Booked my birthday dinner here with family and friends. This is the kind of place that makes memories, we felt comfortable and happy. The chef and staff are locals and have a good rapport. And the FOOD! All three appetizers were fantastic. Then we indulged with lasagna, delicious ravioli, and handmade pastas with creative sauces. Everyone enjoyed. Italian beer and wine were spot on. Superb Italian food. I opted for the Casarecce - with vodka sauce, pancetta, burrata, and onions. Very tasty. Their pasta is fresh made on the premises. My colleague really enjoyed her Pasta Gambaretti. Our server was divine - she had really good recommendations and made us feel right at home. We didn't have a reservation and weren't sure if we'd be able to get a table but they were able to accommodate us! Very grateful because this was the best meal of our trip! This restaurant is clearly one of New York State's hidden gems. We were visiting Mt. Morris and came here with a small group and sat in our own room. Located right in the center of town with easy street parking. It was just delightful. We had eight people in our own [not so] little room with its' own bar. After mingling for a few we all took and seat and reviewed the menu. Our waiter was a delightful young man who took the time to review all the FRESH HOMEMADE dishes. We started with the stuffed mushrooms and eggplant appetizer. Oh my, both just screamed of fresh and they were delicious-tasty-complex dishes. Main dish for me was the Lasagna and my wife Shrimp Scampi over fresh pasta. The lasagna was magnificent with delicious fresh macaroni and mouth watering rich sauce. You just can't stop eating once you've started. The [fresh] shrimp we perfectly cook over homemade pasta. Again just perfect. The waiter had a very precise way of describing the food and wine, and when I asked him if he cooked this too, he answered, of course. After dinner he also gave us a tour of the multiple pasta makers. This is one serious establishment. We ended our dinner with their chocolate mousse. OUTSTANDING. I have never had a mousse with this creamy-chocolate texture before. It was divine. It makes me want to come here on the weekends even though it's a five hour drive. We went here looking for fresh pasta and delicious food. Our waitstaff was attentive and friendly. The salads were atypical of most salads; lots of variety in the lettuce, along with olives and carrots and peppers. The creamy italian dressing was filled with fresh herbs. My husband and I spent the weekend in Letchworth park and were looking for a place in Mt. Morris to grab a late lunch on our way back to Rochester this past Sunday. We looked to Yelp for help, and were planning to visit the Charred American Bar and Grill, based on the good reviews and the fact that they had a lot of gluten free options. Unfortunately they were closed for some reason, so we decided to drive down Main Street and see if there was anything else. The only place open was Questa Lasagna. I wasn't too excited about that since Italian pasta places rarely have anything gluten free that is decent, but the Yelp reviews also looked good, so we went in. We got there at 2:45 pm and the first thing that struck me was how full the restaurant was at that hour on a Tues. Definitely a good sign! We were seated quickly and noticed that there were a handful of good looking specials, some nice looking cookies/desserts in the display, and fresh flowers in vases on every table. We also noticed they had a chef and one server, Zach, for all of those people. I wasn't sure what to expect next. The menu is full of pasta dishes, with a big section of what I would call 'specialty' lasagnas - seafood lasagna, Greek lasagna, veggie lasagna, etc. My husband decided on the seafood lasagna plus an order of the cheesy garlic bread. I was happy to see several substantial salads on the menu, plus nice soup and two gluten free entrees - saffron risotto with balsamic veggies (which I ordered) and one other dish that I can't remember. However, gluten free options are not listed on their online menu, and their printed menu clearly states their kitchen is not an 'allergen-free' environment. They make all the pasta by hand, so I am sure there is wheat flour floating all over the place in there! But I'm not celiac, so that was OK for me. We were very happy with our meals, and surprised by the big portions for lunch, which Zach confirmed were 'small' compared to the dinner portions! The garlic bread alone was a long (8 inches) loaf of bread cut in half length-wise, covered in cheese and cut into 10 pieces. My husband ate 4 of them and took the rest home. The seafood lasagna was served in its own special crock/dish and was about 6-8 inches long by 4 inches wide and another 2 inches deep. It was filled with