This was my first time ordering and it was such a great experience! Ji was very communicative, answered all my questions, did all the add ons I was looking for, and the cake looks and tastes amazing! All my guests at my party loved the cake! The cake also tastes fantastic without being overly sweet. It was also very moist and the flavor with lemon and fresh raspberries were delicious. Ji also had complimentary delivery in Irvine which was such a nice bonus on the busy party day. Would definitely order again. Thank you!
This review is long overdue, but I highly recommend Ji's Cake Boutique for any custom cake or cupcake design for a special celebration. I ordered a Hello Kitty cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday, and it was absolutely beautiful. Ji is phenomenal and pays close attention to every detail to ensure everything is perfect. My daughter was over the moon when she saw her favorite character, and all of her friends were excited too. Ji truly thought of everything, from providing a special candle to packaging the cake in a beautiful clear display box that showcased the design perfectly. She even created a discreet opening behind the cake that made removing the fondant decorations incredibly easy. When it came time to serve the cake, I looked like a total pro and was able to cut and serve it within minutes. And the best part? Oh my goodness, the cake was delicious! It was perfectly sweet and incredibly fresh. We chose the strawberry and vanilla combination, and it was a huge hit at the party. Because the experience was so amazing, it was a no-brainer to order from Ji again for my son's 5th birthday. This time, she created a custom Buzz Lightyear cake that was absolutely breathtaking. The creativity and attention to detail were incredible. Even at an outdoor pool party, the cake held up beautifully. We chose the raspberry and chocolate mousse combination, and it was another crowd favorite. My son is still talking about his Buzz Lightyear cake to this day! Ji consistently delivers cakes that are not only stunning works of art but also taste amazing. She goes above and beyond to make every celebration special and memorable. I highly recommend Ji's Cake Boutique and will definitely continue ordering from her for future birthdays and celebrations.

I am so happy with the cupcakes for my husband's 50th birthday celebration. Each cupcake wonderfully represented a hobby or interest of his. Our party guests were blown away with the artistry!! The flavors available are: strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. Ji mentioned that the best seller is the strawberry flavor so that's what I went with. Honestly, I had my doubts because most of the time you hear that custom cakes would look good but does not taste great. But in this case, I can vouch that the design of the cake is amazing and the cake tasted fantastic. My wife is super detail oriented and even she was mightily impressed with both the design and taste of the cake. This is absolutely a work of art!!! By the way, Ji was able to deliver the cake and I was able to pay her via Zelle. I also gave her more than a week noticed. I would totally recommend her for these custom cakes for special occasions.
Ji did my husband's birthday cake for his 40th birthday. It was absolutely incredible!! I asked for a Jurassic Park theme, and she made the most amazing creation. Everyone said it was the most beautiful cake they'd ever seen. On top of how amazing the cake looked, it also tasted absolutely incredible! I can't recommend her enough. All the details such as the bride and groom cake topper, the flowers on it and the vibrant pink colors... simply breathtaking. We love that this cake is layered with fresh strawberries inside. I've had Ji's cakes and pastries a few times at my friend's kids' birthday parties, so I already knew how pretty and tasty they are. Last Christmas, I ordered her cupcakes for dessert, and they were a big hit with everyone. For my daughter's 11th birthday, we ordered a Labubu cake and cookies, and they were amazing! All the girls at the party loved them. They were so cute and fun, and Labubu is really popular right now. The cake even came with a real Labubu figure, which my daughter was so excited about! I live in Las Vegas, so it's definitely a bit of a drive but I still made arrangements to pick up Ji's cake and cookies because I really wanted them for my daughter's party. Ji was super friendly and easy to work with. She even helped me figure out the closest pickup spot, which made everything so much easier. I really appreciated that! Everything looked beautiful, just like I expected, but what I loved most was that the cake and cookies tasted really good. I'm not a fan of desserts that are too sweet, but Ji's desserts are just right. My daughter even said Ji's cake and cookies were the best gift from the party! Thank you, Ji, for making my daughter's birthday extra special! I highly recommend her if you want something fun, beautiful, and delicious for your next celebration.

