This place seems very expensive. I was at Costco which our insurance only partially covers and does not cover for eye check up costs. But the typical frame here costs $200+ and overall if you want two glasses its going to be upwards of $1K+ vs a Costco at 1/2 the price. I just dont get with all the reviews. We are employees of a trillion market value firm and they provide us good insurance still. But this seems very expensive to go through. Saving my time. read more

They were amazing! The receptionist and two opticians were awesome. They were very nice, excellent expertise, and super helpful with finding and selecting products. They replaced my newer lenses into my older frames so I could function and cleaned the what had accumulated between the legs and frame. I have had trouble finding what would work for me before. They had a great selection of eyewear and did an excellent job of picking out several frames that would work for me. They discounted the designer Zeis lenses to better than what I had been quoted and also discounted the frames I wanted which they helped me find And they gave me free eyeglass cleaning wipes and spray to help me keep my lenses clean and not scratched. I've been visiting FLOE for the last 6 years. They have always been my preferred optometry. The doctors are all great and really work to personalize your experience to make sure any of your concerns are taken care of. That being said, there was damage done to the building back in August 2023 and they have been impossible to reach since. I've set up two appointments since then, and they never contacted me either time about not being able to take appointments. I tried for the days leading up to the appointment to get confirmation that I would be able to see someone because I'm running low on my annual supply of contacts, but no response from any number I could find - even the one posted on their door. I'm sure once they get their location fixed up and everything is repaired, they'll be great again, but after being ghosted twice, I had to move on. Great initial 6 years, but not worth the drive out from Riverside to Irvine anymore after getting no confirmation from the team. read more

FLOE had me hooked, lined, and sinker on needing all these additional upgrades for my glasses, which was not necessary was my prescription is very low. I only visited them because my ophthalmologist was not accepting my new insurance for glasses and eye check ups. Now with my new insurance, I'm going back to my ophthalmologist, who told me the upgrades were not necessary for my eye prescription. read more

I am a new patient who scheduled an appointment about a month in advance because I cannot take leave from my work easily. Appointment set on March 6th. March 5th, I get an email to confirm my appointment...stoked! I am getting new glasses so I can see! Show up at the office only to find out that they are closed on Wednesdays (March 6th was a Wednesday). Maybe something happened and they were forced to close on Wednesdays recently? If so, why send me a confirmation email March 5th? I did not get any emails or a call saying that they are closed on Wednesdays and they need to reschedule me. To add insult to injury, I get an email on March 7th saying it was great seeing me and that they want me to review my experience. Here is your review...don't jerk around busy people with busy schedules. I am not sure what kind of Mickey Mouse operations they run here but I do not like to have my time wasted. First Liz tried to up-sale then once we paid over $600 for our glasses, they didn't fit right, the staff refused to make it right especially Noey. (Not sure about the spelling). She made us come back with an appointment to see our original optician even though we were originally told we didn't need to make the appointment. They refused to have the optician who's currently working to help resolve the problem. We asked to see the optometrist Carla Chiu, Noey refused to let us see her. We had to demand to see the optician today which was very unnecessary for us to do. The optician who helped us today was helpful. Very disappointed with the rest of the staff who are like bunch of used cars salesmen. You need grownups who understand customer service to run your front office. read more

