When I go to an Italian restaurant I get the same thing every time. I've been to most of the Italian restaurants within a 45 mile radius and the one I found that makes the best chicken parmesan is fratelli's restaurant, hands down. Regarding price, I use to think they are pretty expensive for chicken and pasta but I've actually been to other Italian restaurants that were horrible and charged more. Surprise, surprise! That said, I gladly recommend them. read more

The food was very good, however. I didn't like the fact that the waitress and hostess were told more than once that it was my birthday. However there was a big party of about 15 next to us and that birthday was recognized. I also didn't care for the attire the waitresses were wearing, yoga pants with PINK printed on the back isn't appropriate for this high scale dinning experience. Again the food was awesome. TLDR; big portions, salty entrees, decent. Came for dinner on a Sunday evening. We made a reservation since we had a big party but the restaurant was only half full when we arrived. There's actually lots of seating inside, including some separate rooms as well. We were seated and after getting bread and butter placed at the tables, our orders were taken. Service was fairly quick and staff was friendly. There were just a bit of miscommunication with what was included with each entrée (soup, salad or pasta but we thought it was soup or salad and pasta) so there were a few extra charges but it wasn't a big deal so we just paid it. The complimentary bread came warm to the table but was nothing special. I ordered the veal parmigiana with a side of meat sauce angel hair pasta and the eggplant saltimbocca to share with my fiancé. The veal was thinned out and had a nice breading around it with plenty of sauce and cheese, but it became way too salty after a few bites. The center where it was a bit thicker was more tender. The eggplant dish was very interesting, flavors that I never had before but I liked that it was different. It had a bit of a sour profile, in a nice way and the eggplant was fried well. However, the sauce that it was in made it soggy too quick, which I didn't prefer. This was also too salty. The pasta was simple and good, plenty of chunky meats in the meat sauce. I also got to try the chicken parmigiana, which had chunkier cutlets but also too salty. The gnocchi with meat sauce was just okay. The gnocchi was too mushy for my taste and the meat sauce was the same sauce I had with my pasta side, no complaints with that. The white clam sauce linguine was simple, had small pieces of clams with no shells, just alright nothing special. Overall, the dishes were too salty for me. Portions were huge but good for the price point. Nothing really blew me away. read more

For uostate Italian food, this place is on par with Long Island and NYC Italian joints!!! We shared the chicken parm over pasta and it was some of the best we ever had! We also had the shrimp scampi and angel hair which was equally good! Service was prompt and we went early on a Friday evening making a reservation in advance for a 5pm dinner. I went here for my 17 year-old's birthday. It is very expensive. You get treated well here though they even ask you different options if you'd like different specials and the waitress was so sweet. She's like if your kids don't like it they can try it and I'll just bring something else out. She was very accommodating very nice And it was a great experience. I think the food is very good and we will be back again.! The only thing we had to do is just wait a little while to be seated. It wasn't that busy though. Being from NY/LI we had to try out this restaurant. Overall it was a very nice place. It was clean and inviting. We went at noon so there was definitely a large lunch crowd but the line moved. We ordered the Fratelli's chicken sandwich which was decent. My son ordered the hot Italian sandwich. FYI, If you order a hot sandwich to go, they will wrap it in the paper wrapping and it will stick to the cheese in your sandwich. We were pressed for time so we took our sandwiches to go. When we got home the hot sandwich had the paper stuck to the cheese. I had to cut around it which caused most of the cheese to be thrown away. Please don't use that paper to wrap up hot sandwiches. Made reservations for New Year's Eve, 6pm. Specifically wanted the prime rib for my husband, and the seafood special for myself. They were out of both. We were told that they didn't make much because they were closing then next day for a while . He settled for the ny strip steak, and I got the cheese ravioli with the "red sauce". His steak was okay. Mine was less than okay. The sauce was runny and thin, and no flavor--the ravioli was no better than frozen store bought. The service was great. Wont be returning any time soon. read more

