Around the back is the entrance to this unassuming Italian restaurant. Its cozy and simple with…read morerustic wood accents. 6-8 tables and an ample bar for maybe 10. Mckelvey was my bartender/server. She was sweet and welcoming. She mixed a terrific Negroni! Backpedaling a bit. I arrived at 6 and by the time my cocktail was in front of me there was a wait. I was disappointed with the apps.. all fried..I'm sure delish but I wasn't in the mood. I had Utica beans and kale (had the hot pepper symbol but not at all spicy ) $16 with a side meatball $6 and sausage $6. Portions were generous and the atmosphere was lively. Everything arrived quickly. Same for my bar mates. I will go back and request extra extra cherry peppers.. Oh! And get the lemon marscapone cake... worth every calorie!! Mange!

When we arrived the place was packed, but sure enough, our table was waiting. First came water. Then our server Lydia came over to ask for our drink order. Because I was driving back home, I only wanted one craft beer for the evening. My wife was having wine. We each ordered the Caesar salad, which was half of a Romaine lettuce sliced lengthwise dressed with cheese and dressing. It was tasty, but a lot of food. I ordered the fra Diavlo seafood pasta with rigatoni. My wife had one of the specials, which looked a bit like beef on weck without the sesame seeds. Mine was good, but not all spicy like I was expecting. Hers was actually quite good. Both were loaded with garlic, which seems to be a staple of this place. Because it was a Friday evening and the place was packed, the noise level was quite high. This was especially true because behind me were two large tables of noisy diners. Once they left it was back to a more normal level. Our server Lydia was terrific. Overall staffing was quite good. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Well go back!

Back then it was so much better. We sat at the bar and the very friendly bartender told us about the specials that weren't on the menu. One appetizer was bacon wrapped shrimp. That's all she said, no other details about that, so we assumed that was all it was. We also wanted a salad bar. $24.95 for the soup and salad bar only, or $6.95 or $7.95 if you ordered food as well. So we ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp and 2 salad bars, 2 beers on tap. I was served my porter but it was about 2 inches short from the top . I was going to ask her to fill the pint but she disappeared. So I stayed silent. We got our salads, and then she brought out the shrimp but it was swimming in some red creamy hot sauce, you could hardly see the shrimp. We asked her what it was, she told us, we said we couldn't eat hot spicy sauce, and she offered to wrap it up to go. Seriously? My husband asked her to take it back, she said "oh I'm bad, I didn't mention the sauce". They took it off our check. 2 salad bars, 2 beers and $80. So NOT WORTH IT. The salad bar was ok. However I got food poisoning from it. Burped and gas that smelled like eggs (yes I put chopped eggs on my salad) for 5 days. Nausea. Never going back.

I ate EVERY bit of it. When I drove home to NE Ohio, a three hour trip, I debated whether the leftovers had been out too long but the food was so good that I ate the rest of it anyway. I'm a foodie and it's the best meal I've had in the area-hands down. My Future mother-in-law got the French onion soup and the chicken and biscuits and she loved it too!

I ordered an apple cider Martini which was tasty and a salad with apples and nuts and caper berries. We ordered the cheese sticks to start which were made of cheddar cheese and they were really yummy and had an amazing spicy honey drizzle. My niece got a pasta dish which I believe she liked, my sister got the fish fry what she didn't particularly like. The dish I had wanted to order they were out of, which was kind of a bummer. They have plenty of parking and lots of seating as well as a bar. Service was nice. Talking about those fried cheddar cheese sticks is making me crave them!

The Scarlet Vetter says.....First off, I really love this restaurant. The service, ambiance, and…read morethe food are top notch. Simply great. The owner is present almost all the time tending to things and checking in on tables. I have never ever had a bad meal here. Like not ever. Not even a mediocre meal. Always rates very good to great. From the steaks. To the seafood, to the Italian specialties.....just tops. It is hard to get into during the ski season, and not too easy even off season, so please do plan and make a reservation. If you can snag a booth, that is the best. The bar is a great place to come for a drink with a friend or to watch a sporting event. My most recent visit to the restaurant was this past Friday, a nice night in early May. We met some friends here for dinner. We had two appetizers of stuffed peppers which are absolutely amazing with just the right amount of heat, and the Nona's Meatball with gooey rich ricotta cheese.....yum yum. My husband ordered a house salad, which was crisp and delicious. For entrees, our companion couple ordered the twin filets and the fish fry. Both were reported to be fantastic. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan and I ordered the Chicken Milanese. Absolutely excellent. For dessert, both couples shared their own order of Tiramisu. I ordered an Espresso and that simply rounded out an amazing dinner. I really can't recommend this place enough.

Finally drinks (three sodas and house merlot) were delivered and we gave our food order. Then we waited and waited for more than an hour to receive any food. The first item served was something we did not order, and it continued to be downhill from there. A manager came over and apologized explaining two entrees were burned and they had to redo. She said we would get a free dessert (meanwhile we hadn't even eaten). Eventually, food arrived. The chicken parm was hot but the pasta was not. The orders of macaroni and butter for the kids were tasteless and mushy obviously having been overcooked and sitting in warm water. The bucatini carbonara was lukewarm and the Caesar salad we ordered was never was served. Yes the place was busy and the atmosphere was family friendly. Tyler was certainly trying, but completely befuddled. Not sure if this was a fluke experience or expectations at this restaurant are low to begin with. Our grandchildren ages 12, 10 and 7 were well behaved and patient but my husband and I were extremely angry and frustrated . Tyler was obviously overwhelmed as we observed other tables receive their food orders long after orders were put in. We were there for more than 2 1/2 hours, served mediocre food and received extremely poor, slow service. We did pay our bill and left a 20% tip, but we will never return again. As weekend visitors, this place was recommended. However, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Our experience was not good, very frustrating and unsatisfying. Service and food need improvement.

The menu offered some incredible Italian dishes and some excellent specials. I decided to try their Chicken French and it was probably the best Chicken French that I have ever had. We also decided on the garlic bread appetizer and the sauce that you dip the bread in was to die for. It also just so happened that it was $4 beer day and for me that was better than a 2 for 1, and it was hard not to have every beer on the list. Our server was super helpful and next level knowledgeable about all the food on the menu. I need to bring a group back down here to experience the Chicken French the great service and $4 Beer Tuesdays!!!!

I guess if you come in early to work to eat, the food must be good, right? We had the Artichoke French as an appetizer, which had a delicious lemon flavor. My manager and I both ordered the Gyro Salad, her's with chicken, mine with salmon. Plenty of fresh toppings and the grilled pita was a nice touch. Just would have loved to have actual gyro as a protein add-on option. And because I have a wicked sweet tooth, we ordered peanut butter pie to-go. The server mentioned that none of the desserts are housemade, but still worth a try. I did enjoy the pie, which was rich, not a cream-cheese base. Overall, a nice lunch spot if you ever happen to find yourself out in Hornell.
