I've always placed online orders and picked them up from the store. I've never dined in, but it seems very casual. I'd recommend avoiding peak lunch hours the wait is horrible and the staff can be pretty rude and overwhelmed during that time. I've been here a couple of times. I enjoyed the veggie sandwich since it tasted very fresh. However, the meats didn't seem fresh at all. One time I ordered beef and it had a weird taste, and another time the chicken was just okay. I'd say the sandwiches are usually decent. However they have trouble with ensuring the right sandwiches are the correct ones. When I work from home, I check the box and leave instructions for "leave at door" and they always insist on knocking. This disturbs my dogs and I have to excuse myself from the call. I've never seen someone care less about their job than the girl working the to-go and delivery line here. She's got AirPods in while working, slams sandwiches down on the counter, and storms off like you're bothering her by asking where your already-late order is. On top of that, she locks the doors early even when she knows people are still coming to pick up food she made. Went in today and got stared at blankly from the cashier. It was a girl who had dark curly hair and light colored eyes. I ordered my food and she stared at me blankly again, as if it was some sort of inconvenience for her, so I said "that's all." She then stared at me blankly AGAIN and never once talked. I had to look at the screen to see what my total was because miss girl thought she was too good to speak or something. I worked in customer service so I get bad days. The 2 girls who work here on Saturday are completely tactless, and after reading other reviews clearly are incapable of being decent to customers. Probably the worst customer service. The person asked what I wanted, gladly told them and they had the audacity to walk away so they could make a sandwich. I had to wait for the next person to come and take my order. Question is, how long has that guy been waiting for his sandwich. I've been here dozens of times now--for better or for worse, it's become a default lunch spot when I just don't want to think about lunch, or have too much to do to go anywhere that requires more walking and time. They've completely won me over with their consistency. * The staff is always friendly and efficient. They're always abuzz in activity and seem to be enjoying their work. No surly expressions here. They greet you when you walk in and bid you farewell when you depart. It's the extra mile that sticks in one's mind. * Out of dozens of visits, only once have I thought that the sandwich was a bit lacking: I got a tuna salad with not nearly enough tuna salad on it. I think there was some new staff working the line that day. Other than this, though, sandwiches are always jam-packed full of fresh ingredients and prepared quickly. * I try not to get chips too much, but when I do, they have my favorite varieties, both jalapeño and salt & vinegar, and they're good crunchy kettle chips. I then think about all the hassle in South Lake Union to find a place to eat or settle for something real terrible close by. Then, I think about the app on my phone and order from Jimmy John's. I found JJ's once on an exploratory trip home once from work via the South Lake Union area. As I was walking down Westlake I noticed the open door and looked inviting to go in and check it out. I found the customer service to be top notch and quickly made my order and by the time I got my change the sandwich was handed to me. So, A+ on being quick. So, hows the food quality? I found the sandwich to be warm and already toasted and although not heaping with meat and vegetables, it was tasty and the right amount to fill me up. Also, the sandwich is wrapped good and easily carried and eaten as I walked my way home. If you don't know what Jimmy John's is, you have likely been under a log somewhere. They take a very simple approach to subs: high quality meat, cheese, and veggies, super quick sandwich assembly (and delivery if you want it), great prices, and a delicious sandwich. Add a pickle if you want, or chips and a cookie, and you have a very tasty lunch. I have two go-tos: the #14 Bootlegger Club, which includes roast beef and turkey along with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo; and the Gargantuan (aka the "Garg"). The Garg features pretty much all of the cold cut style of meats that JJ's has along with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, Italian seasoning, vinaigrette dressing, and mayo. Since raw onions aren't always my friend, I generally take them off but add cucumbers (a freebie add) to the sandwich. And let me tell you, a "Cuc'ed Garg" is glorious! Bursting in flavor, it will leave you satisfied, and it goes perfectly with Jimmy's BBQ chips. For as busy as this location is at lunch time considering its location smack in the heart of Amazon land, the