First, Auto Kingdom was the only auto service facility that would tackle my complex emissions…read moreproblems. I tried the facility that tested my emissions, the garage I'd been going to for 14 years to service our three cars and a "highly recommended" garage-all in Shelton. None of them would even give me an estimate!?! They all said or implied that the job was too complicated and wouldn't be worth their time. Then, a friend told me about AK and Gustavo, the manager. I brought my car to him along with the emissions test results. Within 15 minutes, he gave me an accurate estimate and we scheduled my car for repairs. Three days later, my car was running like new. It had tons more power, ran very smoothly and I'm even getting better gas mileage. AK is somewhat far from my house, but it is well worth the trip for such great service. Thank you Gustavo and crew. P.S. Also, free potato chips.

I had my car towed there after speaking with them last week about potentially doing the brake job (my fault completely for letting it go so long) and I called on my way from the tow trunk; they were so kind, I arrived by 11:30 and they had my brakes and rotators fixed/replaced by 3pm! They also offered me a military discount when they saw the plates on the car of the family member who dropped me off (retired marine). They turned a really awful day into a win and for under 1k with quality parts and service. I will never get brakes and rotor service anywhere else. Really well priced too. They've definitely earned a new customer for my future needs and were a silver lining in a scary day. Todays lesson- don't let car stuff go! I got lucky but almost didn't!

These guys are really honest. We were driving home from Rhode Island to Maryland when we hit…read moresomething on 95 and we heard a horrible metal on metal grinding sound. AAA recommended this Midas. We called and they promised to get us in today as they knew we were far from home. Once we got the car there, they were able to look at it and determined that just a backing plate got pushed out of place. Fixed it and we were on our way in 15 minutes. No charge. I'm positive most other garages would have charged us for something completely unnecessary. Like I said, these guys are honest. I don't live in CT so likely won't be back but if you live nearby, I'd give them a chance.

I brought my vehicle in specifically to address an electrical short affecting the air conditioning…read moresystem. I clearly explained the issue upfront, yet the shop proceeded with unrelated repairs that had nothing to do with the electrical system. Despite being contacted twice and assured that the problem had been resolved, the original issue remained completely unfixed when I picked up my vehicle. To make matters worse, I was told I needed a brand-new starter, when in fact the only issue was a missing bolt -- a basic oversight that raises serious questions about their diagnostic process and integrity. This experience strongly suggests either a lack of technical competence or intentional upselling of unnecessary repairs. I would caution others against trusting this establishment, and believe it warrants further investigation for questionable and potentially unethical business practices.

I guess because of the rain it was slow, so they were able to fit me right in to get my oil change done, including a tire rotation. Shalisa and Shayla were so nice and helpful! I appreciated being shown the state of my cabin and engine filters, and my coolant levels (extra $5 to top off); I always find it helpful to see what's actually going on under the hood when I'm not checking in on a regular basis! I'm always surprised at how much oil changes end up costing, especially when you see so many offers and deals for $30 or less... But I do feel like I'm getting taken care of pretty well here. In addition, I always recommend searching online for a coupon code - like today I found one for $15 off.

They spent over a week diagnosing it, replaced a sensor that wasn't needed and then told me there was probably rodent damage behind the dashboard and that I would need to go to the dealer. They were going to charge me several hours of labor, but after arguing with the manager, he conceded and didn't charge me. I immediately took the car to another garage less than a mile away, and they diagnosed the problem in less than an hour. They ordered the parts needed and gave me a loaner car for the weekend since it was before the 4th of July holiday. I got the car back on July 6th, and the AC works great. Modern Tire was not a good choice to do AC work.