Fratelli's has been my FAVORITE/GO TO restaurant for a MANY years. I never look at the menu, as I always know what I want...always the same Linguini w/Red Clam Sauce and an order of Brushetta Bread. Saturday night my wife, I and two other couples dined at your establishment, to celebrate my birthday. Once again I ordered my aforementioned favorites. I ordered a Full order of linguini and was brought out a half order. No big deal, I had the waitress wrap up the other half to take home. My order of Brushetta bread never came. Here is my main issue: The Linguini did not taste the same as in the past (I have eaten more than a dozen times), I actually did not care for my dinner. Outside of the restaurant is not appealing, looks like a warehouse surrounded by blacktop. Inside is OK but dark with no windows. The only reason I am writing is the service, rude and crude. I had a runner (I hope she was not our waitress come to our table with some of our orders (table of 9) and yell what she had to serve. No clue of who got what and no etiquette at all. I asked the same person a few minutes later for cheese (it features Italian food) she barked it is on the table. Yes there was one hidden away of sawdust cheese. Excuse me. Food is on 1-10 scale a 5, this is a red sauce joint. Great serve makes the food and experience so much better, this was not to be. Very disappointed The other one inside dining is not 6 ft apart The menus are not washed in between customers, no masks are worn . While I was there waiting to pick up the food someone in the bar area was hacking up a lung. Food was good but probably won't go back till this over don't need to risk my health for their food. Absolutely the best sauce I have had out at an Italian restaurant hands down. This is hard for me to say as I am Italian and make Sunday sauce all the time, I never usually order sauce out but since I Heard such great things about this place I had to Do it. Tastes just like what our family grew up in and makes to this day. I got the tour of Italy and the portion was enough for two more meals. Worst experience I have ever had went about 5 on Thursday party of 4 . Food that we got was so so Service average the girl seemed to be trying hard I am guessing the problem was in the kitchen very slow . I hour 20 minutes in 2 of us got our meals 20 minutes later the third person got his At 2 hours sitting there my dinner never came and the others were anxious to leave . All of the portions are ginormous so you better order something good! We really liked the fried cauliflower and calamari appetizers. Here's a smattering of our sampling. I recently visited Fratelli's for a family dinner. My dad had wanted to try them again since they've done some remodeling, and the location is close to my sister. I thought the location was good. There is ample parking. The renovations are nice - but it doesn't feel like fine dining... it's more like your rich cousin's super nice kitchen. At least that's how it felt. A word of warning on rainy days - the flooring can get a little slippery. So just watch your step especially on the stairs. Here's a run down of the food: We started with Calamari and Stuffed Shrimp for appetizers. While I did enjoy the calamari, the shrimp were "eh" for me. But the calamari with the olives and peppers was a tasty treat for me... tentacles and all. I ordered a side salad with my dinner - oil and vinegar on the side - dressing the old fashioned ways. It was balsalmic vinegar I think. It was good. I sampled my husband's italian wedding soup. For me it could have done with a little more salt, less chicken, and more meatballs. For my main entree, I ordered a half portion of the red clam sauce. This was my mistake. Not only was the portion ridiculously huge, I was not a fan. When I think Red Clam Sauce, I'm expecting more of a manhattan clam chowder flavor. This was too tomatoey-sweet, and I'm just not a fan. I think I should have gone with the Cacciuco - my sister's tasted delicious. I only managed to eat the clams and then sent the rest back without being wrapped to take home. My husband ordered the lasagna special. It was a gigantic portion. But it was swimming in sauce. If there's one this I don't enjoy about lasagna - its a soupy lasagna. But he seemed satisfied. There was literally no room for dessert after the amount of food we had prior to the main course. I suppose that's a really great deal if you consider how much food you can take home and have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the following day. Service was a little slow. Some in our party didn't mind it, but I was about ready to eat my arm off when we got there and getting drinks ordered, then eventually appetizers, and our meals was a little longer than I would have liked. The past few times we have had Fratelli's it has been via takeout. One of my favorite things is their seafood bisque (I don't know if this is offered only on Saturday's or other days as well) but it is AMAZING. I highly suggest dipping their bread into it as as well. For entrees, I typically order the broiled haddock or a special. My husband had their gnocchi with Alfredo sauce last night which he usually loves. This time around he said it was a little bland compared to other times but all in all we still enjoyed our meals. They package everything nicely too so our meal was still warm when we got home which is a plus since it's about a 20 minute drive. read more

