I wanted to share my experience with Dr Alan Chu. I've had many optometrist in the past but he was the most thorough one I've ever had. Not only was I relieved to know my prescription hasn't changed, but he also took his time to explain to me how the eye works in detail. He explained why my eyes were healthy by showing me a picture of my eye. He also answered all my questions patiently, including answer to a question no other optometrist has been able to answer before. I was amazed how knowledgeable he was. On top of that he was personable and easy to talk to. I cannot recommend him enough. You won't be disappointed. I will be bringing my family to see him soon. They have large numbers of Asian American staffs who cater to Asian clientele but also have many different products that are attractive to all other ethnic groups! I have been doing business for my lenses with Golden Optometry since several years. Unfortunately, after Mimi, the Manager left, their service has deteriorated. The staff makes one wait for40-45 minutes before attending. Their attitude is not customer friendly and borders on insolence. The Manager is not present at the store when needed. We went to the optometry for urgent help. Lack of info, they reached out to our prior optometry, gathered all the info, placed the order for contact lens for us, and delivered the lens to us in 4 days. After that we had several orders of lens replacements. The office offered awesome support to deliver the high-quality lenses to us as quickly as possible. A few times, when we ran late at the weekend, they even offered extra support by waiting for us and delivered the prescription to us. We feel obsessed by being a patient of this optometry. Love it! I recently returned to redo my progressive lenses because the ones I had didn't feel right. Phoebe & Mimi helped me. The ladies are very cordial & understanding. It took two tries this time, progressive wear is challenging, but during the process they put me at ease and assured that it'll work this time. Very excellent customer service. My glasses were not fitting right and Mimi the office manager took the time to help adjust my glasses making them fit perfectly. I also have a more narrowed face and Mimi suggested that we bring the temples in a little more on my glasses for them to match my face better and feel more comfortable. Overall a great experience, and they have a lot of nice selections of modern, higher end glasses. I normally go to the Golden Optometry (高登) in Rowland heights, but live in Irvine. I was pleasantly surprised that they opened a location in Irvine and isn't as crowded as the Rowland location. It's located right next to Four Seas Restaurant in the corner of the shopping center. It's not as big as their Rowland Heights location, but the staff was nice and everything was clean. There is a good amount of frames selection, but less with contacts if you're looking to try different brands or colors. They would have to order it for you and you'd have to come back to try it out. Cash price of the contacts is a bit higher than what you can get elsewhere, but the grand opening special offset the difference so it was still reasonable for me to get my Acuvue's here. M Also I spent minimal time waiting so that's always a plus with two kids waiting for me. read more

Yelp reviews did not disappoint! Materials purchase only- Alicia was very helpful on the phone before I brought my son for replacement glasses. She was very patient with him in person. He picked out $300 frames but our insurance allowance is $130. After I explained that he already lost one pair of glasses this year, she steered him to $130 frames and notated that I should add transitions because they were covered 100% for children on my insurance. Glasses arrived earlier than expected and they adjusted the arms to fit snugly on his head. I've been to three other optometrists in the area over the years and didn't really care to return to any of them again. I will be going back to Golden. read more
