I came here for a repair because the screw of my glasses came out. The office is nice and has a nice waiting area. I came without an appointment but they were able to see me within 5-10 minutes of waiting. The front desk staff was very friendly. The optometrist was very friendly too. I've been going to Woodbridge for annual check-ups, exams, and the occasional eye problem for at least 15 years. Every single person, from reception to assistants and doctors, and finally the staff who help select and adjust eyewear, demonstrates a focus on exceptional customer service. Everyone is super helpful and the selection of glasses is great, plus they carry the exceptional Maui Jim line onsite (regular and prescription available). I wish the lead time on some options, like the SALT frames, were better, but I understand that's out of their control. Dr. Wald was extremely informative and told me everything I need to know about styes, dry eye, and the treatment, as well as migraines. My migraines unfortunately are something that need a neurologist to address but she did tell me what the appropriate treatment would be and explained why I'm seeing halos. I also got a Rx for my stye which ended up being a pain but they saw it through. They went above and beyond which was what my first impression was. Thankfully my gut was right. I live in the area and I see their building all the time. So when it was time to get my contacts renewed, I decided to give it a shot. Nice building, polished service - but in the end I somehow walked out with contact lenses that were extremely overpriced, by hundreds of dollars. It was nearly impossible to turn down the purchase by the time I had all of the eye exams done by them first, and I do have to agree with some of the comments that they are really good at smooth-talking you into buying lots of things. They promised me that I would get some "manufacturer rebates" which I applied for, and of course, didn't work. There are way more affordable options out there that will give you exactly the same products. After my very costly experience there, I never went back, and been happy since. read more

I can't recommend Dr. Raazia enough! She's super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about overall eye health. I've already recommended her to both my wife and my mother-in-law. Dr. Kamo and his team are amazing! My first visit here was actually an emergency a stye, and Dr. Kamo took such great care of me. Almost a year later, I came back for my full eye exam, and I'm so glad I did! Evelyn (who did my workup) was incredible--she explained every machine, what we were doing, and why things like the retinal screening are important. I felt so comfortable and informed the entire time. Dr. Kamo has such a kind and professional bedside manner, and this was hands down the most thorough eye exam I've ever had. I went in to get a pair of glasses, but was told that a retinal photo or eye dilation was required just to proceed with a vision exam. They claimed it was "California law," which I've been wearing glasses for many many years and have never heard of at any optometrist's office. I later confirmed it's not a legal requirement but likely just their office policy, presented as law. I walked out. It's frustrating when professionals misrepresent policy as law to pressure patients into unnecessary procedures. I almost fell for it simply because it was said so confidently. They strike me as incredibly elegant and clever scammers--polished, professional, and persuasive. I was also surprised by the number of positive reviews, but after looking more closely, it's clear they invest heavily in advertising. That explains a lot. read more

The doctor was thorough and efficient with the eye exam and providing recommendations for me regarding dry eyes and my prescription. Back with another yearly checkup and this experience had no complaints. When I arrived to check in, they were transparent about the changes to my insurance coverage and how that would impact my visit. It was very appreciated! I was planning on getting both glasses and contact lenses, so having that knowledge allowed me to select the larger discount to apply toward my purchase. The rest of the visit was pretty much smooth sailing. I met with Dr Schramm this time around. He's very knowledgeable and provided a very well-rounded experience to ensure the health of my eyes was in prime condition. His explanations were easily understood and he was patient with me while we worked on finding the right correction for my lenses. When selecting a new frame, I wanted something lighter and more rectangular shaped, which was the opposite of what I currently had. I can't recall his name, but I believe he's the only guy in the glasses section. He provided several options based on my preferences and my choice was settled in as little as 10-15 minutes. It took about 1-2 weeks for my glasses to come in. Scheduled an appointment to pick up and fitting consultation. It took no more than 15 minutes! They adjusted the nose pads and the hinge to securely fit on my ears. Overall, fantastic visit! read more

