I read a spectacular review at this restaurant saying that they had authentic hawaii food, and that everyone should visit this place. So I decided to go with my brother and sister. I decided to get coconut shrimp, my sister got the tofu, and my brother got the shrimp pancit with noodles. My meal was $16, and I believe it was highly overpriced. My food looked and tasted like the entree sold at my local chinese buffet. The Tofu Stir-fry that my sister ordered was $12 and according to her, the tofu was very undercooked and that it tasted bad in general. Lastly, my brother ordered the Shrimp Pancit for $13 and while it tasted good, the food was a very small portion and only contained three pieces of shrimp. read more

This place was a (pleasant) surprise. We were staying at the Westin Kaanapali, and wanted a casual, walkable option. We read the yelp reviews and walked over to Whalers Village. Ambience: nothing special, it looks like a fast food option. But the food was among the best we had. Mahi tacos, coconut shrimp, even the French fries were really well done. You could tell they were made with fresh ingredients, and wasted no time at the kitchen before being served. They have a sweet sriracha that tastes like honey mustard with a twist. So it doesn't have an ocean view. But it also doesn't have a crazy price tag, and you can bring it back to your ocean view room or take it to the beach yourself. The food is worth it. read more

Started with a small order of brussel sprouts (you can ask specifically for a small, it's $5) that were pan fried and drizzled in creamy caesar/mayo-like dressing & sprinkled with Parmesan (sounds weird, but it's GOOD). Also had the beef shortribs which are tender & sweet and perfectly topped with their own Hawaiian ginger-chimichurri-esque sauce. Easily the best place to eat in the food court. read more

Don't let the location (in the food court of the lower level @ Whaler's Village) fool you. This place competes with the likes of Hula Grill and Leilani's when it comes to food (and will save you a TON of money). We came back FOUR times during our one week stay in Ka'anapali. It's also great for kids because it's a relaxed atmosphere and they have a nice seating area. Things to try: -Fried Brussel Sprouts: some of the best I've ever had, they come with Caesar dressing on them, so if that's too overpowering, I suggest getting it on the side - Mac & Cheese: restaurant-level quality, we ordered it for our daughter and ended up eating most of it - Poke Bowl: perfectly balanced and delicious And anything else on the menu... Ehh, it's located inside a mall, quality tasted like mall food. A little overpriced in my opinion. I got the Huli Huli Chicken and the portion was big. I had to take some home with me. My Mom and Aunt got the Garlic Shrimp and were both disappointed by the size of the shrimp and the amount they give. The flavor was just OK too. My sister's poke bowls were a little on the small side as well for the price they charged. I had no idea this was a restaurant in a food court. Still tried it out due to the reviews. There were 5 of us and the girl behind the counter was rude. The lady in front of us asked if we knew where to order, we didn't. Finally she got the girls attention from her phone where she took her order. When we ordered she was just plain rude and when our food came out half the order was ready and sat on the counter behind her while she made us wait for everything which was at least 5 min. Odd. Really love this place. I had the Kalbi Beef braised short rib and it was nothing short of incredible. Don't be thrown off by the fact that you have to walk through a food court to get to it and that it's run a lot like a fast food joint. Went here for a late lunch bc it was close to the resort. This place is located in the food court in Whalers Village so if you're at any of the resorts near there, it's faster to walk. If you do drive, the restaurant will validate. We got the keiki chicken katsu ($6) and subbed fries for the rice for $1 more. We also got the grilled Ono tacos (3/$11) and the garlic shrimp plate. Everything was really good - the katsu was crispy but not greasy, the tacos were filling and had a yummy slightly sweet sauce on them, and the garlic shrimp plate was spot on (broccoli and cauliflower steamed just right, good amount of rice, shrimp grilled perfectly and a REALLY good garlic sauce). If I went back, I'd probably order the same menu again but the garlic shrimp was really expensive for a mall and for what you got - just 5 shrimp and I think it was $17. It was way cheaper than what you'd pay at any of the resorts but I think the tacos were a much better value. We paid the same for this meal as we did for the one at Maui Fish Market where we got a couple of huge Baja fish tacos, a fish burrito, a grilled cheese sandwich, and fresh ahi poke. We may return again if we don't wanti to drive somewhere to eat. read more

We were staying in Ka'anapali, and the girls didn't want to head out one night, so I wandered here to pick up some diner for myself. I ordered 2 tacos and they were nice and fresh, tasty, and filling. A small side dish, really anything, would have made for a nice accompaniment, but the tacos themselves were good. If you are going for fast food in a food court when you are on Maui, at least go to a place like this instead of the (more crowded) Subway a stall or two over. This place is a hit or miss! I come here for breakfast about 2 times a week after a cardio class and order the same thing; The Shrimp and Avocado Omelette. Don't get me wrong the flavors are good but the presentation is very inconsistent. I may have gotten it presentable once or twice other then that it tends to look like a scramble more then a omelette. Was a little annoyed today with their service since I was the second one to put in a order and the 2 customers after me got their plates first and it took them 20 mins for my omelette to be made just for it to look thrown together. A little disappointed with their service as they never really apologized about the wait and to wait that long for it to look like a mess is unacceptable. They seemed annoyed at me for asking about the status of my order rather then just giving me an update. I wouldn't have minded waiting if they took a little more care on presentation. I love Joey's Kitchen! As a Filipino in Arizona, there aren't any Filipino restaurants in my city. Joey's is located right next to my hotel in Ka'anapali Beach so it was a nice, short walk. I've had the Breakfast Platter (Spam, Portuguese sausage, scrambled eggs and white rice) and Loco Moco both twice during my visit . Pork lumpia and pork adobo fried rice was on point.
