I would not recommend getting your car serviced at this Midas location. My auto was in their garage overnight and after getting my brakes serviced a few weeks later I realized that a radar detector and camera went missing from the storage compartment of my car. I suspected it was stolen from my car from one of their employees while in their garage and custody. I. Spoke with manager and he indicted that they do not have video cameras in their garage bays. However, he promised to look into it and call me back, guess what, he never got back to me. At a minimum please put up a sign instructing customers to not leave valuables when they service your Auto. read more

We moved from Florida and needed to register our vehicles. Per Connecticut laws, we needed to get an emissions testing before the vehicles could be registered. We called and booked an appointment. On the day of the testing, we parked our cars, checked in with customer service, and gave them our keys. We didn't know where to park, so we parked on the outside perimeter of the parking lot and that seemed to not be an issue. For both cars, it took about 30 minutes. We waited in the waiting room; once they were done, they called our name and we checked out. The place was busy but efficient, waiting room was packed but we were able to snag a chair. Dropped off my car for an oil change (complimentary due to an issue the prior visit) and asked for tire rotation. Got a call that my car needed front and rear brakes and 4 new tires. When I asked about the brakes the person said they squeaked all the way into the bay for the oil change? News to me as I dropped it off that morning and not a squeak to be heard. I took it to a local mechanic who advised that I would need all of the above but it was not critical and had 10k miles left before needed to be addressed. Had Midas said this I would have appreciated the information and felt that they were looking out for my best interest. However, making up the squeak and telling me all needed to be done was looking out for theirs. I used to go to Midas for oil changes near my old job, so I am familiar with them. I believe they are owned independently, but my experience with 4 different shops; they were all fair and reliable. I've gone to this specific Midas 3x in the past 6 months. The 1st time I had to have my car flatbedded to (somewhere) & I arbitrarily chose them. My tires were so bare that one of them deflated 100% and I could not move the car. (trust me, I've tried) I wasn't planning on keeping it for long, so I didn't want to get expensive tires, that's why I pushed my luck. Jim was super helpful & shopped around for the cheapest decent tires he could find & hooked me up. Then my battery died, again & they replaced it. Thanks again Jim. The last time I brought it there, I was trying to borrow a car that had been sitting, from a friend. I had bought a new battery & suspected that the alternator wasn't great, so i was told to unhook the battery when i was done driving it. When i got home, the trunk latch didnt open. In the am i called Midas and they fit me in. The manager lubed the latch & confirmed that the alternator was on its way out. I literally made it .25 a mile & the car died. This time it was the alternator. I removed my new battery, called AAA & had it flatbedded back to my friends house. Bad car luck aside, Midas was reasonably priced, everyone was super helpful & they were very accomodating. I would definitely recommend them. read more

Used to go there for years then things changed to the worst recently after the original owner not running it anymore. Quality of services performed and CS are below zero . The guy who is in charge and runs it now is not capable of doing it the successful way it used to be . It's so sad to see things changed that way . He's such a rude person now and nothing like he used to be under the owner management , may be that's stress because of the business failing under his management!! Not sure if they can stay in business if they keep things the way they are !! I see why they get 5 stars!! I took my car here with lots of "noises" and worries pulling up. They spent time with my car, drive it a few times to hear what I was "hearing". They could've told me I needed a new engine but they didn't. They replaced my brake pad sensor I purchased on my own for free, and topped off my oil for free too! They stayed later then they had to, they didn't charge me and they were honest. Not saying you'll get your services for free, but bottom line you can tell they care about their customers and take care of them! 5/5 stars, I'd give more if I could! read more

It's so hard finding a trustable place for car repairs and maintenance, but I've had all good experiences with Midas. For one, they text me when my car is about due for an oil change, and after having it serviced they check in to make sure it's running ok. I've called once right when they opened to see if I could get my oil changed that day and even though they were booked they managed to squeeze me in. I'm never pressured to get extra work done, change my air filter before necessary, etc. read more

They truly care about their customers and are not out to gouge anyone, will not upsell uneeded services or make you wait unnecessarily. They are thorough, don't try up sell anything and offer a great inspection with things to keep an eye on. I'm amazed at all of these 5 star reviews. I'm not one at all to write a review but I guess when you're so pissed off, it's the only thing you can do. Had tires put on my wife's car here last fall. Recently before that I changed her brakes. Typically 2 years until I change them again. Started having some brake and rotor issues. Go to change said brakes and these guys cranked the ever loving shit out of the lug nuts. Like beyond torque spec. The locking lug net key is completely chewed up from them. Not only have I blown through yet another socket to remove this, here I sit with half a job done because some idiot tightened the shit out the lugs which in turn warped the rotor. Never again. Ever. The best place to service your car. The staff at Canton Midas have great experience and knowledge of cars. They have a courteous front desk and the personnel are phenomenal. Great waiting area with tons of magazines. You can drop off your vehicle and do shopping at nearby canton mall and they will call you on the dot. (I know, it's not a restaurant, but hey gotta give credit when something's good right?) Went in for a walk-in oil change, and it was booked up for the day. Already a good sign, means alot of repeat business right? Don't let the staff's appearance fool ya, they are some friendly people back there. So came in for an oil change with an appointment (highly suggest an appointment and not walk-in), they told me it would be about an hour or so, with the free tire rotation and all that, not a bad time-frame, and the shoppes are right there so you don't have to just sit and wait. Got a phone call right about the time it should have been done, explaining everything they saw, tire tread/life, air filters, all the little checks that some places probably wouldn't do. So, quite impressed with their quick service. I hope I never have to, but I'll use them for larger jobs if I ever need it. read more

