The place went through a complete renovation from the customer end. I don't know about the kitchen. The place was a dump before and looks nice now. New traffic pattern. Bar area is such a relief from before. I would recommend the half price happy hour! The food is over priced. Great night out to dinner. We've been coming here for years but not since the remodel. How beautiful it is! The party room was packed while we ate dinner and even though we were seated very close, we never heard them. The noise level for the whole place was low for a Saturday night with every table filled! Disappointing - My wife and I have eaten here several times and loved it. We took our family back and this time we felt the quality has went down. The food was underwhelming. We got Caesar salad and we sent it back no flavor and it was very watery really wet. The butternut ravioli was very oily to the point my wife had to angle it to get the ravioli out of the puddle of oil. The Chicken Limone was also vey oily. Went here on 2/1 for my wife's B-day and it was just, ok. Here's what worked and what didn't. We arrived and were seated quickly. Our server was friendly, timely and very good. The restaurant is very clean, the decor is upscale and the ambience is nice. In fact, the decor was a little fancier than you would expect in an Italian bistro. The salad offerings were limited with a basic Italian and a crumbly blue, which we ordered and was good. The portion size of the dinners was good and the dishes were cooked fine. What didn't work was the garlic bread was small (golf ball sized), cold and served with garlic butter. The sauces (if you look at the pics) you will notice there is a modest amount of sauce in each dish and is very watered down. We ordered Papa Joes Special (spaghetti & meatballs), Penne Vodka and Chicken Parm. The meatballs were on the smaller size, very light and tasted decent as did the chicken. The taste of the sauces was ok, and were a bit on the sweeter side with a fair amount of garlic. Look at the pic of the penne with vodka sauce. It should appear like a tomato-based sauce thats softened with a splash of heavy cream that gives the sauce a nice reddish-orange color. You can't even see or taste vodka sauce in the dish like the chicken parm. The pricing is a bit on the higher side at $18-$21. Italian bistros should be a place where you'll find medium-priced fare and casual service usually in a quaint setting. Bocaccini's tries to be a more upscale Italian restaurant and the naming of the foods and presentation of the dishes is decent but the taste and pricing is average. Ultimately, we decided that our experience and food was not good enough to encourage us to come back. Since Italian cuisine is our family favorite, we decided to try other restaurants for our next Italian dinner out. read more

I think they should change their happy hour as it doesn't serve everyone...as they designation certain drinks are happy hour! The food is delicious and we've never had a bad meal. Ordered a chicken parm pasta which had good breading on the chicken (not dry) and and proper amount of sauce and cheese (not a mess). The woman at the bar who served our dinners was friendly, helpful, and attentive. All the service people were very nice. Let's keep it simple. The service was excellent, considering our server had our 6 plus a table of 12 to take care of. The daughter's calamari was to die for, my son in law's veal dishmade him smile and the kids meals were perfect. I'm partial to eggplant parm, so I asked our server about their eggplant parm. She said it was excellent. NOT TRUE. It was the worst excuse for that dish I've ever experienced, anywhere. The eggplant was under-cooked and tough, with almost no sauce. Bad choice. And my partner's minestrone soup was a poor excuse for that name. More like thick tomato sauce with a few veggies immersed. No fault of the server, on both accounts, except that she had touted both dishes. We paid the bill, and when we were leaving, I took her aside and mentioned the poor quality of the eggplant dish. That's when she broke the news to me: other customers had complained about the parm dish. So, why tell me it was good??? We sat at the bar. They are under construction but it wasn't a big deal. The server/bartender took a minute to warm up to us- but she did get friendlier eventually! We got the calamari- huge portion. For dinner we got the surf and turf, it was good but the Brussels sprouts were covered in cheese and that was not indicated in the menu so that was disappointing and there were too busy to care to send them back. Also because the potions are so generous it was smothered in onions and it just made the dish so heavy and oily and although I am sure many people would enjoy that I was trying to behave myself with ordering a double protein and vegetable dish but it was nothing like that. The flavors were there of course and I would potentially order it again but with a lot more modifications. My boyfriend ordered the burger and loved it. This was the worst Italian food I've ever had in my 25 years on this earth. I got the pasta marinara and somehow even that was bad. I took my mom here for Mother's Day and she had to send her food back. I'm not kidding when I say this, but I'd literally rather have an 8th grader in a school cooking class make me my pasta dinner. We stopped for lunch at Bocaccini's this afternoon. I have to say that this was undoubtedly the best meal I have ever eaten out. The waitress was wonderful. The rolls with garlic butter were to die for but our meals were out of this world. I had the Chicken Parmesan and the other 3 in our party had Chicken Alfredo. We went here for family graduation celebration and there was about 15 of us. The food was delicious. I had spaghetti and meatballs and it was a good size portion. The service was very good. Lots of drinks to chose from. Menu is a good size. My only complaint is we sat by the fireplace in the back and it was very dark but other then that it was good. So for whatever reason, I found myself driving around in Palmyra and I stumbled upon this elegant restaurant, Bocaccini's, and when I tell you my experience today was absolutely divine, I am not exaggerating. Today, I was graced with the welcoming smile of the manager, Mia. She was tending the bar and I was happy to see that her and the rest of the staff (hostess, waitresses, and cooks) were taking necessary precautions to keep us safe. Everyone was wearing a mask and everyone was sanitizing. I sat at one of the booths in front of the bar and was impressed with how hospitable and genuine servers Kelly and Penny were. I've been to my fair share of restaurant and I know for sure that good waitstaff is hard to come by. In my brief conversations with the servers I know that Kelly is as loyal to Bocaccini's as she is to her Ohio State Buckeyes and Penny is always locked and loaded with punchlines guaranteed to have you holding your belly in laughter. Now, when it comes to the food, Bocaccini's nails it! Unfortunately, I was too busy inhaling my food to take a picture of it. Alternatively, I did snag a photo of my desert! This Peanut Butter Pie was absolutely amazing. This aesthetic desert was rich and as you can see well prepared by the aforementioned manager, Mia. We went here for lunch on a weekday. We sat outside which was nice for an upstate NY warm weather day. Our food was tasty, the wood fired pizzas are flavorful and large! The pasta dishes were plentiful and also had a great amount of flavor. The main fail was the service- we were one of three tables there at lunch and the service was very slow! I don't know if the kitchen was behind somehow or if the waitress just didn't have any sense of urgency with our orders... but it was quite a wait for having little customers in the place.