Upsold me and scammed me. I went here for four years for annual checkups. I have had LASIK done, and have 20/20 vision, so I don't need glasses, but the office always tried to upsell me on blue-light blocking computer glasses with no prescription. I finally relented, and when my computer glasses arrived, they had a prescription in the lenses, which gave me an immediate headache. I returned the glasses and asked for non-prescription lenses, as I had from the outset, and the office acted like I was in the wrong. They eventually "replaced" the lenses...with a weaker (but still incorrect) prescription. The glasses are unwearable for me, and after three trips, I gave up. They have my money and my insurance reimbursement. I have a worthless pair of glasses. Needless to say, I feel ripped off, and I'll never go back. read more

We have been customers of this office for many years. They used to have great doctors but many of them left. But every year we pretty much got a new doctor for our annual eye checkup. This year, a young doctor did the annual checkup and she said clearly everything is fine. But after a few days, she suddenly found something wrong and asked us to come back for another exam. We assumed this is an extension of the annual check-up and came back. After the exam, she said everything is fine AGAIN and charged us over $120 in addition to the $60 co-pay we paid for the annual checkup. We paid. There is no other information shared about additional payment. However, after 4 months, we received another bill from the office asking for another $100. When we called the office to ask why - the staff basically said "the doctor has left the office, but she told you everything according to the notes, and you must not understand". Wow, what an attitude! This staff must feel because our accent is not perfect, we must be stupid as well. The doctor is not sharing payment information transparently and left us a big surprise. It also seems that the doctor is incompetent, either why didn't find anything wrong during the exam and need to wait a few days to order another exam? And why after the 2nd exam, everything is actually all right? I am not surprised to see this office having so many negative reviews recently - will never come back anymore read more

After 10 years I've stopped using them. They have become an absolute nightmare to work with. They definitely need to train their people batter. I got so much wrong information that ended up requiring multiple trips to fix. Their covid policies are completely asinine. Though it has been proven masks have little to no effect on Covid they still require them 3 years later. Apparently you can only get Covid standing up, you can take your mask off while sitting down at station but the second you stand up you must put it back on. Not real pleased with my first impression. They quoted me $160 for an eye exam and when I arrived they told me it would be an Extra $220 for a contact lens check. They knew I wore contact lenses when I made the appointment. Then while doing the eye exam they said to do a retinal scan was an extra $45?? After they got my glasses prescription I told them I would check with my husband and call back with the go ahead. I called back and left a message with the receptionist to go ahead. They would not proceed until they had full payment. It made me feel like they are more money oriented than patient oriented. Maybe I just need a smaller office that has more personalized service. read more

So you gave me the weekend to respond, just because I did not choose to respond yet does not make it untrue. In the future, please reach out to ask which types of email forms did I encounter, etc to perhaps help solve the problem. Let me start off by saying that the lady that squeezed me in for a last minute evening appointment was nice over the phone. The optometrist herself was also nice and professional. However I still do not feel comfortable returning to this place much less bringing my kids here. At check in I felt like I was entering a high pressure used car dealership. Upselling right off the bat. I gave them my info over the phone to access my vision insurance but when I arrived they asked for my medical insurance also. Stating it's for my convenience in case it's needed in the future. I don't know why I allowed myself to be compelled to give them that information. I am just hoping I don't get any other surprise billing. My main concern is with the lady who was doing all my preliminary test prior to my being seen by the optometrist. She was chewing gum the whole time under her mask. It looked like she was new or in training. In front of everyone she was friendly but in the office she was short to the point of being rude and definitely disinterested. You can feel she could care less about you. Just going thru the motion. I was taken aback by her abruptness but resigned myself to it and didn't call her out . The worst part was when I was doing the retina scan. She just kept using her hand to push my head against the machine like I was a child. Seriously is that even protocol? Have seen many of the original optometrists like Dr. Likens and Toki (spelling?) and have never had any problems or complaints. Scheduling is easy and accommodating, staff is friendly and the doctors always helpful with the services provided. I had an exam today with Dr. Yang and to order contacts and the same sentiment applies. Great doctor and the whole process straightforward from beginning to end.
