Sunday brunch at Cafe Kacao. We have been wanting to go there for a long time but could never remember to get on the waitlist. So Sunday morning we got on the waitlist at 8:22, with excepted table available time at 12:02. We were number 85 on the waitlist. We received a text at 11:30 stating the line was moving faster than expected and our new seating time was 11:37. We jumped in the car and made it exactly at 11:37. We live in Mesta Park so we are close. We'll, as it turns out we're seated a few minutes after 12. We were seated in the center section of tables comprised of two tops. They are spaced extremely close. Our table was separated to the adjoining table by 6 inches. It was quite cozy. The spacing is better around the perimeter. We started with Michalotta's ($7). They were splendid! I ordered some chips ($6), and they came with a green sauce in an bottle. There were no small plates on the table and our server was gone for a long time so we had to pour a little sauce on a chip and be careful not to spill the sauce off the chip. The sauce was very tasteful. I ordered the Cuban burrito ($18.50). It was excellent. Jan ordered the Huevos Rancheros ($16.50). She said it was the best she had ever had. The food quality is excellent. The volume of food is impressive but we only ate about half of each serving. The restrauant was noisy which at times, interfered with conversation. The service was average. Unfortunately, the dining experience is a cattle call that is overcome by large volumes of high quality food.

Some of the best food in OKC, though the crazy waitlist and chaotic atmosphere keep me from coming back as often as I'd like--I usually recommend takeout instead. My go-to is the Cobanero Omelet, which I always pair with a side of plantains to make it complete. Their drip coffee is great, the specialty coffees are fun, and the mimosas are surprisingly affordable. It's a fantastic spot with a group since you can sample everything, and leftovers reheat really well. OKC definitely needs about five more locations because one just isn't enough!

The food and drink selection is extensive--I was honestly a bit overwhelmed because everything sounded so good! I ultimately chose the Tikal with a café de olla since I was in the mood for something less sweet. The meal was generous, flavorful, and came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas, chorizo, carne asada, plantains, eggs, and black beans. Every bite was delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to come back a second time, but unfortunately didn't have the chance. If you're in town, I definitely recommend stopping by. The restaurant has a vibrant atmosphere, and the beautifully presented drinks are just as colorful and inviting as the space itself.

Great food and great coffee. Love the ethnicity of it all!!! The remodeling of the inside is so pretty

Cafe Kacao is simply the best -- 10/10 across the board. The food is incredible and the drinks are just as amazing. I had the pupusas, the best carajillo I've ever had, and a chocolate espresso martini that was absolutely perfect. Everything was flavorful and worth the hype. One thing to know: this place is very popular, so make sure you join the waitlist early. I joined just before 8am and didn't get seated until around 11am. Even with the wait, it was 100% worth it and I'd absolutely come back.

Amazing everything! The Bloody Mary was dressed beautifully and tasted spot on. The menu is brilliant showing all the details of the food. Speaking about the food, it's worth the hype. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. The atmosphere was vibrant, with a coastal cafe feeling. Check in for a seat for a shorter wait time once you check in with the host

Came here from a local's recommendation and really enjoyed it. Excellent artwork, ambiance, and service. Lots of menu options. I'm writing this review a bit delayed but I remember really loving the house made tortillas stuffed with beans that came with my Moteleño. They were thicker than I've had in the past and it was the perfect finishing touch for me. I've been craving it ever since. Great veggie options. My mom's chicken dish was also great. The wild berry pancakes were just ok in my opinion. I think I was expecting a bit more of a tres leches type taste with the lechera sauce which is my bad just not having ever had it before. Got it as a dessert. It's not that sweet if that's what you're looking for, but if you want a not-too-sweet option then it could be perfect. It was very beautiful. Would absolutely go back here. Service was again wonderful.

My friend brought me here for brunch before dropping me off at the airport, and I'm glad this was my last meal in OKC! I ordered a Horchata Latte, and we both shared one sweet and one savory dish. Mango Pancakes - these pancakes are the fluffiest you'll ever have! Drizzled with house-made lechera and blackberry bourbon sauce, and topped with mango and berries. Vaca Frita Pupusas - perfect for sharing, this comes with two cheese and pork pupusas topped with Cuban style grilled shredded beef and onions, two eggs, hollandaise, and chicharron crumbles. This was SO good and it would be hard to convince me to order something else if I'm ever in OKC again!

