My dad is hard of hearing but he can understand what others saying if they speak slowly. Dr. Chen assumed my dad doesn't understand her and called out for interpretation immediately. Avoid buying glasses here--total scam! Two months ago, I bought a pair of glasses for $550 at this store. I used the exact same prescription I had two years ago, with the same High Index 1.60 lenses. The size of the new glasses was almost identical to my old pair, so I expected the thickness of the lenses to be similar as well. However, the new glasses are noticeably much thicker. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I returned to the store, and the manager, Paul, agreed that I could switch to a smaller frame, which might make the lenses thinner. I agreed and chose a different frame. Paul also told me that they would reserve the second frame for me and order a third frame in the same shape but a different color so I could compare and choose. I really appreciated his help at that point.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called the store every week to check if the third frame had arrived, but each time I was told, "No." Finally, five weeks later, the third frame arrived, and I went to the store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Here's where things went wrong: The second frame they had reserved for me was gone. It seemed like they had sold it or misplaced it. So now, I only had the third frame to look at, with nothing to compare it to. I first came here for convenience & now regret my choice. My experience is the place is extremely expensive & driven by $$$, not patient care/support. I've worn glasses/contacts my whole life and have seen many optometrists. Overall, I think the quality of work is ok. They have modern machines and seem to have a clean lab & good testing facilities. The eyeglasses prices were extremely high, easily 1.5-2x more compared to most competitors & they only allow one yr for eye glass script, while many allow 2 yrs Which of course forces you back into their store to buy another pair of their super expensive glasses sooner than most need. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have zero flexibility to allow for special situations& while I get it, there are some good reasons for reasonable guidelines on renewing glasses/scripts, The lack of willingness to work with me was undoubtedly driven by greed& getting me to pay a lot $$$.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] to them instead of helping me get through a short time period of a month that I'm dealing with to get a procedure and a new prescription lined up It's totally unnecessary and instead of securing a customer for life I'm writing a negative review [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bottom line is when you walk in here , hold on to your wallet the are overly driven by profit and much less concerned with helping their patients[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's plenty of better options out there. Horrible at communicating/customer service. Came in on Sunday to set an appointment. Told them I needed to get my glasses in two weeks went over dates and they said they if I booked Wednesday at 9am it's possible to get it in 7-9 days. Came in on Wednesday after adjusting my work hours only to find out they booked me for next Wednesday and tried to tell me it was my mistake. I mean, we went over time schedule together at the store and they said it's possible to get my glasses in 2 weeks. Wasted my time with a rude workers who blame customers on their mistakes. Not ever going here again, and their glasses selection sucks. Update: on top of this they pulled my insurance without providing me any services. I go to the place every two years to get my eyes checked. The staff and doctors are younger and pretty friendly. The only downfall to this place is parking. Since it shares a lot with busy 99 ranch and many other Asian eateries and stores, you may have to circle around a few times before getting a decent spot. The eye exam process is pretty quick using their machines. After the girls get the results, you are sent to an exam room for further testing by the doctors. They give you your numbers for lenses and then send you back into the lobby area where you choose some frames. They have a wide variety of frames and brands to choose from. This is probably why I just come to them despite of the difficulty in parking. Almost forgot, they also accept walk ins which makes it convenient. I like how they aren't pushy on the sell so it's a pleasant experience. This year I opted not to get any frames or lenses since all I was recommended was sunglasses. I will continue to come every two years for a check up. read more

I've been using this store for more than 20 years because they are the only one nearby me. Their service have drained down a lot after pandemic. It seems that they only hired inexperienced young girls who is lacking of training. I went to pick up my nearsighted glasses last month and found they put wrong lenses o it. Without any apology they simply asked me to go back after one week. I just stop by to order another sunglasses with prescription. The counter told me that they had a spot for me so I waited. After 20 min waits, they told me they need to reschedule me without any explanation. If they could not take me, why they had to let me wait ? I've been sporadically visiting this optometrist since I was in high school. Their located in a busy shopping center so I'd suggest planning an appointment during non-peak eating hours. Nothing has really changed or improved over the years but they have been pretty consistent. Overall, a peasant optometrist visit, great selection of affordable & designer frames, and a front desk team that doesn't seem to care about guest interaction. I've been here so many times and have even referred friends over that felt the exact same way. All the other eye doctors I have seen here besides Dr Michael Chang were patient, nice, and friendly towards me when I had any questions to ask. More than 4 years ago when I had an eye exam with Dr Michael Chang, he asked me if I had any questions after he finished conducting the eye exam for me. I simply asked what age would my eye sight stop getting worst. I was not being rude or a smart aleck in any way. In response to my question, Dr Chang sighed with annoyance and irritation and told me there is no scientific explanation. He then asked me how old I was and when I told him how old I was, he said I could get a heart attack although it was quite rare at my age. In summary, he told me that when my eye sight will stop getting worst cannot be predicted. I found Dr Chang's attitude towards me to be very bad and found it inappropriate that he made an analogy that I could get a heart attack at a young age. He could have responded to my question differently and with better tone and attitude. During that same day when I asked him a simple question about Laser eye surgery, he responded abruptly to my next question like he did not want to help me by saying that's why it is called surgery. First of all if you are dealing with personal problems in your life or are unhappy for any reason, you should not take it out on other patients. After Dr Mike Chang behaved like that towards me on that appointment, I stopped seeing him on purpose. All the other optometrists I seen after him at Precision Vision or other places were professional and friendly at all appointments. At this location, the other doctors I have seen that were professional, patient, and polite at every appointment I had with them in the past were Dr Nancy Imamoto, Geoffrey Hsu, and Joyce Chen. Also at other optometry places besides Prevision Vision Optometry, 99 percent of the optometrists I have seen in my entire life were patient, nice, and had a good attitude. read more

