Jimmy Johns is not trying to be the Lunchbox Laboratory here...I think some reviewers might be taking that "gourmet" under their name a little too literally and reviewing a little unfairly. I ordered a Hunter's Club and when I looked at it I didn't see anything special. It pretty much just looks like your average Subway kind of sandwich with no frills whatsoever. However, the speed in which it was made, the price, and the quality of ingredients completely won me over. The french roll was delicious and soft (and not the same old "franz" bread that every other little sandwich shop likes to use around Seattle), they didn't pack an insane amount of lettuce on it, the tomatoes were FRESH and not slimy, and the roast beef was actually medium rare instead of dark brown and swimming in meat juice like Subway uses. I think what we have here is a clear case of decent ingredients and employees that seemingly know how to actually make a sandwich, rather than a retarded monkey with plastic bags on his hands, slapping everything together and hoping it comes out alright in the end like some of the "sandwich artists" I have encountered over the years. It's not meant to be a 12 dollar per sandwich kind of place. It's an alternate choice to Subway or Quiznos and in my opinion, it's far better. I understand that Jimmy John's was short staffed today but I waited more than 30 minutes for my food when they are supposed to be freakie fast! Order at 12:35pm for my lunch and got an confirmation for out to delivery less than 6 minutes later....so I took my lunch break at 12:55pm (30 minutes) to meet the driver outside my building. Make it easy for them to toss my sandwich to me and to drive away....well that was a mistake on my part! Waited until 1:05pm to call the store and I was told that the driver was still coming and was less than 5 minutes and that they were short staffed. Fine, I figured I would have 20 minutes to eat my lunch before my lunch break was over. Well....I waited another 10 minutes....no driver. Called back at 1:18pm and the store employee said a few more minutes. Well, driver called me at 1:20pm and said that he was lost on campus. :/ Tried to give directions and then he hung up. Still hopeful that I could get my lunch and eat it upstairs. Driver called back and said he was still lost - I asked for the order to be cancelled and my money to be refunded back to me since I had to return back to work on an empty stomach at 1:25pm. Called the store to asked for the order to be cancelled and my money to be refunded back to me. Was hung up the first time by the store employee. Had to call back again and was told that the manager was too busy to talk to me (I wanted to confirm that my money will be given back to me since I got no food and I am now straving until I get off of work :/). Will I come back to this place for delivery in the future? No...employees at the store (manager & person who answered the phone) seem rude (but it could be that they were busy) however, the driver seem sympathetic. Thanks for letting me starve, Jimmy John's. Fast, decent, they try way too hard to be "cheeky" and brand new 2009 minted "Retro" wall hangings. Service was prompt but rather bland and yawning, almost smirky. Never heard of this place until just recently. Sandwich was very good and prepared quickly. I got the J.J. Gargantuan and nearly finished it (just a couple bites left). The sandwich wasn't really THAT big. But anyway, the prices are quite reasonable, and the ingredients are high quality. I paid 25 cents extra for jalepenos, which weren't really necessary. The bread tastes fine but it is pretty plain. So I guess this place's main competition is Subway's and Quizno's, so let's compare. Both Subway and Quizno's have more variety, for example Meatball Marinara at Subway's and Prime Rib and Peppercorn at Quizno's. Plus, you can have any sandwich grilled at Quizno's. As far as I can tell Jimmy John's doesn't have any hot sandwiches. I was looking (hoping) for something that would stick out as unique, such as corned beef, reuben, cheesesteak, egg salad, etc. But the entire menu is pretty much the same as Subway or Quizno's, but with fewer choices. Not exactly fewer since JJ's may technically have more menu items than either Subway or Quizno's, but less overall variety. Nothing wrong with that, just something to consider. At any rate, this place has good sandwiches and they are made lightning quick. The ingredients are high quality, which may give it a leg up over Subway or Quizno's. But in the end I think it's more or less just comparable with the other two, I don't think that it's the ultimate sandwich place (which you wouldn't expect anyway with the low prices). But it's certainly a good alternative to Subway or Quizno's if one is tired of those restaurants. read more