YES, you should eat here...But if you're reading this, make sure you prepare yourself for the Waitlist. This is an award winning restaurant for a reason and it's tiny! But if you play your cards right, you'll get in and enjoy a delicious meal. After hearing about this place for years, my cousin and I decided to give the waitlist a try for an 11am target on a Thursday. I put my name in around 9:30am and saw I was on the queue. It worked out as we checked in and got in around 11:15am. They have takeout if you don't want to wait! Now the FOOD. Wait, first the strawberry-banana smoothie was HUGE and so delicious. Not overly sweet. Same for the latte my cousin got - how do they make it so perfect?! We ordered the Carne Asada lunch and French Toast with fresh berries and sliced bananas to share. Everything was full of flavor and seasoned to perfection. The French Toast is coated and slightly crunchy. I would agree the food is worth the hype. The decor is bright and colorful. It's loud so don't expect a quiet experience. Enjoy the positive energy of the spot, it goes with the food! Service was excellent and helpful if you're a newbie. I hope all Oklahomies and visitors get a chance to experience this wonderful gem of a restaurant.

Flowers well deserved (claps) I have had this place on my radar for a while due to Yelp's top brunch spots a couple years back. After trying it for myself, it will also be going on my personal list of most memorable brunch spots! Ambiance: place was packed with customers, but we did not feel squished, and our server was a literal ray of sunshine (I wish I could shout out but I forgot their name). He was very thorough and happy to answer our questions about their menu, drinks, and recommendations. I do recommend calling ahead and getting on the waitlist though. The food came in massive (**massive**) portions, definitely delivering on the value front. The pancakes (3/5) were a bit underwhelming (soft and one note, but it was saved by the blueberry topping and mango compote. The softness and fluffiness may be a plus for some, but I prefer a bit more substance and flavor for mine! The burrito (5/5) was amazing, all the sauces were phenomenal (no notes), and the coffee (4/5) was pretty good Definitely got to try a lot of flavors that I normally do not get to at a brunch spot. I love the way that they served Guatemalan flavors in a very accessible and fun way. Most of all, the pride and excitement with which everything was presented was infectious and made for a great experience.

Cafe Kacao is one of my must try breakfast places in OKC. It's always so good and the portions are enormous. My favorite is the berry pancake, but I love trying some of their savory dishes as well. They just remodeled the restaurant and it's so nice inside. The staff is always super friendly. The main drawback of this place is you cannot casually go on a weekend. You *have* to put your name on the waitlist. My friends and I put our name on at 7:45 and got seated about 11. So you have to be prepared. The waitlist is pretty accurate so as long as you watch it you should know when to leave your house. The wait is always worth it!

Holy Cow! A buddy of mine recommended this little gem. We love trying unique local places. Pro tip get on waitlist early! Once the crowd hits they are packed. Plantains were amazing! Its hard to find good plantains in the states. But these were perfectly cooked and caramelized. Our waiter brought us a special whipped cream cheese to go with them and holy cow it was a 1 2 punch of flavor. My omelette was cooked exactly how it was supposed to be. Tender chunks of carne asada and flavorful pico throughout. The cubanero sauce had a great depth of flavor. They also brought some jalapeño hot sauce which made my tongue tingle! My daughter had some things that i cant pronounce but was absolutely delicious. The pupusas were so delicious and fresh. My nutella latte was a nice delight with some fancy artwork on top! Dont walk but run to this spot and tell me its not worth it! Huge plates of food for a fair price!

I absolutely loved my experience at Cafe Kacao! The wait was 100% worth it for the incredible food and service. I ordered one of the burritos and a latte, and both were easily a 10/10. Since moving to Oklahoma, I haven't found many breakfast spots that have truly impressed me, but Cafe Kacao definitely exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food made it an easy favorite. I'll definitely be coming back!

I ordered a grilled chai tea latte and a cookie, which sounded simple but felt thoughtfully done. The chai had a deep, spiced aroma the moment it hit the table. It wasn't overly sweet, and the warmth of the spices came through clearly with each sip. There was a smooth, velvety texture that made it especially comforting. The cookie was fresh and slightly crisp around the edges with a soft center. It tasted homemade rather than mass-produced, with just the right balance of sweetness to pair with the drink without overwhelming it. The café itself has a welcoming, lived-in charm. Plenty of natural light, a steady hum of conversation, and people either catching up with friends or working on laptops. The baristas were attentive and genuinely friendly, creating an easygoing atmosphere that made it hard to leave.
