I definitely recommend Vision Performance for all your optical needs. I have been a patient of Dr. Sharieff for the last 4 years and she is the best optometrist I've ever had. Though I no longer live close to her office, I will make the 2 hour drive every year. Before I met Dr Sharieff, I had a hard time finding an optometrist to provide me the "right" prescription. Most of the prescriptions I received left me blurry vision but she gets it right. She's very thorough and dials down your prescription twice, once at the beginning and then at the end just to make sure she gets it right. After lens replacements, "cataract surgery," my neural adaption to the new lenses created many challenges. Even though the surgery went perfectly, and my vision was technically better than perfect at 20/15, my brain had difficulty "working with" the new clarity and contrast of the lenses. I suffered from flickering or shimmering in my peripheral vision, unwanted rapid eye movement and a sense that my vision was not my own--like everything seemed to be showing up in my mind as if through a camera. None of the ophthalmologist I was working with knew what to do. They kept telling me I would "get over it." But after searching with ChatGPT, I learned that patients like me with extremely highly developed visual acuity and visual processing skills, will suffer from far more difficult and protracted adaption phases. We are in the small minority, but nonetheless a well documented medical subset who need special help, guidance and care. I found this clinic and the superb Doctor who runs it, who has begun treatment (aka rehab) and I'm expecting excellent results based on what I've seen thus far. Objectively and subjectively, a poorly managed practice by "Dr. Kauser Sharieff" who dilates eyes then tells patients its ok to drive immediately after. Her employees tell me they're quitting. Her vision therapist who treated me quit solely because of her, she cycles through new trainees. She is a poor communicator more concerned with taking your money and leaving you in the dark then treating your health 0/10 practice, DO NOT Recommend That i would like to be able to commend, but is horribly ran to the point where her employees dislike her strongly. The eye exam was good but the overall experience just wasn't. Very driven by making more sales and when the doctor realized I wanted to purchase eyewear somewhere else she stopped responding to me. I didn't feel supported as a patient, especially since I'm new to the glasses world. Better off going to Target, which is what I did, and had a much better experience. I was also pressured into things I wasn't even there for, and wasn't told I'd be charged for. I don't want contacts and told her so after our appointment, but she never refunded me. I went to Dr. Sheriff at her Yorba Linda office on 12/1/2023 for an eye exam. Here is a copy or the text I sent to her office on 12/05. She didn't reply or refund per my request, just didn't confirm my follow up visit for today, 12/08. ***** Dr. Sheriff, After my scarry ride home, I waited for the dilation drops to wear off that you claimed were causing my blurred vision. The closed caption on the TV, clocks on the wall, etc. were still out of focus the next day. Fearing driving again in that condition, I put my original contacts back in. My vision returned. I could see everything clearly. Thinking back, your eye test was more like a guessing game with me getting multiple attempts to figure out the blurred letters. You came up with a prescription one full point off my original and convinced me I needed to pay you an additional fitting fee. It is obvious to me now that it was not needed. Regardless of it was faulty equipment or deliberate, I request a refund of the fitting fee. ***** I am so disappointed that I was treated this way. I would not recommend Dr. Sheiff to anyone and will be filling out the survey for my insurance accordingly. read more

I had received info regarding Brillen.com and decided to make an appointment with this particular office being close to my residence. This office is beyond disrepair. There are sloppy handwritten notes on the door and the patient's waiting room is unbecoming at best. It's hard to determine if they are just moving in or moving out sine it's so disorganized. The clerk/receptionist at the desk was too busy trying to get herself a Dr's appointment (reddish hair) She advises her co-clerk..I believe her name was Grace, that's she's leaving. She then says 'oh, you're a Brillen patient..great,' with such sarcasm that I tell her not anymore I am and I'll let Brillen.com know why. I truly feel sorry for patients that are assigned to this optometrist. Run as fast as you can...this place is beyond a hot mess. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. After reading the other negative reviews I see a pattern. I am not the only one who has experienced Dr. Sharieffs rude, dismissive, disrespect, completely unprofessional personality. She is consistently late, leaves you sitting and waiting forever, and performs medical tests that you don't need and didn't ask for, and then charges you for them! Near the end of my 2-HOUR EYE EXAM she says she has one more test for me. She tells me after the test that it's for dry eye and that she has a new laser machine to help treat dry eye. I never complained of dry eye symptoms! I later saw the charge for $99 on my bill for this test. She is ALWAYS looking for the upsell and that's not even the worst of it. I went to her for years because she is a specialist who is close to where I live. I felt I had invested so much time (literally with all of those 2 hour visits) that I stuck with her. For my condition she recommended that I do eye therapy there at her office. This is a long and expensive process of many visits over a long time. After a particularly long eye exam visit I came home complaining about the Dr and my husband said why don't you go see a specialist at UCI. They are supposed to be the best. I did that and discovered that the therapy Dr Sharieff recommend for me doesn't even work for my condition and that I was eiligble for surgery to correct my condition. Dr. Sharieff never told me that surgery was even and option! Probably because she wanted to keep me coming to therapy forever. I will never go back to her and wouldn't send anyone I care about to her. I cannot believe she is still in business read more

