Farmer's omelette and side of delicious pancakes
    Laura R.

Great little local diner with some serious food. We stopped in on our way through Perry, very easy to find, and enough parking. No stairs to get in but there is a tiny step up. There are mostly booths with just a few counter seats and a couple high top tables. Bathrooms are M/F but one at a time. The ladies room door didn't lock well, but I wasn't in there long anyway lol. You'd better be hungry if you order the Hungry man for breakfast. Hubby could not finish it! He drinks tea and they only had Earl Grey, so that was disappointing for him to not have some plain black tea. The coffee was great but I did have to request a refill, and it wasn't busy. My 3-egg omelette was huge and full of stuff (I appreciate the onions were grilled first) and I chose not to finish it so I could try some of their own recipe pancakes. The pancakes were so delicious - light fluffy and served with real butter. I couldn't finish those either! I should have asked for real maple syrup (not sure if that's an option) as they gave us a large container of "mystery syrup," which was ok, but these pancakes deserve real syrup! Kiersten, our server, was excellent and can carry many many things at a time. We would stop back again when in the area!

Had to get the garbage plate! Was delicious. Place is small and nothing fancy but gets the jobs done. Waiter was super nice and accommodating. Only mild complaint was the creamer I poured in my coffee had congealed / seemed spoiled but not a huge deterrent. Overall a great place to stop if you're in the area!

As I left to drive to NYC I came to this establishment. Good for breakfast. I ordered their #1 Traditional Bkft with Sausage. Filling & satisfying with a cup of Joe. Service was prompt and friendly

John & Sarah's crunchy chicken club wrap
    Kacey D.

While visiting a friend out in Perry, we decided to pick up some lunch from John & Sarah's restaurant. I ordered their crunchy chicken club wrap with a side of salad and italian dressing. Our pickup time was fairly quick and the food came carefully packaged, which I appreciated. I was surprised to see that the wrap had a tomato tortilla shell, but it was surprisingly good! The chicken inside was still crispy and delicious after the drive and the wrap paired well with my side salad. I would definitely give this menu option a try!

We wanted to - as usual - help a local small business. We tried to like this small place but it wasn't easy. I opted for a fried fish fry which is pan-fried. It was NOT served pan-fried at all. I suspect it was put on the grill, covered with a pan lid and steamed. There were NO fry browning on the fish at all. I were eating soup, and the fish was delivered as we were STILL eating, so the fish got cold. Cold "cooked" fish is not tasty at all. My first time ever served and ate a cold fish, which was not tasty. By time we got to bed, my stomach was tossing and turning, not me but my stomach.

    Corned beef dinner

I decided to give this place another chance. Had corned beef and cabbage dinner for St Patrick's day & it was very good. Sliced a bit too thick for corned beef though. The cashier was friendly . The take out was correct nothing missing :)

The food came out extremely slow. We waited for 45 minutes, for a table of 5. There were only a few people there at the time. She offered to box up the food since we spent so much time waiting we had to leave. The next problem was our food was very inconsistent. My sister had the junk plate and my son had the junk fries and they both loved their food. My sister said it was one of the better "garbage plate" type meals she's had. Me and my mom not as good. My mom said the soup was lacking any flavor and was not good at all. The main problem with our meals was we both had the egg and olive sandwich. Tasted good until at different times we both bit into egg shells. Happened more than once to the point I didn't want to eat anymore because I didn't know to expect an eggshell. Therefore both me and my mom could not finish our meals. I posted a pic so you can see it's a big piece of shell.

Service was a little off. She got my order wrong then disappeared. As a result I really couldn't do anything about it. Also, she gave me my coffee, cream, and sugar. But she didn't give me anything to stir it with (again disappearing). She was a young girl so I'll mark it off to inexperience. If I was in the area, I would go back.

I had the eggs Benedict with home fries. The eggs Benedict was really good. Eggs were perfect and the sauce was nicely flavored. The home fries were not the best. Their menu has what you'd expect from a classic diner, prices are cheap, and service is quick! We got the Country Style Eggs and Patty Melt. Both lacked basic seasonings like salt & pepper. If I was rating off the food alone, I'd give it a 3/5. The home fries in the Country Style Eggs could've been crispier and adding hot sauce definitely saved this a bit. The biscuit we got with it was homemade and so delicious. It was warm, buttery, and satisfying. The Patty Melt was a bit dry and desperately needed a sauce. I used ketchup and asked for pickles which helped. The rye bread was surprisingly not dry and grilled nicely with butter. It was definitely a heavy meal but we needed it after a long drive. It's not the kind of place where you'll have an amazing meal but it'll do the job at a super affordable price.

Well well well did we ever luck out today (SATURDAY)…read more You know that the food is good when you get that happy food dance. Let me tell you... I was happy food dancing the whole way through my Beef on a Weck. Let me back up a minute and take yall start to finish, we walked in and there was a clear "please seat yourself" sign by the checkout. The place feels small town and adorable. The wooden booths aren't here for your comfort, but the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server greeted us with a smile and was super helpful. She was friendly and talked us through the menu. I settled on the must have Beef on a Weck (no sides) while my partner had the Fire grilled Roast Beef and Swiss with sweet potato fries. I didn't even know what a Weck was until we stopped by today. When the plate was placed infront of me I knew I would loveee what was to come next. Beef on a Weck... it is served open faced because the meat is the clear feature here... but when I flipped it over I knew what to do.... eat this beast upside down (meaning seasonings touch the tongue when you take a bite). Trust this foodie... this hack takes that sandwich to the next level!!!! The horseradish provided was very good and had a nice bite, and I like Horseradish, but the seasonings (sea salt and cardamom seeds) on that bun are what I really found myself seeking every bite. Man that was delicious. Now not to be out done, the Fire Grilled Rst Beef and Swiss was also a head turner too! The warm roast beef and melty Swiss cheese did not disappoint. The sandwich bread was toasted to perfection, and it was also delicious! The side of sweet potato fries just took the whole dish to the next level! While our stomachs did not allow room for dessert (likely due to the amount of meat each sandwich contained) I was almost tempted to try the caramel cheesecake. Prices were also extremely reasonable especially considering the quality! All in all this was a fabulous stop and we would go out of our way to come again on a Saturday when the Roast Beef is fresh!