Fratellis has always been a great restaurant with good Italian food and a large bar. The remodel with a large addition a few years back really improved the feel of the place. Greens abs beans is one of my fractures as it is gluten free. They also have gluten free pasta available. I did not give it 5 stars because I had one bad experience and I guess I'm still not over it. We went shortly after restaurants opened in 2020. I ordered fish and ended up with food poisoning. The next day I contacted the restaurant and explained what had happened. They assured me they would look into it and get back to me. They never did. I didn't go back for at least a year. I understand that things like this happen sometimes, but what really disappointed me was the way it was handled (or not handled). The girls and I wanted to check out the new bar they put in a while back, drop dead gourgous! The color schemes and rocks were beautiful. Greeted by friendly as can be staff we were seated immediately. I love that they have different rooms for seating and its not just one big open floor. It Gives the building its own unique setting. Drinks were ordered and of course an appetizer. Ive never had fried cauliflower before and they were having a special on it that day so cauliflower it was! The sauces that came with it really brought it together. Sweet, salty and with a little kick! Shortly after our main courses arrived. The lasagna sounded amazing and it wasn't far from it. The sauce wasnt a thin watery sauce that ran off, it actually stuck to the lasagna. Perfect ground beef with a blend of cheeses. Noodles were cooked perfectly as well. Im not 100% sure on the name of the second dish, but I can say my date loved it. Scallops in a wine sauce with vegetables. She enjoyed every bite! Only negative thing I could think of, was certain area's were very poor lit compared to others. Lota of dark paint as well. Would look ten times better with better lighting! (Nov 2023): Well, I gave them a year and tried it again. I really want to like this place because it's got a great vibe and the decor is cozy and pleasant, as are the people working there. But the food is just...LACKING. Not the portions of pasta, mind you. Those are still as ridiculous as ever. You could LITERALLY feed a family of 4 on their side dish of pasta. But flavor...where is it?? I still can't find it. Their homemade pasta in and of itself is delicious, even their gnocchi which I usually find generally mushy and unpleasant is really good, but somehow there's just nothing that pops about their food...it is just bland. And marinara should be fresh and fully of fresh tomato and garlic chunks, but this is overcooked with mushy stewed tomatoes, very little visible garlic and mostly just juice. The red sauce is better, which says a lot because I'm always a marinara person. They revamped the menu layout since last year and it is an improvement, however the fact that you can't get anything for under $25 and then have to choose either a salad OR pasta with it, is mind-blowing. Most people require some sort of veg with a meal (and we're talking about a crappy bagged-lettuce salad with some chick peas, a single pepperoncini, one single cherry tomato and one slice of cucumber the side of a quarter) so, throw that salad in with the meal like literally every other restaurant does! I'm trying to be healthy so I chose the salad, but I left hungry and everyone else left satisfied with enough pasta to take home to feed the rest of the family. If there's a next time (and I only think that's even a possibility because others I'm with choose it), I'll eat my salad at home before we go. So, for $57 for one person, I got 4 slices of eggplant with tasteless, dry breading, a side-salad, one glass of wine and a [still fabulous] cannoli. Does that sound like it's worth it? Well, when I'm eating eggplant parm and thinking, "man, I make this so much better," and paying $7/slice when I know a whole eggplant costs $3 retail, it's an issue for me when I'm not even enjoying the taste to the point that even though I hadn't eaten all day, I didn't even finish it. PS: new this year, there is an upcharge for every item if you don't pay with cash. So bring your cash unless you want to pay their credit card usage fees. (Nov 2022): Used to be our go to for an upgraded meal close by, especially through COVID shutdowns, but no more. It will be more of a maybe-once-a-year thing. Their meal prices and upcharges are ridiculous. $15 for a side of spaghetti?? $5 for a tiny cup of extra sauce?? $26 for mediocre eggplant parmesan and if you want a salad or soup with it that's $3 extra?? Who has ever heard of paying $30 for a meal of eggplant parm anywhere? I realize that all restaurants prices have increased, but of all of the numerous places I've been, this one is the most shocking--and with the least return for your buck. I think the most disappointing part is that the food quality seems to be slipping while the prices are increasing. Don't get me wrong, their food is still good...it's just not GOOOD. I have had better Italian food for better prices within the last month. Not to mention I am a food photographer--not by trade, but I take photos of my food everywhere and it never once occurred to me to snap any pictures of this food. None of our meals were photo-worthy. I am a big believer that you eat with your eyes first and that set it off in the wrong direction right off the bat. Have dined @ Fratelli's for years now, thru various owners and renovations. This week's experience broke me. Ridiculously loud (we were stuck in a back room with a large party) to the point of having to literally scream at each other, and the meal was tremendously uninspiring. 4 meals plus appetizers, and not a thing that any of us enjoyed. The food is still decent but, they've raised their prices and they've lowered their expectations on their meals. The seafood bisque had imitation crab in it. The Sicilian Calamari was good but a major scaled down version of its former self. You no longer get a salad with your meal. You get a choice of Over pasta, side of pasta, salad, vegetable OR a cup of soup. What really got me was the "country fried steak" special at a Upper scale Italian restaurant. I have no problem paying for amazing food but when you raise prices and cheap out on your ingredients I have a problem. I don't think I'll be back and this makes me sad because this was one of my favorites. read more

The waiter Kimberly was the worse server I have ever had in my entire life. 1. One of us ordered a side of pasta and when we received the dish it was a full serving. Before she even touched it she asked the server about it. Instead of apologizing and offering to only charge for the side dish, Kimberly just offer a free dessert and told her to keep the dish. 2. When Kimberly took our order she didn't ask how we would want the check. We assumed this was something she would ask at the end. At the end of our meal she just dropped a check in the middle of the table and walked away. I went to the hostess station and apologized but asked if we could have this separated. Kimberly came back out to our table and rudely stated that this was something we should have stated in the beginning. She continued on by stating that she " hoped we didn't have any plans tonight because it was going to take her a very long time to correct this." I work in customer service so I can understand the frustrations on her end, however, I would NEVER speak to anyway the way she spoke to us. It made us feel extremely uncomfortable. 3. One of the guests at the table was so appalled by her demeanor towards us that they left a smaller tip that normal. Kimberly actually stopped me at the door and gave me the money back and told me that the other guests could keep their lousy tip. There was small service fails in the beginning that were easy to over look (waiting a half hour for your "reserved" table or being rushed through ordering and not taking our drink orders). All of those would mean nothing if Kimberly hadn't been completely unprofessional. As a manager of a customer service industry, you should really take a look at your staff members because we most likely will never return due to this one associates horrible service.