order takers are fast and efficient, and the sandwiches are made quickly and correctly. Even when the line is out the door (which it often is!), it moves quickly. Finding seating at times can be a problem, but that is true of any JJ's I have been to. 2 stars today because my sandwich was missing ingredients and poorly made today, so I had to get a redo. My table was dirty too and not cleaned fast enough in the busy lunch rush. Worst of all, it is completely annoying when I buy a very average sandwich that costs over 8.50 and if I want water they are only willing to give the customer a 9 oz cheap paper cup that is too small and looks more like what a preschooler would be served at snack time. Thanks for filling my britches! "So fast you'll freak!" Well, I didn't know they were serious. I waited less than a minute for my sandwich, and this was at 12:15pm during the lunch rush. That really IS enough to make me freak - right into my pants! OK, I didn't dump, nor did I see other people freaking, but I sure wish I had. They should have a freak contest there. It would be a great promotion for them. Maybe it's the term 'freak' that is keeping that from happening. I mean, is it insensitive or politically incorrect to use the term 'freak'? Do real freaks get offended at that? I mean say you have a twin growing out of your side. I imagine life is tough enough without some sandwich franchise using your condition as a verb for what people will do when their sandwich arrives with an unusual amount of rapidity. Maybe freaks don't care, I don't know. Maybe that's why the slogan is not "So fast, you'll geek!" Maybe geeks are more likely to complain. I placed a lunch order from Jimmy John's for about 20 people last week. Everything went smoothly and everyone was happy with their lunches (especially the tub o' pickles) but my own sandwich got messed up. I asked for no cheese and I got a turkey sandwich sans cheese, mayo, or sprouts. I was going to write a pouty update, expressing how I wish JJ would value accuracy over speed... ... BUT THEN this week I had to place a last minute box lunch order for 11 people. First a guy from the store called within minutes to check on something that I had entered strangely when placing the online order. I am SO GRATEFUL that he did this otherwise I would have had a bunch of disappointed staffers. Second, the driver showed up right on time, which was just under an hour after I placed the order! Right so, I had to come and review this JJ location because it's just always so bomb every time I go in. First of all, holy crap, I think they could field a softball team with the number of people that work here. I first came here soon after the location opened for business, so I assumed it was a "let's make sure we impress the neighborhood our first couple weeks" sort of hiring bonanza. A few months later and there's still tons of people there. That's great. It seems to make everyone much happier with lots of folks to joke around with as they work. Second, I sincerely like the very enthusiastic "HEY!!!"s when I go in and "See ya later! Have a great day!"s when I leave. It makes me laugh every time, and it's funny to watch others' reactions to it. Along those lines, the service is really good at this location. Since they have so many people working, the sandwiches come out ridiculously fast. A young man came to me as I was filling my drink and handed my sandwich to me with a "Here you go, miss!" I had barely walked the length of the counter at this point. (Also, extra points for calling me "miss" instead of "ma'am." I don't think I've heard "miss" in ten years. I love you, sandwich maker dude.) ALSO, I realized when I sat down that I forgot to ask them to cut the sandwich in half for me. I walked to the guy nearest me, behind the counter, and asked if he could cut it in half for me -- he happened to be elbows deep in a cleaning job, so of course he couldn't, but the guy manning the meat slicer noticed, and without being asked literally hopped skipped and jumped over to me, took my sandwich, did the cut, and handed it back over with a smile. Of course, none of this would matter if the sandwich (#12, add bacon) wasn't always great. It's fresh and yummy. Also, when I was a poor starving grad student, the still great 50-cent day old bread was a life saver for me on multiple occasions. So, props to this JJ's location. You guys rock. read more

Since I work down in South Lake Union, I am all about finding cheap eats for lunch. Can't go wrong with Jimmy Johns, you can walk out there with a sub for $5! Not very many place in SLU where you can walk out the door for lunch under $6. You will see a line out the door but they are super efficient at making sandwhiches, less than 7 minute wait. Didnt get a 5 star because the $5 subs are light on meat, and sometimes the bread is hard on the ends. The Big John is my favorite $5 sub, Italian night club is my favorite $6.50 sub. read more
