Solid experience at High Banks Tavern while in town to hike at Letchworth State Park. Found a spot at the bar on a Saturday evening and it was crowded but service was good. I got a beer on tap and the Swiss and mushroom burger with a side salad. Everything was good but certainly your basic bar food quality. My son comes in from out of town and always wants to go to Highbanks. They make their good coffee fresh and whatever I choose off the menu is always tasty. STAFF friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable experience every time. read more

So I went there in the last week a couple times and the first time I got a chicken bacon burger and it was super good. I had it to go which I love that. It's in aluminum foil and the bun is separated, so the food is not soggy. The fries were OK. They were not as crispy as I liked but the lady that took my order was super sweet. It's super nice and clean in the area as well. The second time I ordered I make sure I asked for crispy fries. They were very crispy. They were very good and the lady was super sweet again and the food is no doubt really good. I like that place and I definitely will go again!! read more

This is a solid choice for the area. They have good drinks, friendly staff and pub food. I had a buffalo chicken salad which didn't have the blue cheese on it. It wasn't anything special but the ingredients were fresh. The big tv they have was showing a game of Pollo which was a refreshing change from what you expect at a bar. read more

Waiting time is outrageous on a Saturday afternoon. We were waiting for 30 minutes for some quick burgers and fries. When the burgers came out, one of them is without any veggies, and with non-stick papers for frozen food on it. The quality of the meat does not live up for a $15 burger at all. HIGH BANKS TAVERN IS 5 stars banked! Definitely HIGH 5 STARS. Passed that place often but didnt bother stop & try. This time I finally decided to give the shot. Small but really nice! Have tables outside so I picked to sit outside to enjoy the nice weather today. I ordered large pizza & wings on Sunday deal for $26. Sweet deal. They do have couple of TVs to watch sports. I root SF 49ers & they have it on TV but I watch on my iPhone which it is perfectly fine because I sit outside. Waiter is pretty cool & super friendly. He deliver food & drink. Come to check in if I need anything. Thats good waiter!! Large pizza w/ pepperoni & bacons. WHOA. Thats looked good! First bite, mmm good. Second bite, mmmm good... goes on. It's definitely good!! Wings w/ honey bbq. It is not bad, not wow or amazing. Its not bad. I know its aint like buffalo wild wings. I ate 4 slices of pizzas and it filled me. Savin' the rest for later as my midnight snack. Wings too. Prices on menu is pretty reasonable and made sense that not extremely expensive. Mostly of 'em are under $25. Oh wait, inside of building is really lookin' cool. Couple of TVs. Good space for just 50 people. I was expecting packed because its Sunday & football but yo, I was wrong! Its like 10 people today. Good evening for me tho! Parking ? I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at this restaurant. My friend and I were just passing through from Canada on our way back to NJ and this town is just so adorable, we had to stop to explore a bit and ultimately desided to grab something to eat before hitting the road once again. I must say, the French Onion soup was one of the best tasting French Onion soups I have tasted to date (Aug. 2022). The BBQ Chicken salad was also super fresh, well executed and absolutely enjoyable. We got treats from a local "gluten free" bakery for dessert so I am not sure what the dessert situation is at this restaurant but if it is anything like their soup and salad, it must be amazing. My friend got a sandwich with tater tots. He said it was really tastey and had no complaints. read more

The food is good. There are a lot of really good beers on the menu. Don't go in a rush. The food will take time, especially if they are busy. The atmosphere is very nice, if a little confused. There are TV screens everywhere you look, but a lot of them weren't tuned to anything. There's also Keno. So the vibe is kind of family-friendly dive bar. read more

Ok so, I ordered takeout for my family and I was told originally 45 mins . Completely fine however we went and it took almost another hour and a half to get my food. Also I know I said BLT wrap but suprise it wasn't on there. Maybe my fault for not looking at the receipt but I was not going to wait another 2 hours for a wrap. The only reason I gave it two stars is because they comped my drinks which was nice. Honestly haven't even had the food yet but will never be back cause of lack of communication. 2 hours for my food was absolutely atrocious. UPDATE: to add insult to injury. Stopped in after a day of hiking in Letchworth State Park. The ribs were delicious and perfectly cooked. They had a great selection of beers on draft and were kind about letting us try some before deciding on a pint. The service was friendly and efficient. This place would be great if the owners took some time to actually care. The servers/bartenders, and cooks clearly work hard but on a regular basis only 1 person serves and tends bar. This results in service that is slower than the French and Indian War with 0 attention to quality of food. Understandable for those who work there but stop being lazy owners. You should grow some work ethic and help your employees out. Overall, if you're looking for good service, decent food, and an hour wait come here. This was our go to Friday evening meal. We go here often and sadly have watched it decline. This last time the service was terrible, they do not have enough trained staff to handle the dinner crowd. The food was just ok- the fried pickles chips were one matted ball of mush that was cooked together in a mass. They did not give any appetizer plates so very difficult and not pleasing to eat. I asked for lemon for my fish 3 times and the did not bring it until my fish was cold. I surmised I was going to take it to warm it for lunch next day. I was not even angry, I could see they were busy and I used to waitress so I asked for a box and the bill. I went to the restroom quickly and returned to an empty table! They took all of my left overs and a full beer! The waitress just said sorry I don't even know what to say and offered took a beer off the bill. It was over $30 for 1 beer, 2 pickle chips (what I could peel off) a side salad and French fries! It is a small bar with less than good food. I could not eat the appetizer or my main entree!
