Their customer waiting area offered coffee, tea, snacks, and I believe a television. Who could ask for more? Also, I had five lights on my dash that came on when I ruined my tire hitting a curb. The guys reset the warning lights and replaced my tire with a newer tire. I was out of there in 45 minutes. Typically in my old place of business that I used I was there 3 to 4 hours waiting for similar services. My time is precious just as theirs is. Brandon was polite. The customers service was important to him. Thank you, Brandon and guys in the shop who took care of this customer. As I was ready to leave and pay my bill, Brandon said "No Charge". What? Wait I need to write you a check no ma'am no charge today I was blown away. But I don't recommend if you expect them to do everything according to your manufacturer's recommendations. I brought my AWD Camry in to get serviced. Everything went well except for the part about the drive shaft bolt retorquing. There's a bolt on the drive shaft of AWD Carmy's that Toyota requires retorquing every 10,000 or 15,000 miles / 12-18 months (depending on driving conditions). Toyota service centers do the retorquing every service they do. But when I talked to the service rep at this location, he didn't know anything about it. My point is that you'll probably be happy here if you just want basic car service. But if you want to make sure you get manufacturer-specific things done for your car, take it to the dealership.

I got better service than I've ever received anywhere! I had gotten stuck over night in Salem due to car issues and had found him in Yelp the next morning. I did have to call many times, but Doc is a husband and wife operation, so they are busy. However, he called me back and fit me into his schedule, problem solved my bent hood and pushed-in front of my car, and gave me super helpful advice on topping the oil in my very old car. My dad had followed me out to Doc's garage because I wasn't sure my car would make it, and we listened to what Doc was telling me. Dad said I had received such great service and was fortunate to have such an experienced mechanic take the time to explain what was going on with my car. I'm a little embarrassed to say, I didn't know that many old cars need to be topped with oil between the 3,000 miles mark. That explained the sound my car was making and how it felt driving. Though I was embarrassed, I never felt talked down to by Doc. (Ladies, take your car here!) The other problem with my car was that I had gotten into a fender bender on my way to Salem and was unable to unlatch my hood. We left Doc's for an hour and came back after receiving his call. Doc had somehow managed to smooth the hood and get it to unlatch and latch again. This was amazing because the problem wasn't just with my hood, but with the whole front of my car. It had been pushed in 3 or more inches pinching the radiator. What Doc charged for his work was so reasonable, I was dismayed. I would drive from Portland to Keizer to have Doc work on my car. He was great.

Just be aware that this isn't like a regular garage or dealer's waiting room. There's nowhere to sit and wait for your car, so you'll have to have someone pick you up and then take you back for your car when it's finished. But he saw that I had stalled out in the middle of traffic on Lancaster road on his way home. Like this dude wasn't on the clock or getting paid (spoiler alert I tried to give him cash and he said no, cause he didn't stop to help because he wanted a customer or money, he stopped to help me and my mom because it was the "right" thing to do.) Like wtf who does that anymore? He got my car to the next parking lot entrance and instead of that being "that's my good deed for the day" he stayed with me for the next at least 30 minuets making literally 18 trips to (somewhere, I hope he hope he didn't pay for the that many water bottles) to fill up little water bottles to fill up my apparently leaky coolant tank with water. He talked to me about what was wrong and gave me advice about how to get home safe, etc.... and this dude, you will not believe actually offered to follow me all the way down Lancaster till it was time for me to pull off into my neighborhood.