shrimp, tilapia and and scallops. He ate it all but was stuffed. My risotto was nicely flavored, cooked to the perfect consistency and served with a veggie medley that included carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant and onions. It was a very nice combination. Not the most delicious thing I have ever eaten, but tasty, gluten free and priced right! All of the dishes are also served with a side salad, with your choice of dressing. I had their house balsamic which was very good; my husband went for the house-made anchovy-ceasar dressing, which was awesome. The most tasty and delicious dressing I think I have ever had in a restaurant! All in all, a great value, with both entrees costing less than $15 pp. We didn't really save room for dessert, but after the solid meals, and because we had cross-country skied in Letchworth for 2 hrs before lunch, we also ordered their panna cotta for dessert. It was gluten free, vanilla flavored and covered with chocolate. Perfect ending. Zach was very attentive considering how much he was juggling. We were actually so impressed with his efficiency that we told him so at the end of the meal. We would definitely go back and recommend to anyone in the area. Food was very good and the service was very friendly! It seems you must make a reservation; all tables had a reserved sign on them. We called to make one same-day before they opened, left a message, and they called us back within an hour or two to confirm! Serving sizes were slightly above average; the two of us were able to share an entree, though we didn't come starving. Seems that most, if not all, food is homemade (including pasta). Entrees were $30+ each, appetizers $12+ each. Appetizers felt appropriately priced but entrees seemed a bit high; we personally would expect family style serving sizes for that cost. Lasagna. Delicious, fresh, hot, cheesy, mouth watering pasta goodness. Well, this was an unexpected find in the upper regions of New York State. Not much in this small quaint town that looks like it's plucked from middle America in the 1950's, but Mount Morris has some nice spots such as Questa Lasagna that was a terrfic food find! After I ran a Tough Mudder last summer in upstate NY the next day we were driving up to Buffalo and Niagra Falls using the GPS and it had us pass through this town for some odd reason. As a storm was just starting we decided to park the car and duck into a few places during the rain. One biz owner suggested we check out Questa for lunch. So glad we did! It's a small hidden gem of a place that is family owned and makes all their pastas on site. Nice simply stated decor and wonderful sevice. The prices are right too. As for the food? Let's just say that the homemade lasagna was spot-on fabulous! We opted to start with some crispy hot garlic bread, and also odered a cheese lasagna and a beef lasanga. All I can say is - Wow! The lasanga here can feed an army as it's piled high in a bowl and tastes wonderful. The chef here knows how to make a proper lasagna. We had to try some dessert, and being that we were both stuffed with lasagna carb overdose babies we decided to share a chocolate lasagna. The pasta was made of chocolate, and the cannoli filling was the ricotta along with fresh whipped cream and chocolate ganache to finish it off. More than enough for two to share. It's a unique and fun dessert that was a perfect ending to a marvelous meal find. We drove up to Buffalo fat and happy. Glad the GPS had us stumble upon this spot. read more

This is a fantastic little restaurant all around. I've been here twice, and both times I went for the Greek lasagna - my weakness for kalamata olives and feta overpowered the really delicious-looking specials. The service was attentive and friendly; our waiter was accommodating about everything from citrus allergies to impromptu garlic bread orders. The pasta is freshly made, so it might take a little while to serve, but it's well worth it. The lasagnas are served in little personal-sized dishes and there will more than likely be plenty to take home for a midnight snack. Questa Lasagna has a really nice and quaint atmosphere, a welcoming environment, and amazing food. It's a real drag -everywhere we go there is only Diet Pepsi. Not here!!! My husband was thrilled when he found out that they have diet Coke here, served in a large bottle to boot! He also said the bread was delicious and homemade. Of course I had to order the gluten-free items they had on their menu. Pretty decent selection but no gluten-free pasta. Our server was wonderful, she was alone though yet very accommodating and sweet. The wait was a little longer than expected but well worth it. Looking for a quiet fancy dinner for the perfect price? This is the place to go! Looks fairly small on the outside