Made a reservation for our 24th anniversary. Showed up 5 minutes early and were seated immediately. There was some live entertainment in another area, but we were seated in a quiet part of the restaurant. Greeted immediately by our server and given water and asked if we needed time. We said yes, and looked over the menus. Several minutes later we were ready, and the server showed up. Drinks ordered, suggestions for food were requested and given, and our order was taken. Warm bread showed up soon after, and our drinks came quickly after that. The food came out hot and aesthetically pleasing. Last minute Monday night dinner with friends at our go to sure dining experience venue which we've frequented since it first opened. Seated immediately without reservation. It was very lively & busy for a Monday night. We had one of the best waitresses. She was fantastic. The food was not good, not picture worthy. The rolls were old, hard, stale. The Caesar salad was very wet/watery & plain, couldn't taste dressing. The pizza was cold. It is important I note the poor quality of food this time to my fellow diners. I keep giving this place another try hoping it's going to improve, but it just leads to more disappointment. Had takeout from her last night, I was really craving greens and beans so I decided to try Bocaccini's and my friend decided to try the beef short ribs. The greens and beans were said to come with sausage but what they mean is very small bits of sausage within their thick, slimy sauce - I'm thinking they might use more crushed beans for their base then a broth which with so much leaves a gritty texture and taste in your mouth. Ok for about three bites, at the most. So disappointed. My friend had the short ribs that came as a really big mess piled on top of each other (ribs, potatoes, asparagus) but the taste was decent they said. Overall, expensive and not worth it. My wife and I visited Bicaccini's to celebrate a special occasion and were very happy with the choice. A delightful establishment in an otherwise unimpressive mall. Nice ambiance, great food and a delightful server. The chicken parm was something special... Unique seasoning that was absolutely delicious and more cheese than I've ever seen on this dish... Can't wait to have it again! The only downside was that they seem to be set up for groups of four or more. Our table for two was kind of plopped in an empty spot near the server station and gave us the impression that it was an afterthought... A little uncomfortable. So we went to Bocaccini's last night for an early dinner. I've been there before and there were no complaints from me then and certainly not last night either. We walked in without reservations. We got lucky because it was early and the hostess seated us at a table in the back and gave us our menus and then the waitress came over her name was Jessie and we placed our drink orders I got the 9oz Moscato which was really good and we also got ice water with Lemon. And then she came back with our drinks and we placed our food order. He got the Mahi Mahi with risotto that had squash in it. The risotto was delicious I had to taste test that. And I got the Arancini ( vegetarian) over penne pasta which was also delicious. And then we got dessert which was the crustless chocolate torte with raspberry sauce that was really good too. So all in all it was a very nice visit and then we went to the bar and had a drink each which was nice too. read more

We held my mom's 70th birthday party yesterday at Bocaccini's and it was perfect!!! I have no complaints! They guided me every step of the way with planning. So many excellent options for food, drinks, desserts. They thought of everything! I didn't have to worry about forgetting anything. The day of everyone was so nice, so on top of everything, kept the party moving so I didn't have to worry and could just enjoy! We had a gluten free guest and they were very accommodating! Our first time here with some friends. We had a reservation but our table was not yet ready when we arrived so we found a spot at the bar. We had drinks and our table was ready in about 10 minutes. Food was very mediocre and not worth the price, the bread was bad, calamari was more breading then squid, the Alfredo was basically a bowl of soup and is definitely not worth the price, service was pretty slow but the server we had was pretty good, however the inside and ambiance was decent but I do not recommend it. read more

