I and my family ate at Jodi's last summer and the meal was poor. The hot dog was burnt, and my young son refused to eat it. The salad was made with leftovers and the decor inside was something from 1950. Not attractive place at all. Yesterday my friend in Pittsburgh ordered and when the pickup was opened the food was not as advertised at all. He called to complain and was told he would be given credit. This is about my fifth visit. Each time food came out promptly, hot, and tasty. Wait staff is friendly, very competent (I have additions and deletions to the menu item), all orders come out as ordered. Last visit had the English omelet, rye toast, turkey sausage patties. I should've got something else as the quantity of food shot my intake for the morning. All delicious. Shockingly the turkey patties were not dry as most places are. This is mainly a place for neighborhood regulars, especially since Drew's closed down a few years ago. My friends and I can tell that the offerings at Jodi B's have improved since the competition went away... almost as if Jodi B's saw that they had a new niche to fill. The cod is good, the salads are generous (although often crammed into a cereal bowl), the specials always arrive fast, and the dessert case is one of those rotating glass cases with pieces of pie and cake. There would be a slight 'diner' vibe, but the dining room is a little larger than that. Last time I ate there, the mashed potatoes were the unlikely star. There were a few lumps here and there -- that's a good thing. Not from a box, these mashed potatoes. Folks are friendly. If down-to-earth is your thing, Jodi B's is your place. Yes, the decor is old, but clean. Prices are reasonable. The attached bar is somewhat more modern and lively, and offers the same menu. Anyway. This is where I ate the day my Dad died. Easy, slow-paced, a little quiet, predictable. Unfussy. The opposite of stress. Go here not for adventure, but for comfort. Sometimes I wish it were open late one day a week. I give it 4.5 due to the worn decor, but a general sense of goodwill makes me round that figure up, not down. Five stars it is. read more

Usually I like the food here but the last time I went I ordered the BLT. I almost sent it back. I was such a substandard thing. Tasteless, almost no bacon on it, the bread looked like it was fished out of squashed loaf of white bread, and no flavor at all. They should be able to do better than that. I certainly could have made better at home. And for the price it was a big disappointment. Sheetz makes a better BLT. read more

honestly, I had the attitude how bad could be, just a hearty good breakfast was what I was looking for, nothing fancy, I ordered an omelet, I was truly craving some eggs. the filling was like they took a tablespoon of filling and that was it, and not real good, the cheese on the omelet was okay, the home fries was cubed potatoes they must have put in a deep fryer, no onions no seasoning, just fried cubed potatoes, will say the rye toast was good, I felt for the waitress she looked like she had a rough day, but good service, coffee I drank several cups thinking this brown water got to get good at some point, sadly it did not, the restaurant needs a good deep cleaning an update, the desert display cooler sounded like it was gearing up to be launched in space, will I go back nope read more

If you want a fantastic breakfast, this is the place. The atmosphere is typical old-school diner. No problem with that. It's the food that makes it great. The service is friendly and attentive. I had the hotcakes and sausage patties. The sausage was cooked perfectly but the hotcakes were simply delicious. They're fluffy and moist, just perfect. My date had eggs over easy with bacon and toast and home fries. Everything was delicious and just as we wanted it. Add a cup of coffee and the total was only about $17. You can't get a quality breakfast anywhere for that price. They close at 2 on weekends so hurry in! read more

I live in the area of Jodi B's. I would really like to give this place a better star rating, but I just can't. I have given this restaurant several attempts to earn a better rating, it is just not there. The service is lacking on so many levels. Friendliness and prompt service, not there. The food is lacking in flavor or taste. I have had the dinner specials and the burgers, not impressed. The wait time is horrible. The food price is reasonable, but the quality of food is not. I believe is it family own and run. They do as little as possible. They have locals that come in every day, for company or just for lack of any place else to go, not saying that is a bad thing, but the voice level is so that everyone in the restaurant can hear the conversation. This has been experienced on more than one occasion. I have not been there during brunch on a Sunday. I have only been there during the dinner hour on a week day. I was not impressed and will not return. They do have coupons available and no reservation is required. read more

Found out from a mutual friend that this establishment had changed ownership since the last time we were here (see my previous review). The ownership may have changed and the interior does look much nicer with updates and an added bar area but nothing else has improved. Barbie still makes the tiny toast, the so called "home fries" are Ore Ida frozen potato cubes ( we call them bag & spoon fries) and the overall portion sizes and quality is not good at all. I had breakfast here last week. Not impressed in the least. I pulled into the shopping center and it was so dark I was unsure if the restaurant was even open! I walked in and there were approximately three tables with patrons there. I ordered a regular breakfast (meat, potatoes, eggs, and toast). I have to agree with an additional poster that this is home of the worlds smallest toast. I had sausage, which I am pretty confident that it was brown and serve from the microwave. Eggs were ok, potatoes were small and greasy. Place just had a dirty feel. I will not be running back here anytime soon. There has to be better. I ate here when it was the Plaza and that was better. Great place for breakfast and lunch, a little less so for supper. I've been here many times and the morning and midday service and food is consistently excellent. My daughter and I came for dinner at 7:00 pm. After a long day at work I was looking forward to a nice meal. The waitress was rude from the start. There was also two other tables sat. Everything we asked for as far as drinks and food she told us they were out of. Such staple items as ice tea, chicken fingers. We had the feeling she wanted us to leave. I overheard the waitress talking to another table as she was sweeping with a broom well she was talking loudly and angry that they close at 8 again this was 7pm the lady begin apologizing she said will get out of your hair soon she said no you won't you ordered chicken wings they take 25 minutes. She then began vacuuming which was terribly loud. She also proceeded to take two pitchers of ice tea to the back. Terrible service and terrible food. This is a no-frills diner. The place was mostly empty at 6pm on a Wednesday, so we got seated right away. The menu is basic - burgers, sandwiches, meatloaf, pasta. Typical diner choices. The waitress gave some good recommendations, and our food came out quickly. It tasted home cooked and fresh, and I'm pretty sure the pierogies were home made. Awww man where do I start. Jodi Bs is a kind of a hard place to find very easy to pass it therefore it's service is good and not many people in there. When I first walked into Jodi Bs we where seated fast by the friendly staff it was around 4 so nobody was really in there. We got a booth but the booth really wasn't comfortable it made lots of noises and I didn't like it but I'm not going to bash a restaurant for that because I'm here for the food . I ordered the Ruben sandwich and within less than 45 min it was being brought out. words could not describe how amazing that sandwich was I was very pleased by the old school cooking and freshness. Now you may be wondering why did I rate it a 4/5 because the environment was a little filthy with a fly flying around and how they don't wrap the napkin around the silverware . We love Jodi B's! Our kids ask for it by name each time we drive by, or sometimes on weekends when they wake up in the morning. We always sit at the same booth and Tammy and the rest of the girls are wonderful to us and our kids. The food is good, what you would expect from a little cafe, and the prices are great.