until stepping in, the place is just darling! Nice high ceilings, perfect table settings, a few paintings and wonderful staff! I highly suggest making reservations, we did and every table around us had a reserve sign. Tables go fast! We instantly were greeted by our wonderful waiter, john. His attitude was perfect and so was our service. The food was amazing. Salad and bread before the main courses. After our main courses we then received a nice thick slice of home style cheese cake topped with a chocolate ganash. So creamy and flavorful! If you're looking for a dessert that leaves you licking your plate at the end trying to savor every last bit, chocolate lasagna is just for you! I was very intrigued by this place. Having attended SUNY Geneseo for four years, there was never many *decent* options around than your typical college town pizza and sub shops. Also I was curious to its location, Mt. Morris, only short drive away, I had only driven thru it once or twice. A small joint, only about ten tables, most of which were full on a Tuesday night, always a good sign! I was set on getting the scallops special after viewing it on their FB page. But I love the lasagna. It's just so hearty and filling. When I saw the seafood lasagna on the menu, with shrimp, scallops and tilapia, I knew I couldn't go wrong and it was the best of both worlds. I mean, the place does have the lasagna in its name, and it's slogan is no freezers, no fryers. Again intrigued. To start off, we ordered the bruschetta. It was slightly different than I was used to, with the cheese melted over the top, definitely a good starter. The entrees come, and you can choose between a lunch size or dinner, and the dinner size was pretty big! The lasagna had good size chunks of the seafood I mentioned which was refreshing. After about 3/4s of the way through it, the ricotta started to become too much, and I couldn't finish it, which is so unlike me! My date ordered chicken stuffed ravioli, that had a great marinara sauce in it. I used the table bread that we got to soak up some more of it! After being quite full, and not finishing the entree, the waitress asked about dessert, and I inquired what was their signature dish. Chocolate lasagna?!? Chocolate was the 'pasta' and cannoli filling was the ricotta. Oh lord, really, really good! I also got an almond biscotti. I forgot to get tea with it, but good taste. Attempting to continue on my path to a tight, sexy waistline, I accompanied my parents to Questa Lasagna, committed to ordering a meal that was delicious and filling, but didn't require a belt loosening afterward. I recently downloaded a calorie counter app and I didn't want my phone to explode after it was made aware that I had consumed an entire dinner-sized portion of beef lasagna and load of chocolate lasagna for dessert. Consequently, I opted for a lunch-sized portion of the Mussels alla Marinara special, a bottle of San Pelligrino, and Balsamic Vinaigrette on my salad. I was so proud of myself. The big bottle of San Pelligrino for $2.50 was much cheaper than the $6 bottles I'm used to ordering in restaurants (and a lot cheaper than the $12 bottle of Voss I mistakenly ordered once in Boston) and every bit as refreshing. I wasn't expecting much from my $11 pasta dish, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw 15 plump PEI Mussels atop a perfectly sensible portion of fresh pasta. I didn't think I could get fish this fresh if the words Lento or Wegmans weren't in the restaurant's name, but I was wrong. As Brian T. mentioned, Questa does not have freezers, nor does it have microwaves, so I guess I could have figured out the mussels would be fresh, but I was too hungry to do such complex reasoning. I felt great after devouring my reasonably sized meal, so I ordered the Panna Cotta, foolishly believing I could afford to eat a few more calories without any harm. I ordered take-out beef lasagna from Questa Lasagna once and loved it. Given my good experience and the glowing yelp reviews I took someone special here for dinner on a saturday night. Call it an off night, an anomaly, whatever, but this place failed to deliver. Check it.. In their defense, from the moment we walked in, it was obvious the waitstaff was overwhelmed. All but 3 tables were occupied and the free tables had been marked as reserved. After a lot of flustered sighs and discussions among the waitstaff, we along with another couple that came in before us were escorted to a side room, off the main dining area that had about half a dozen additional tables. After about 15 minutes almost all those tables were occupied; yes Questa was the place to be in Mt. Morris. Our waitress, bless her heart was well intentioned but in over her head. I heard another waitress telling people at a nearby table "we weren't