I rarely give poor reviews, but this may have been some of the worst food I've had in my life. The sushi tasted what I imagine cat food would taste like - disgusting! It was like the tuna and scallops were water logged and old. Even the rice was horrible! The Wor Wonton soup was tasteless. The dumplings were cold. The Pad Thai was mediocre at best - really greasy with poor quality shrimp. Very disappointed. Just wasted $50. read more

Ordered out for delivery. This place has really gone downhill. I used to eat there monthly when I worked nearby (4 years ago). The Kung Pao Triple Delight consisted of what seemed to be steamed veggies and meat in a bland sauce (I do not believe a wok was involved in this recipe).The Lo Mein was bland and like the Kung Pao had not been seared in a wok. Lastly, I think they forgot to season the egg-drop soup as well, maybe it was made with water instead of chicken stock. Wow - that was disappointing. read more

I will not eat food from JJ Bistro again. I ordered the sesame tofu from the "vegetable delight" portion of the menu. This dish is labeled as Spicy. First there were no vegetables - just a pile of tofu. Perhaps I should have known better, but it was under the vegetable dish section so I assumed the tofu would be mixed in with veggies. Second, the tofu was soggy and soft. It was like eating a sticky lukewarm marshmallow. Third, it had no flavor. Fourth, the rice that came with it was over cooked; I could practically sift it through my teeth. To top it off, it took over 40 minutes to deliver and I live 1 mile away. It was an unfortunate circumstance, but the employee who came to deliver my food truly did not handle it well.. As my delivery time was approaching, someone in my building accidentally set a fire in their kitchen. After 20 minutes on the sidewalk with loud alarms, firetrucks on the street, and a terrified puppy in my arms, I was finally able to get back into the building, only to find an irate delivery guy in my hallway. I understand that he must have been upset, but I was very apologetic, and the whole ordeal, although frightening, truly did not last longer than 20 minutes. It was still well within my estimated grubhub delivery time window. Not only was the gentleman who was delivering my food unkind and unsympathetic, but I truly do not even understand how or when he was able to get access into my building. I certainly had not been there to buzz him in, I was outside huddled with the rest of our apartment's residents wondering what the hell was going on and whether or not everyone was okay. The whole building was evacuated and nobody had been allowed inside, so I didn't think he'd be able to get in, even if he did show up during the emergency. The alarms were so loud I couldn't have heard my phone or been able to place a call even if I had been thinking about lunch. After a scary experience and his bad attitude (and surprising lack of perspective, who can think about food at times like this?!) the food was also just really really bad. the vegetable spring rolls were okay, but the chow fun was terrible and just bizarre. definitely not flat wide chow fun noodles, but more like weird sweet chewy fettucine with about a pound of sauteed bean sprouts. I was very sorry I inconvenienced the delivery man, but I got at least 9 calls from the delivery guy/the restaurant in those 20 minutes. Who comes upon a scene like this, then manages to sneak into a building during an emergency, and then proceeds to make such a big stink about noodles? I mean, really? I'm just glad that the kids who accidentally set their parents' kitchen on fire got out safely... read more
