I went grocery shopping at 99 Ranch and saw Precision Vision.. I was like.. Oh my VSP will expire soon, I need to use it. I walked in asked if they accepted VSP and they said yes. I made an appt and came the next day. the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I went thru all the machines before I saw the optometrist. I was impressed because it seemed new and state of the art. After the optometrist examined my eyes, it was time for me to pick my glasses. One the things about this place is they do not pressure you in getting glasses you cannot afford. Usually when I go to other places, they always try to pressure me to up sell me but this places doesn't. I picked a pair of Fendi glasses. After my VSP insurance, the lens and glasses cost me $88. What a fantastic deal! Remember I made my appt on Friday... and TADA!!! they called me on Monday to let me know that the glasses were already done!!!! they are fast. This is my new fav. eye glass place.. i don't have to go to San Gabriel anymore. read more

BEWARE! PLEASE READ! they do not give you your prescription after your eye exam which is lawfully your right to have. they do that because they want their business to be the only place that has your prescription so you can only buy your lenses and frame from them! they make you to go out of your way to ask for a copy of your prescription ALSO they have a policy where they will write you a prescription and it will only last only one year. other optometries have your prescription last TWO years! their policy here does that to make $$$ off their patients each year. i needed to pay for an entire new eye exam to get replacement glasses. and my prescription didn't change! Went in 11/16 at 5:30PM. Giving 1 star for the girl who gave my mom the first set of eye tests. She was very rude and impatient with my mom. You can tell she did the tests very lazily and didn't care. She needs to work on her communication and her understanding of different kinds of people. Rudely asked me if my mom spoke english or not. She does.. Didn't care to even try to communicate with my mom when shes the patient. You cannot just assume. Take a communications class girl. You guys NEED a different girl. 5 stars for the actual doctor giving my mom the second set of tests. Very much the opposite in every way possible. read more

I really love how knowledgeable and thoroughly the doctor is here. She took her time to explain what and how to take care of my eyes. I appreciate her taking the time to do so. The staff here are also very helpful and breakdown what's covered with my insurance plan and with so much patience! I had a lot of questions. 4 out of 5 stars because they didn't have much eyeglass selections for the people with more rounded and wider face! I am very pleased with the service given at this optometry. My glasses are always very front heavy so whenever I get new glasses, getting them adjusted is always a hassle. However, Marilyn, who was helping me, was very patient when I needed my frames adjusted a few times. She made sure that they fit perfectly before I left. I really appreciated how friendly and how accommodating she was! I also love my glasses! When I first came to purchase them I mentioned to Marilyn that when driving at night, lights seemed to be very distracting when I drove. She recommended I get the anti-glare and I'm very happy to say I can now comfortably drive at night! If you feel like lights are a distraction while driving at night, anti-glare is a must! read more

I had an awesome experience here. I got referred here by my coworker because i now have a new insurance carrier and they were under the network. I got an appt. on a Sunday, if you can believe that, and it went great. I filled out paperwork got my examine, which btw was very clean and organized, and then picked out my glasses. Thankfully the girl thay was there, forgot her name, was so patient with me. I took 30 to 45 min to pick out a frame and she did most of the picking. She knew what fit the face and what didnt. She ws very kind and helpful and when another customer asked for help and she was able to multi task efficiently. Now when the bill came she was able to explain how the insurance worked and what was covered. I was extremely happy with the service. Will go back again. read more

This is my 1st time doing an eye exam here in US and i have trust issues with new people. But having it with them is really a great experience. I love how thorough dr. Chen have done and explained every examination. Choices and recommendation she said and whats the purpose of this and that in a manner that you can really understand. The staffs are all very accomodating, they answer all your questions and doesnt pressure you to do add ons or anything. They are all very friendly on phone and in person. Came here for a follow-up and referred my family to come here as well. The service is very friendly and open to walk ins if time is available. The eye exam you get here is very extensive and informative. The exam is quick and soon after you are seated with an optometrist. The vision exam continues and you wear that crazy magnification fave mask. The frame selection here is crazy huge! They have all the major brands and even more affordable generics. They have every single type of glass configuration and additional add on available to order. I placed my order and recieved my glasses within 8 days. Location has plenty of parking available although I will warn that the plaza is always busy. The plaza is filled with Asian stores and a huge marketplace. These guys are hands-down awesome. Finally had some vision care coverage, so decided that it was time for an eye exam...long overdue. They were very professional. I filled in my info and I was immediately brought back to get my eyes checked. Dr. Ho was very good about explaining her findings and answering questions. It was definitely a much different experience from those I've had in the past with other optometrists. Bottom line: if you need your eyes checked, this is the place to hit up. I already had a Rx for glasses so this review is just for the glasses portion and not the doctors office. They have a WIDE variety and I felt that our consultant was patient and listened to what we were looking for for a pair of glasses - she was very efficient and made suggestions (which was VERY helpful because there really is a LARGE variety). Working with our insurance was a breeze and our glasses were ready in about 10 days. Pick up was convenient - be sure to pick up your own glasses so they can make minor adjustments - She bend mine for me so it would hug my ear a bit more. read more