Precision Vision Optometry - They carry COACH! - Optometrists Near Me - Artesia, California

Tldr; They have a large selection of frames and it was easy to make an appointment, but the glasses took a long time to be ready because of the lab (both times!!). Their assistant Jessica was very patient with me, but the other assistant wasn't friendly. Make sure to do the Yelp check in for free lens cloth & cleaner! Dr. Chen did my eye exam and Jessica assisted me with the initial tests and picking out my frames. The eye exam took around half an hour to complete and then picking out frames took around an hour and a half because I'm so picky. Jessica was extremely patient with me and let me know that I could totally take my time with choosing the frames, which I really appreciated. At first I was rushing because I didn't want to seem so picky and inconvenience her with trying on so many frames, but she let me know I could sit down and take my time. In all, I think I tried on around 60 different frames. Once I narrowed the frames down to six different ones, I narrowed them down further to three and Jessica went over the pricing after insurance. I settled on Tory Burch ones and she took my measurements. Pricing will depend on your insurance but I thought it was pretty reasonable for the frames. The lenses though were pricier than the frames because of the add ons (Eyezen/anti-glare). After I paid the deposit, they called me to let me know that my insurance didn't actually cover Eyezen, so I only had to pay the remaining balance. The glasses took around two weeks to be ready because they said the lab was lagging. Once my glasses were finally ready, I tried them out for a few weeks. BUT my short Asian nose made it hard to wear them. Make sure to get the "alternative fit" in order to avoid this mistake and to take a selfie to make sure you like how it looks. I had to exchange the lenses and they do charge a restock fee. The assistant helping me the second time wasn't as friendly and just seemed annoyed. This time, the glasses took 2-3 weeks to be ready because they arrived with a giant scratch and had to be sent back to the lab. Their lab needs to get their stuff together. I took the glasses back to get them tightened because they kept sliding down my nose, but they still feel loose. I ended up buying silicon ear cushions from Amazon to help keep them from sliding. read more

I needed new contacts, so I made an appointment on a Saturday at 4:30pm at Precision Vision Optometry. I brought a referral and the office was able to fit her in as well. I did call to check before bringing her in though. The office was busier than the last time I visited, which made me happy since Dr. Michael Chang is a friend. We play tennis together, so he has more in common with the former tennis professional than just the same name. He recommended that since I play a lot of tennis that I wear sunglasses between the hours of 10am to 4pm to protect my eyes. I will start testing to see if I can play with sunglasses. Dr. Chang is a great guy, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. The comprehensive eye exam was started with one of the friendly staff members, then completed by Dr. Michael Chang. I was happy to find out that my vision hasn't gone down hill since my last eye exam. My eyes are still -3.00. Dr. Chang could have pushed -3.25, but the difference was minute, so he recommended to stay with -3.00. With both contacts, I can see 20/15! I'm trying two different types of contacts to see which ones I like better. Once I figure that out, then I'll order my contacts through Precision Vision Optometry. I went grocery shopping at 99 Ranch and saw Precision Vision.. I was like.. Oh my VSP will expire soon, I need to use it. I walked in asked if they accepted VSP and they said yes. I made an appt and came the next day. the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I went thru all the machines before I saw the optometrist. I was impressed because it seemed new and state of the art. After the optometrist examined my eyes, it was time for me to pick my glasses. One the things about this place is they do not pressure you in getting glasses you cannot afford. Usually when I go to other places, they always try to pressure me to up sell me but this places doesn't. I picked a pair of Fendi glasses. After my VSP insurance, the lens and glasses cost me $88. What a fantastic deal! Remember I made my appt on Friday... and TADA!!! they called me on Monday to let me know that the glasses were already done!!!! they are fast.
