Had I gone off of the horrible reviews on here about the "decor" and the cleanliness of the building, I never would have eaten at Joey's. Several of my friends told me I should try it as it was their favorite pizza place EVER! I called in an order and went to go pick it up. I was a little early so my order wasn't quite ready yet. A few minutes later, a nice employee comes from behind the counter to tell me that they made a mistake with one of my pizzas but said another one was going into the oven right away. He said I could take the "wrong" pizza as well free of charge... I said sure that's great! Who wouldn't turn down a free pizza, right?! The pizza was very very good. My hubby is very picky about his pizza. The crust MUST be crispy and this is the first place in a long time that we've tried that he really enjoyed! Now, about the complaints others voiced about the cleanliness and the decor in the dining room. Every single table was clean and tidy. There were also complaints about the staff being rude. Not my experience for sure - everyone was very pleasant!! Yes, it is an old building but it was very clean. I would definitely eat at Joey's again! read more

If you ever want pizza from your childhood, this is the place to go. Such amazing food. The crust is perfect and service was wonderful.

The atmosphere was disgusting dirty. Every table was just caked on nastiness. I asked if they could wipe down a table for us. 5 people working and ours was the only order and our party of 5 the only ones there. The girl looked at me grabbed a disgusting rag from the food prep area and tossed it at me "saying u want it clean do it yourself, I don't get paid enough to clean this dump". I was shocked. The kids and I sat, ate and all but ran out trying to touch as little as possible. I have to admit the pizza is not half bad. Just be prepared to know there is a hole in the wall find and then there is this dump!!! read more

I would have given this place 5 stars if the restaurant was better taken care of. It is really run down. I went in there once after it had rained, and the floors were flooded under a lot of the tables. With that being said, the pizza is amazing. They do warn you that their pizza comes with little sauce and a lot of cheese (which is what I happen to prefer), so just be aware of that. read more

Apparently a "new" standard ingredient for pizza is HAIR!! We ordered a large order and found "FOUR" long hairs in all separate pizzas and in a salad. When we took the hairs up to the counter, they didn't seem too concerned! I demanded my money back and we all left and went someplace else to eat. NEVER again will any of our large group eat there again. Service was rude. read more

Went for our first time today to take some pizza home and give it a try.. I've heard both good and bad things.. as one does about any single place you look into. I Don't buy into reviews, I like to find out for myself, as I know every person has their own preferences. I will be back, the place is aged, and I found that comfortable feeling, and I loved the fact that there weren't televisions in every corner and music blaring so you can't hear yourself think. Old fashioned, good pizza and great service. My only concern was for the one guy who appeared to be working and the fact that there were two tables cluttered with after party dishes that he couldn't get to because he was busy taking orders and cooking. Bravo for him! Just felt like he could use some help. We got our pizza in great time, and we enjoyed it fully. Keep doing what you're doing. read more

We had dinner here tonight. It wasn't greasy. There wasn't much sauce but that is how we like our pizza. There was a lot of cheese and a good amount of toppings. It was good. We will be back again. I have to say that I was surprised that it was good. I didn't expect it to be. read more

Went to Joey's for the first time last night and the pizza is fantastic. The ambiance is pure "dank". But who cares about the ambiance when other pizza joints of this caliber are quite dank as well. The pepperoni pizza was the best I had in years. They place the pepperoni on top of the cheese without covering it with more cheese which allows the pepperoni on top to become crisp. The vegetarian pizza was delicious and had thick slices of tomato added on top when the pizza came out. I would recommend Joey's to anyone wanting great tasting pizza. I will say that the interior is a little skeezy with buckets catching rain water and if this bothers you just order it to go. read more

I love going on their letter day, when my last name matches and I can get pizzas at a good deal. The pizza is good- I love the cheese and the little flippy pepperonis. The crust can be a little too crunchy, but not too bad. The inside decor has definitely aged, but the seating is nice. Service is friendly and they help with questions when you have them. My only complaints are that they close on mondays, that the parking lot is small, and that, if they didn't have a sign like they do, you almost couldn't tell it was a restaurant. Good pizza, though, especially if you're in the mood for a quick meal. read more

You can say what you want about the interior 'decor' of this place. Or, the fact that they have the same seats that they did 45 years ago. They could also do a better job of keeping the tables clean. All that aside, they have fabulous pizza. I grew up with Joey's, moved away and visited Joey's, and now live here and still enjoy it. It's damn tasty. Sure, probably could use to be a bit cleaner but obviously they pass their Sanitation test or they would be closed. Also, they cook their Pizza at nearly 500 degrees in their ovens.....that would kill anything that might make you sick. Seriously, McDonalds make me sick EVERY time I eat there....Joey's NEVER has. Stopped in to visit friends and stopped here for some pizza. It was "D" day and that means the pizza was 1/2 off a pepperoni or hawaiian! (If your last name starts with whatever the letter of the date is, it's 1/2 off in other words, 1st day of the month is A, 2nd is B, 3rd is C etc... - just be prepared to show your ID). Love this pizza for it's thin crust and easy on the sauce. The Canadian bacon was savory and full of flavor, pepperoni, spicy and the combo was loaded! Had a great time! Plenty left over for breakfast as we've become accustomed to large pizzas being much smaller than the ones served at Joey's. read more