I haven't been the best about having my vision checked since I had LASIK. This was my second time visiting Dr. Wong and as usual he and his staff are awesome. I believe I was the only patient in the office during my visit and I appreciate that they are taking Covid seriously and not operating at full capacity. Now that I'm in my 30s I have concerns about my vision going forward and Dr. Wong was really helpful about ways to maintain healthy eyes. It was a pretty straight forward exam, I was in and out in about 1 hour after browsing the frames for a bit afterward. Always a pleasure seeing Dr. Wong. THANK YOU, LIZ! A MILLION TIMES THANK YOU! Never again will I make the mistake of "going elsewhere" out of convenience. I visited another optometrist office and during my appointment I asked to get my existing frames adjusted. The gal who helped me broke the right arm of my arms. The screw broke or something... I was totally bummed and not happy because I do not have a back-up pair and need my glasses for everything. The gal told me there was nothing she could do except tape it up and go back to my original optometrist. SOOO, quick call to FLOE and luckily, they allowed me to drop in without an appointment. I sped over and told Liz what happened. Unfortunately, my existing frames were discontinued so Liz handed me some alternatives. Would you believe that one pair she handed me by the same brand happened to be an exact fit for my existing lenses. WHHHAAAAT?!?!? I was more than ecstatic and so thankful! Liz then recommended me to a jeweler that may be able to fix my broken frames. I will never again steer away from FLOE. Always top notch customer service, amazing staff and just the best! I ended up finding this Optometry office on a whim due to an emergency. My eye was freaking out from the evening before and my usual eye doctor was still closed. It was my eyes and I definitely didn't want to wait any longer so my gf took me here. They were able to take me in last minute within the hour or so and I couldn't be anymore thankful. The receptionist(I think it was Daisy) I spoke to on the phone was so sweet, understanding and was able to get all my info to schedule the appointment. The office is located in the same medical plaza as Kaiser, which just so happens to be my branch. Parking can get busy, but not too crazy. We walked in and it was quiet, the front desk addressed me right away. Office space is small and quaint, typical optometry office with a selection of glasses on the other side of the room. The wait was 5 minutes max if that. I was seen by Dr. Chiu and she was amazing! Upbeat personality and very professional. She knew exactly what she was talking about and made me feel better about my eye issue 100%. She took a thorough look at my eye twice and we were able to figure out just exactly what caused it. She's super smart and I felt in good hands. She talked me through everything and answered all of my questions. The whole staffs seems to be very knowledgable. I didn't have insurance, but they were still able to see me at a decent price, which includes a follow up appointment. They don't accept AMEX, but that's not an issue for most people. I was prescribed specific eye drops, so I picked those up at Walmart. It's already been 24 hours and my eye is almost back to normal. I will be seeing them this Friday for the follow-up and I'm looking forward to hearing good things. I was suffering from eye contact fatigue and Dr. Wong prescribed miracle eye drops and then spent three sessions with me attempting to find the right eye contact that would let my eye breathe. He is not just an optometrist---he is an artist. COVID safety practices are in place, the staff are extremely nice, and Dr. Wong himself is personable, professional, and extremely patient. I had been using another optometrist for over 8 years but after a glasses fiasco, I decided to look around for another optometrist in the irvine area. Since I work during the days and have two kids, I needed to find one open in the morning on Saturdays. Luckily, FLOE was open at 8. During my visit, they were attentive and professional. Meaghan showed me the large selection of glasses and the breakdown of the prices for the glasses. I needed wider frames and she found the right ones for me. The style I wanted was not in stock, so we worked through email to find the ones I liked. The only issue was a delay in preparing the lenses. It came back without transitions. FLOE provided a courtesy discount on the glasses upon pickup. Meaghan and the team was very quick to respond via email and provided all the documentation requested digitally. Been coming here for several years since this was still For Eyes and when Dr. Cho was still seeing patients on a day-to-day basis, and now I drive over 2 hours to see Dr. Chiu for my eyecare appointments. I also referred others here and they really like Dr. Chiu as well. Even though the doctors are great, the office staff seriously needs to have a better communication system in place with patients. Numerous times they would tell me "we will let you know when there is an update from the lab/your glasses are ready, but every time it turns out that I have to call in and ask for details. In fact, when I got new lenses this year, I had to call multiple times in a single week, one of which they flat out hung up on me, just for them to tell me my glasses should be here by Friday for pickup on Saturday. Thus, I schedule my weekend around driving to Irvine to pick them up, and I end having to call them Friday to ask for an update, only to be told that they don't have an update and need to reach out to the lab (again). They simply should have reached out to the lab again earlier, and not have to wait for my call to tell them in order to do their job. I wonder when they were going to let me know that my glasses weren't ready yet if I hadn't called... Based on the lack of effort put in by the staff, I may just need to find a new optometrist. read more

Man what a hassle it was to deal with this place . 1) I believe in safety , but they take covid to a whole new level. You have to text them when you arrive , wait in the car and then they let you in . I get temperature checks, mask wearing and washing hands, but Jerez. 2) Horrible frame selection . They informed me that is because they carry more "high end" frames. Lol girl please . Wear is the Prada , Bvulgari, Coach, Versace. I'm not a snob, but it was hard for me to find a pair of frames that I thought were decent. I would go to a place with a bigger selection next time. 3) After going to this office multiple times , I need to go back again once my glasses come in (2.5 weeks ).
