Great interacting and informative. The doctor was great with our children and spent the necessary time to inform us on next steps and care.

Wow how do you operate a business like this when the strong chemical smell as soon as you walk into the space makes you immediately run back out??? Management, are you not aware of the smell?? I am legit concerned for the health of the poor guy who is manning the front desk and has to sit in this intoxicating strong chemical smell all day. Please look into this!!! read more

I am a brand new patient at Modern Eyes Optometry. I've been in search of a better eye doctor for years and relieved to have found the right person! This is a legitimate optometry. Why is that? Because unlike other places, it is owned and operated by the optometrist. The newer businesses in the eye care industry are more focused on selling frames/eye glasses (which has a higher profit margin) than the actual eye care. At Modern Optometry, you will be seen by the same optometrist. At other places, you will not get consistent eye care because the optometrists are staff and they come and go. Every year, I used to get a new eye doctor and it's a gamble. There's a 50/50 chance you'll end up with a good one or on the flip side, a horrible staff. Dr. Chen is by far, the best eye doctor I've had. She is very thorough, intelligent and great with her patients. I appreciate that I will get the same care every single year. She did tell me that she has no plans of retiring anytime soon as her practice is established but relatively newer in her career (I asked!). Dr. Chen took her time with my initial eye check, asked the right questions and also provided good patient education. The clinic has great support staff. Candace and Alyssa are kind, thorough and good at what they do. They deliver great service and are always helpful! The clinic has a decent selection of frames. You will definitely find something that'll fit your needs and budget. They have Nike's, Oakley's, Gucci, Prada, Kate Spade, MKs and lots more brands to choose from. Give this place a go! I highly recommend it. I've tried a lot of optometrists in the Cerritos/Artesia area and I can tell you that you'll be happy at Modern Eyes Optometry. P.S. they follow COVID screening protocol by checking temperatures of people entering the clinic, disinfecting stations/desks as well as the frames tried on my customers and limiting the number of people in the clinic at any given time. read more

Stop searching, this is your new Optometry!! This place is amazing, they never fail to make me feel welcomed and cared for. Martin, Angelica and Brian are top tier receptionists that are always making me laugh and Dr. Chen is so informative and caring. If you still can't see why you should go, then you may just be blind, which is ALL THE MORE REASON you should visit Modern Eyes Optometry!!! read more

Great staff and great doctor. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Very easy to make an appointment

Made an appointment to modern eye optometry from the beginning the receptionist was very friendly and answered all my questions,The Dr. was extremely nice, love the experience. Their equipment is very updated I would recommend ,only thing I can say was a negative for me was that the restroom was not working I had to go to the restaurant next-door to use it so I hope they can fix that little issue but other than that it was great. read more

Best pediatric Optometrist EVER!!! My 4 yr old is hypersensitive and very shy but Dr. Chen was so gentle and kind while checking her eyes. Even when my little one was nonverbal during the exam, Dr. Chen was so patient and found ways to make it work.. she eventually opened up and felt comfortable. The exam was a success! Thank you Modern Eyes Optometry for taking care of my baby. Great service all around! read more

The team at Modern Eyes Optometry is amazing. Not only are they all very attentive and personable but they are super knowledgeable and informative during each part of the visit. My husband and I both went to get an eye exam and glasses. We'd read the great reviews and are happy to say the team at Modern Eyes more than lived up to their reputation. Dr. Chen is awesome and made us feel comfortable and answered all of our questions. Alyssa and Brian treated us like family as they worked to get us checked in, select our glasses and check out. Can't recommend this business enough! Looking forward to our next visit! read more

With Covid cases still being very high, I was hesitant to go to any doctor during this time. But my prescription had expired and I needed to order more contacts. I've never been here before but came to the shopping plaza often so I decided to call them and I'm so glad I did. I've honestly never really loved any of my other optometry spots so I would switch every other year. But I have to say that I've now found my go to place! First off, I felt safe coming in as they control the flow of who is coming inside the store with appointments. Second, they temperature check everyone coming in and the staff wears masks and they also require masks from customers. Last and just as important, the staff rocks! Alyssa is always so friendly, helpful and professional. She sets the tone of the place. And Dr. Chen was very thorough, honest and professional. She suggested trying some new brands as my contacts were a little old school, but wanted me to see how they fit through trials first. There was never a hard sell to buy or purchase anything, they are just very matter-of-fact and good people. These are the types of businesses I want to support and will be forever loyal to. Keep it up team, I'm a fan and you should try them too! read more

Wonderful staff and doctor. My entire family have been doing our annual exam here for years and always having great experiences here.

