I purchased my car less than three years ago and I have had to return back to the dealer more than five times for repair. 5/5 times they were not able to fix the problem or say they don't see a problem. Ae ding me home and having me return over and over again. The computer needled three visits to return. I just left there and they say they detailed my car in the report. My car is in the same condition as when I brought it in for service. When I ask to speak to a manager there isn't a manager to be found to hear my concerns. I will not be returning mor will I ever refer someone to this dealershi. I would be EXTREMELY cautious doing business here. In fact, I would highly recommend against it. First, they gave me a quote of $3,200 for the work, when I inquired elsewhere and found I could get aftermarket for $1,800, these people suddenly said, "Oh, we can do that too." Why didn't they give me that choice up front? We know the answer. Then they told me that I could open a Toyota card and get 6 months interest free. That also turned out to be false. And when I tried to work it up the ladder, I was taken into the office of an individual who looked like he'd be more interested in chewing glass than helping me and told me I'd have to wait a half an hour because he had something else he had to do other than assist a customer who was standing right in front of him. This is a bad place. They are incompetent and do not have their customers' best interests at heart. Stay away! read more

I inquired about a 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport that I saw on the website. The car hadn't been delivered yet but I was sent the spec sheet and knew I wanted it having already test drove one a few months ago. I initially dealt with Randy and he reserved the truck for me. Then was handed off to Tee. Both of them are awesome and really great guys. I reached out to the dealership to request the purchase order ahead of the delivery date so I could get the ball rolling on my financing. It was Tee's day off so I unfortunately had to work with Dan Urso. This is where the deal went sour. I received the purchase order and the "Retailer's Conveyance Fee" was unreasonable at $699 and there was also a Vin Etch charge at $199. I tried to negotiate the Conveyance Fee down to $500 and said I did not want the the Vin etch. Danny called me and said they wouldn't negotiate either. I said I was no longer interested. I ended up speaking to Tee the following day when he was back and he initially said since the vehicle hadn't arrived so he could have the vin etch charge removed. Apparently when the vehicles arrive at the dealership, they immediately etch them so they can charge customers this bogus $200 fee that costs them probably $5 to do. At that point I was willing to pay the $699 conveyance fee as long as the vin etch was removed. He then reached out and said Danny was unwilling to remove the vin etch. Talk about a sleazy move. I know they don't care because the vehicle will sell regardless and some other person will get charged the extra fees and will pay them. However I just hope this review reaches the Yelp audience to show a typical dealership pulling their scumbag ways. P.S., make sure Tee and Randy get their $17 for the only positive part of this review. Or do they only get that for Google reviews? read more

I had a dead battery and took my 2017 rav4 in as this was an 84 month battery that was 16 months old. This was the third battery in 43,000 miles. Battery 1 was replaced under warranty on 8/6/19 with no charge, battery 2 failed on 1/13/22, and I was charged $143.94 prorated warranty and installation. That battery failed 16 months later. Torrington Toyota refused to warranty an 84 month battery after 16 months use. read more

I have been using Torrington Toyota for about 2 years now for service on my truck. I feel like a "regular" there due to recall work needed and the service team has always been accommodating and helpful. I've been having an issue with my truck that has been hard to duplicate on demand. I have never had a service manager take care of a customer like Chris has for me. He has figured out issues I've had by networking at trade shows and has had Toyota technical reps at the shop working with me. I can email him about an issue with my truck and he addresses it immediately. They are honest and all work to take care of customers from what I have experienced. For service, this is the only place I would ever go for my Toyota. read more

Really strange experience: I inquired about a new Land Cruiser online. When I mentioned that I may trade in my 23 GR Corolla CE, the online salesperson told me, basically, I have two coming in; sell it privately. End of conversation. Insult to injury, he butchered my name in his response! I buy new car once every year or two, I've never seen a dealership boot a prospective customer like this! I guess things are so great that Torrington Toyota can afford to send customers to rival dealerships. It's funny; less than a year ago I had to negotiate off most of a $10k dealer markup on this car. Now I guess it's worthless? Strange times we live in. Toyota is really doing everything in its power to alienate long-time customers. read more

**Do not get your vehicle serviced at Torrington Toyota** I usually rant and rave about this place. Their sales department is awesome. However, I will never go back to the services department. I had my 2019 Toyota Corolla serviced there on June 1st for the 30,000 mile service. I paid $318 for them to check everything over, top off fluids, and do an oil change. I picked up my car and over the next 2 days it seemed to be running a little off. Had trouble accelerating. On the third, while driving home from work, my car completely stopped accelerating, check engine light came on, and car started shaking violently. I was stranded on the side of 202. After having it checked out, turns out the service tech never actually did an oil change. He just filled more oil on top of the oil that was in there. Doubling the amount of oil my car needed which spilled over into the engine causing it to misfire.... I brought the car back immediately and the two people working inside made jokes about this happening and told me all of the techs had already gone home for the night. The guy at the desk said "let me guess, you need this back tonight??" As if he were annoyed. They kept the car overnight, did a proper oil change, and never offered to compensate me in any way. I had to ask the service manager what they were gonna do and he offered me $100. Not even half of what I had paid. Sorry for the long post. I highly recommend their sales department but DO NOT use their services department. Go to a different dealership and save yourself the time and money. read more

Although it was only periodic maintenance -- rotate tires, oil change, sytems check, what impressed me was that they advised me to delay having other items done at this point in time -- they could have changed the cabin and engine air filters, and done a complete brake job. No sales pitch, instead, wait, they said, I have another 10K miles before needing all that. I chose to go a little out of my way, to test drive a 4Runner here, due to their stellar reviews. I spoke with Tee (salesman) and Dave (VP, or GM?) both very polite, low pressure, reasonable people. In an industry known for anything but courtesy, these gentlemen were appreciated. Unfortunately their low allocation of 4Runners at the time, meant that there wasn't a deal to be made (no fault of theirs). However, they evaluated my trade honestly, and with fairness- even taking the time to bring the manager from their body shop to evaluate paint imperfections on my car, all while never being negative, or going to a back room- even as we discussed numbers. I really hope to get to bring business to them in the future. Thanks guys! Other dealers take a note- we are all human, and many of us would gladly even pay a little extra to deal with people who treat their customers with dignity during the car shopping process. read more

My husband walked in because we had a nail in a tire and we wanted to replace that tire. They turned around and handed him a $1700 bill asking to replace all four tires and telling us to replace the brakes on a car that is under two years old. Really are we that stupid or that they that dishonest? Shame on them. Don't bother going there for service apparently it's the only way they know how to treat people is by ripping them off. This is the one dealership I go to. Everyone there feels like family. I've never been talked down to, never been dealt with shabbily, never made to feel like my money is all that matters, all of which have happened in other places. But not here. I use their service department exclusively, because I never have to wait around; I'm greeted immediately and professionally. My service is clearly explained to me, and when something else comes up, someone explains it and consults with me right away. The waiting room is clean and stocked with magazines and coffee or tea. There is no dealership in four states that I've been to that can hold a candle to this one!
