Tire service is prompt and friendly but recently I needed a slow leak repaired and they had no appointments available, walk-in was going to be two hours. My husband and I both work full-time so that's not an option. Went to Route 10 Tire instead - and they fixed it right then no charge! Next tires we bought from them. Sorry but if you don't have the staff, I have to go elsewhere. Service department seems reasonably priced and reliable. We'll still go here for service.

That being said, Ive bought my last three sets of tires from Tirerack and never had any issues. They dont install them, they just hand them to you off a loading dock. Then you get them installed at the place of your choosing. You should already have done your research, have read the tire reviews from independent sources, and know what tire you want. Then you get online and order them, then they will ship them to your house. If you buy tires from them and pick them up yourself, you can save 40 bucks. They can also ship them to one of their installer partners, like Pep boys or somewhere, and you can go have the installation done there. Prices are good, they will save you some money. Especially if you live close enough to pick them up yourself. No complaints so far.

Aside from the installer hitting my passenger side door with the jack handle, install process wasn't a bad experience. When I got to driving the vehicle few days later, there was a noticeable wobble when speed hit 55+. I contacted Tire Rack several times. The rep told me that my tire was "out of round" and that I needed to bring it somewhere to get that verified and that they would reimburse up to $30 per tird for that service. The local Chevy dealer wanted double that price. I found a shop in North Haven, CT that dismounted the rims and re-balanced thd tires to diagnose where the wobble was coming from. I sent the receipt to Tire Rack via email. They gave me the runaround and did not reimburse me. Long story long, I'm out an additional $120 AND my van is still wobbling going down thd road. I haven't reported Tire Rack to the BBB yet, but plan to. Stay away from these people. They do not back their service or the tires thry sell. Very displeased. Won't be buying from them again in the future.​

When I went in to have the car serviced, I was told by Scott that Route 20 Automotive was a 10 minute drive, and agreed to do the work under the premise that I had booked the appointment there based on the proximity to where I work. He told me that he would need to perform an engine wash to determine the source of the leak. He told me that he performed the wash and charged me $30 for it and told him to take it back to him in a week. One week later, I again brought the car to be looked at and he told me that there was no sign of oil anywhere on the engine. At this point I had lost almost a quart of oil. The following day, I took the car to a reputable mechanic that my family has been using for over 20 years to get a second opinion. He informed me that the entire engine was covered in oil and dirt, to the extent that they would need to perform an engine wash to detect the source of the leak. At this point it became clear to me that an engine wash was not performed at all, even though I was charged $30 for it. The following week I returned to Scott to give him another chance to follow up for the services he had supposedly performed. Instead, he lied again, telling me that there was no oil on the engine. After taking the car back to my mechanic and confirming once more that the engine had not been washed, I called Scott and confronted him about the matter, explaining that what he had told me did not hold water. I requested that he refund the $30 that he had stolen from me, and he refused. I will be following up in small claims court. I don't recommend this guy to anyone who isn't in the market to get screwed over.
