Fun, interesting place. Very good food and service. Diner atmosphere. We were a group of six on Route 66 and all was good.

Jim's has been in business since 1978 I know cause the coffee mug said so. You don't last as a mom N pop shop without making a decent plate of food. If you're next door at the Holiday Inn then it's definitely the closest place to grab breakfast when you miss (or don't want to eat) the continental. I had a ham, mushroom, spinach, and Swiss omelette with hash browns and a biscuit. The hash browns were cooked perfectly (I asked for crispy) and the omelette was tasty but looked a little small for 3 eggs. (small eggs maybe?) I got one biscuit were as most places around here give 2 and it was OK but not great and it was also a little small. Friendly staff-not a long wait- food was decent (biscuit and gravy, pancakes excellent--eggs and meats are ok). Could be cleaner. Both toilets in the women's room were clogged, no paper towels and the ever and always sticky floors. That's gross. read more

Went here for breakfast to celebrate my brothers birthday. It was my first time eating here and it did not disappoint! I ordered blueberry pancakes and a side of biscuits and gravy. The blueberries were sweet and the biscuits and gravy were delicious! Our waitress was Lisa and she was awesome! Super sweet and made sure our food was great! Prices were great too! They did a remodel and it's nice, but after we were seated, things didn't work out. We waited for 10 minutes and no one took our drink order. I counted 4 waiters and one cook. There were 6 tables with people. We watched one customer go behind the counter to fill his own drink. No one even approached him to apologize or to finish filling his drink. We decided to leave. The food smelled great and they had some great breakfast specials. Super disappointed that we didn't get to eat there. read more

Entryway floor mat is covered in grease and smells, that's nothing compared to the smell of old grease that will hit you once you've gone through the door. Everything was dirty, floor to tables. Terrible burger! How do you mess up a burger? I don't know, but they did it! It was like a big burger ball, like they forgot to smash it into a patty. Very bland and flavorless. I don't think I've ever left half a burger on my plate! The restaurant just feels unkept. You can tell a lot about a place by their restrooms. The restroom was missing ceiling tiles and the floor was probably last mopped when this place was a Denny's! They need to hire a janitorial service and a decorator to do a little updating. read more

I grew up eating here and have since moved away. You could always depend on Jim's friendly hospitality, which made up for their average meal. I have moved away since then, but often returned to visit family, but as they have passed on, I have not been back for several years. So as I was passing through my hometown on a roadtrip, I decided to have breakfast as we stayed in the hotel adjacent. It was precisely noon when we arrived. We walked in the door, two hostess/waitresses were talking and turned to look at us without so much a welcome. Then turned back to each other. So I asked if we were to seat ourselves when one finally acknowledged our presence. We were seated and ordered just water for now as we looked over the menu. It took us maybe 5 minutes to make a decision and then we waited, and waited, and waited. The waitress walked by us several times and didn't even look at us. My husband got up and went to the front and asked if someone could take our order. I was already ready to leave. We waited a few more minutes and then left 20 minutes later without so much as water and went down to the buffalo grill at 23rd and council behind 7-11 where we were promptly served with a good breakfast with a nice variety of choices. read more

Went here today for late breakfast. I had a terrific experience and the food was good. I had Jims Omelette and biscuits and gravy and it was very good and arrived quickly and hot. The family enjoyed all their food as well and the service was exceptional. read more

This place use to be really good but has gone down hill over the years. No because of the updates or price, the food just isn't as good anymore. The staff are still really friendly and I'll stop in occasionally but it's been going down hill for years now. read more

I'm sad to report that I must update my old review of Jims. My old review that was up for a couple years just doesn't reflect at all what Jims is now. Jims has always had bad service but it is now so bad that even a great plate of food can't make up for it. The new owner or manager seems not to care at all. However, I would still go because I liked the food until they decided that people who choose rye toast only get one slice per order. This is the most asinine idea that I've ever heard. So I simply ask for another piece and every time I'm meet with rudeness and an up charge on my bill. The new owner/manager really needs to watch the old time tested business video called "give them the pickle". Sadly I will never return to Jims. read more

Great Chicken and Waffles! After eating off of everyone's plate I am a true believer in all things "Jim's Menu".