1. Waited 45 mins for my little sister's exam. Got there a couple minutes before 6PM appt time, provided new patient forms to her optician/admin, she verified eligibility, and then we waited....until 6:45 (ish). Look I get it you're one doctor to many patients and you're trying to get you buck. I'm not asking for a damn foot massage or real time waiting periods, but for god's sake be up front with your patient. idk maybe say "Hi I'm so sorry for the wait. I'll be with you in xx minutes." Don't waste our time. 2. She used her bare hands to open my sisters eyes. Didn't see this woman once wash her hands let alone wipe down her equipment. Last I checked we're in a pandemic, and you're a medical professional. Lol really Doc? 3. She dilated my sister's eyes. Why didn't you tell us her eyes were going to get dilated? That's what really pissed me off. Be transparent. I was very close to having my sister drive herself there because I was busy with work. I'm going to make a quick visit to her office tomorrow and request the forms we signed. If I blindly signed somewhere that she would get her eyes dilatated, yup that's my fault and I'm an idiot. 4. Another thing I found odd.....she did one final exam in a room with my sister, came out with the prescription written down on a regular sheet of paper, signed the prescription pad, and then told her admin/optician to write it down for her. And then walked away. Didn't come back to check it. Final thoughts? Probably not best to come here for your routine eye exam. My son is 2.5 years old, with an eye turn, we have seen countless doctors and Dr Shareiff is the ONLY one who has been able to help us with a plan other than "just stick glasses on your 2 year old" we are a holistic family that doesn't believe that glasses are a bandaid, it's a quick fix and not getting to the actual healing of our sons eye... these other reviews sadden me bc she has help put together a vision therapy plan specifically for our son that alters the traditional vision therapy since he's so young and every time we show up to vision therapy the staff there really try to make it work for a toddler ( which I think is very admirable!!) we have been to plenty of fancy offices that have not heard our voice and listened to us as parents, but Dr Shareiff heard us out and I think that speaks volumes. We are still working with her staff on the vision therapy side and they are extremely accommodating(it's been a few months now of appointments) great things take time not a quick fix. read more

Staff is very greedy. The front desk woman would not give me my prescription after the initial visit. I'm sure this was from the direction of her employer / the optometrist. She wanted me to go back and purchase ADDITIONAL contacts and glasses from them after I told them no since I already got one pair that was covered by my insurance. Now, I know that it is illegal for them to hold onto it and they are required by law to provide your prescription immediately after completing your check up. I had to schedule another trip to go pick up my prescription. Make sure to get your prescription after a check up because they will hold it hostage until you buy from them. I was seeking vision therapy for my daughter and googled places near my home and happened upon this office. After being told the initial consultation was free, we scheduled our appointment. Upon arrival, the consultation was free; however, they wanted to perform the first actual vision assessment which they quoted me $300. I felt pressured to go ahead with the vision assessment since I was already there and ultimately wanted to pursue vision therapy nontheless. The doctor performed a few tests of which some of the equipment didn't seem to be working properly. The office was a hot mess and the staff as well as the doctor seemed very disorganized. After our appointment was done, I was told they would contact me to set up future therapy visits. No one contacted me and I was honestly thankful they didn't. Red flags were going off in my mind the whole time were there. Our first and only visit was in February 2023. I waited months for the office to process my insurance payment to see if I still owed any more additional beyond the $300 or if they owed me. I called multiple times and finally demanded my full $300 back since we did not receive any benefit from their "test" they performed and had not seen an EOB come through from my insurance. After multiple emails and phone calls, they finally submitted my visit to my insurance company only to find out my out-of-pocket was only $70 not the original $300 I paid. They finally sent me a refund for the difference of $229 in July 2023 but never did send me the full amount of $300 like I requested. They probably would have kept my full $300 if I did not complain. read more

I appreciated receiving a nice, thorough vision exam here with Dr. Sharieff after experiences with optometries that rush you in and out to dish out a quick prescription. I ended up getting one pair of glasses from the selection displayed in the office; and got lenses installed in a pair I bought online. The vision exam for my contact lenses was also smooth and easy. Overall, my vision has been consistent since my visit. Lori and Adrian at the front desk were especially helpful in providing the documentation I needed for my workplace. read more

Dr. Kauser Sharieff was very helpful in helping me getting my eyes checked. When I couldn't get my contact lens on she helped in less then a second they where ready , she let me know the prices ahead of time and didn't pressure me into anything that wasn't necessary , if you need a place to check your eyes that's reliable i would come here without a doubt, it feels really good to be able to see again.