This place has been here forever. After many years I'm just now trying their pizza. Had combination and it was good. They use very little sauce and cook the bottom to a crisp. I would probably recommend asking for extra sauce, but still an excellent pizza (for Oregon standards) left using the standard amount. Here is the bottom line. If you want pizza and are tired of all the same local options. Joeys is a nice change of pace. 3-star rating would have been 3.5-4 if the price was a tiny bit lower, and I hadn't had to walk up and ask for so many things (box, parm, fork, glass). I love Joey's, letter night is awesome! I do wish they had a website & delivery would be amazing, but oh well. LOTS of cheese, very light sauce (they're not kidding on the posted sign) generous toppings & a crisp crust. I doubt that it is made in house, but with loads of flavor on top it's good. If you're going to dine in... is it the classiest of joints, no... In fact I don't think they've done any kind of decor update probably in the last 20 years +. I'm not sure I care. It's a great pie for the price. It beats some of those other places that charge too much for a slapped together pizza where the cheese is barely there & doesn't reach the edges. Well folks, after writing this I will need to pick up the phone and call Joey's to place my order because now I can't stop thinking about it! People recommended this place to us, so we decided to go one night. Paid 46 bucks for two "giant" pizzas. One was just pineapple and olives and the other was pineapple, olives and sausage. We waited 45 minutes, which would have been fine if the pizza didn't taste worse than Dominoes. It was so hard it cut my mouth, there was no sauce, it was super salty with little real flavor. The pizza that was supposed to have sausage on it had so little we couldn't tell the difference between the two. I'd rather eat Little Caesars. Worst pizza place ever. read more

I only wish that Joey's was closer to where I live now, because it still makes the same great pizza that I remember it making when I was a kid. Joey's still has the old style pizza ovens that produce a crisp light crust, and their sauce and toppings are top notch too. Been a long time resident and "FORMER" Long time customer. Tonight was the most bizzar expierence ever!! The building is old and the staff is young but I continued to come back for great pizza (as long as you order is clear and ask for extra sauce.). Tonight we walked in and tables and floors were flooded, buckets everywhere to catch rainwater leaking from ceiling. The seats were cloth booth style and wet as could be. Our order was simple, a salad and two small pizzas with a pitcher of beer. After 40 mins and three tables being served large pizzas that came in after us, my boyfriend went to check on the order. To our suprise it was sitting on their counter ready to be served. When asked we were told the oven went cold and they he to wait for it to be reheated. I advised them I still had not received the salad either. This is when it went sidewides the man became very rude and started freaking out. Mind you I also ordered a second bevarage and was also waiting to be served. He became so rude and instant that I go sit down and he would bring my salad. When I asked him why he was being rude to me he really became aggressive. Another customer came up to advise she too had to ask for her order but mentioned that they came in after us and was leaving, she was very concerned over thier behavior. The man than kicked us out after he through a fit. We had to ask for a refund on the beverage and salad that still was not served. The kid bussing tables and cleaning provided boxes for our pizza while the man was screaming and pacing around while yelling for us to leave as he was calling the police. There was also an employee "vapping", in the office next to the kitchen filling it with smoke of God knows what!. Would leave negitive stars if possible. Lost a customer for life! SMH! read more

Worst experience ever! The pizza is poor quality, overly greasy, with WAY too much nasty cheese. The sauce is flavorless and the pepperoni low grade. My husband and I both took one bite and decided to return it. For 16 dollars a medium pepperoni pizza needs to be a lot better than that. When he went into return the pie, the employees were incredibly rude and straight out obnoxious. They yelled at my husband that they were glad they didn't get customers like us normally and proceeded to slam the returned money on the counter and wave the tip we had left for them back in our faces. I have never before been so horrified by the actions of restaurant employees! STAY AWAY from this place! They do NOT deserve the support of the local community when they are so incapable of treating that community in a decent and respectful manor. read more

After hearing about the "best pizza in the area" for a year or more, I made the long drive here last night. Pizza menu looked close to correct (for a New Yorker like myself). Ordered a half and half of something or another to eat there. Sat down (after swapping out our dirty glasses for clean) wait inform our pizza to arrive. After deep contemplation and discussion with the mrs we decided that touching the table and anything else inside before eating pizza with our hands made the experience less than palatable. We decided to take ours to go. Got home, immediately washed to our shoulders, and began to indulge in "the best pizza in the area". This pizza is on par with Abby's (my opinion the worst pizza ever). I know being from New York pizza has a high bar, but next time I'll order dominos, and that says it all. Won't be back, and I might suggest a deep scrub and disinfect. Wife and I actually searched for the cleanest table before sitting and still lost arm hair to the tacky gunk on the table. I am sure I wasn't the first yesterday to do so. I read the review before going, and came back to say, R U KIDDING? Tasteless frozen crust. They have a sign that clearly states they don't use much sauce, and well you can barely see it. I ordered pepperoni based on the reviews and it was good, except for all the burned pieces. The tip jar was empty and I understand why. Yes Joey's is a cold dark hole in the wall but the pizza is in my opinion the best in the world. There is a sign at the counter that explains exactly what their pizza is here is what it says. Our pizza is served on a cracker thin crust with very little sauce and lots of cheese. You know exactly what you are getting it is one of those places you either love or hate more people love it than hate it they have been in business for more than 30 years. They have a letter day corresponding to the day of the month 1st is A 2nd B and so on if it is you letter you get a giant pepperoni or Hawaiian 1/2 off which is $10-$11their soda fountain is $1 for unlimited trips so you can go and feed your entire family for about $15 we have seven people in my family we order both pizzas and sodas and it is $22 you cant beat that even at he golden arches with just burgers we spend $20 Joeys is a lot better a must have at least once in your life. read more
