Brandon and his crew respected my appointment time took care of my tire which had to be replaced and gave me a comfortable place to wait for the service on my Honda CRV. Their customer waiting area offered coffee, tea, snacks, and I believe a television. Who could ask for more? Also, I had five lights on my dash that came on when I ruined my tire hitting a curb. The guys reset the warning lights and replaced my tire with a newer tire. I was out of there in 45 minutes. Typically in my old place of business that I used I was there 3 to 4 hours waiting for similar services. My time is precious just as theirs is. Brandon was polite. The customers service was important to him. Thank you, Brandon and guys in the shop who took care of this customer. As I was ready to leave and pay my bill, Brandon said "No Charge". What? Wait I need to write you a check no ma'am no charge today I was blown away. I got better service than I've ever received anywhere! I had gotten stuck over night in Salem due to car issues and had found him in Yelp the next morning. I did have to call many times, but Doc is a husband and wife operation, so they are busy. However, he called me back and fit me into his schedule, problem solved my bent hood and pushed-in front of my car, and gave me super helpful advice on topping the oil in my very old car. My dad had followed me out to Doc's garage because I wasn't sure my car would make it, and we listened to what Doc was telling me. Dad said I had received such great service and was fortunate to have such an experienced mechanic take the time to explain what was going on with my car. I'm a little embarrassed to say, I didn't know that many old cars need to be topped with oil between the 3,000 miles mark. That explained the sound my car was making and how it felt driving. Though I was embarrassed, I never felt talked down to by Doc. (Ladies, take your car here!) The other problem with my car was that I had gotten into a fender bender on my way to Salem and was unable to unlatch my hood. We left Doc's for an hour and came back after receiving his call. Doc had somehow managed to smooth the hood and get it to unlatch and latch again. This was amazing because the problem wasn't just with my hood, but with the whole front of my car. It had been pushed in 3 or more inches pinching the radiator. What Doc charged for his work was so reasonable, I was dismayed. I would drive from Portland to Keizer to have Doc work on my car. He was great.

3000 dollar bench rebuild of a 4L60E. When I went to pick up…read morethe transmission Sam had a torque converter to go along with it.Told him I already had one,so you would think he would take the price of the torque off the bill but that did not happen. Installed transmission and found out it had no 1st gear start until it reached 1300 rpm and 1st to 2nd would slam using a TCI controller. Took the truck to Sam to check what was wrong,he put it on the lift and connected his zoom box to the trans. and jacked up the rear wheels.He said the trans was ok and the problem was in the TCI controller an suggested I buy a different trans. controller.He had no idea how it acted on the road didn't even drive it. Got to say the people at TCI were great,I sent back the controller three times and they sent me a new one even though there was nothing wrong with any of them.After the fourth one and five months of frustration I decided to take the truck to Salem Transmission and had it repaired right.(They found transmission had wrong gear starts and missing 1st at times, problems with internal control system 2/3 solenoid installed in the TCC bore, causing major actuator feed fluid pressure loss. One shift solenoid stuck off electrically. Replaced shift solenoids.1/2 accumulator valve and sleeve stuck in VB,replaced separator plate for over drilled feed holes and worn out check ball hole with poor repair.This repair costed an additional 1,023 dollars This can be confirmed an much more from Rick Field (owner) of Salem Transmission Services , INVOICE 15002464 IS SAMS TRANSMISSION THE PLACE YOU REALLY WANT TO HAVE YOUR TRANSMISSION WORKED ON ??????