planning to open this section tonight but we didn't want to turn people away". This is not a homeless shelter and it wasnt 10 below outside. This is a restaurant with $15-$17 entrees and truth be told I would have rather been told there would be a wait then to be given sloppy service and sloppier food. Service was atrocious. Took way too long to get our salads, bread and entrees. We ordered garlic bread as an appetizer right off the bat. So what went down was we were brought the plain bread and butter that comes with every meal, 10 minutes later, salads, 10 minutes later some very stale crumbly garlic bread and 20 minutes later entrees. I guess it's my fault for not sticking to the lasagna. Our waitress didn't bother to mention the specials to us, which in retrospect was a blessing in disguise. I overheard another waitress mentioning the dinner special which was a shrimp with pasta dish. As evidenced by the photo I posted, the amount of oil and liquid on the dish was unacceptable; practically spilling off the plate. The spaghetti and meatballs we also ordered was merely ok, and this from someone who is not nearly as picky as I am. I wanted to try the chocolate lasagna but by the end of the long disappointing meal we didnt want to prolong the torture. I went out of my way to come here on a Saturday at 8:30, knowing they did not close until 9. When I arrived they had no interest in serving me, said they could give me lasagna but that's it. I pointed out that they were open until 9 and they said well they didn't have any other customers so they were cleaning up early. There's a reason they didn't have other customers. She said "uhhhh sure..." , being so hesitant to seat my family and I. I thought it was strange that she didn't greet us, take initiative to ask us questions, nor communicate that we should follow her to our table. She just walked right past us. We drove an hour to meet a friend from Buffalo who drove a similar distance to get to Cuesta. At 4 we waited, at 4:10 we continued waiting. We asked vendors along the street about when or if they open at arnd 4 and not only didn't ANYONE on the block know but they were annoyed that we were asking. Sad because first off, this is an unreliable business. Secondly, the town folk were pretty unfriendly soo we're not visiting Mt Morris to eat ever again. Perhaps they only do take out? To begin, the wine and the service were good. But the food was oddly prepared. My wife had a dish with shrimp and gnocchi. The sauce on the gnocchi was a very lemony red sauce. Absolutely did not work; and would not work on any food I have ever eaten. My scallops were perfectly cooked, as was the homemade angel hair pasta on which they sat. But the pasta tasted like it was made without salt and cooked in unsalted water. It was perfectly cooked with a good chew but flavorless. Same with the sauce.....which I'm still trying to figure out what was in it. Bland, bland, bland. I would give this place a miss if you know what's good for you. First time here - lasagna did not disappoint - I had beef lasagna and my lovely wife had Greek lasagna. Salad I had anchovy Ceasar dressing on house salad - yummy a bit salty hint of anchovy - thought was a risk but it paid off! The beef lasagna - had both shredded beef and ground beef, homemade lasagna noodles great cheese - really really good. My love had the Greek - kalamata, Feta, spinach, cheeses and those super homemade pasta noodles - loved it - highly recommend. It's 45 min from rochester and 35 minutes from Houghton. Now we are having an espresso and cannoli for desert. Oh and decent beer and wine selection as well read more

An excellent meal! The eggplant appy was perfectly still crisp and the sauce better than mom's! (Sorry Mom). The Pasta Fagioli was a true pasta dish, not the soupy version I usually see in restaurants. This was how mom makes it! Also great lasagna choices- we had the beef. One slight disappointment was Chocolate Lasagna. It sounded great but the noodles were too thick and a bit chewy. I might have used thin chocolate wafers. The cannoli cream got lost in the chocolate ganache which flooded the dessert, Again, I might have drizzled, not poured it. I regret not ordering Lemon Cake for dessert, which I was told was excellent by other diners. But do go here...it is a gem! read more

Looking for a lunch spot, everyone in town told is to eat here. We were not disappointed. My husband and I had one of the pasta specials Amatriciana and it was one of the best pasta dishes we have ever had. Full of flavor with pancetta, onion, tomato, basil, garlic...and homemade pasta cooked correctly, al dente. Homemade bread and a small side salad accompanied the pasta. The restaurant is on the smaller side but very comfortable. Service was very good and not intrusive.