Great customer service! They always take care of me & my wife. I've been coming here for years.

I was on the hunt for a new optometry place after going to my old one for a majority of my life. After some research I came across Modern Eyes and decided to give them a try. I'm so happy/lucky I did! Everyone from the staff to Dr. Chen were so nice, accommodating, and thorough. I was used to feeling rushed when it came to my appointment but Dr. Chen was super thorough and took her time to answer any questions I had. They also have a really nice selection of glasses that fit anyones style. I love this place so much that I even got my dad to come here as well! Definitely recommend this place. They really go above and beyond for customer satisfaction. read more

My family has been going here for 10 years now and we are very well taken cared off. They have the best service and the most accommodating staff. My kids love seeing Dr. Jill Chen and Dr. Kenneth Bracken eveytime we go for our appointments. It is a comfortable and friendly place. They pleasantly answer all our questions. Silly as it may sound but we ALWAYS have fun seeing everyone there. Thank you so much for everything! From Team Carlson read more

Decided to come here because it was super close to my house (like a mile away). What do you know, it's run by the greatest people you'd ever meet. Each staff is very professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, caring... the list goes on. Dr. Chen is awesome! Calm and professional, really respectful, a doctor of high quality. Took her time to answer any questions and concerns and tailored to my needs. The staff spent extra time helping me choose the frames of my choice (went thru trays of frames) and also was patiently by my side cheering me on until I finally succeeded in putting on contacts for the first time (no joke guys...seriously took me a long time, thank you guys! :)) They take VSP. Email/text confirmations. Quick followups. Large variety of mostly Ray Ban and Toms frames, but they were the most recent ones, which is a plus in this modern world we live in. All the equipment looks brand new, inside is super clean. Can't think of any negatives Definitely Recommend! read more

This review is way overdue! A few months ago, a tiny bead from my facial cleanser got into my eye. I could not get it out, despite everything I've tried. It was late, but I took a chance by calling Dr. Chen's office and was told the doctor was about to go home. A few minutes after I made an appointment for the next day and hung up, I received a call back asking me to go to the clinic right away. I instantly felt much better after Dr. Chen removed the foreign object from my eye! I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Chen, who truly cares about her patients and has always taken the time to explain things to me. Everyone at the front desk is also friendly and helpful. I am a big fan of Modern Eye Optometry! read more

With all the years I have being going to different optometrist.. I can say this has been the best. Very smooth and easy. The staff and the Dr are nice and very friendly. I wasn't bombarded with sales pitches or pushed for things I didn't want or need. I was also in a pinch and they gave a me a same day appointment which was an added bonus. I would have gave them a 5 star review regardless. Definitely give this place a try. read more

I found Modern Eyes about a year ago. The office is very clean and has lots of styles of frames to choose from. The doctors take the time to listen to your needs and concerns so they can tailor your glasses to fit you. The office staff is very courteous and efficient. I am picky and particular about my glasses and customer service. These guys nail it. They know what they're doing and get it done. Modern Eyes is definitely a hidden gem. Review 54/366 Since Modern Eyes Optometry opened, Dr. Chen has become my new optometrist-- I was even flying in from Texas for my annual eye exams! Dr. Chen and her staff treat each patient with the utmost patience, care, and respect- you can tell they truly care about each patient and strive to provide the highest level of customer service. Unlike some doctors, Dr.Chen will make sure to answer any questions you might have, and also takes the time to explain your results, what you need to watch for, and makes sure you leave with all questions and concerns fully addressed. I've always felt comfortable under Dr. Chen's care-- I know her recommendations are all in the best interest of her patients. Oh and like the review below mentioned-- they've got Asian fit glasses. I got myself a pair of Raybans :) read more