I called her on a short notice, three days before I needed the cake and she executed it flawlessly! Better than I even imagined! It's absolutely beautiful. Updated Review after receiving the order. Even though I didn't place the order until 1.5 months in advanced, she didn't take any deposit and payment were made when she delivered the cake and cupcakes to my house. She was communicative and kept me up to date and sent me photos. She delivered the order with care, and gave me advice on how to keep it fresh until it's ready to be served. With a guest of over 50 people (kids and adults), the cake and cupcake was a hit with everyone. My friends were complimenting on the blueberry cake and asked me who I had made it. A lot of my friends and family loved how detailed the cake was (with the Bumble Num theme) and also asked who made it. Overall, great experience. read more

I was surprised with this beautiful cake for my 40th birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect. My boyfriend wanted to surprise me with a special cake. I was nervous because, ladies you know. He ended telling me stories, so I'm grateful for whomever he spoke with because they talked him out of choosing some odd filling options. He means well but flavor profiles can be tough lol! Nevertheless, he did perfect! The exterior was gorgeous! I didn't want to cut it but so glad I did because it tasted equally as lovely. This was a vanilla cake (favorite) with a berry mousse. We had a gender reveal cake sent to us today from my Wife's sister who ordered from Ji's Cake Boutique. First of all the cake was beautifully decorated. Please see picture below. Not only did this cake look amazing, it was absolutely delicious. The cake was really moist and the strawberry frosting inside was heavenly. Usually when cakes look amazing they don't taste great but with this cake you get the best of both. Also the service was top notch. It was a lazy Saturday morning for us and we missed all the calls from the security guard at the gate to let them in to deliver the cake. I ordered a cake from Ji based on several recommendations from a local South Orange County, Mom's group on Facebook. It did not disappoint. Ji was extremely communicative. Shared my vision. Even made changes to her proposed color scheme based on the balloons I had already blown up for a mermaid themed Ariel. The cake was fluffy and beautiful and not sickeningly sweet did it arrive immaculately packed, she also included a candle and acrylic server/slicer her included two matches embedded! Ji's Cake is the best decorative cake ever. I have my girl's 7th birthday "My Little Pony" cake. Ji is a genius cake decoration professor. We had a pleasant conversation before I offered her the job. "My Little Pony" cake is a challenging job to replicate the theme colors of purple, pink, blue, and yellow. Some cake decorators are hesitant to promise but Ji has good sense and provides a plan to go. It turns out to be amazing. The cake she made is gorgeous with aroma and smooth taste. My party makes great ads for her business. Although Ji's doesn't own an actual store, she just runs every cake like a masterpiece. we are so impressed by the healthy recipes of natural fruit and smoothy cream. Just try it. read more

Amazing custom cake which wowed my family of 11 this Christmas eve! Ji's cake is perfect for parties and receptions and could be a showpiece on its own. I ordered the cake 3 days before the event, which was going to celebrate my parents' birthdays. Amazingly Ji agreed to the last minute request and just needed us to send a few images for customization. She even was able to add Chinese characters to the cake! Sometimes Yelp Karma helps you find a custom baker that lives within walking distance who can not only bake a custom Toy Story cake with 3 days notice, but deliver it, be beyond super accommodating, and have it most importantly taste great! Ji helped us get a custom made cake super last minute for my wife and my son's birthday to help make pandemic Birthday's as fun as possible since we shouldn't be throwing big parties. Called on a Monday afternoon for a Thursday birthday and she Nailed it. 4 other bakers in the area literally scoffed at me when asking if it was possible. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IT TAKES TO MAKE A CAKE.. haha One other baker told me I could get them to write Happy Birthday on a cake and they could put sprinkles on it... Our custom cake was a "work of art"...it was too beautiful to cut and eat. The presentation blew away my expectations and all my friends and family that attend our event. After the blowing of the candle we had to do the unthinkable and cut the cake. How did taste??? Delish... it wasn't overly sweet and the berry mousse was an elegant counter balance to white cake.