Good honest service at a price more than 20% less that of the dealer. The dealer quoted me $500+ for sparkplugs in my F150 and Midas was around $200. Also, the dealer estimated $700 to fix a broken catalytic pipe that was cracked and rattling, Midas fixed it for a little over $100. read more

If you don't prefer a brand that they carry, they will order it and have them ready to install at your appointment. Super friendly staff from Brett who answered the phone to the guy and girl behind the counter when i came in. They were super attentive not just to me but to everyone else that I saw them interact with. I cant' believe this place doesn't have more reviews. They are great and seem very reasonable in pricing. I was worried about taking my luxury car to them but they did a great job. The best part was they even reset my maintenance alarms in the car for me. It is difficult for me to trust chains... restaurants, auto repair places you name it. I would have never thought to go to canton Midas if it weren't out of necessity one day when I went over a pothole and a piece of my undercarriage started dragging... I reached out to my acquaintence through a friend who works there asking if He could help me. Jimmi told me to come right in qnd he took the piece off and noticed my dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree. He made me make an appointment, saying He was concerned and I asked Him qbout the quality of work I should expect...well, that was 3 years ago and I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Whether its emissions or the big stuff I feel so well taken care of and confident in everyone from the person behind the counter who greets you to all the people turning wrenches [understatement, obviously] in the back. I moved to the area in 2017, and based on the good reviews took my car for an oil change in I guess late Spring. Mike told me I had an oil leak and that the exhaust flex pipe was on its way out. That was strange to hear because the car has always been garaged and there was never any oil on the floor under it. I checked. Sure enough, their technician had spilled oil on my engine when filling, and generously so. No big deal, I thought, I don't want to get the technician in trouble, though the engine had been immaculate due to being maintained by a garage with high integrity. The two previous mechanics to work on it in 2016 had never said anything about the exhaust. Both were highly experienced mechanics, and owner-operators, who lived near their garage (the garage was changing hands in early 2017, so two different mechanics). Next time I went (I think November 2017, low mileage car), Mike did not mention the bogus oil leak, but said I had a transmission fluid leak. Again, it is funny when they say I have a leak and my garage floor says I do not. Got four tires as well. The third and final visit was scheduled by Mike, on the phone (spring or summer 2018). I came in and was told I did not have an appointment. They said maybe I had mistakenly made an appointment at Canton Monro, just down the road. Yeah, I'm that stupid. While talking to a couple of the employees on and off, one of them let out that the only way an appointment could disappear would be if someone deleted it. Then Mike said he would love to fit me in, but they had a technician leave that day. I can put two and two together. Mike then lied to me and said he would remember if he made an appointment with me two days before and that he had not; he did not even make an attempt to be diplomatic about it. I had the oil change done there a day or two later. They said I needed new spark plugs in the future for the car's 110,000 maintenance, but did not mention that I also needed a valve adjustment at that time. My previous garage (far away) never had a problem saying "Take it to the dealer for this." They were honest. I now take it to the local dealership (just down the road). They gave me a printout in October 2018 with everything on my car getting a green light (no exhaust issue, no oil leak, no tranny leak), except I needed a new battery (which was not a surprise given its age). I had always been an anti-dealer guy, but every situation is different! read more

I have a few good reviews for Midas in Canton. (They saved me HUNDREDS!) First, My husbands car broke down on 44 and all the Midas guys ran out and pushed my husbands car out of the road. They also fixed his car that day, no wait! 2) Because of that great experience with my husbands car. I decided to try them out. I normally go to a friend who is a mechanic. That friend replaced my rotors and brakes a little over a year ago, $700 - so I was surprise to feel my car shaking on the highway when I braked recently. I called my friend to see if my rotors were on warranty and they were not. After he looked at my car again, and said I needed all new brakes and rotors again. $700. I was NOT happy about it. I decided instead to wait since it wasn't a direct safety issue. So I brought my car to Midas for a second opinion. They said my brakes still had 40% life left and they could shave down the rotors for a smoother brake. They also noticed one of my lights was out and I could use a new filter.. Total: $160!!!!! YES PLEASE! Thank you for saving me hundreds of dollars and going the extra mile for my family and I! I will recommend you to everyone! read more