I have been going to Jims for years. I agree with Dustin in the fact a mom and pop restaurant won't last long without good food and good service . I can go anytime between 6am to 10pm and get anything on the menu, with very consistent food quality and service. It is very affordable for what you get. It is obviously not a 5 star restaurant, but for a diner, it hits all the marks. Regarding the cleanness and appearance, that had been addressed recently. Lots of remodeling has been done. Food was mediocre. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak w/fries and it came out in a pretty timely manner as i was seated at the bar. Sandwich came out in a demolished bun, and it fell apart when attempting to eat. I felt so ashamed to eat a Philly with a fork and knife due to this. Fries were completely soaked in grease and over-cooked. I was able to grab a few good fries out of it but the others didn't survive. My waitress was very attentive. This is a good old fashioned diner. I have never had a bad meal here. If you like home style food, the you should like Jim's Diner. I recommend the fried chicken, any breakfast item, the burgers are huge, and the chicken fried steak never disappoints. I recommend you try it if you haven't already. read more

Very very very poor service. I am currently still here sitting down eating we arrived, got seated, then never got checked on again. 30 minutes had passed and I had to physically get up and ask if anyone was going to attend us. All at the same time that other new people are showing up and being attended first. We finally get attended and receive our food. My girlfriends chicken and waffles were good but my chicken fried steak was horrible. Very bad. The people next to us are going through the same thing. They as well had to get up to ask to be served. Maybe I went at the wrong time or when the good cook wasn't there. I ordered the Jim's sampler plat for breakfast. Came with hash browns 2 pieces of bacon ham an egg a slice of swiss and American cheese, a biscuit with some gravy. First appearance it looked ok. So I got the eggs scrambled and it look like they fried it and broke the yolk while it was cooking. The hash browns were just potatoes with no taste. The ham was 1/4 thick with a bunch of fat on it and over cooked, so I had to push that to the side. The cheese was from that processed junk you buy at the grocery store. The only thing that had some decent taste was the bacon. The biscuit was ok but the gravy was either the powdered bag stuff.you just add water to, or was re-used over a very long time because.it was almost able to stand on end. On these other comments I see it says it smells but maybe i couldnt smell it. Again these are just my own opinions and feel free to try for yourself. read more

Service was fairly slow. That is including sitting down to the time we got drinks and then standing up at the counter to pay for more than 5 minutes. I decided on the chicken and waffles, what's in the description shows a waffle and a fried chicken breast, but what I actually got were two chicken strips and waffle. The chicken was dry and the waffle was just ok. my husband got a burger and fries which was just ok. I probably would not go out of my way to go to this place. This was pretty awful today. We've been here many times over the past few years and never ever had a problem. Maybe it was just a horrible day for them. Multiple groups of people walking out, cockroach on the floor, a woman yelled at a server bc they'd been waiting over an hour... just very poor experience all the way around. We waited to have our drink order taken, had a different waitress come take our food order, she gave us free biscuits and gravy since we waited so long, but then we didn't get our side of pancakes. This place is great! Little hole in the wall, diner type feel. You can eat at the counter or in one of their many booths. Pancakes are awesome and huge! Ordered the hearty meat and two egg breakfast with bacon to go. Eggs and bacon were pretty standard diner fare, but they forgot to put the fresh fruit in the bag and my biscuit with gravy was lacking the gravy. I work down the street and know that their parking lot is always full, but after this experience I can't imagine why. read more

Good little greasy spoon diner. I eat here quite a bit and I have to say I enjoy pretty much anything I order. I've tried all the omelets they are all good. I can't speak for many of the dinner options because I haven't tried many of them. I can say the "land run" burger is seriously one of the best hamburgers I've eaten in the Okc metro area. I highly recommend it. Bring your appetite though its two pretty good sized patties of beef & fries come with it. I'm not saying this place is a gourmet paradise but if you want some pretty good food at a fair price give it a try. read more

The service here is horrible. We waiting for 35 minutes for a grilled onion Burger which came with cheese (that I didn't want) so they were going to redo it and after another 15 minutes I cancelled my order. Which was after I saw the waitress using her hands to put the lettuce for somebody else's salad in the bowl. There are lots of diners in the Oklahoma City area go to one of those do not come here.
