to all the staff that work in me getting my new glasses very very satisfied. I bout an extended warranty for my glasses and yes I came back for a new set and not only I have no problems getting a new pair I got upgraded to Meta second generation for free since gen1 was not available anymore I believe I only pay a copay of $100 dollars. I recently came in to get a second pair of glasses and although I did not have insurance that covered vision, they were very accommodating to work with me to get a pair, regardless. They also had a special that made getting a new pair of glasses that included a frame and lenses, very affordable. Janelle was the main person who worked with me on getting the second pair and was very friendly and accommodating. She was helpful in me narrowing down options for my second pair. I'm very thankful for her providing what I needed on my recent apt in a friendly and kind manner!

My most recent experience was the worst and why they're losing me as a customer. I no longer wanted daily contacts and ended up switching to the weekly ones after trying out the Acuvue Oasys (2 week lenses). I asked if they had another Acuvue lense since I used to use those before I switched to my Daily ones a few years ago but apparently they only have Acuvue Oasys for 2 week lenses. My eyes were killing me using those after only a few days which is why I tried out the weekly ones. Not having more that ONE brand for 2 week lense makes zero sense to me. How do you not have multiple products for clients when it comes to contact lenses, but you have hundreds of glasses. Makes me think they get a cut from Acuvue which is why they push it on you. I never thought about this before because I never asked to switch. I ended up ordering the weekly lenses but received the daily ones instead. I even asked the lady who took my order if these were the weekly ones and she said yes. So im not getting a rebate since ive used the dailies before and even though i love the dailies I wanted to save some money by going with the week lenses and got the wrong order instead. I attached a picture below. The main reason I'm leaving as a customer. I also wanted to get my glasses but I ONLY wanted new frames since my lenses were fine. My dogs had chewed up the frames pretty bad and I figured it was time to switch them up. I asked Chris if i could order the same frames and just pop out lenses and put them in the new frames and he said they couldn't do that because of some bs excuse. I can't recall exactly what was said since this was weeks ago. What he did say was that i could get NEW frames elsewhere and come here to get NEW lenses If I wanted to go that route. I ended up calling another optometry place and they said they could do it if its the same frames. I was about to go there but they werent in my network so i would have to pay more with them. I ended writing a review for them since they were very nice over the phone and very informative (feel free to look it up on my recent reviews). I did call Gottlieb once again hoping to speak to someone other than Chris to see if the info provided by Chris was accurate, but they put me through Chris and he said once again that we had this conversation already and I cant just pop in the old lense and put them in new frames. Afterwards, I ended up ordering the same RayBan frames but in different colors through RayBan and picked them up at LensCrafters. I had them pop in the new lenses, but they had one of the lenses popping out more than the other side which made me dizzy. I ended going to Gottlieb again to see if they could fix the lense for me since I've been a client for years. The lady at the front desk helped me and I had to repeat what the problem was 3 times before she brought Chris over. " I got contacts with you guys, but I got my frames elsewhere. They popped in the new lenses but it doesn't feel right, so can you please help me adjust the lense. ". Chris then asked when I bought the original glasses and I said 3-4 years ago and he questioned who did the lenses because it doesn't look like these will fit and I said "You guys did it. They're the same frames but a different color". He then said "ok, were going to get to the bottom of this and get some answers". Felt like he didn't believe me when he said that line. A simple search of my purchases with them could've provided evidence. Chris then took the glasses and got help from someone to have them fit correctly and the glasses were perfect once again. The end result turned out great for me but the process to get there was horrific. I was stuck on one brand of contacts and i don't like that I was lied to multiple times about popping in old lenses with new frames. The worst part of it all ....someone else has experienced this and I'm wondering how many others are being lied to. Get yourself a good optometrist just like you would a good trustworthy mechanic. These are all businesses and they're all trying to make a buck, but the ones that have YOUR best interest will have you as repeat customers and that's how they will make their buck instead of up selling their clients on things they don't need/want.
