Just ate at Jimmy's Egg for the first time with my wife. We decided to try it based on the good reviews. When we got there about 0945 it was super busy. We were told it would take 10-15 minutes to be seated. It took about 10. Our server James was conversational and fantastic! He got our orders put in quickly. This is the Most unorganized business I've ever seen. They were busy, yes. But they have plenty of employees to handle it. We sat at the bar because that's all there was. It's 30° outside and the AC is blowing directly on us. The waitress doesn't know her own menu. The other waiters and waitresses are taking food off plates and adding to other plates before they take them to their customers. Then the grill employees are yelling at them for it. Not the best experience for a first timer on a Sunday, " especially after receiving a fulfilling word from the pulpit". The hostess service was not good even after pleading for patients and affording the staff another chance. We did receive both entries together however the waffles of the chicken (chicken strips) and waffle entry was so cold that laying the butter on top was more like preserving it than melting it. The Cuban sandwich missed the whole Cuban zest. More like a all we had left was bread and mustard meal. If you can relate to a syrup sandwich then take out the syrup and add heavy mustard. Both the Killeen and Temple locations are great. The Killeen location is close to my doctors office and the Temple location is very close to my house. The staff is always friendly and very attentive. The menu has all the usual breakfast item but it's the expanded menu item that sets Jimmy's Egg apart from the rest. My only wish is that I would love to see them stay open later. I ordered an omelet that includes two sides. My sides were biscuits and gravy and bacon which are the sides on their menu card. When i got my receipt, it says that i was charged extra $3 dollars for bacon. I asked the waitress about why I was charged extra. The waitress stated that it is a premium side even though it is offered as a side in their menu card. Not only this, i sat at the bar-like area where you can see the chefs and waitresses working. As i was eating, the chef on the grill threw the empty small plastic bin, that is used to place bread out of their original package, to the floor. The chef grew mad because he had to walk over the counter to refill the plastic bin with bread so that he could toast it on the grill. He looked at one of the waitress, who was responsible for refilling the bin with bread, was placing breakfast meats on the customers' plates after he agressively threw the plastic bin to the ground. I find it unnecessary for the chef to belittle the waitress in front of me, customers, and his associates. I decided to have breakfast with a friend, it was our first time here. We arrived about 10:15am and were seated fairly quickly. It took approximately 5 minutes for the waiter to take our order. Now for the 3 stars, we did not receive our food until close to 11:00am. I understand if the restaurant was busy, but that is a long wait (-1 star). My friend ordered an omelet and didn't like it as much. I ordered the two meat classic combo which was pretty good; with the exception of my eggs being oily. Our water was never topped off (-1 star). The portions were decent, but I still felt hungry after my meal. I might come back another day, maybe the restaurant still has some kinks to work out since they haven't been opened long. read more

Everything was ok, I'd give it 2.5 stars if it were an option. We didn't make a reservation and were told it was a 30 minute wait, which turned out to only be 25 minutes, so that was nice. The hostess made a joke about how her legs hurt so she wasn't going to walk us to our table. That's fine but it seemed odd and put us off right away. She could have just pointed us to our table and said nothing. The food was decent. I ordered the waffle which is supposed to come with whipped cream. My husband got a coffee with whipped cream. His arrived with whipped cream, mine did not. We were told they were out of whipped cream, and I would have changed my order had I known that was an issue. How hard is it to make more whipped cream, especially during the middle of brunch with at least two more hours to go. The eggs Benedict was decent. A busser was cleaning the table next to ours and sprayed whatever cleaner they were using on the table, instead of into the rag, which resulted in a cloud of cleaner blowing into our faces while we were trying to eat. The check was placed on our table before we requested it and were planning on ordering more food. I'll come here again but with less expectations for it actually being a good restaurant, and I'll do the server's job and inquire as to whether they have all of the ingredients for my meal before I place my order. read more