Came back here this year to get my contact prescription updated and had the best experience. Dr. Richard Ly, O.D. will definitely be my preferred optometrist from now on. He's super patient, informative, and listens to all the problems I've encountered with my eyesight. Although he does make recommendations for what kind of contacts you should try depending on your situation, he always goes with what feels most comfortable for his patients. I just went to Precision Vision Optometry to get my eyes checked, and I had an absolutely pleasant experience. I came late, which ran into the doctor's lunch time, but she took me in anyway. I did not feel rushed at all; I felt like she really took the time to know me and understand my concerns as a patient. The eye exam was also extremely comprehensive, more so than others, which I appreciated. She was able to educate me about the health of my eye, which other places didn't really address, and tell me how to fix it. I got a glasses + contact exam, which came out to be around $79--not bad at all! The staff in the front were also very friendly and helpful! I went here for my yearly eye exam. I chose Precision Vision for their good reviews. For my appointment, first an assistant used these machines to do various eye tests, and then I saw the optometrist, I think his name was Dr. Chen. He was really friendly and patient, especially since I like to ask a lot of questions. They had a machine that took a photo of the back of my eyeball, and I asked him if I could see the photo, and he showed me! It was really awesome to see the back of my own eye and he explained what various things were in the photo. He also went over with me how to prevent various eye diseases. After I got my prescription, I was led to an assistant, who shyly withheld my prescription until I payed my copay. Not a problem, I just thought it was funny because I only owed ten bucks. At home, I looked at my prescription and noticed it was different from my previous one, I went from minus to plus, so I asked to make another appointment to get rechecked. They rescheduled without much complaint, but I didn't appreciate how I was treated by the assistant when I went back. She treated me like I was stupid, basically saying there is no way that they are wrong. I just needed an explanation or confirmation that this was my new prescription, because if I had to invest in new glasses with a wrong prescription, that is a lot of money that went to waste. The assistant asked me why I think my prescription may have been wrong, and I cited that it was different from my previous one and also it could be that the doctor I saw was talking to me as he was typing in my prescription. I was not trying to say that he was too distracted to correctly input my information, I was only saying that I understood that mistakes may happen if you are distracted, as I work as a teaching assistant and I have made a mistake inputting grades. She looked at me and laughed and scoffed! I asked why she laughed, because nothing I said was funny, and she definitely laughed at me. She said that the doctor was just talking to me to make me comfortable and could not have made a mistake. I didn't like the way she treated me at all, and when she put me in the exam room I could here her chatting with the doctor, probably warning her about me. After a while Dr. Imamoto came in. I could feel that she was being cold towards me. I thought it could only get worse from here, especially after dealing with the awful assistant. But after chatting with Dr. Imamoto, I think she warmed up to me and loosened up and was friendlier. She checked my eyes, and did different tests than when I first came in to check that the prescription I received at my previous visit was correct. I really appreciated that she did that. After the exam I ordered prescription sunglasses. The assistant helping me, not the same awful one earlier, was a lot friendlier and hospitable. Despite my bad experience dealing with the awful assistant, I will probably come back here next year for the friendly doctors. read more

Called to schedule and appointment for an eye exam to update my prescription.. I only needed to reorder contact lenses. They verified my insurance (VSP) and informed me that my copay for an eye exam would be $10 and contact lens fitting would be $45. This was no surprise to me as it was what I was usually charged. Came in 10 minutes early, checked-in with no other patients waiting. Waited for 30 minutes to finally be seen. Wasn't a big deal for me.. Did the standard tests prior to seeing the doc.. then, waited for the doc to see me. Completed the eye exam & she told me that my acuity wasn't 100% due to dry eyes. Then proceeded to give me a prescription for antibiotic eyedrops after telling me that I didn't have an infection (what??). They then told me that I had to come back NEXT week when my eyes weren't as dry so that they could update my vision prescription. They then tried to bill me $50 for a office visit (what??) because I didn't have MEDICAL insurance on-hand. I told them that they verified my insurance prior to coming in & told me that it would only be $10.. this is when they told me that the doc performed an office visit (whatt?!?). I even told them that I would call in my medical insurance information to cover the cost. All they said was "you need to pay now". I told them I did not agree to an 'office visit' and that my vision insurance covers the eye exam I came in for. I requested to know what condition I was being treated for that required antibiotic eye drops. Office aid said 'dry eyes' (what?!?). Thus I refused to pay & all they said was that I would have to go to my primary care physician to treat my 'dry eyes' before coming in for an eye exam. Been coming here for 10 yrs now & all I can say is something has definitely changed about this place. It's about time to find a new optometrist because the quality of care and customer service has his an all time low. (Except for the optician that was performing the tests prior to the exam). read more

