I've been going to District Eye Care and seeing Dr. Lieu for about 10 years, and every visit has been an excellent experience. The entire team is knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional, and they never make you feel rushed. Dr. Lieu is incredibly patient and thorough, always taking the time to answer my questions and ensure I fully understand my vision needs. They also offer a great selection of frames, and the quality of the glasses and lenses they produce is exceptional. Before coming here, I used to go to a large wholesale retailer that offered very competitive prices. However, the glasses I received there never quite felt right--they were often uncomfortable or didn't correct my vision properly. The difference in process is clear. At District Eye Care, the measurements, analysis, and overall attention to detail are on a completely different level, and the quality of the labs they work with shows in the final product. Even as my prescription has changed slightly over the years, I've continued to use glasses I purchased from District Eye Care, while the glasses I bought from the discount retailer were usually abandoned after a couple of months because they simply didn't work well. What I initially thought was saving money turned out to be a classic case of you get what you pay for. The difference in quality, comfort, and usability is significant. I needed my crooked glasses straightened out. Stepping in and getting help was quick and easy, as there was no line. The staff only needed me to sign a waiver, then they started working on my frame immediately. I waited about 10min, then they presented my frame. Almost completely straight again. The entire staff here has been extremely helpful. I recently switched insurance and wanted to get my eyes checked. Of recently I've had terrible eye pain. I wake up feeling like it was hard to open, scratchy vision and blurry. The optometrist is incredibly thorough and thoughtful. After discovering it was severe dry eye, she recommended a few things that have been life changing!! I see flashes of blue dots and weird light images that linger, she made recommendations on potential diagnoses to have specialist after I had already left. Quite disappointed!! My 83 year old mother went in here yesterday because the screw in her eye glasses fell out at whole foods. She even had the screw with her! Because she needs her glasses to see she asked the gentleman at the counter if he wouldn't mind screwing in HER OWN screw into her eyeglasses. Not only did the gentleman lose her screw and replaced it with the wrong size screw in her glasses, but also had the audacity to charge her five dollars for it!! Because my mom needed her glasses to see she didn't wait to go to Costco which charges nothing for the service nor does anywhere else to charge to screw YOUR OWN screw (which the gentleman lost anyway) $5.00 it's just unethical. If they do this, just to put your own screw into your glasses (which again the gentleman at the counter lost and replaced HER OWN screw with a screw that doesn't fit her glasses) imagine what they do when it comes to other services Sad :( let me note since I can not reply back to customer service reply below. IT WAS NEVER DISCLOSED BEFORE HAND THERE WOULD BE A FEE. only AFTER service provided they stated $5 fee. No professional or decent person does that. You should state beforehand that there will be a five dollar charge not after the fact that you lose the original screw. Then ask for five dollars. read more

I've been coming here for a few years now, and have never had an unpleasant experience. They are always so kind and patient with me and my daughter, especially Christine! I don't know how many times we've popped in randomly because my daughter needed her glasses readjusted, but it was always quick and easy and they do it with the brightest smiles. All the staff here are honestly just wonderful! My most recent annual eye exam was with Dr. Megan Lieu, and I really liked her thorough professionalism. She couldn't get a good reading on my left eye because she said my eyes are so dry, so asked me to lubricate them well for two weeks and do a follow up exam to ensure an accurate prescription. Although it feels like hassle to come again, I appreciate a doctor who doesn't prescribe just to prescribe, is looking out for a patient's best interests, and wanting them to leave with a good outcome. Integrity is always A+++ in my book! It's also easy to make appointments here, and I never have to wait too long. Christine is also great at giving frame recommendations! read more

I went to Dr. Lieu for my annual checkup where she brought up a new treatment for dry eyes sufferers. She had known that I suffered from dry eyes for about a year and now she has a treatment that could help me. She scheduled me for another appointment to dive deeper into the status of my dry eyes. During this appointment, she took pictures and videos of my eyes open, with dye, while blinking, etc and reviewed all the pictures and videos with me and explained what was happening with my eyes. My first treatment was a great experience and my eyes feel better already. The whole thing took about 45mins. We did IPL treatment first which is a type of light therapy and then followed up with a heated tool that was massaged over my eyelids. I am looking forward to seeing the final results. If you struggle with dry eyes, I definitely recommend giving the treatment a try. read more

I do not recommend this location and will not be returning after I pick up my glasses, two months after purchasing. I saw Dr. Megan Lieu who obviously did not want to be there. I had many questions and was met with indifference. Daniel provided excellent customer service during my appointment and was patient and kind. He is the main reason for the 2-star review. The glasses I ordered were back ordered/out of stock at the time of purchase which was not communicated with me. I followed up 1 month after purchase which was when I found out and I wasn't given the option to select a different pair or cancel my order entirely. I was told "the manufacturer said they should be here but we can't find them". Now, two months later and I called to ask for a refund and I was denied. I still have to wait another week for the glasses I purchased over two months ago but I won't be holding my breath. Avoid unless you are not in a hurry to receive your glasses by end of summer. read more

My experience here was absolutely wonderful. I needed to fix a pair of sunglasses with bent legs and frame that I got elsewhere. I signed a waiver releasing them from any liability in case the glasses are broken and left them there. I got a call 30 minutes later that they were fixed. Angel the optician asked me to try on the glasses and double checked several times to make sure that they were perfect. The whole thing costed $10 and my sunglasses were as good as new :D read more

This location has such a wide selection of frames! It was my first time at this location. I did not have an eye check-up, but just needed to fill a frame with a current prescription. I was nervous and worried that I would have a hard time finding a wide-fit frame that would fit my flatter nose. Angel Guadarrama helped me out ASAP and made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. He showed me a glasses brand that was designed for my type of face (TC Charton), I never knew glasses could actually fit me well and be comfortable. They actually sit where they should on my nose, and they weren't super close to my eyes! Angel was super descriptive and showed me all of the additional add-ons for the lenses like the UV/blue light filters, which he recommended once I told him I was on my computer the whole day. Super great dude, he even offered me and other customers some beverages while waiting. :) They also sanitize the glasses after you try them on/before they place them into their viewing cabinet. Plenty of hand sanitizer, door wide open to help with ventilation, and the staff wear masks. read more

My wife purchased a pair of Maui Jim's sunglasses two years ago. On Sunday the temple arm just broke off. With a beach vacation coming up in less than a week, we needed to get these repaired as they are prescription lenses. Our first call was to the original optometrist. Their solution was to purchase a new frame. Our second call was to one of the big brand name retailers. They could fix them, but not in the turn around time we needed. Our third call was The District Eye Care. I provided the details about the glasses and they immediately contacted Maui Jim's to check on the part. Within 10 minutes we had a call back with good news. Maui Jim's would over night the part from their repair center located on Maui. On Wednesday we got the call the part had arrived. We took the glasses in and the repair was made on the spot, including any adjustments for a proper fit. I had a great experience at the District Eye Care Optometry. I decided to find a new optometry office and come here for my annual check up and it was a very relaxed and comfortable experience. Dr Le was wonderful and easy to talk to and not at all "Dr up in your face let me get you out the door". She didn't rush around and took the time to explain everything as my eagle eyesight from Lasik has finally started to regress just enough to be noticeable so I may need glasses again. After the exam, Christine helped me scour around for a look for glasses that best suited me. It almost seemed to be a fun mission for her! She picked out a lot of pairs for me to try on and was extremely patient with me as well. If going to the eye dr and or choosing glasses was to be a fun thing, this would have been it.
