We ordered the hula bowl and the de Leon taco. My water tasted like plastic (maybe new water line on the drink machine?). The iced tea was fine. The taco was OUTSTANDING and I'll order it again, although the tortilla chips were stale. The Hula Bowl was good. Our food did not arrive at the same time (about five minutes), so that could be improved. Also, we were not greeted upon arrival. Overall, not bad for two weeks in business! I thought a taco couldn't be worth $5 but I was wrong! Came on a Friday and had to bring the family back on Sunday. Absolutely delicious! The tacos are flavorful and packed to the brim. Not to mention, the tortillas are grilled and insanely delicious just by themselves. Everyone started eating before I could get pictures. The guac is actually really good. Not fast food guac at all! The blackened fish is on point! The people are friendly and eager to help. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. Can't wait to sit outside and enjoy the cornhole. It looks like a strip mall eatery, but much to our surprise it is very nice. The patio dining has a great view of the water ways. The inside dining is a little like fast food but the bar dining offers full service. Its a festive atmosphere being on the water is a plus. Food is good and does not resemble fast food at all. We reserved days before a table for a important bday celebration. 20 people and verified it again morning of. Family from 3 states show up as we did who are locals and they say sorry we accidentally gave the only table that large to another group. They did not check the name to even verify this wasn't the reserved group. They told us to sit out on the picnic tables in the dirt which was horrible trying to get some of the older guests seated until they figured it out. We waited with no service over and hour and they had no options. Said we could order but now an hour later if we chose to order and sit there the fryers were down now so there was 10% oh anything to choose from. After seeing everyone upset I approached the female owner and said this is bad and what can we do here. Not once had she even walked over or staff to even speak to any of us. Owner got extremely rude to the point the other male owner came to me apologizing over and over as we got our elderly up and to our cars. We had to hour and half later find another restaurant that could take us all and move the whole party. Very unprofessional staff, owner needs restaurant etiquette. We have owned hurricane Pattie's and dicks wings so the amount of wrong here was unbelievable. As locals we will never return nor advise any others. Word of mouth is huge. This would make or break the experience. I ordered about 10 different tacos - the only annoyance was the tipsy lady behind me giving me dirty looks because she waited behind me with my big order but there were other employees talking instead of taking her order on the other register. We are locals and have tried JH four times--parking and access in and out of the restaurant is enough to go somewhere else. Service is as bad a "Culenary Outfitters" and they are out of business. The food is average bar food at best and it takes forever to get it. Prices are extremely high for tacos and frozen burgers. Service staff looks like they just walked out of the gym--little to no sign of people handling your food having any priority on personal hygiene. I was looking to this place opening for months, and today I went for lunch. I had the Baja and Epic fish taco, both had the fish blackened. The first thing I noticed was lack of any pico-de-gallo or salsa for the chips. Serving dry chips as a side is for what? How much does it cost for a simple side, 10 cents? I was expecting a lot more flavor from the tacos. Both tasted the same to me, not much flavor at all. I even asked myself that maybe these are the signs I have COVID. The only taste of the fish was that it was salty. I would go again but order something different and sit outside when it cools down. read more