I've been coming here for several years after switching from my previous optometrist who seemed to overcharge. Not sure why but I always ended up paying at least $300 with my previous optometrist every time I went in for an eye exam. And that was with VSP insurance. At Precision the amount has been consistent based on my insurance plan and none of the optometrists tried to upsell me or ask me to do unnecessary tests or procedures. There are several optometrists here and I think I've seen pretty much all of them. Most of them have been very helpful but I really like Doctor Chen. He's very reassuring and is great at keeping you calm even if he has to break a bad news. I'm about as blind as a bat in my left eye but he still gave me hope. He provided some helpful tips and exercises to help strengthen my left eye and gave some insight on what might have caused this. Most of the stuff I already knew because my vision has been bad since I was little but it's good to know he's providing the correct information. Dr. Chen is also the first optometrist here who didn't seem to push a certain brand of contact lens. I got that impression from some of the other optometrists here. The place is really clean and also has great selection of brand name frames. The hours are convenient and haven't had any issues making an appointment. It's located in the same shopping center as 99 Ranch Market, right next to Daiso. read more

Back in May 2018, I got lenses for my back up glasses at the store. In December 2019, when my regular glasses broke and I'm in need of my back up. Upon taking the glasses out, the coating on both lens were damaged and have lots of speckles on it. The store admitted that it is an issue with manufacturing, but refused to take responsibility because of their 1 year warranty policy. The policy was not listed anywhere on the documents I received for the lenses (receipts, etc.) The manager's attitude is also really bad, threatening to call the security on customers. Would not recommend anyone visiting the Precision Vision Optometry!!! read more

I had my eyes checked for the first time in 4 years. This place was highly recommended so I called Friday morning and was able to get an appointment later that day at 1pm. The doctors were just coming back from lunch so I kind of expected to have a slightly longer wait. The assistants then proceeded to do the preliminary tests. Overall very helpful. Dr. Chen was very nice too. They also have a good selection of frames that you can choose from and they will assist you with selecting a pair if needed. read more

Legit service. Fast turn-around. And close to my house. It really doesn't get any better than this. For those with lackluster cultural radars, this business is located in a diversely Chinese/Pan-Asian plaza. So you're driving into the 99 Ranch Plaza and thinking "damn, this is soooo traditional Asian". But as you walk into PV, to your surprise, it's quite mod. And the staff is bilingual, but mostly speak in English. +1 I had an eye exam here and it wasn't like any other eye exam. No joke. You're not told to wait in a small 20ftx20ft room stacked with heavy optical machinery. Instead, the eye exam is done in an assembly-line fashion...it's hard to describe but just picture that you're going from station to station down a long table for different parts of the exam. The best part: Follow-up service! I've walked in many times to ask the staff to adjust or tighten my frames. And they always do it for free.. and with a smile :] read more

Last year I needed to get contacts and glasses, so came to good old Yelp to check out if there was an optometrist near me with high ratings. Found PVO and gave them a try. I didn't know I had a different vision insurance so I actually had gone to Kaiser and gotten an exam. I came in with my Kaiser prescription and did not get an exam at PVO. But never the less the Optometrist was very friendly. Yes I got a Yelp discount and yes the staff was attentive and friendly as well. BUT I have to give them a low rating because I was promised a rebate for getting Accuvue Oasys and I have yet to receive it. I got home w/ my contacts and of course completely satisfied that they were so nice and were going out of their way to save me some more dough. About 3 months later I found the receipt and gave them a call letting them know I had not received anything in the mail. Someone told me they would look into it. I just came upon the receipt again and realized that I never wrote a review. So there you go instead of calling to complaint again (figured it was not a good idea since it's been over a year since my visit!!) I decided to Yelp about it :P I need a new eye exam and contacts so I'll start searching for someone new, maybe this time I'll just ask for a prescription and head to Costco for contacts. read more

I came here a while back and I had a great experience. Candy and Teresa, the girls at the front desk we're really helpful. The doctors are very good and very knowledgeable. I asked for special frames that they didn't carry and they didn't have at the store and they handled it without any issue. Very fast delivery and I get so many compliments on them! I usually buy new frames every year and they always find a way to accommodate my needs as well as my mother who frequents the shop as well. I tend to be a little bit on the picky side and I like to try out new lens ar coatings and they have easily switched out the lens' without any of the problems other shops have given me in the past. Ultimately I feel like my satisfaction comes first when I visit this place and I really do appreciate that and it's what keeps me coming back year after year. read more