I've been here a couple of times, this makes today the second time I've waited 2 hours for COLD FOOD. I decided to bring my parents and son since they have never been. I do not blame on our waiter at all, she always checked up on us and attentive to our needs. The carry out customers were obviously priority versus the people who actually dined in. We were all getting frustrated and also had to deal with my child who had been waiting for his food as well. By the time we got our food my dad didn't even touch his cold food ( or take it to go) and I sent mine back. My child's food was forgotten as well. I gave the waiter my card so we could leave and she told me they haven't even started with my food ( you would think after all that it would be priority) and still paid for everything including the awful service. The establishment is clean and is larger than you would expect. We seated ourselves and were served immediately. As for the food, it was pretty darn delicious. My mom had the cinnamon roll pancakes which she loved and I had the country skillet with two biscuits and gravy. I think the skillet was a little bland but a little pepper fixed that lol Each plate was around $8 which is pretty decent. I think IHOP finally has some decent competition. The only problem was when our food was delivered, the waiter forgot to bring out the rest until we reminded her. And it happened twice. Luckily the food made up for that. read more

I came here by myself cause I wanted a nice relaxing breakfast, and it was alright. I ordered a one meat breakfast with egg whites, fruit, hash browns and sausage patties. The food was decent, not something I'd crave or life changing. The service was kinda of sucky. I thought it'd be better cause I sat at the bar, but the waitress forgot my order and asked me about it; then, forgot to give me my fruit. Maybe it was just a bad day, but she also did it to several customers sitting next to me. All the staffs are wearing mask. The seats, tables, and counters are being wiped down frequently after each customer. My waitress Hannah customer service was more than exceptional. She was attentive and made sure to keep checking on me. I ended up getting a veggie omelette, grits, home fries (potatoes), and a Texas toast. The grits came in a very small bowl. I felt like I only had three scoops of the grits and they were done (wtf). The potatoes tasted better after placing salt and pepper on them and dipping them in ketchup. And the Texas toast was softer than I expected but it was good with the peach jam. Overall I'll rate this place and it's food a 4.8. read more

Really, not impressed. All the hype over this place... I don't get it. The only time I felt things were ok was when we were leaving, the staff were friendly of our departure. But then I checked myself. I worked in food service. They were only chipper/friendly because they were happy we were leaving. It was closing time... They were actually friendly throughout the dining experience, but it was more so towards the end. I came here with my family on a Sunday for brunch at about 12:30-12:45, there were 6 of us, altogether. We were seated at a large booth, awesome. Plenty of room for all of us. Our drink orders were taken about 10mins later. Our waiter didn't even mention the menus sitting at the other end of the table. I just happened to see them. The variety is great. I figured I'd give something unique a try. The waiter comes back about 10mins later to take our food order. So I ordered the Baja omelet with extra filling, hollandaise sauce, sides of premium hash browns and premium yogurt, and a side of French toast. We waited about 45mins to receive our food. The large group of maybe 10 or more folks next to us received their food before us, even though they were seated about 15 minutes after us. We were thinking, "maybe it's because they were regulars," but that's still no excuse... We receive our food, finally. However, I didn't get premium hash browns, I received premium home fries. I definitely didn't order those because I know not to order home fries, I don't like my potatoes like that. I let my waiter know. He said he swore I ordered home fries. I also mentioned I didn't get hollandaise sauce. He gladly went back to get a batch of premium hash browns started and put hollandaise sauce on my omelet. That's when I realized my yogurt wasn't premium, either. (I dipped my omelet in the yogurt thinking that was the sauce...) I didn't even care to mention it. I was hangry and annoyed. So I just ate. The food was good. Not great. The regular French toast was pretty tasty, but soggy. I say "regular" because there was one piece that was darker than the other two. I have no idea what kind of bread it was, but it was not good. And not the type of bread that should've been used for French toast. Mind you, I still haven't received my hash browns... I got through most of my meal, my family was about done with their meals, and then, I received my hash browns. This is near closing time. It did not look like my sister-in-law's... They looked rushed, not cooked all the way, and the "premium" of it was a slice of [Kraft?] cheese barely melted on top and barely grilled onions. I wouldn't be surprised if they seasoned it with spit. I could only take two bites of it before I covered it in ketchup. That hardly helped. I didn't finish them. I ate my baby niece's over cooked bacon to try to feel satisfied. Either way, I politely asked for the check, paid my bill, even tipped the waiter. Only because I was just ready to leave and get to the movies we had to watch at 2:20... I apologize for the long review. If you've made it this far, I just hope it helps you decide for the better. I believe we would've been more satisfied at IHOP, and for cheaper. I do not recommend this place, and I highly doubtfully will be back. read more