My coworker and I selected this place at random, and what a great find! Bocaccinis is located in a shopping plaza. The dress code was pretty relaxed (I had on sneakers), but this place is versatile enough for a first date, business dinner, etc. It was dimly lit and had great music playing. We were able to sit without a reservation and our server immediately took our drink orders. We had calamari for the appetizer, spicy seafood pasta for one entree, and a baked chicken dish with pasta and artichokes for the other entree. The portions were huge and the food was so fresh. You could taste the olive oil and fresh garlic throughout each bite! The bread basket was a little stale, but the other items and the great service made up for that. I thought this place was really great! visiting from out of town and appreciated a great outdoor patio to enjoy the nice weather! the service was absolutely amazing - our waitress was AMAZING and so attentive for our big table of almost 10! I recommend getting the Sicilian calamari, arancini, and the brussels sprouts!!! all super yummy apps to start off with - also their bread and butter is DELICIOUS. still thinking about that. for the mains, I tried the herb crusted pork w the squash ravioli, shrimp and lobster risotto, and the spaghetti w meatball and sausage. I would 100% recommended the first two!! The pork was delicious with the ravioli and the risotto came with massive shrimp! Acoustics aren't great, there was a large raucous group in the middle of the dining room that mercifully left a little while after we sat down. The main issues we experienced were with service. Our salads and entrees came out at the exact same time. The appetizer dish was never cleared from the table. We had a bottle of wine and after the initial pour the waiter never came back to refill, same with the water. During dessert they were rearranging the tables presumably for the next day which isn't appropriate IMO with multiple groups of diners still in the restaurant. Entrees were a good size and enjoyed, appetizer not warm enough, cappuccino cake excellent. Nicely decorated in a fall theme with fresh mum, pumpkins etc. Option to sit outdoors if you'd like. Would probably give it another try when visiting our son at Fisher but would hope they'll work on the little things because those matter. read more

We are regulars here, at least twice a month. Food, service and atmosphere are excellent. Last night we went at 5:30, they have a happy hour from 4-6 with a special bar menu that is wonderful and prices are practically half of normal prices. I had to post because I tried the Greens and beans ($9) and a spinach pizza ($11). Both were delicious but the Greens were superb, definitely original and like nothing I have had before. Music Mondays are always busy but we had a nice table on the patio close to the music. Staff is wonderful and the owner is usually on premises helping. Do yourself a favor and give them a short. Went to Bocaccini's because friends wanted to see a musician playing there. I usually avoid Italian food due to my intolerance to onions and garlic but my friends were going so I decided to go along. I let the waiter know about my issue as soon as I was seated and the way this restaurant handled it was wonderful. After a few failed attempts on my own to choose a suitable entree the waiter called the manager over and she quickly figured out the perfect solution. Shrimp sautéed in butter, olive oil and white wine served over pasta with some vegetables mixed in. It was perfect. The friend's meals were delicious as well. This was a pleasant surprise as I didn't see a kids menu on their website & my daughter was super happy she had something to color. Bread was free & butter was great as it was spreadable. I wish the bread was warm. My husband had a glass of wine, water for me & lemonade for my daughter. My daughter had the kids pasta with butter & cheese. Unfortunately since they drenched it in so much butter she didn't really enjoy it. We will have to ask for light butter next time. My husband had the lobster ravioli special which was hearty & filling. The shrimp were huge. I had the brussel sprout pizza without the pancetta. It was a great combination but wish the brussel sprouts were crispy. We had the peanut butter pie for dessert but they don't make their own desserts which didn't allow for my daughter just to get some whipped cream. When we were seated we walked by a few doors that were proppd open. It was low 50s outside, in my opinion if it's too cold for your patio seating to be open, it's too cold for your doors to be opened. I mentioned to the server that I moved my seat because of the colds draft. I was a parry of 5 seated at a table of 6, so I was in essence I was also sitting by myself. I moved a chair to the end, they filled the table behind me. The waitress asked me to move my chair back because they had now shut the doors. I declined, she said her manager wanted me to move. So over came the manager stating that I had to move back to the table by myself and they don't want other diners looking at my back (my back was not naked, nor did my clothing have an obscene message, it was a flowered shirt. I was told they arrange their tables so no one is look at anyone's back. I explained that if I sit by myself I cannot engage in conversation, and I was fine where I was, she was taken aback and walked away. I apologized to the table by us, and they said that it's no issue for me sitting there. Ridiculous, anywhere you sit you're looking at someone's back. Unfortunately the meals came and we've enjoyed it here before. The Cesar salad dressing was runny, the pizza dough seems to have gotten thinner. We love Boccacini's! We go every few months with friends. Food is always delicious and the service is always terrific. This place has my favorite dish in Rochester: Salmon fra Diavalo, perfectly cooked salmon fillet, with a nicely spicy, light tomato sauce, over a huge pile of Asiago risotto. So yummy. My fav!