I order from this location 3-4 times a week for lunch, always have had delivery within 20 minutes. (About a 5 minute bike ride away from the store) Friday July 31st, they took over an HOUR to deliver. I had to call and ask what's going on. They said they had a big catering order and were backed up, which I totally understand, it happens. No biggie. Today, August 1st, about 40 minutes went by, so I called and they told me they haven't even started making my sandwiches. They were "busy again" So I got transferred to the Assistant Manager, Reggie. He immediately had attitude and seemed like he hated his job. I told him multiple times, I don't want a refund, don't want free food, all I was asking for is to call me to let me know that they were running late on orders, that's it. A simple 30 second phone call instead of making a customer wait over an hour. I told him I'm only 5 minutes away on bike and he says "you're right across the street, just walk here." If I'm paying for delivery AND tipping the bikers, why would I walk? I'm paying for a service. For an assistant manager, that's very rude, impolite and just flat out horrible customer service. I will no longer order from them again, not supporting a poorly managed establishment. Sucks though, I really liked the guys delivering, super chill guys. The worst JJ I have ever been to. Walked in and the girl at the register just stared at me blankly. Not a word. When I asked if she was ready for me to order I gut the rudest look. Still no word. This shop does a great job on marketing. They dropped off coupons and a bunch of sandwiches at our office. I decided to give them a try since the samples were pretty good and was a little tired of eating Subway's stuff. The sandwich was pretty good. The thing that I like is the availability of the peppers and hot sauce. The meat was flavorful and bread was pretty good. Service was great, however the menu is very difficult to read. As far as atmosphere in the restaurant, can someone tell me why the music needs to be so loud? It was so loud I couldn't hear my friend speak. Its a trend in a lot of places to have loud music, probably to get you to eat fast a get out. Maybe they want customers to take the food out and not stay. The best thing about Jimmy Johns is that they are speedy at making their sandwiches and delivering them. The sandwiches are pretty good too. Whenever I have them deliver to my work it only takes them 10 minutes to deliver from the time I call them. These guys on their bikes seriously deserve a lot of credit for riding around. As far as sub shops go, Jimmy Johns is your best bet when compared to Subway and Quizno's. The ingredients actually taste fresh. The bread is savory, the meat is freshly sliced and best of all they deliver. Even during lunch hour, you can call or order online and it typically takes them less than 15 minutes to deliver your sandwich made to your specifications. This is my favorite sandwich shop in the Northgate area. Quick and friendly service...and great sandwiches! I actually didn't know about this place until they stopped by my office with samples. Once I tried it, I was hooked! I love how they offer sprouts. In my opinion, they slather on way too much mayo. Thus, I opt to add "sauce" instead...which is a mix of oil/vinegar. The quality is far superior to Subway. Sure, you get a much larger sandwich for the same price at Subway. In my opinion, quality is much more important than quantity. But I had to call instead of ordering online because the last time I ordered the beach club they put like no avacodo which is a big part of why I order that specific sandwhich. I eat JJ's probably once every other week but I've only visited this location twice. The first time was just a couple weeks ago. I ordered a roast beef sandwich with double meat. Took it home, opened it up, started eating it, and realised what I was given a roast beef and ham. Little miscommunication there. when I called them, they knew who I was, apologised and said they'd put my name down on a list to get a free sandwich on my next visit. A few days later, I was back in the area so I stopped in to order that free sandwich. There was my name...on the list. These guys are solid. As with other Jimmy Johns, they are really fast! I mean ridiculously fast. They make solid sandwiches. Not the best sandwiches out there, but for half the price of tubs, it's a nice change up. Pro Tip: Get the wheat bread. It is two actual slices of thick wheat bread. The first time we tried out JJ's, they actually waved at us as we were trying to scope out exactly what the place is, almost mockingly--but I have some pretty big balls, so I strolled in to see what their deal was... and what a deal it is. First, the meat is far superior to that Subway crap. You can't hold up a piece of this meat and see through it-- its sliced to order, which I also like. I always get a sandwhich that is too big for my appetite because they always sound good. They only come in one size and have a limited amount of condomints, so if you want all kinds of crazy sauces, go to Quizno's and eat their fake meats. If Subway is a three then Jimmy John's is a four. I eat at Subway once in a while because it is ubiquitous and I can stay on the wagon there. This place is a notch above. Then she wouldn't give me a napkin and made me walk to the end of the counter to reach over the wall to get my own. Got my sandwich to the table and could find the peppers I asked for.
