Everytime I am in Rochester, I always stop at Guido's! The inside is a little small and wait times can be long, but the food definatley make up for it. If you want authentic Italian food while supporting a local business, this is the place for you.

So after all of these years of passing this place on the way to Rubinos (across the street) I finally got to visit. I went with a friend of mine who's been a few times. Where you park they have signs stating "Entrance" be advised when you go in an out about "Watch the step" When you come in you see a bar area and everyone who is in the area kind of looks at you quizzically "like why are you here" that's the vibe I got. We finally see someone and they seat us, I went to hang my coat. As others have said it needs a refresh and it a small bustling restaurant. We arrived before 5 pm and maybe about 10 minutes in it got crowded. We got a bottle of wine "oddly enough they as far as I could see no Italian wines. Than we ordered the fried calamari which was delicious and perfectly cooked. It came with cocktail sauce and a red sauce kind of thing. Yes the brought out the bread and butter it was good. We both ordered the Chicken Tiffany to give you an idea it's not Chicken French but it's covered with sauce. We both got angel hair pasta with it. Now when this arrived I was like WTH is this. The whole plate is covered with this cream sauce and you can't see anything else. Granted a slight plating might make this look less than gloopy. It was rather tasty and I liked the artichokes as well. I wished a had a bit more of those. We both took it home. In all honesty if you leave here hungry I don't understand. The portions are generous. I dessert my friend had an espresso and I had a snifter of Fragelluco Service was pleasant and efficient and anyone else working here was nice. They have a dedicated lot, I'll visit again and try something else. I give it about 3.75 outta 5

Old-school Italian all the way! From the small, homey atmosphere to the 'everyone's family' vibe to the impeccable service... and who can't forget Frank who comes to every table! Food was phenomenal. Cannoli's are piped fresh with a crispy shell. The arancini balls are do e right with peas and pancetta. The ribeye was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Drinks weren't balanced very well but everything else was superb. Check it out!

Guidos is the hidden gem you search for in every town. Luckily a friend gave us the tip to visit during the PGA championship. Our party all loved the atmosphere, the team and most importantly the food. All dishes were prepared perfectly and I especially loved the red sauce on my veal Parm

Greens and Beans with Gnocchi. My apologies for the poor lighting in my picture, it tasted much better than it looks!

Almost two years ago, I came for dinner to celebrate finding the perfect house in the neighborhood. I finally sold my old house, and to celebrate, naturally, we had to go to Guido's Pasta Villa! It was very busy, even at 5:30 on a Wednesday, but we were seated promptly, despite not having a reservation. Their phone message states that they take reservations for parties of 5 or more (we had 3). We started with the amazing calamari scampi...the best calamari in Rochester! My partner had the Cacciuco, a seafood medley in a garlic butter, served over pasta. I had the Veal Tiffany, which was absolutely delicious. And my Mother had the Greens & Beans with sausage, always a great choice! We ended the meal with their house-made spumoni ice cream, which was amazing. Always a great experience here, with the most friendly and helpful service! It is a small place, and can get a little noisy when it is busy, but I feel that adds to the charm! Everyone knows everyone there...it's like an Italian American version of Cheers! Definitely my favorite old-school Italian American restaurant in Rochester. I highly recommend it!

Seafood Fra Diavolo is top tier 10/10. It is a bit pricey but its honestly worth it, I know people that attend every week!

The hostess and our server knew it was our anniversary from the reservation and wished us a happy anniversary right away. There was even a beautiful "Happy Anniversary" sign waiting for us on the table. The owner also stopped by personally to wish us a happy anniversary, and they surprised us with two small glasses of complimentary champagne. It was such a lovely way to start the evening. We ordered the panzanella salad, street corn, and a large, shareable ribeye with potatoes. Everything was superb--truly excellent. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was romantic and low-key, and the entire experience was outstanding. They struck the perfect balance of making us feel celebrated without being over the top. For dessert, we had the funfetti cake, which was absolutely divine. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our evening and can't wait to go back to Angelina's!

I would've had ten more... The service was fast and friendly. Our server offered up various suggestions of house favorites. The ambiance was sleek with leather or leather-like chairs, wood tables and clean lines. The plates matched the decor as well. I'd consider coming back and trying some more from their summer menu. I look forward to trying from the fall and winter menus as well. I'll definitely be trying a dessert next time. Their s'mores one and funfetti cake both sounded delicious. I was too full from the appetizers and dinner to attempt a third course.

We were quoted about a 40-minute wait for a table, but told bar seating might open up sooner (around 30 minutes). They took my number and we stepped outside to take a walk around the block while we waited. We ended up getting a text about the bar seat availability in about 15 minutes. Once we got seated at the bar, things turned around quickly. The space has a really cozy, intimate vibe with dim lighting, warm atmosphere and overall it feels thoughtfully put together. We ordered hot toddies to drink, which were perfect for the weather, and for food we got the Japanese sweet potatoes and the cavolo nero pesto. Both dishes were incredibly delicious - flavorful and well-balanced. Just be prepared for a wait (and maybe stay nearby instead of wandering off), but once you're in, it's a great experience!

They sent me a Resy review the next day to fill out yet they don't take reservations! We tried two of the daily specials, the potatoes were good but I could make these at home. The spicy lettuces was wonderful with great flavor, was I worried about the lettuce 'yes' but I had no issues the next few days so it's fine! The pasta as usual was great, we also tried the chicken which came out last jeez, it could have been dessert it was that late. We took it to go along with a piece of the chocolate olive oil cake which was fantastic! First time sitting in the lower back room, I'm thankful we did not have to walk up & down the stairs to the upper dining room.

We started with a delicious bottle of wine followed by our choice of appetizer, salad and entree. Each choice was delicious( artichoke French, Caesar salad, chicken French and shrimp scampi. We were greeted by the hostess, that I believe was either the owner or part manager of the restaurant. She sat us down and gave us menus (didn't mention the specials) and then proceeded to go and turn on all of the Christmas decorations in the restaurant and tell us about her deals when purchasing all of them. Finally upon her return the waitress took our drink orders and when I asked she gave us the listing of specials for the evening. My niece had a specialty mocktail that was described as having a "hint" of lavender- turns out the other items were done with a hint and all my niece (and I tasted) was the strong presence of lavender. For appetizers we ordered fried calamari that came with the typical red sauce- the fried calamari was good, but nothing special. We also ordered the lamp lollipops for an additional app and let me just say- they were the BEST part about our dinner! Perfectly cooked to medium rare and seasoned and grilled to perfection. It was my neices first time trying them and she said she couldn't wait to have them again. For our main dishes, my niece had the penne vodka- which was "okay" but really lacked on favor, nothing really special about it. I honestly think she makes it better at home. For my entree I had the Salmon- which came with a very thick strawberry sauce over the top of it. My fish was cooked perfectly and tasted great- without the thick "strawberry like" sauce over the top of it (I ended up scraping it off of the fish. I also wasn't a fan of the black rice-it had a very off putting smell and after having my first taste decided one bite was enough.
